Guest Reviews
- Amanda (10/5): - Very friendly staff and nice rooms. Got more than I expected over all really pleased with our start
- hunter (10/5): - I will stay here agin
- Candy (10/5): - It was clean & quiet. Pool was crystal clear, clean & fun. My new favorite place to stay
- Luis (8/5): - The affordability of my stay was a great factor. Close to a lot of restaurants and things to do.
- Briana (4/5): - Nobody was in the office like they told me they would be. Called multiple times before anyone answered my call and the lady was rude. Also the kitchen area had a puddle of water in it from a leak somewhere. My daughter slipped and fell because of it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bottom line first: not only will I never stay there again, I am deleting the Orbitz app for recommending this property.
It is basically a transient residence, feels very unsafe, my room was unlocked and cracked open when I arrived, and it was dirty inside. Orbitz rated this property a 7.4
- Richard (6/5): - Not SO bad for the price, but the clientele is a little sketchy. Beware of the $100 "deposit" up front, as if you are a teenager on spring break or something...not sure when or if I will see that again. Also, bathroom was pretty shabby-fiberglass one-piece tub floor was cracked, but had been painted, so it was slick as glass.... Bed and pillows were good though and AC was COLD....
- Jennifer (2/5): - “What kind of bugs are in your room!”
“We don’t have bugs… those aren't cockroaches, those are palmetto bugs..”
“You don’t have a shower curtain, that’s odd…”
We were, kindly greeted with a cricket in the pillow case, cockroaches (churched up as palmetto bugs), & beetles.
These were real questions, RUDELY asked by staff when presenting our issues. Not to mention, the fact our room stunk terribly, no blinds just curtains directly above the AC unit providing no privacy. The Clerk at the office was on the phone with the “general manager” (his mother) explaining our issues and sent housekeeping to freshen up the room. The Remedy, spray it with bug repellent and swap their linens.
“Management” came to the room face timing the “general manager” to investigate our claims as though we were lying. Ignoring the fact that our issues were bugs & the smell. To which we were told “we cannot control what gets in and out of a room!” This place is more of a temp to long term living for those that cannot get their own place. It felt very uncomfortable about the caliber of “residents”. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I kindly stated we wanted to leave and considering our circumstances, asked for a refund. I only asked for 1 night since we did check-in but we were not going to stay at all. NO REFUND! Absolutely no room for negotiation!
We packed up and left!
Only after reaching out to Orbitz were they nice enough to arrange a full refund.
- Marcia (2/5): Extra fees - Went online and booked the room and when i went to check in they said there was an extra charge of $100. They said i would get it back and i never did. If i would have non i would have stayed in a better hotel.
- Stephanie (2/5): - Traveling family of 4 in town for softball tournament. Workers were all outside under a tree smoking. Had to wait for them to finish their smoke break to get checked in. Walls inside unit were dingy, old furniture that had drawers coming off hinges. Bath tub and paint chips all over wall. Window wasnt securely locked. Chain lock on door was rusted out. Pool had so much chlorine in it i had to medically treat my family with red eye. Upon check out the clerk who inspected the room was on video call with gm whom denied our deposit because of "damaged property." The "damage" claimed was from ketchup on bedsheets and eye block on wash cloths. We explained to the clerk and the gm what the marks were from but they continued claiming "damaged property." There is no kitchenette nor bar area to eat on so we allowed the kids to eat on the bed. Nowhere in their agreement does it state that any markings on sheet or towels are considered against contract. Only thing stated was "no smoking." As a travelball family having traveled for many years and visited numerous hotels, we have NEVER had our deposit denied. We respect other people's property and we raise our kids to do so also. For the general manager to be on video call and make the assessment and decision to deny our deposit was unprofessional. Id advise anyone to wash your sheets and towels before checkout or theyll deny your deposit. Youd think their commercial washers and dryers would wash markings away. Thats if they change linens.
- Delaina (10/5): - Seth was very friendly.
- jo (2/5): - room was nasty. The carpet was covered in water, and smelled horrible and was soaking up on the comforter from the floor. Terrible. Didn’t stay!
- Dorothea (10/5): - Very friendly, room clean and beds comfortable.
