Guest Reviews
- Cindy (10/5): - Had an awesome time in orangeville attending my brothers wedding. The people are extremely friendly, polite and helpful everywhere we went.
- Howard (10/5): - When I arrived the staff were friendly and personable. Very easy to deal with.
- Alfonso (6/5): - Poorly maintained motel. Noise from stomping on the upper floor. The sheets were stained, and there were hairs in the tub.
- Gerald (10/5): - The TV would not turn on.
- Latchman (4/5): - The room was dimly lit. The TV set up did not work. No instructions. When asked the staff at check in, she told us that her husband would come by in 5 mins to fix it.That never happened. The bathroom was less than adequate. The electrical receptacle would not securely hold what device was plugged into it. The faceplate of the outlet was painted. ( against the Electrical Code ) Very Old and Used motel that can use an update.
- Raymond (10/5): - Was practical for our need
- Gurpreet (4/5): - .
- Agossou (2/5): - Bugs in the bed.
- paul (6/5): - There was a fire at next door restaurant when i checked in.could use a refresh..
- Joan (10/5): - Easy to find
Good parking
- Stephanie (10/5): - Nice cute room great option for the price would definitely stay again if in the area
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Service was great. It was quiet. Some renovations had been done. Our big concern was it was dirty.
- Tammara (8/5): - Just the basics but comfortable for our 1 night stay. Ask for a room away from the lobby as the noise from the upstairs apartment was very distracting; lots of walking and moving about that we could here in our unit.
- Charles (10/5): Great say - Was very good, the hotel was awesome
- Peter (6/5): Not bad stay - Upon arrival, they said didnt have our reservation, young woman didn't believe we had a reservation, showed the confirmation, managed to get a room, tv reception poor
- Dylan (10/5): - Renovated very nicely, great access to downtown, very quiet, and the ac blows cold!
Very pleased to have stumbled upon the Atlanta
- Khushpreet (10/5): - Clean and peaceful
- Rick (6/5): - Initial room appearef it had just been slept in. Hair on the pillow and stains on the comforter. Hair in the tub as well. Second room eas just ok but acceptable. Blood stain on the curtain however.
- Sean (10/5): - Not new. Not perfect. Clean, quiet, and safe. Everything worked. I had control over the temperature. The shower drained properly. The hot water was hot. No wierd smells. There were people staying on either side but I heard nothing. Felt comfortable parking my motorcycle outside over night. Fridge and microwave were appreciated. Wifi was functional. Check in was professional and brief. No issues. Would stay there again.
- Glen (10/5): - The room was very clean and comfy and very spacious..like having mini fridge and a microwave too!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fair for price - Room 6: Beds are firm but not uncomfortable. Walls could use a good wash, but vanity (which was outside the washroom) ,toilet & tub were clean. No hair dryer or iron / ironing board. Towels were stained a bit but smelled clean
- Marcie (10/5): - Very quiet and relaxing.
- Mike (4/5): - Place is in need of a reno. Would only stay here if it was the only option.
- Ian (6/5): - The room was very clean and well equipped. The room I was in smelled like cigarette smoke. The paint was peeling off the wall in the bathroom. Overall, it was good value for an overnight stay, for the price. The other hotels in the area, were more than $100 more expensive. The counter staff were very nice.
- Joshua (2/5): - Entire room was dirty including bedding
- Marci (8/5): - It was clean. The sink with a huge vanity was located outside the washroom!
- Siddharth (8/5): 6/10 - It was okay
- nancy (10/5): Excellent - Very quiet clean and very friendly
- ROSE ANN (10/5): - The room was clean and comfy.
- Josh (2/5): - There is a reason its a $100. Walked in, checked the bathroom, ants crawling around the toilet. I took a video, and showed the clerk. They offered me another room, but i insisted on the refund. No issues there. Paide a bit more but stayed at the Hampton up the road.
- Ruby (6/5): - Staff were very accommodating
- Ruby (6/5): - Needs updating on flooring
- Patrick (10/5): - Jbvjh
- Andrew (6/5): - The motel was pretty much what one should expect for a motel of this type. The rooms were reasonably large, lots of clean, hot water for showers, comfortable beds with clean linen.
The service was good - prompt and positive.
The TV did not have any cable service in either of the rooms we stayed in, the towels were well-worn. These are the only complaints we had.
