• PAUL (9/5): Marina motel is a comfortable, clean, good value lodging with basic amenities in central Seward location - Marina Motel is located in proximity, within walking distance of the supermarket Safeway and Seward Harbor where there are many restaurants, shops, tour agencies and beautiful sceneries worthy your photos and memories. The motel rooms are clean with sufficient amenities, coffee/tea/cocoa hot drinks are available in the office day and night, tourist tours tickets can be purchased from the office with good discount. Deana, the office manager, was very helpful with her advices to us for places to visit and restaurants to eat in Seward. She also quickly resolved to our satisfaction a small issue occurred during our 2-day stay. Really appreciate your help Deana. The parking lot has plenty of spaces for vehicles, but a small area is not yet paved and still has gravel on.

Finally hours later we reach someone and they told us they left our key in the red lock box. Well would have been nice to know and how to get in the box . Does no good if you don’t know or know code . Finally got in . Room was stuffy like has not been open in weeks . Carpet nasty. Outlets didn’t work . Room dark with no lamps , very little lighting not worth $200 plus . Only good thing beds were decent

• Michael (10/5): - Very clean and adequate room with refrigerator. Good location with a short walk to the Seward Harbor area and a 20 minute drive to the Kenai Fjords Exit Glacier trailhead. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful reception (Diana). It was a minimalist facility, so there is no exercise room or guest laundry, but it was not a problem. It has a quaint 24 hour coffee room adjacent to the check-in lobby. My group enjoyed our stay here.

• Maria (2/5): - Steep three steps to get to my ‘ground’ room had a broken handrail (& a broken towel bar). The outside broken handrail base was held upright with rocks at the base. You can see the wood is rotten & they are trying to hide it. I almost fell twice going down the steep stairs. FIX IT!
• Stephanie (6/5): - Only reason be took a hotel, we just came out of a backpacking trip from Denali. So we were craving a hot shower. We got hot water for 15 sec and then it turned cold, then it got warm again for 15 seconds and so forth. The bathroom was so narrow you had to sit sideways on the toilet. The bathroom was very tired, the bedroom was better, at least it was spacy. It seemed clean, but usually a tired looking room also makes it look dirty.

• Lukas (10/5): Comfortable and easy! - For a budget motel, this place was honestly clean and welcoming. I'm not sure what other reviewers have to complain about when this place stands out among other budget options. It is clearly cared for and everything was clean and comfortable.

• Don (6/5): - Tough to assess. The property was close to where we needed to be. The folks working there were super nice and efficient. Room was a bit worn, but probably par for the course in Seward. Quick checkin and checkout. But this hotel was full of freakin' right-wing, Trump-lovin' white trash that felt obligated to party oitside their rooms until midnight. Not sure if i was in Alaska or Arkansas. But I cant hold the hotel responsible for their low IQ clientele.

• mjcbiker53 (2/5): Can you say squeezed? - Simple, outdated, hole-in-the-wall. And that's ok for a $70/nite place but this was ~4x that price! But the the worst feature was the less than 4' wide bathroom, which means the facing wall is right in your face when sitting on the pot. Have to believe this may have been the result of a remodel and not all rooms are probably like this, but don't ask for room 4 (I think). Oh, and no air conditioning.

One light didn't work and the other was a headache inducing striplight that constantly flashed. Unfortunately, there was no maintenance person or manager on site to deal with it and all other rooms were full. Eventually, we received a refund and managed to fund another place to stay.

They have a small coffee station available stocked with Keurig coffee, hot cocoa, & tea. Diana took extra time to help us which we really appreciated.

• Ronnie (6/5): Short Stay In Seward,AK - Great location within walking distance of the fishing docks. Pretty clean, but motel is very dated with their security. Had a physical room key that could be easily copied. Very small bathroom and bathtub. The door pictured in the bathroom had a big gap and a guest hallway was on the other side. I’m sure everything we did in the bathroom was heard by anybody in that hallway. They did have self service towels and toiletries which were good quality and very convenient! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice vintage mini fridge in the room was appreciated. Room was very hot, not sure why, but we just opened the windows and it was fine. We stayed in the busy season for 2 nights, $645.

• Gregory (10/5): Great stay - We had one of those days where if it could go wrong it did and Deanna at the Marina Motel saved the day. We called to confirm the reservation before we drove out there and after hearing about our day she not only confirmed the reservation, but when we got there she'd moved us into a bigger room. She went above and beyond to make the stay special for us and our kids.
• Amber (4/5): - The staff was friendly. Bed was pretty comfortable and linens seemed clean and fresh. However, i think my room had black mold on the ceiling and needed a deep clean. A rack and hangers for hanging clothes would have been nice. I appreciated the retro microwave and mini fridge.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly & Clean - We stayed a few night to explore the Kenai Peninsula before embarking on our cruise. The front desk staff was VERY friendly and helpful. The property is dated but was clean and meet our needs. Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa were available in the lobby as well as a microwave. The rooms have small refrigerators with freezers. We would definitely stay again!

