• Raechung (8/5): - Nice hotel near water but room is plain. Bathroom shower design can only get in one way so you can easily walk in with totally soaked by cold water or hot water. Also, the shower head is designed for very tall people. My husband is 6’1, and he can’t even adjust it.

Housekeeping only covered towel service, beds weren't made. Breakfast is like a restaurant offering mostly expensive, heavy egg-based dishes. At night, many guests were very noisy in the hallways. The swimming pool didn't represent the pictures and felt very outdated.

Very nice staff all of them around when I needed something with anything they’re right there. Great location close to the lake, pool was pleasant, beautiful Adirondack chairs, nice outside seating for either brunch or dinner. Thank you! I like everything about the property. There is nothing I didn’t like.

Bed was very comfortable the plug-ins for devices did not work on one side of the bed. The pull-out sofa was difficult to maneuver in the space, and the mattress was VERY thin and uncomfortable! definitely need a better system! A twin daybed system would work better for one person. Also the sliding door to the bathroom was almost impossible for an older person to shift! It was too heavy and did not not slide easily on the track. It would be nice if you could get coffee or tea for free in the morning at the cafe. the Kreurig in the room is too tiny.

The thing that really upset me was the prices at the hotel for food. A soft pretzel was $25. Come on. That is totally outrageous. The most ridiculous thing about the hotel was there was no dresser in the room. It was crazy. I had to put my clothes in the small drawer of the night stand. Good thing we only stayed for 3 nights and didn’t have a lot of extra clothes with us. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. We paid $995 for a 3 night stay. That is a lot of money and you would expect at least a place to put your clothes and free breakfast.

• HowieB53 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE. - DO NOT STAY HERE. We booked a two bedroom, two bathroom Corner View Condo for five days, four nights, with our two grandchildren, seven and four years old. Upon arrival late Wednesday afternoon, we received a one bedroom, one bathroom Corner View Condo, with an adjoining room with two queen beds. The doors to the adjoining room could be locked from either side and there was a separate door to the hallway which our four-year-old grandson immediately unlocked and ran to the elevator. The Inn was totally unaccommodating and would not/did not offer or provide other accommodations. My wife and I had no choice but to sleep in one of the beds in the adjoining room, with the grandchildren sharing the other bed. We never took occupancy of the one bedroom, one bathroom Corner View Condo and returned the keys, which were immediately deactivated. We then discovered that the adjoining room had no closets; the bathrobes provided on hangers were lying on the floor of a cubicle. Also, in lieu of the full kitchen in the one bedroom, one bathroom Corner View Condo, the adjoining room only had a mini refrigerator. The multiple cabinets contained no glasses, cups, dishes or silverware. We were told to call the restaurant, they had plenty. There was also no table, chairs, couch or desk. We returned from the beach at 5:30 Thursday afternoon and discovered the room had not been made-up. We called the front desk and were advised that the housekeepers left at 5:00 p.m. Irene, the very nice lady at the front desk, volunteered to clean our room. Thursday evening, we met with an assistant manager and supervisor (who had her own four-year old), both of whom claimed to understand, but needed to talk to their manager. On Friday, our exhausted grandchildren slept until 9:30 am, while my wife and I stared at the ceiling from 6 am. When they awoke, we then discovered an incredibly nasty email from Amanda Macias, the Rooms Division Manager, advising that we could either leave the hotel by 11 am (in 90 minutes) or we would be responsible for the charges for both rooms for the duration of our stay (we had already been relegated to the adjoining room for two nights). Friday, housekeeping surprised us by removing, and not replacing the glasses and silverware; we never received any cups or dishes. They also removed the unused extra towels. Apparently, four people are only allowed four towels? Our room may have been cleaned Saturday morning while we were at breakfast. We weren’t sure as the beds weren’t made, until we saw the tip was gone. Does this sound like the hospitality business? Our experience is consistent with the other reviews which we didn’t see before booking.

• Erin (10/5): - ⸻ We stayed at this lovely inn while celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The room was very clean and the whole place had a peaceful, quiet atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing getaway. It’s also in a great location, just a short drive or walk to downtown St. Joseph, which made exploring the area super convenient. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The only minor downside was that the pool could have been a bit cleaner, but overall we had no complaints. We’d absolutely stay here again!

• carriebV8736XJ (10/5): Everything I had hoped for on our vacation! - I visited with my kids. Check in was a breeze and the margarita upon checking in was a nice touch to kick off the vacation. Our room was beautiful and clean and the harbor view was lovely. We enjoyed watching boats coming and going. The quarry across the way didn’t bother us in the least. Housekeeping was prompt each day. We made good use of the pool and coffee shop and s’mores kits each day, and appreciated shuttle rides from Fritz and Mike to explore the surrounding area of St. Joseph. My only one complaint, and it was minor, was the sliding door to our bathroom was really difficult to slide back and forth. Otherwise it was an amazing trip and we would definitely return to the Inn at Harbor Shores!

• angiepH3795AZ (8/5): Girls weekend trip - Room was clean, comfy bed and good pillows. Facility was nice and in a great location. Resort fee was kinda high for the accessible amenities and the air conditioner was very loud but over all we enjoyed our stay.
• Shelly (9/5): I loved the spa experience. I needed it after moving. - The spa, and location Hot tub was kind of dirtiest, floaties, which we saw the last time I was there 2 years ago!!! 🤮 Definitely could use a very good cleaning!!! One of the guys who worked there kept walking around and watching me and my female friend. Two women in a hot tub and the guy kept coming out and watching us. Creepy. I mentioned it to a staff member. The person knew who I was talking g about and chuckled. Weird

• Robert (6/5): - Upon check-in, we had to wait as there was a sign up on the counter stating the clerk was busy. Planks was decent, but the service was terribly slow. Probably bad timing just all around. Would stay there again just wouldn’t rush back.