- Coralee (4/5): - The lady at the desk was very rude
- Jacob De (8/5): - A hook or towel bar near the shower would have been very convenient.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Only staying for the one night. Room was clean, staff friendly. I’ll definitely book again when in the area.
- Rob (4/5): - There was mold on the walls and in the corners and the sheets had stains on them and the carpet was dirty in some areas. The showers are nice and new looking and plenty of hot water. The dead bolt on the door wouldn’t work. Yes you need a card to enter the unit but a working deadbolt would be nice. Told the lady at the front desk about it and all she said was, “ok”. Didn’t apologize or ask to be shown the issue. For $141 for the night, I’ll spend the extra $100 and go to best western.
- Shelagh (8/5): - We liked our room. Still going under renovations and rough outside but if they can finish them it could be a great little business. Inside the room there were minor issues like a light plate to be replaced, some caulking to be done in washroom and more attention to detail otherwise the bed was very comfy, internet was fine. There is a large work table in the center of the room which is HUGE. It needs to be smaller as my husband tripped on the chair that stuck out and now has a bruise on his leg. This was in the dark of night. We moved the chair at bedtime as you could not get through to go to the washroom but he forgot he moved it an that is when he walked into it. His fault I suppose. Place even had a small couch and table which was a bonus. The young man that runs the front desk was very nice.
- Rod (10/5): - Friendly staff
- James (10/5): - Nice room with coffee machine. Comfortable bed.
- Marg (6/5): - It was an ok place to stay I just needed a place to stay for the evening. when I opened the fridge it had not been cleaned out, there were still items in it. Makes you wonder how well the rest of the room was cleaned. Staff were not very friendly, felt like I was disturbing them.
- michellecI4087RM (2/5): Disgusting - Absolutely disgusting place to stay. I had an emergency at my house with no Hydro and water so I had to go to this motel I get there the TV is off the wall and broken. The room is absolutely disgusting. There was no comforter on the beds. the sheets were filthy. The chair in the corner was absolutely filthy Plastic curtains had cigarette burns in them and we’re frayed beyond compare you could stick your hand through it in the middle of the blizzard. The snow was coming through the inside door freezing in there. Blood stains on the walls. The walls were dirty, with God knows what lampshades were broken and dirty, and it absolutely stunk in there The other people that live in the hotel full-time were up partying, so did not sleep at all , then I get up to go to the bathroom at 6 o’clock in the morning and found a mouse in the toilet. I called the front desk to get some help and they told me that the office wasn’t open until 9 o’clock so honestly this hotel should be condemned. Do not stay there if you can absolutely help it .
- Dariusz (10/5): - Very clean room and friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay. Also perfect wi fi.
- Dominique (10/5): - For a motel it was clean, quiet, the staff was amazing! It was great
- Stephen (8/5): - Heater too loud
- Verified traveler (6/5): Atlanta Motel - Twice as expensive asit should be for the value.....Heater was broken down, thermostat did not work.freezer was over frosted so could not get inside the freezer so it was replaced,TV was good but difficult to turn on and manoevre because the remote batteries were weak....excuses were made for the maintenance as he claims he cannot get anyone to do the repairs for the Motel but the owner is driving a Tesla Electric Car so that shows that he is too cheap to pay the right people to make the repairs necessary.
- Peter (8/5): - Clean friendly and convenient
- Cassandra (8/5): - It was a great accommodation. 10 mins from the event we were attending and reasonable pricing!
- Kyle (8/5): - Ignore older reviews. Room was clean, toilet didn’t mattress was great, furnishings were in decent shape, it was quiet, staff was friendly and available, neighbours were not an issue -all these concerns I read about were actually not a problem and they are updating the place add slowly it looks like.
Great little place to rest your head. Dated and smelled a little smoky and I needed help with the door twice. Great price friendly staff. Super convenient location for me while I was in town for a few days in business by myself and couldn’t justify the price of the Best Western which was more than double the cost of this place.
- Monica (10/5): - Excellent on all the important things: comfortable bed, pillows and bedding; clean room, vanity, bathroom, floors and bar fridge, air conditioning, wifi, tv and bar fridge all in excellent working condition. Staff delivered ironing board and ice as requested, plus unexpected extra towels.
