Guest Reviews
- Gail (6/5): - Everything was fine. Except our room key did not lock the door. Had to request manager to lock and unlock deadbolt.
- Adrian (8/5): - She’s a little tired but clean and comfortable
- Glenn (8/5): - A good price.Dated but clean
- Richard (10/5): - Very nice staff
- Richard (10/5): - Very nice and helpful staff
- Amber (2/5): - We arrived a little after 11pm to check in, while i understand for a family business this is late at night, the person who came to the desk was very rude and difficult to talk to, my reservation was for a queen bed and 2 guests, for whichever reason they gave me 2 beds, which is fine… until the next morning when I went to get my deposit back- the older gentlemen was screaming at the top of his lungs at what im assuming was his family the entire 10 mins or so I was there It was extremly uncomfortable to the point I considered calling the police, the you gentleman then checked the room and said he would have to charge me an additional $120 for using both beds… thats almost double the cost of booking a room with 2 beds and I could have stayed at the best western and had a peaceful stay at that cost. When I asked why give me that room type if I hadnt booked he simply said we did you a favour letting you have a ground floor.
Proffesionalism 0/10
- Roger (2/5): - Rude and dirty n nasty
- jeff (8/5): - Clean and comfortable on. Budget.
- Maureen (8/5): - On the booking site I stated that i would pay cash at property but they put it on my credit card! Didn't want it on my card. Had to have them refund card and then I paid cash.
Room was clean, staff was friendly. Overall it was a great stay.
- Sam (10/5): Excellent - My first time here. Check-in was fast and courteous, very nice lady at the desk. The room was very clean and had everything I needed. There’s a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker.
Will definitely stay here again!
- Garry (10/5): - Great stay
- Mogens (8/5): - Hwy noise
- Ian (2/5): - no food options
- Franco (10/5): - Very old
- Angela (2/5): - Room was ok, what we expected, but we were leaving to go to a wedding and the door would not lock. I went and told the front desk and he came up and assured me that he would lock the door for me. I was worried all night whether or not our door was locked. When we returned, our door was not locked at all. When I went to check out, I brought up my concerns and was brushed off. My peace of mind meant nothing to this business. Did not feel heard or valued despite clear communication to the front desk.
- Douglas (10/5): - I just needed a place to sleep for a few nights. This was convenient for me. The walls were a little thin. I could hear my neighbours tv going all night.
- susan (6/5): - Was very run down and outdated, but it was clean. Had the best shower pressure. Good for one night.
- Alan (6/5): - Not top quality. No ice. not cheap.
- Gerald (4/5): - Needs renovations.
- David (2/5): - Sorry to do this , but this motel needs to be shut down . The place is very dirty and needs a major cleaning . Patch up the holes in the ceilings . Change the bed sheets inbetween rentals ( my daughter found a vape under the covers and the other bed had glitter on the sheets ) . Very unprofessional - especially for the amount they charge per room
- Shane (6/5): - Reasonable for the price.
- Barry (6/5): - It was clean.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible - The hotel is posted as renovated, maybe in the 1950's. Room was old, sink was in room with beds not in the bathroom. The room smelt of curry or some other pungent food smell. Our clothes smelt after only 10 minutes in the room. We did not stay and left after 10 minutes. False pictures and advertising for this motel. We did not get our money back and were charged by Expedia. I will not trust the Expedia site again. We are seniors and every dollar counts. Very disappointed in Expedia and the motel. Live and learn I guess
- Chris (8/5): - Good value for the price. Simple and clean. Nothing fancy and nothing fancy was expected.
- Rodney (10/5): - Nice place for a walk.
- Wayne (4/5): - Sorry to say, but this is an old run down shack.
- Andrew (8/5): - Nothing wrong with this place for the money. Staff were cool, everything was easygoing. Hasn't been renovated for a long time but that's why it's cheap. Bedding was minimalist but there is climate control in the room. Maybe bring your own comforter? Will definitely stay here again. Metro across the way was convenient for a quick meal for the microwave.
- TammyP719 (8/5): Never judge a book by its cover. Rooms were very clean. Housekeeping staff friendly. Price is great for what you get. - Never judge a book by its cover !!. Room was very clean. Housekeeping staff were friendly. Excellent location to amenties . Lots of parking . Very spacious room. Regular key is adorable!! Price is great for what you get. We'd stay there again for sure.
- Cheryl (2/5): - The condition of the motel needs a lot of work and updating.
- Melissa (10/5): - Needed a quick place to stay for a family event. Hotel was exactly as described. Staff was very accommodating to requests.
