Guest Reviews
- KRYSTLE (8/5): - It was nice but, not enough toilet paper... Ran out before the morning. The linens could use a change... They where torn so as the mattress. And they should leave conditioner in the shower.
But other than that slept great. Good coffee in the room.
Awesome area . They have the place to be a great hotel!!
Just need a bit of more touch!
- Ben (10/5): - Amazing location right on the market square. Perfect for a couple looking to be in the heart of Bruges.
- Patrick (6/5): Great location and rooms - The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The location is perfect and there’s an underground car park next door which is secure. The problem is checking in. The front door is locked. No one answered for nearly an hour. One phone number wasn’t answered and the other is out of service
- Carla (8/5): - It was nice stay, two nights in the Charlie room big king bed. Breakfast is at a different hotel around the corner.
- Sandra (10/5): - love the location of this hotel, very comfortable.
- Andreea (6/5): - In description the said they have parking place but they didn’t. I had to pay on public parking. The entrance for room is not how they show in pictures. It is on back of the building in a shady area.
- Tina (8/5): Quaint and charming - This hotel is close to town in a very old building, which gave it charm but also skinny hallways and stairs.Parking was downstairs underneath the freeway, which was a little tricky until you knew what you were doing. Check in was down a back alley where you had to ring a doorbell to be let in. There really wasn’t a reception. We were just walked through a dark hallway into a restaurant where we believe the waiter that checked us in. The room was big and comfortable.
- Annika (10/5): - Jättefint stort rymligt rum. Lite funderingar kring in/utcheckning som inte fungerade 10
- Kate (6/5): - For the price, this was hard to beat. Great location and not far from station, but we ended up getting there early in the morning (as we only had a day there) and on top of being difficult to find, the “staff” told us to just place our luggage in a random, unlocked and unstaffed room while we waited for the room to be ready at 2pm. No elevator and had to go up like six flights of stairs but room was spacious and good view and clean. Would have gotten more stars yet “staff” not accommodating and poor instructions.
- Tamzin Rebecca Irene (8/5): - Close to centre.
Spacious and comfortable room.
Coffee pods provided x1 but we were staying for two x nights so would have benefitted from more.
- Franz (6/5): - We bookt 3 nights and they led us Coffee only for one night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Confortable room near parking and city center - Small but confortable and clean room, near the center of Bruges (5-10 min by foot to the main points of interest). Big parking (14 euros for 24 hours) next to the hotel. Excellent and big breakfast available.
- Kevin (10/5): - The stairs can be a challenge and entry vis the rear door is a little sketchy, bug very clean, great location would stay again for dure
- Kenneth (4/5): Stay away of you can find it - This place was almost impossible to find! It is not R the listed address, but on an alley around the corner. We walked up and down the street, asked several locals, and we mystified. Finally, a kind waiter guided is to the alley. Then the doorbell wasn't heard. we pounded on the door. At least the cleaning woman answered but she had no authority. The owner is a nasty woman who refused to acknowledge the useless information given as to the roominghouse. It's located in a noisy entertainment area with lots revelers all night long. Not restful at all.
- Jan (8/5): - Prima verblijf in centrum
- Colin (10/5): Big and Warm room with a view - Nice place to stay. Rooms are nice and big. Staff were super helpful with all the information about the surrounding area.
Room looked out over the square.
Would happily stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely comfortable room, great location. Our room overlooked the square and was worried it would be noisy but not at all. Wooden floors everywhere have the potential to be very noisy but our friends were in the room above so very considerate!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very charming, great location. Room was very clean. Rustic, vintage and character.
- Richard (6/5): Overheated in Bruges! - Hotel was in a good location close to old town attractions, shops & restaurants. Parking available nearby in parkade.
Unfortunately the hotel has no AC and weather was hot so quite uncomfortable for sleeping. I thought management could offer a food or drink discount in the restaurant downstairs for the inconvience but no offers.
The bathroom light would not turnoff and small fridge was so hot I was afraid it might short circuit. Management not overly
concerned about issues.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, great price, easy check in, and lovely room. The floors are a bit creaky, so if your neighbors return late or leave early, or have energetic kids, you might wake up. Towel space was a little hard to find. Otherwise (and largely) wonderful place to stay in a beautiful city!