- Victor (10/5): - We needed to stay after a wedding rather than a late night drive home. This motel was just perfect for us
- Victor (10/5): - The rooms were clean End it was close to the destination I was going to
- Alison (8/5): - Staff was friendly and was easy to check in and park etc. the room was clean. The bathroom/shower area was small but good the sink was out in the main area. only one coffee cup and one plastic water cup for a room that holds 4 people.
- Janneke (6/5): - Good it was available, but I had called in am to say I was going to be late checking in around 8pm. They didn't seem to expect me at all. The young man checking me in was courteous but not very professionally dressed (jogging pants and tshirt). Room was cold but clean.
- Matthew (8/5): - It was good for the price. Toilet wasn’t firmly bolted to the floor (it shook a bit). That was annoying
- Sandra (6/5): - Room was filthy...stains on sheets...toilet not bolted to floor...Carpet about 40 years old....did not stay there...found something else.
- Cory or Kate van (8/5): - Very conveniently located. Only concern was that the toilet was not properly secured to the floor, which made it rock a bit and raises concerns about the adequacy of the sewer gas seal. No adverse odor noticed though.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Near to downtown Orangeville and shopping and restaurants were nearby. Beds can be updated plus the toilette was very unstable. I was afraid it will tip over every time I sat on it.
- cdnwolf29 (2/5): Disgusting! - Where do I begin? 🤔 well I travelled from up north to Orangeville Feb 12th with my wife. We arrived at the motel and were greeted at the front desk. Very polite and pleasant. They only had 1 room with 2 queen beds, perfect. Then we were asked if we wanted to be charged for 2 beds or just 1? Weird but, just the 1 please.
The room - So after we paid our $100 deposit and $100 room rate, we entered our room, we looked around and quickly noticed the smell of a thousand cigarettes with a filthy ash tray on the table of our non smoking room. The tv was on a weird animal blooper loop that played over and over again. The buttons on the tv didn’t work and the remote had no batteries. Tried to call front desk but the room phone wasn’t working. As we continue to look around, we notice there’s some sort of filth dripping down the walls. The bedsheets appeared to be clean but the comforter was dirty and had burn holes.
Bathroom - yes I had to make the bathroom it’s own category because it IS that bad. First, the vanity was located outside of the bathroom, just kind of over there in the corner. The sink was clean and had a cold water tap. If you wanted hot water, there was a pair of vice grips attached to the stem for you to use. The same filth was dripping down these walls as well. The shower curtain was torn half off and the faucet in the tub was falling apart. There was what looked like year old urine around the base of the toilet. The shower rod broke away from the wall and was reattached beside the gaping hole it had created. No towels instead there was a bath mat for use.
My wife and I went out almost right away. It is -20 Celsius in Orangeville. We turned the heat on to warm the room while we were out. The heater is a manual one, there is no thermostat. We returned later to find it had been turned off and the room was freezing. 🤔
When we left we had to wait while they inspected the room for damages. I’m sorry but I couldn’t do anymore to the room to make it worse. We received our refund for the deposit.
Why stay? I came down due to a family emergency. I couldn’t afford the time to look elsewhere as I had more important things at hand.
Expectations - I like motels and the stigma behind them. To me they’re fun and interesting. I expect to have basic amenities and old fashioned linens and such. I do not expect to have filth and mold. Broken TVs and appliances.
I have attached pictures of all these issues. See below,
- Trail793805 (2/5): Terrible place - Deplorable location conditions. If it was $40 I would not feel so overcharged. Stay elsewhere. Don't trust them with a credit card. They will inspect the room and insist you not be in the room and then decide how much they charge out of your $100 deposit.