• Verified traveler (2/5): Worst place to stay in Seaward with family - The location of this property is awesome, everything else is simply terrible. For the amount of money they charged, I expect beds with wheels. Its a small, dingy, unclean place. No Air con and the heat was in blast and there is no one to man it. I called the hotel number and somwone finLly answered only to sorry for this situation and they will.fix it the next day which didnt happen. Will expect a full refund.
• Arthur (10/5): - The staff here could not have been any better! We took a train from Anchorage to Seward and arrived before our check-in time. The woman at the front desk work with the cleaning crew and we got in with very little wait time. The room was very clean. The cleaning crew did an amazing job. In the evening my daughter went to the front office fir some hot chocolate, but they were out. The front desk staff member said she'd run to the store, get some hot chocolate, knock on our door when she returned and would get us hot chocolate. Talk about going above and beyond, wow, thank you! When I tried to tip, she refused and said she loves her job and no need to tip. Again, wow, who turns down a tip in hotel business when going way above and beyond and says I love my job, no tip needed. This place has some of the BEST staff I've ever seen in the US. I'd know, I've been to 45 states and several countries. Thank you! Great service here, WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

• Karla (5/5): Passable - This was a very basic and welcoming place to stay. The two queen room was large and the beds were comfortable. It was easy to get extra blankets and the coffee/Tea set up in the lobby was very convenient.
• Rachel (2/5): - It was only by chance someone was there to initially check me in. The room was FREEZING, in the 50s. No way to adjust heat. I was given access to 3 plug in space heaters, none of which would work! I didn't bring sufficient clothes to deal with that kind of cold so I went back to get a refund. Posted office hours are 9am to 9pm. No one was at the desk. I continuously rung the bell, banged on the wall, yelled, and called both numbers and no one answered. I had to call my bank and put a stop payment on my card to avoid being charged. I left the hotel at approximately noon, I didn't get a call back from them until 7:36pm. I didn't bother calling them back. I have NEVER had a hotel experience as egregiously bad as that. Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel. NO stars would be more appropriate than 1.

The bathroom is very small, the floor is very dirty and all the room in general too. It’s look old and not well maintained. Don’t expect too much of that place. The only good thing is the location.

• Kimber (1/5): Save yourself! - The pillows were comfortable. The place absolutely filthy. I spent an hour and half cleaning. Thank goodness it has vinyl flooring. I'm pretty sure the bed and refrigerator hadn't been cleaned under ever. There was hair and dirt everywhere. There was a bathroom door that led into the main hallway with a gap big enough for a cat to fit under. The room was so hot that the window had to be left open to breathe. Only that doesn't make you feel particularly safe.

Shower facuet was very lose and not caulked. large gaps in Front door framing. Fire and smoke detector not working and coming off the wall. Mold in window sill, and you had to sit sideways on the toilet to go.

• Karen (10/5): Great budget motel perfectly located near J Dock - We had booked a fishing charter in the harbor, which was literally a one-minute drive from the Marina Motel. We were so happy that they had a vacancy for the night we needed and that they could accomodate our late check-in (midnight). The staff was very friendly and eager to make our stay pleasant. A real plus was their coffee maker in the lobby with half-and-half which was so appreciated for the extremely early wake-up for the fishing charter. The beds were comfortable with soft pillows and the room was clean and everything in good repair. The price fit our budget and we will definitely recommend the Marina Motel to others. Nothing of significance; everything was fine.
• Mary (10/5): - My husband and a friend stayed there for a fishing trip and they thought it was wonderful. Drove by at several times, but never stayed there. Will put that in our list of places to stay for the next time.
• Anthony (4/5): - Basically, this is a place to sleep. The room photos on the website are very deceptive. We were put up in a room around the back of the motel which was very inconvenient and dirty. You couldn't walk on the floor barefoot without felling the grit, the microwave was covered in dust and past occupants' fingerprints, one of the bed covers had cigarette burns in it. It just felt like it got cleaned whenever someone got around to it. The bathroom was OK, and there was hot water. We have stayed in some rather sketchy places in our travels around the world but this one takes the cake! Fortunately, we spent most of our two days in Seward away from the motel. For the owners: If you are going to put your customers in the back of the motel at least make the place presentable and secure. Everything in the room looks like it came from a yard sale.
• Dean (6/5): Unexpectedly clean. Best it could be without a tear down. - Extremely clean. Inexpensive for Seward in season. Got coffee 24/7. Rooms and bathroom very small. Austere decor. Very noisy. No AC.