- Marli (4/5): - Our room reeked of weed, the room was not clean, same as for bathroom.
- Melissa (6/5): - there was empty body wash bottles in room. The room was clean but was not completely comfortable. out side in the court yard was not well it’s up. upon arrival had to call to get someone to come check us in and has to go back the next morning to pay because clerk was apparently in bed asleep. The office closed at 800 pm so i arrived at 1030 just very uncomfortable feeling
- Memarie (10/5): - Everything was very clean staff was awesome.
- Anna (8/5): - Good value and close to 59.
- Greg (8/5): - Quite clean and reasonable prices
- Jessica (10/5): - We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. My daughter and I felt safe. This lodge was close to the water park we wanted to visit and the beach was a drive-able distance. If you want to spend more money on your adventures instead of your room accommodations, this place is it.
- John (10/5): - Close to everything. Staff was very friendly
- Regina (10/5): - Loved it & will be back!
- Sandra (8/5): - Friendly, laundry facilities close parking is great
- Melyssa (2/5): - The property looks nothing like the pictures. Had sketchy people walking around everywhere. room smelled like straight smoke even tho it’s a non smoking property. We couldn’t stay more than a minute - we checked in and immediately said no. The guy in the front office already knew what we were going to say and offered the refund instantly- still awaiting refund.
- Ashleigh (6/5): - The toilet didn't flush, the washers didn't work and the staff acted like they didn't allow my pet after I'd be there a week on the last day, to keep my deposit
- DIANNA (8/5): - It had no dishes for the kitchenette and tye refrigerator was noisy
- MarQuoia (8/5): - It was vey convenient
- Vesta (6/5): - Something that wasn't disclosed was that we had to pay a deposit when we arrived. Bathroom was not very clean. Only one night stand by the bed. The coffee pot was wore out. I guess that you get what you pay for 😞. I will say that the bed was comfortable.
- Julie (6/5): - It was ok.
- DeAnna (2/5): - When I arrived, the office was closed. I called the number on the door several times. Finally someone answered and assured me someone would be in the office in “5 minutes”. We waited 45 before my kids and I had to drive around and find another hotel at nearly midnight.
- Kimberly (10/5): GREAT hot shower - I stayed just overnight but from the lady at the front desk to my room I was more than satisfied. The water for my shower was hot and the bed was super comfy. I’d stay again
- William (8/5): Satisfied to get what I expected. - I just needed a cheap place to flop for the night. The place seems to cater more to long term rentals but there was no issues from anyone other than a number of smokers wandering about leaving a residual smell in the air. The place was clean and fairly quiet. The front desk was helpful and efficient. I would stay here again.
- Danny (6/5): - very clean no table or chairs in room
- Travis (10/5): - Second year in a row I have stayed there!!!!! Perfect
- Louis (10/5): - The rooms were very clean and I appreciated the small kitchen facilities. Wished that they offered coffee in the office in the morning, but there are plenty of places located nearby to get a cuppa coffee. Great value for the money.
- Tim (8/5): - It was a safe place to stay. Friendly staff and Room was very clean
- Robert (8/5): - Parking kind of tight for full size vehicles.
- Rodney (10/5): - Crystal was great. Maintenance man was great.
- Jon (2/5): - No
- Gary (4/5): Wow - To many people up all hours of the night.
- Barbara (4/5): - Office is only open from 10am -6pm. Had to call for someone to open the office. Room key would not work and the person who checked me in could not make a new one as everything is locked up. He used a master key to get me in my room. Couldn't leave as i has no way to get back in.
- Joel (10/5): - Nice and convenient and a fair price
- Suzanne (10/5): I love this hotel! - Excellent stay all the way around. Nice little kitchenette. Clean everywhere. Very comfortable beds. I felt safe, which is becoming increasingly important to me while traveling.
- Tina (8/5): - Outdoor Halloween decorations were awesome. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Room on the small side and it only had one chair to sit. They need at least two so you are not just sitting on the bed.
- Tim (8/5): - The staff was friendly and the room was in good condition
- Julianna (10/5): - The staff was very friendly, the decorations were adorable, and the room was super clean.