Noisy, terrible bed, sheets, towels...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beds and pillows were comfy. Nice stay, quiet. For an overnight stay it was very good
- ali (10/5): Good surprise - Was skeptic to book this place as it was 2.5 stars but it was supper clean and good location with everything you’d expect like coffee machine fridge wifi full cable
- catherine (6/5): ive this place a chance - Staff was friendly and room was very clean, but bed springs kept poking us, the toilet wasnt fully connected to the floor so moved when you sat down, and there was no warning abt the $100 room deposit when booking. Beds didnt seem Queen sized. The old guy living long-term in the room next to us was talking loudly to himself till almost 3am outside and kept waking us, and the group of 20-something yr olds living full-time 3-4 doors down tried to sell us drugs upon arrival. The friendly staff did say they are in the process of renovating, so I would give this place another chance for sure. Great location with lots near-by like a Shoppers, Timmy's, 7-11, etc and the wifi was great
- Phil (8/5): - It was a nice stay, easy to get to,.lots of delicious places to eat, comfortable sleep
- margaretf138 (8/5): Excellent Value - The staff are VERY friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had everything I needed. Bed was comfortable, as was the sofa for sitting watching TV. Nice to have the mini fridge & microwave. Coffee pot is an essential for me. Excellent TV and internet. Best location for convenience to dining & groceries. I was in town for a medical procedure at Headwaters Hospital. This hotel is the best choice as I was under driving restrictions for a couple of days.
- Jo (6/5): - Paint job is poorly done. The toilet is loose and rocks. The bathroom is outdated a d in poor condition. The doors and trim are in dire need of cleaning/painting. Beds were comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good motel for sleep and shower - If you’re looking for a place to rest your head and take a shower, it’s a good motel.
- A2476SMjoed (6/5): Need of maintenance - Went here for the weekend and stayed in the same room as last year, walls and furniture's are in need of some loving care, a simple paint job would do wonders. All I can say is a cheap place to stay overnight,
- Brenda (6/5): Good price - Based on previous reviews I found the motel room better than I expected. The room was very spacious with couch , microwave and coffeemaker and fridge. The room was very dated and the bathroom was also very dated but the bed was good and room was clean .
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel was not clean, the tv did not work, the toilet had some sort of disgusting padding attached to the toilet seat, the toilet moved when you sat on it, the sink wasn't properly attached to the counter, the wifi did not work, the decor was very dated. The hotel employee who checked us in was polite and friendly.
- commercequeen (10/5): excellent sleep - nothing wrong with this motel excellent price, great King bed room was very clean, full TV selection, restaurant right beside the motel coffee available in the room. even though on the main street my wife and I found it very quiet. all the rooms face west and not towards the street. the front desk personnel were very friendly I assume they were owner and daughter. all you people who criticize this place this is not Best Western or the Marriott but a well run independently owned establishment we will be back again as we have stayed here twice before
- Elsie (6/5): - Bed was horrible
- mjoannette (4/5): 2 Star...maybe 1 star - This is a very worn out motel...old furniture, hard bed, tv worked and for the most part it was clean. Overall, there is not that much to choose from in Orangeville and this will do if all you are looking for just a night's sleep with a roof over your head.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bathroom was in very poor condition. There was lack of temperature control for the heater. It was either very hot or very cool.
- Sandy (4/5): - This hotel provided a good location. The bathroom was very dirty, unmentionables on the walls, floors, and around toilet. Needs vast improvements in the housekeeping department. Beds were comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Could not regulat heat, toilet noisey, coffee machine not good and no creamer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - proper maintenance needed broken door need some renovation
- tmc-7 (6/5): Good spot for business - The Atlanta isn't a beautiful, luxury hotel, but it is clean and affordable. The front desk clerk was helpful and our check in was quick and easy. Good place to stop when we're in that area. We use it whenever we are working in the Orangeville/Caledon area.
- Elemes613 (4/5): Well. It had a roof. - This is a very basic low budget motel. It was dated, room smelled like stale smoke, beds were old and firm, lighting poor, bathroom caulking mildewed.
However, as is often the case in Orangeville, this was the only vacancy.
If you find yourself in a similar situation, swallow your pride. It has a roof, and a place to lay your head, for a very cheap price.
If staying here - be sure to visit the Déjà Vu restaurant directly next door .... yummy!!!
- 411ingridg (6/5): It's a 2 star, what do you expect? - My niece was getting married at the millcroft but there was no vacancy so we had to book at Atlanta motel. Well I am disappointed not to get to stay at millcroft because it's beautiful. Atlanta is an acceptable place to stay. The beds are nice, the sleeping area is clean though with old worn out furniture. I just really hated the bathroom. It was old and not very dirty. Lots of mold and mildew. Ok for a 1 night stay but a long stay I would not want to use the shower or bath.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Postage stamp bathroom. - I asked the desk when confirming my reservation that I needed an accessible washroom. As a large lady I need enough room to move myself into a position that I can clean underneath. I couldn’t even get my right leg between toilet and tub. The bed had a smell to it. Not unpleasant but it aggravated my asthma.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room ok, could of been a little cleaner. Exterior rough, staff friendly, helpful. Decent for the cost.
