Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a 3.5 star stay - This was the most disappointing hotel we have ever booked through hotels.com. The largest concern was the inability to connect with someone when a problem arises, as there was a young girl at the desk unable to assist us and we were unable to reach the owners via email or phone. They misrepresented themselves as having a city view, but are actually situated next to a container truck lot and a petroleum filling staton. Also, there was a loud groaning noise in the hotel until 8:00 pm. At night. The bathtub was soft in the bottom, there were insects in the light fixtures, the room phone did not work, and the buffet breakfast was mediocre. A very disappointing stay and at a higher price than other hotels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel staff are so nice and helpful. Breakfast was ver good. Hotel felt very safe. Is about 10 min walk from town which we didn’t mind but could be an issue for some. There is construction going on across the street which makes it a bit loud - this was the only negative for us. We would stay there again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We got a room on the third floor. The room was very spacious, the bed seemed to be a California king (could be just a king but it felt huge) and was very comfortable. The pool and hot tub are on the third floor too, so it was nice to be able to walk out of the room to get to the pool/hot tub. What we did not like much was the location. Even though it is within walking distance of the pier, this hotel is located in an industrial zone (nothing pretty to see around). In one side of the hotel there is an ongoing construction (loud) and on the other side there are small houses where locals live. Locals have roosters and goats, and those get very loud starting at 4 am. We understand that those things are out of the control of the hotel, however, it does affect the whole experience. We would recommend this hotel, as the staff and service was amazing—just bring ear plugs :)
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff
Very clean
Poor location - next to industrial area/ghetto
Little/no hot water many times and very low pressure
VERY FIRM bed - my wife loved it/I did not
Typical food for that part of the world
- Darren (2/5): hotel but terrible location - The hotel itself I can’t say a bad word against but when we arrived they put us in a room that overlooked a new hotel building site. With the ceiling to floor windows this proved unacceptable as we had builders looking into our room. Next room they put us in had a view of s container yard and shanty town building. 1st thing I saw was a man having s shower outside and using his outside toilet. The hotel itself is new and offers everything u need. If your happy with keeping your blinds closed all day and putting up with the noise of a building site then thid is place is for you but in afraid not for us. A big thank you for hotels.com for sorting us out without paying the 50% charge for us not choosing to stay there. The hotel receptionist was very helpful too
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We wanted to cancel our stay after 1 night and the manager, Joey, was very cooperative and friendly, assisting us with no cancelation fee
- Lisa (8/5): - A bit far from the center of the town. It was a ten minute walk to anything. Very Friendly staff but only one staff member spoke fluent English. The hotel was surrounded by construction sites and a large container warehouse.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Joy and the rest of the staff made me feel very welcome. I hope to be back again, and if so, I'll be staying at the Hotel Albatross! Hey, Joy - send me that email. I would love to keep in touch.
- Ali (10/5): - We went during a week when tourism was slow and the hotel still was amazing with custom breakfast to make sure it fit our tour schedules. The cook came in at 6:30 am twice during the week just for us. Hotel was clean, safe and they did everything needed to ensure stay is good. Pool was nice as well on top. Rooms comfortable for family and groups even. Not by the port or Charles Darwin Ave but also close, walk was 10 minutes to beat food street and tourist area or taxi $1.50 which is easy to get. Will come back and do this hotel again.
- Jose (10/5): Great ! - Great experience! Beautiful place Santa Cruz Island , nice people ... wonderful
- luis ramon (10/5): - Muy buena calidad humana en la atención. un poco alejado del centro comercial de la isla. muy buenas instalaciones.
- alka (8/5): - service and overall -great;only issue was that it is npot close to "city" -no local restaurants ;away from the center of all tourist activities;cabs easily available
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel Albatros - The hotel was very nice. Everything was in good condition and relatively new. The rooms were large with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. The hotel also had surprisingly fast WiFi compared to what else we had encountered in the Galapagos. The location was a little far from most of the shops and restaurants on the main street but it’s only $1.50 taxi anywhere in town. It also had an excellent breakfast. Overall it was a nice place to relax for 2 days after we finished our cruise.
- Shane (8/5): Relatovely new hotel on the outskirts of town - First the good. It is pretty new.and other than stains on the bathtub, its in very good shape. Good and bad is that out of 35 rooms, we were the only guests. Its a small town so the 9 block walk from the docks were not a problem for us. Maybe more important to others. Surrounding neighborhood is not beautiful. The only bad thing and it is BAD. The noise from roosters and barking doga started at 5am every morning. Loud enough to penetrate the walls. You won't need an alarm, I promise you.
- Tasha (10/5): Great hotel - The hotel was great and just a few blocks from the port. Employees were nice and super helpful. Rooms were clean.
- Claudia Elizabeth (10/5): - Hermoso hotel, ideal para descansar porque tenés todo al alcance de tu mano allí mismo. La pileta es hermosa y todo está preparado para un gran disfrute.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice room. Great service. Street construction nearby seemed to increase traffic and noise.