- George (6/5): - The furniture was old and the ordor was like in a Motel. The television had no cable and the carpet was dirty. It just wasn't what I expected.
- Nathan (8/5): - Decent place to stay for the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was safe and quiet, close to shopping & restaruants
- Olivia (6/5): - Honestly, for the location and convenience it’s not bad. You definitely get what you pay for. If you’re planning on staying within a budget, I would recommend bringing a skillet and a couple of pots and pans where you can use the kitchenette. I would also bring your own sheets. The sheets in the hotel room had a mildew smell along with a few other stains.
I brought my Amazon fire stick, and although it was glitchy at first, it worked well with the TV. I could tell that they try to counteract the mildew smell with an air freshener plug-in, but it did not help. The pool wasn’t bad, it’s a very short pool and about 5 feet deep. It was recommended to me to try and check in before 6 PM. After 6PM is very hard to have staff come and help. The area is a little shady, but you are close to a Walmart and several other restaurants and you’re about 20 minutes away from the Hangout. There is also $100 deposit. Otherwise livable
- Samuel (10/5): - Perfect centralized location, its not a 5 star but its not a bad 3 star place to stay as well.
Think extended stay location but nicer.
Would definitely stay again
- Terrance (6/5): - The rooms has a stove so you can cook like your at home
- Matthew (6/5): Late check-in….. waiting - It took us 25 minutes of calling the after hour number to finally get someone to come check us in. It was 11 o’clock P.m. the night manager lives on site, but was a young guy and he looks like he might’ve been gaming.
We finally got in the room was nice enough, but there was no shower curtain, and water all over the place and made the tile very slippery
- Carl (10/5): - Staff was awesome
- Shannon (8/5): - It was quiet and the staff was very friendly
- Omar (8/5): - It was a nice stay. I would definitely go back if I’m in the area!
- RANAUDA (8/5): - Haley was GREAT !!!!! Very Professional 😍
- Maigan (10/5): - Cute little hiding spot in foley. Will stay here again.
- Aleah (10/5): - Front desk was very nice
- Michael (4/5): Ehhh…. - My wife and I did not stay in the room for more than two minutes. The beds had bugs of some sort that looked like dead and alive lice. Was told by management that it was a newly remodeled room. We got a refund so we were thankful.
- Christine (10/5): - I have stayed therr multiple times and I am always comfortable
- Joseph (8/5): - Good area
- Moesha (10/5): I enjoyed my stay - I enjoyed my stay, everyone was nice. & security made us feel safe. I will most definitely be back when I’m in town again. Thank you.
- Jason (10/5): Hidden gem. - A great place to stay. I have nothing bad to say about Cornerstone.
- Tracy (10/5): Weekend getaway - Very clean and loved the Halloween decorations outside
- Marla (10/5): - Staff was very helpful.
- MELIA (10/5): - The property is very clean and the room was very very clean. The staff was really nice. There is plenty to do close to the hotel. The price was great also. I would recommend this place for anyone to stay at.
- Alexander (8/5): - Close to everything
- Anthony (10/5): Good Friends ! - Our go-to place for 8-11 years !
- Holly (10/5): - They accommodated us because we were rolling into town late. Very friendly and clean.
- Keyanna (10/5): - I loved my stay will come again
- Bryan (6/5): - Once arriving I decided not to stay. The room was smaller than anticipated and the building and grounds appear to cater more to extended stay clientele rather than nightly hotel guests. The entry doors to the room are directly from the outside, this is a Motel (lodge in the description) not a hotel.
- Felecia (8/5): - It was decent inside but it was quiet
- Kathryn (8/5): - It was a great place to stay and very reasonable rates for the area. Close to everything.
There wasn't a light or lamp between the 2 beds on the bedside table. You had to get up and turn on overhead light to see. I couldnt have read in bed or done anything detailed. Had to find my way at night by light from TV.
Also, no chair or table, although there was a kitchenette. I had to sit on bed to eat.
They lost my reservation, which i had made through Expedia. Had to show confirmation receive on my phone to get a room at the rate which I booked weeks ago. Took front desk about 30 minutes to recreate my reservation, before I could get my room.