- Leah (4/5): - It was quite run down and they put us in a room that smelled horrible of smoke, I was coughing all night.. bedding was clean atleast
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No bath towels, just hand towels.smelly room.not worth the price you pay.
- Chris (10/5): - Nice people, clean rooms. Can't ask for more than that.
- Frank (2/5): - Turned off my air conditioning not sure why, asked them not enter my room they did anyways, towels looked like they have never been washed, doors stick so they have to be slammed shut literally shaking everyone around them, had to adjust the toilet everytime it was flushed, you can hear your neighbours above and next door.
- Emerald12345 (6/5): We were pleased. - It's dated. Even an old fashioned key. But it was a pleasant stay. Wifi worked great. Not like Best Western in Ottawa or Comfort Inn in Peterborough. The other plus it was 100 dollars cheaper than bigger places. Our room was clean.
Sometimes it's just nice to stay at a Mom and Pop place.
- Bill (4/5): - poor communication on check
- Michele (2/5): - The person working at the front desk was outside talking on the phone. I went inside and he followed me. He kept talking on the phone and went in the other room for a bit. He came back to serve me and didn’t speak much English. He couldn’t find my reservation so he called someone. He made 3 calls while serving me. Usually a motel puts your deposit on hold but he charged it with the rest of the room. He gave me a refund the next day which will probably take a few days to a week to get it back. He gave me my refund after going to check my room to make sure that I didn’t break anything.
- Audrey (4/5): - The bed cover was very old and covered in black pillie balls the towels were thin and grey. The bathroom grout was dirty, the shower curtain was stained . There was a hole repaired in the wall that had not been painted. The door looked filthy
- Heather (8/5): - Good
- Joanna (10/5): - Fantastic staff .. very efficient
- Samira (4/5): - Very outdated property. The room has a very strong musty irritating odor. The sheets and towels are very old and worn out. The tables in the room are in bad shape. The bed is not comfortable. The tv is snowy. The duvet stinks. The bath tub was scummy. When we asked for room service they never changed the sheets. When we called to ask why they didn't change the sheets they were rude and blamed us for not asking them to change the sheets! The staff are so unproffesional. We had booked for 2 nights, 1st morning they call us to ask what time we are checking out while we were not checking out that day. Then they come knocking on the door like the police after a little while wanting to clean the room while we were resting. It was not worth it. I don't recommend this place.
- Sue (4/5): - It was outdated. Beds were hard. Noisy by road. Table in room looked ready for the garbage. Washroom caulking terrible. Old. Dingy. Gross. There for 5 minutes. No refund.
- Tammy (6/5): - Nice little place
- Raja S (6/5): - Old building. Need renovation. Bed sheets and towels must be washed after every use. Seems they weren't washed when we checked in.
- David (10/5): - Great place to stay .
- john (4/5): - very basic but very clean. Good for ONE night stay. Take a room at or near the end of the motel as it is quieter.
- Nancy (8/5): - Rooms were very clean, but drastically outdated. Our mattresses were very uncomfortable and the TV was very snowy; not a clear picture.
Staff was very pleasant and congenial.
- Brittney (2/5): - Extremely rude staff member stayed there for the weekend.. I showed up to check in at 8:45pm after a long day of travelling the man didn’t answer any phone or the door for more then 20 mins.. he was also caught peeking in my room window on Saturday night multiple times.. called me Sunday morning at 10:40am and told me check out was in 5 mins and I needed to get out when check out is clearly stated everywhere that it’s at 11am NOT 10:45am.. we were already loading the car as is.. extremely rude and creepy person
- Thomas (10/5): - Great for the price - if you expect 5* you'll be disappointed.
- Nithin (8/5): - Staff was very kind. Due to location, very noisy
- Dan (6/5): - Itnwas ok but noisy because of highway location
- Mike (6/5): - I think my overall rating for this property is low because of the attitude of the owner on check in. Early on during the day, I received a call and I requested a later check in because I was travelling a distance. I mentioned that I would not be arriving until 11:30 at night.
The property listing does mention 24/7 front desk. I obviously woke up the owner who was very rude. I was going to leave, but there was no refund on the reservation.
You either provide service to travellers or you don’t.
- Navjot (10/5): - Good
- Robert (6/5): My Stay - The room was clean very basic and exactly what I was looking for. I only wanted a shower and rest a few hours and it was good for that. I didnt like the pushy owner going over the rules 3 times I understood them the first time
- FRANK (8/5): - It was not bad at all, a bit of noise from the road but not really at night. The rooms were clean (we had 3 rooms) no sign of bed bugs either. Staff was friendly, for the price we got what we needed. It is dated, but again for the price it was great!