- A2476SMjoed (6/5): Place to sleep - I stay here because it is a budget friendly motel and it's centrally located. Good place to sleep. The room was outdated, needs a little paint and some new furniture, but kept clean. My room came with a fridge, tv, microwave and a coffee maker. There is a restaurant next door for breakfast and take out coffee . I stay here and will keep on staying here when I visit Orangeville.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean motel for one night it was fine, bed was comfortable
- SDN24 (2/5): OMG THE WORST!!! - This place has to be the most disgusting ever. For someone in Canada to own and manage a room like this and charge $96 for a night is shameful.
Virtually every surface was dirty even the mugs and glasses, someone else's dirty toilet paper on the floor and hair in the bathtub etc etc
- Jim (2/5): No room at the inn - Despite getting confirmations from Expedia, when I arrived at the hotel, the clerk told me that there was no room available. Supposedly, this was not the only time that this had happened, and involving Expedia! The clerk was very cooperative and arranged a room at another hotel for the same price, but the mess-up caused serious inconvenience and time-wasting.
- Ken (4/5): Don't Go There - When I arrived, the man at the front desk charged me for the room, even though I had booked and paid for the room through Orbitz. When it came time to leave, the front desk area was closed and locked. Although I rang the bell repeatedly and knocked on the door, no one answered. I was ripped off by this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The facility is definitely dated but it was clean and the staff were friendly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty, unprofessional, uncomfortable stay. Found drug residue in our room, walls, bathroom and towels were dirty. I’d never recommend this place and would definitely never stay here again.
- tia (10/5): Nice hotel close by downtown - This hotel is a very quiet and very clean one. The staff are very friendly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dump! - We did not stay! Room was filthy! Can't believe this place has not been shut down by Health Board...
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel was very outdated. Curtains did not completely cover the window. Fridge was in an awkward place, and the water was not pleasant.
- Laura (10/5): - It was a good stay, clean owners friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant beside motel only open until 2 but breakfast was great
- Tom (2/5): Extremely Dirty! - This motel has to be one of the most unclean places I’ve ever experienced. There were holes in the walls & ceiling, cigarette holes in the bedding, brown stuff on the toilet bowl and floor and the door frame to the outside looked like it had been ripped and tampered with. There was no second lock (deadbolt).
When we first arrived, no one was waiting and there were 2 people behind the desk. They made us wait to check in because they were doing something else.
We did not feel safe enough to actually stay there, so we decided to leave. We didn’t stay for the night we paid for.
- Verified traveler (2/5): MOTEL WORKER LEAVES DOOR WIDE OPEN UNATTENDED - Worst motel stay EVER! I have been traveling and staying in motels/hotels for 20+ years, and the Atlanta Motel was the WORST stay somewhere yet! First off when I arrived, they only had me booked in for 1 night instead of 2. My key to my room was not programmed so after lugging everything out of my car, I had to lug it up to the office to have it programmed. I left early Saturday morning and returned to my motel at 10:30 am to find my motel room door WIDE OPEN with no one inside. I walked to office and of course no one was there. The man "on duty" came out of the supply room (which when he was inside, the door was closed and he was no where to be seen) saw me. I said i just came back to my room and my door was open. He told me he was "cleaning" which he was not. No one was in my room nor was anyone around my room. I asked for no one to re enter my room for the weekend. I left once again and kept all lights on in my room. When I returned, lights had been turned off in my room meaning someone had once again entered my room after I asked no one to enter my room. Of course when I went to check out and file a complaint, no one was around!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We found an open beer can in a fairly conspicuous place on the floor.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel prices have gone up a lot lately. $92 per night was more than we would normally pay for a run of the mill room. Clean, but realistically it should be a $69/night motel.
- Jim (6/5): Inexpensive - Clean room, fridge/microwave/coffee, not bad for an older place
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is a very old motel. Window was left up on the outside screen door. Window and door were dirty. Furniture had stains. Bathroom needs plaster work but was clean and bedding was clean and comfortable. I didn't try wifi. Tv was 'okay'. I would not return.