• Ted (6/5): Close but no Cigar - This hotel is in a great location with lots of opportunities for different types of fun. The downside is you are expected to deliver the level of service commiserate with the price you charge. We were gone all day, only to find out that our towels had not been replaced and the room had not been serviced. When we called the front desk we were blown off and told we must not have realized our towels have been replaced, even though they were still stacked up where we left them on the floor in the morning. There are lots of positive with this property, but until they get the polish on the “service” aspect of what they do, it will never reach potential.

• PatR692 (6/5): Don’t Pay Extra for Harbor View - Don’t pay extra for a harbor view. The view is of construction materials site on the far shore. Don’t get harbor view if you want peace and relaxation. It overlooks the outdoor bar and restaurant. Noisy. And noisy from the construction materials site.

• Sarah (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay! From the time we entered we were greeted with margaritas. Staff was fantastic. Pool area was wonderful. Also enjoyed riding bikes, which are free and taking a paddle boat ride. We were there over the 4th of July and the pool area had a DJ. Not too far of a walk to the beach. We will definitely be back!
• David (8/5): Lovely stay, lovely staff! But not cheap 😉 - The hotel overall was very good, certainly on par with the best in the area. Staff were both professional and friendly, and a nice unexpected perk was that the shuttle was on call whenever you needed it, not just on the hour or half hour. As was clear from the map location, the water overlook was of the river leading out to the lake, not the lake itself, so that was a given. Unfortunately, directly across the river was an industrial site for storage and loading of gravel. Not much to be done about it, but it does mar what would otherwise be a really nice view. We were offered free margaritas upon check-in, and post dinner s'mores at the fire pits on the veranda. It being a holiday weekend, we expected quite a large crowd of tourist families, and were 100% correct. So, we didn't end up using the smallish indoor and outdoor pools, but we did eat dinner and breakfast at the very well-designed restaurant. Dinner was a little disappointing (lukewarm ribs and the whitefish entree was just OK), but breakfast was fabulous (great, interesting selections on the menu). We enjoyed the french toast and the freshly pulled corned beef in the hash & eggs. At $685 all in for the night, it was a very expensive overnight, and that may be why my expectations were pretty high. You'll pay much less than that during mid-week or off season. But what really makes a place shine is the people, and the folks at The Inn were definitely its greatest asset.

• Margaret (6/5): - The view from our room was good. Didn't know that there was a sand/gravel unit across the water from the hotel, that was a downer. Felt that the property was overpriced for the area. The rooms were ok. We had a connecting room with another family, who were a bit noisy. The Planks restaurant on site was very good. Staff was nice everywhere. Not sure if we'd stay here again due to cost.

• James (8/5): - Hotel is very nice over all. Room was visited two of the three days by housekeeping. Restaurant service was extremely slow especially when ordering only salads. Waiter was very kind and apologetic. Our meal was comped and we were handed our salads as we left. The hotel is not very assessable for families wanting to visit the beach. You must walk up the sidewalk which is on a highway exit ramp and then over a bridge.

• Tamhicks10 (6/5): Pricey place to stay - We celebrated our anniversary in St. Joe and booked a room for one night. Below are the pros and not so pros from our stay. Pros: 🏖️ Location is near downtown and the beach. Far enough to be away from the masses and not walking distance but hotel has a shuttle. Highly recommend parking at hotel and taking shuttle on weekends. Parking is hard to find downtown on summer weekends. 🏖️ Our room was nice. Third floor. Like the pics on their website. Room is spacious. Clean. Microwave and fridge. 🏖️ we received a margarita at check in. 🏖️ there is an inside and outdoor pool and hot tub inside and out. See below. 🏖️ tiki bar by pool 🏖️ veranda area with chairs to sit outside and watch the harbor. 🏖️ I love it when hotels / air bnb have black washcloth for makeup. This one did. 🏖️ bathroom had exhaust fan. I’m a fan of these in hotels Cons / room for growth: 🏖️ we waited an hour for our food and mine wasn’t that great. Adding five shrimp to my pasta was an extra $12. 🏖️the hotel pool was PACKED because it’s small. Nice but small. Tiki bar was also packed with kids everywhere. Hottub was also full of kids. I’m not anti- children but think it’s important to note that there will be kids running around. This may be a pro for some. I think I was just in shock at the way one particular kid was talking to his mom and because the place is small, we couldn’t get away from the madness. 🏖️ for $514 a night, I was disappointed. Our room overlooked a parking lot and overpass, the one robe in the room had holes in it, the bar in room had boxed water for $4 a piece. Coffee in am was $5 (there is maker in room) the bed was meh and uncomfortable for me. Pillows lumpy. 🏖️ the coffee shop was nice but very small. VERY small. And pricey. 🏖️ late check out is $25 an hour 🏖️spa wasn’t open Sunday 🏖️ the hotel does not control Mother Nature. Just want to note it was dangerously windy and things were flying all over the tiki bar and pool. We were waiting for an umbrella to set sail but I believe they were tied down. Bring clips to keep your towel on chair 🏖️ when we flushed the toilet, it was an intense, MONSTEROUS flush. This wasn’t a con as much as it was funny that it made me jump. 😂 🏖️ the view across the harbour is a rock quarry.