- Stephane (10/5): Amazing small motel. Everything you need! - This was genuine small town motel that is an older building but the room interiors have been renovated and are very clean and comfortable. I absolutely loved my stay. It is a minimalist motel but you have all the essentials you need to be comfortable. Amazing value for the price.
The owner was very kind and allowed me to check in past 11pm. This motel made me feel right at home. My only complaint was that the pillows were way too hard. I ended up buying 2x $5 pillows from Walmart and I got a much better sleep the second night. The motel is also on a busy road so you should bring earplugs for nighttime in case you're a light sleeper.
- Chantel (8/5): - Good for price
- Garry (2/5): - We could park our bike outside our door. Bonus
Room was dirty, bad pillows, noisy, right by the highway, screen door slammed shut....
- Jeffrey (8/5): - The hosts were very nice and accommodating. The room I stayed at was a 2 star rating. Needs updating, relocate the smoking butt disposal pail outside room from air intake of air conditioner. Hair found on opposite bed inside sheets which tells me sheets they weren't clean. Room is a non-smokers room but smells badly of smoke. Room definitely needs updating.
Positive was the price, very reasonable. Staff were very nice. Location of motel was excellent and central to everything. Room did the job for the price.
- Trevor (8/5): - The Orangeville Motel is exactly what you should expect. A low cost motel. It isn't a deluxe hotel and doesn't claim to be.
It's a good place to stay, nothing fancy
- Eric (10/5): - Everything was just fine and the hosts were great.
- Laurie (8/5): - It was very quiet and clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): Don’t give them your credit card information - As far as the motel itself, it was your average motel… average.
I was pleased that they offered pet friendly rooms, for a few of course, but I have a hard time with the service.
I am unhappy with them, very rude and I’m very unhappy with their communication with Hotels.com which is who I booked my room through. My travel plans were changed and hotels.com. contacted the motel to alter my reservation and but they did not receive any responses back from the motel, although I was given a copy of the emails sent to them… this went on for several days up until the point that I would have to pay a penalty to cancel my reservation ($339, the whole amount of my stay).
They were even contacted about cancelling my reservation but were unsuccessful, and even told me directly that they had not received any cancellation……
On top of that they charged my card before I even checked in (the day of).
During all of this when I had contacted them directly about my reservation being changed and them not responding, they hung up on me
- Wendy (8/5): - Small room tv didn’t work. Rock hard pillows. Friendly staff. Clean facilities worked for my needs thank you
- Ihateshityhotels (4/5): Orangeville motel (keep driving) - Outdated. For the money they charge for this maybe 2 star motel it’s sad. -20 outside and you come back to a room that they turn the heat pretty well off..which is a huge piss off. Never again. Run down and they have this stupid charge of $100 that you get back if you’re good lol but still take your credit card info..hair all over different surfaces including the supplied cups in the room. The bed feels like a “soft” sheet of ply wood. Thanks for nothing, ill never be back. Spend the bit extra $ and go somewhere clean.
- Sandra (10/5): - Well is a motel and dated really nice staff, No plug to have a bath. Cleaner small well kept. They called a few times though even though I said we were going to be late arrival.
- Patricia (6/5): - Room was large and clean but very outdated.
- Arlene (4/5): - Very basic room but clean. Chain lock was removed from door. We arrived and I had a glass of wine before leaving for dinner.Locked door upon leaving. When we returned from dinner the glass I had used was missing from the room and the wine bottle had its cap removed. Didn’t like the idea of our room being entered while we were gone.
- Allen (4/5): - It was close to the location I needed to be at.
- melissa (2/5): - I had a reservation and there was a note on the door saying back in 30 minutes ... but it was more like an hour. Nobody was at the desk which
- shawn (2/5): - Property was so dirty my construction worker crew wouldn't even sleep here. They opted to sleep in their trucks for the night as this was the only place in town with availability and they were just disgusted by the shape of the place. I was sent photos and agreed with them. When I contacted the property about checking out after one night rather than the whole week I was told that their policy was to charge me for another night as well. I assume for an inconvenience fee. Imagine how inconvenient it was to sleep in a truck rather than a room while working out of town.
- Joseph (8/5): - Bear in mind it is a Motel not a Hotel. Room was clean, everything worked, water was hot, microwave and fridge were useful, A/C worked very well, price was very reasonable.
- SugarCane (10/5): - Great motel see you guys back again, maybe a swimming pool could be added for next year would be great for the hot days
- Anthony (8/5): - Lovely private lawn area with small creek and wild turkeys.