- Terrance (10/5): - It has a stove and refrigerator and close to all stores
- Simon (8/5): - I was late after office hours, but the girl was still very happy to meet me and very helpful.
Room etc were all fine in terms of you get what you pay for.
- Jerry (6/5): - Rooms were small and I didn't have a desk or a chair.
- Stacy (6/5): - What I like most is that it’s in a great location and it’s quiet. What I didn’t like is that it wasn’t that clean and the bathroom was disgusting!
- David (10/5): Very accommodating. - We were extremely pleased with the helpfulness of the staff. The first room we were assigned had some issues so they immediately moved us to another room close by ( so we wouldn’t have far to move our stuff) as soon as we brought the issues to their attention. The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean. We had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again.
- june (10/5): Clean, comfortable, nice staff. Quick check in. - This hotel was exceptionally clean, rooms are large, and the beds comfortable. Pillows and towels were thick and fluffy. Definitely would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.
- Belinda (10/5): - Everything was great
- Luiz Paulo (10/5): - Best cleaning ever
- hanan (2/5): - Traveled all the way from ohio in terrible weather conditions only to get there, no one to let my 8 year old and I in, saying they close at 6? How does a hotel close and not let you in after youve booked. I didnt see that stated anywhere. Ridiculous, and the lady was rude about it too. Disgusting
- Laura (8/5): All in all I would stay here again. - I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay and the Cornerstone Lodge served the purpose. The outside area, parking and pool areas were clean and kept up. Haley at the front desk was pleasant and very helpful. The roon was very clean though a little dark and rundown. I would stay here again for the price.
- Sara (10/5): - Arrived after closing time when called they were right there to check me in in no time real friendly
- Amy (10/5): - Friendly & fast check in . Very comfortable beds & Very Clean room
Loved it.
- Cindy (4/5): - It enough towels 1 towel per person for a six day stay not enough , never cleaned the room . Had to ask for towels . Nice laundry room though.
- William (10/5): - The new was clean and had everything I needed. No complaints here.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Horrible staff and management. Worst place I've ever been in my life.
- Brenda (10/5): - Staff was excellent and very accommodating!!!
- Arlene (8/5): - Unit right next to stairs. People going up and down standing on landing talking and many loud walking from above unit.
- Austin (10/5): - Loved the fact they kept the pool clean! Staff was very nice.
- Nancy (8/5): - Like it close to resturants , mall quite , and price ..
- Kim (6/5): - Room was very clean but had an odd odor. There was no one in the office until 10 am, so check out was a bit confusing. The property asked for payment, said they do not accept payment from Expedia in case they are overbooked.
- Christina (10/5): - The office was closed when we arrived but the security officer got front desk for me and check was smooth! The security officer was extremely friendly and helpful! He needs a raise!
- Nancy (8/5): - Quiet and convenient
- Kendra (10/5): - Great
- Verified traveler (10/5): Weekend Getaway!!! - We stayed the weekend for a relaxing and fun time and thanks to Mel and her staff, we had a great stay!!! We will be staying there again!!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We loved this property. It was affordable and we traveled as a young couple with a baby. We had plenty room for his pack and play crib and were very comfortable. Close enough to the beach and shopping but not at all overcrowded with all the people
- Verified traveler (2/5): - If I had had any idea where this place was located I would never have booked there. They are out of the way. The reviews that are posted on this site and anywhere else that are remotely positive are bogus. This place is overrun with mold and mildew. The a /c was leaking on the floor. Going back and reading all the negative reviews, they are a more accurate description of the place though none of them describe how rude and ugly you get treated by the management. Sadly, I did not take pictures. I surely wish I had.
- Verified traveler (2/5): NOT a good experience. - The rooms have kitchenettes, which is advertised. But when you get there they don't have any cookware, utensils, plates, or cups in the room. So unless you want to buy a kitchen and bring it in, the kitchenette is useless.
There is no ice. I was told the ice machine was out of order, and there was nothing they could do.
The general manager is about the rudest person I've ever met. I honestly couldn't figure it out. Why be in the hospitality business if you are so bitter towards people.
I'd rather pay 50 dollars more and stay at a chain hotel.