- SAI MAN (10/5): Highly recommended stay - Very helpful staff explaining every detail on travel information
Walking distance to city town
Clean and nice room
- Jacqueline (8/5): Small and friendly place. - This accommodation was convenient 10 mins to station, 5 mins tocathedral 10 mins to main square. We had a warm welcome & were sat at a table with a map & shown where the sights of Bruges were. We had to pay at the accommodation but we could pay by credit card & the taxes as expected were added on so we could just leave at the end of our stay. It was explained that breakfast would be brought to our room & asked what time we would like it & if we wanted tea/coffee. This worked well, breakfast was on time & there was ample good food including boiled eggs cooked to perfection & served in a basket. There was a table set for breakfast to eat at. We loved this, it was so relaxing. We were also shown up to our room & although it was quite small it was very modern & comfortable, just nowhere to hang towels only over the shower. It was also explained to us that we had come through the restaurant & this was only open at lunch time & evening but we could come through the back door & our room key would fit it but it was always open the times we came & went. The staff soon got to know us & were always friendly. Our only disappointment was that on hotels.com it said the room we booked had a safe but it didn’t, however they did offer to change us to a room with a safe, the next day. The only other problem we had was finding it, you have to go to the ‘In the Mood’ restaurant & the rooms are above it. If closed face restaurant, ruin left, then right, right again, look for Hollywood sign.
Excellent accueil.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Sehr gute Lage, Innenstadt mit allen Sehenswürdigkeiten fussläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbar.
- Cynthia (10/5): Comfortable, modern room - The room was large, clean, modern and very comfortable! An added bonus is that it was close to the train station.
- Jenny (10/5): Highly recommend. - Loved this accommodation place. Warm welcome on a very windy day. Above an excellent restaurant. Very central to town.
Would highly recommend this place. Small staircase to access upper rooms. Staff very willing to help.
- Helen (6/5): amazing service and very friendly - Amazing service and very friendly.
Good size room and comfortable bed and bedding. Very thin walls though and extremely creaky floor. I think this place would benefit from some very minor and easy to do tweaks but overall would make it better and a more enjoyable stay eg
No soap dish in bathroom, had to put soap on side and spill water everywhere
No mirror in room
Thin towels
No tray in the shower to hold your shampoo/shower gel etc so it has to go on the floor
Free Toiletries were thin and watery
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to station about 10-15 mins walk. On arrival staff very friendly especially Eva who made us feel welcome and gave us great information about the area with things to do and not. Stayed in Marilyn Monroe room which was very spacious and overlooked the front square. The food was excellent in the restaurant and we ordered breakfast on our last morning which is delivered to the room plenty of food and was delicious, filled us up ready for journey home. Would recommend the hotel to friends and family.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything is perfect, staffs are kind, the room is comfortable, the breakfast is so great!!
- Laural (8/5): - The property was conveniently located about a 15 min walk to the train station and about the same to the town centre. It is a small hotel. I believe it has about 5 or 6 guest rooms.. It is a three storey building and the rooms are on the top 2 floors. There is no elevator. It has an excellent restaurant.
- rene (8/5): Gut gelegen - + Freundlicher Empfang, gute Lage, hübsche Zimmer, beliebtes Restaurant
- Ringhörige Zimmer, Keine Aussicht, Küchengerüche im Zi, und 6EUR für eine Karaffe Wasser zu Essen im Restaurant ist zuviel
- Laura (10/5): - It was as a very cozy & trendy hotel. The room was nicely decorated & the staff, esp Eva was awesome!! She was very friendly and extremely helpful the moment we arrived! The restaurant In the Mood below had great food & ambience. A very nice stay
- Ashley (10/5): - The staff was so kind and welcoming. This was our fifth time to Bruges, and Eva still gave us new insights and suggestions. The location was perfect, and the room was adorable and so comfy. We will absolutely stay here the next time we are here.
- Monique (10/5): Fijn verblijf - Super. Vriendelijke mensen.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great view overlooking the smaller square. Short distance to the central square. Very nice rooms and bathrooms.
- David (10/5): Nice Guest house - Really Enjoyed staying here ,the host was pleasant and gave good tourist advice .Room was comfortable ,although it got hot ,the fan provided did help .Downside was the safe was locked I didn't ask to get it opened ,and the fridge was overheating so anything put in it was warm .Good location on edge of the town centre a 10 min walk to the station .Overall I would recommend it and would use again .
- Robyn (10/5): Great room, bar & restaurant - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hollywood, quirky location big spacious room lovely bathroom and being able to open a window is great - Dimitrios is a great host and the bar & restaurant The Mood is fantastic - we ate there every night & thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate - we were on the 4 floor they are only small floors & they can be challenging but worth it - great position easy to walk to everything would definitely recommend
- Tish (10/5): - We loved it here! Ava checked us in and gave us a map and lots of wonderful recommendations (and a few places to avoid). We had a great stay and would highly recommend it to everyone!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful hotel. - Beautiful room, very clean and well presented. You will only have an issue if you can’t climb stairs (no elevator) but the lovely staff carried our bags and we had no problem.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Would stay again and would absolutely recommend.