- RICK (4/5): - old and in need of a refreshing
- Skyler (6/5): - .
- Sharon (10/5): - This motel is dated but has everything you need. Bed was comfy, sheets were clean, towels smelled amazing, shower was hot, coffee pot was clean. There's nothing more you can ask for. Great stay!
- nicholas (10/5): - Much cleaner than expected.
- Chery (6/5): - This hotel is located right off the highway so it’s very convenient to locate and park. Close to a lot of activities in Orangeville. Yes, the room is dated but it is very clean and functional for what we need it for one night stay. The owner came out to say hi to us and visited for a while. Very friendly man.
- Zhanyun (8/5): Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover - I stayed overnight in Orangeville Motel in Mono, Ontario while visiting Toronto. The price was great!!! Location was right off of Rte 10. Pulling in I thought my stay would not be good because the exterior of the premises was very dated and could use some sprucing up but I was warmly greeted by several of the staff at check in and everything seemed to go smoothly from then on. There was plenty of free parking on the premises. There were plenty of eateries, grocery stores, etc within short driving distance from the motel. Check in was very smooth. They do require a 100 dollar deposit which was returned on check out. The room was actually much nicer than the exterior. I thought the room was very clean, spacious. Carpet looked new. If it wasn't new, it looked quite clean. Clean linens. Clean bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Very comfortable bed. AC worked well. Coffee maker in the room. Microwave and possibly a fridge in the room(not sure about the fridge). Basic complimentary toiletries. No breakfast available but for the price I wasn't upset about that. Check out was fast. All in all, I had no issues and would stay there again if in the area.
- Thomas (10/5): - Nice convenient motel for hiking the Bruce trail. Stayed two nights and drove to the trail!
- Lori (2/5): - This property was dirty and very poorly maintained
- Diana (8/5): - Good value.
- Michael (2/5): Not a nice place. - Noisy place. Old, needs renovation, paint , new doors, , needs screen doors, new towels.
- Giulia (8/5): - Did the trick if you need a bed and a roof. Nothing fancy. Overall good night
- Lori (4/5): - Pictures look better on line. Not all ementities that are listed in ad were in the room. Cannot get extra towels. In double room but only allowed 2 towels. And have to hand in dirty towels to get more. It was an ok stay. But not sure i would go there again.
- Arvind (8/5): - Everything ok
- Madison (2/5): - The motel was pretty clean overall, although the staff weren't very hospitable. Be prepared to be told toilet paper is expensive if you ask for an extra roll for your room (its 1 ply, bring your own or kiss your butt goodbye), the tv didn't work, if you get the floor wet and decide to dry it with an already stained towel they will ask you for $10 to cover the "damages".
- Megan (10/5): - Cute little motel, walking distance to restaurants, friendly and helpful staff :)
- David (4/5): - One bed did not have a comforter. Non-smoking room reeked of smoke. There was a hole in the bathroom door the size of a fist. There was no hot water. The sink was filthy, noticed only after removing the towel which had either been left there by the prior guest or was deliberately put there by staff to hide what would inevitably be found below. Only saving graces were heat that worked, below-average but serviceable wifi, and… free parking I guess? Oh, and a mini-fridge… I didn’t use it so can’t say for sure that it worked (probably not), but you’ll want to make use of it if you plan on staying here.
- Susan (2/5): - Don’t stay there!
Only good thing was I was able to get a full refund.
- Stephen (6/5): - Suits it’s purpose
- Lyn (4/5): - The door was hard to open. Key would not turn easily.
Dead bolt inside did not work. Room was cold, and thermostat did not work. Bathroom was grubby. Needed a paint job. Towels had lipstick marks on them. For the price I would not recommend this place,
- Toofan (2/5): - If it's all you can afford then it is what it is but if you can
- Verified traveler (10/5): - this motel is excellent and i will recommend it to lots of people ! A great place to hang your hat .! very friendly and courteous people !
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms smelled old . The door in the barheoom had a whole in it. The shower had hair in it that wasnt ours .
- Allen (6/5): - oN
- Trail793805 (2/5): Disgusting - Place should be condemned. Old horrible beds, sheets, towels, thin walls.
They inspect the room before you leave and insist you stay outside the room and then decide how much to keep of your $100 deposit.
If it cost $40 I could laugh off EVERYTHING about the place.
I left before sunrise because of the noise.
- Verified traveler (8/5): basic stay - It’s a no frills motel at a good price. Close to the Bruce trail for hiking.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The prize / quality is not good for this Motel, we paid 85 cad$