- Pavel (8/5): nice hotel at the centre of Bruges - everything was good until the check out time when a woman burst into out room (supposedly a cleaning lady) 30 min before the check out time and wanted to start tidying up already - it took a few minutes to convince her to leave the room, so we can prepare for the check out
- andy (10/5): Good hotel close to the centre - Excellent service and breakfast was very good 10/10
- Neil (10/5): - Great stay, fantastic room and lovely breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): Overall Ok! - Nice staff and breakfast.
Didn't find it easy to find as part of the resturant.
- jason (10/5): amazing breakfast - comfortable room and excellent breakfast- by far the best we've had in a belgian hotel
- Scott (10/5): Great hotel - Wonderful little hotel. Everything was fantastic. Good sized room with comfortable bed. Nice shower and bathroom. Staff was incredibly friendly. Good location--especially if you're walking from train station without a car. The restaurant had great food and the breakfast was good as well.
- Garry (10/5): Little gem - Great hotel above a lovely restaurant! Room was quite large and very clean. Not really any bad points apart from lack of mirrors in the room
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great little hotel with friendly staff - My mum and I stayed here when we had a couple of days in Bruges for a city break. The hotel is situated in a great location within a short walk of the main train station and all the city centre sights.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful and the room was amazing. We stayed in the Marilyn Monroe room looking over Z'and and the square which was beautifully decorated and spacious. Both the breakfast and dinner we had in the hotel were delicious, the Flemish stew was superb.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others. The only point that stops us giving it 5 stars across the board is when we stored our luggage with the hotel on the final day before our train, this was not kept in a locked room as promised, but just in the reception area. However, this is a minor point that would not stop us staying here again.
- Daz (10/5): Top notch hotel all the way - My girlfriend and I stayed here when we had a weekend in Bruges for our anniversary. We could not fault this hotel, staff, or facilities.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the Marilyn Munroe room which was lovely and spacious with a view over looking t'Zand square (highly recommend trying to get this room if you can).
Breakfast was included in the restaurant downstairs. This comprised of a selection of freshly baked bread, croissants, etc., yogurt, eggs, coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, fresh orange juice, ham and cheese. The restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere.
The hotel is in a great location, within easy walking distance to the train station and main square.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again (or try one of their sister hotels) should we have the chance. Don't hesitate, book this hotel, you won't be disappointed!
- Shiu Lap (8/5): Bart - If you are looking for quiet a place to stay, this is the one. The customer service was excellent! Breakfast is delicious. The only thing need to improve is the wifi reception, only certain area in room can receive signal. Other than that, it was very pleasant place to stay.
- Louisa (10/5): lovely staff and super clean room - extremely clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed, although I got a bit hot because it was memory foam. Lovely staff and nice fresh bread at breakfast. Very quiet area. The room was small and had no view but we didn't mind because we didn't go on holiday to sit in a hotel room the whole time!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay at the Hollywood. The location was close to the train station and the center, with shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Very comfortable, clean room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good place to stay close to the shops - Very friendly and helpful staff, nice clean and well presented room.
- Barbara (8/5): A great hotel-an interesting surprise - I stayed for 5 days in this hotel which is a great location. Bus from the train station stops across the plaza from the hotel. You are by the new opera house and short walk to all the key areas of this World Heritage Site city. The rooms are above the restaurant. Mine was up 2 short flights of stairs and overlooked the plaza with the large fountain. The building is older but my bath was large and newly re-modeled. There was one surprise. The listing said that the hotel did not take arrivals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I didn't realize the significance of that statement. It meant that the hotel was effectively closed and not staffed. You are provided a security key to come and go if you stay over Tuesday or Wednesday. The restaurant is closed but staff comes in to prepare your breakfast. When they leave there is no staff available during the day or the night. It was a bit intimating but there were 2 other guests and I felt safe on my own. My understanding is if the hotel is rated 1 star, they are not required to have 24/7 staff on duty. It is a great place to stay, just be cognizant of the restraints.
- Sonja (10/5): Pleasant hotel close to sights. - We stayed in Bruges for a short relaxing break & had 3 nights in comfort with an excellent breakfast each morning & easy access to the sights.
