- Hope (8/5): - We had a great stay in the Captain’s Quarters at Hall House. The room was clean and the perfect location for a weekend in Dahlonega. We loved being able to walk to restaurants and the shops in the downtown square. The only issue we had was that we arrived at a very busy time and the parking lot behind the hotel was completely full which meant we had to park farther away. We didn’t end up checking in until later when a parking space opened up since we didn’t want to carry our bags too far. Overall, this room was awesome for a night!
- John (8/5): - The location is great as it is directly on the town square. Mike was very helpful in the self check in process. This particular room, The Vineyard, has close proximity to the outdoor 2nd floor restaurant balcony and it was a bit loud, as they put the chairs up at night, around 9:30. With that said, the room is still charming and everything else outweighed this short lived inconvenience. We reserved this room last year, so we knew what to expect. We love visiting Dahlonega and the convenience and ambiance of being able to stay downtown is nice. The restaurant, which is housed in the same historic building, serves a nice breakfast, as well.

- Sherry (8/5): - The Hall House was located on the square of Dahlonega. That day was Art in the Park and live music across the street. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent and we enjoyed eating on the balcony for dinner and brunch. The room is best suited for younger folks because there are two steps getting to the living room. The bed is very high. Our room was on the second floor, but the staff took our suitcases up and down the stairs. The screened porch is excellent. The bathroom has a walk in shower, is roomy and has plenty of excellent linens. Dahlonega is a lovely town with interesting events and beautiful countryside and of course, the wineries.

We loved our stay in this historical hotel, on the city square, making it very convenient to walk for shopping and dining. We enjoy staying at historical locations and this one did not disappoint. After doing more research on the building’s history - I was happy to see that they’ve done their best to keep the historical integrity of the building intact. Thank you for a great weekend and we plan on visiting again soon!
- James (6/5): - We have stayed at many "historic" hotels and we have visited Dahlonega often. I chose this hotel for location. Note there are many other optons clsose by. We have stayed in several B&B's in the area. We had the Vineyard room which is closest to the Bourbon ST Grill which shares the building. The outdoor seating for the Grill extends past the window in the room. We were fortunate-- cold weekend so no late night dining. The room was clean and had appropriate amenties. It was historic. Could seen daylight between the original plank floor. Bed was very uncomfortable. We prefer harder beds, but this seemed like sleeping on the floor with a ridge in the middle. Good news--Easy in, easy out. We do not regret booking because it did for us what we wanted to do-- be in downtown. But we will not book it again.

- Tyler (10/5): Awesome Place to stay!!! - We stayed in the Trumpet Monkey room and it was great! super clean, comfy, cozy and had a very antique feeling with all the modern amenities you’d come to expect. definitely a great place to stay when visiting Delonegah!
- Jennifer (10/5): - The BEST location! We went for a mother-daughter getaway and Hall House was perfect! Day Spa across the street for spa time. Lots of good restaurants within a 1-2 block radius. Cute boutique shops right in the same area! We also did a wine tour and it picked up right in the back of the hotel! Never have to drive anywhere if you don't want to. The Trumpet Monkey Room has an amazing jetted tub too! Only negetive was noise from the road and squeaky floors but the location advantages definitely outway any concerns about the noise!

- Barbara (10/5): Beautiful, unique and authentic hotel! - The big room at the Hall house was fantastic! The pictures did not do it justice! We had such a pleasant surprise when we found the beautiful sunroom attached. Such a wonderful eclectic feel with the decor and style. Loved feeling like we stepped back in time. The room had so much space and was decorated to feel like you were staying in a friend’s home. The location couldn’t be better as well! Easy contactless check in and the Bourbon restaurant on site was delicious. Definitely will be back!

- Eric (10/5): Dahlonega Gem - Hall House Hotel is always our selection when staying in Dahlonega. Directly on the square it is the perfect location to stroll around town. They never disappoint us. The rooms are phenomenal, nicely decorated, spacious, comfortable beds. The owner, Mike, is superb to work with. Check in is super easy. He is readily available if needed.

It was an awesome historical building! Would be great if the description told me that my room would be right in the middle of Bourbon St Grille- my room windows were right up against diners- I could hear them talking! The good parts outweighed the above!

We were only there one night, and it was so convenient to walk around a while, stop back at the hotel for a few minutes, and then head back out. My only concern was in regards to the door — while it locked, it was significantly cracked. I worried I would break it the first time I tried to open it! Other than that, the rest of Captain’s Quarters was spacious, comfortable, and accommodating.
- Cristen (8/5): - Michael, the manager was fantastic. Organized and responsive. The property couldn't be more central to everything in Dahlonega. If you are looking for glam, this may not be your spot. Hall House is quirky and vintage, which was what we signed up for! We stayed in the Captain's Quarter and it is big. It has a little sitting room, as well as bedroom and ensuite bathroom. If interested, there is a claw foot tub in the bedroom. Heat works well, even with it set at low, we opened windows and cranked the ac to sleep comfortably ( in Feb.). That being said, we'd definitely stay again bc of uniqueness and convenience to downtown.

- Frank (10/5): Holiday stay at Hall House - Checked off a bucket list item for my wife. Surprised her with reservations at Hall House. And I think maybe snow falling coulda been the only thing to make the visit more festive and celebratory of the season. Downtown was beautiful and our room overlooking all the lights was perfect.
- David (8/5): - The hotel is conveniently located right in the town square so all of the activities are within a close walk. It is in a historic building, so both the facilities and amenities reflect that and would not be comparable to a newer, luxury hotel. Check-in with convenient but contactless and we never saw anyone associated with the hotel during our entire two day stay. My only complaint - and it's a big one - is that the bed and mattress was terribly uncomfortable. I realize that bed comfort is very much in the eye of the beholder, but unless you like a very firm - and lumpy - mattress, you will not be happy with the mattress in Sarah's room. It was the most uncomfortable hotel mattress I have slept on in a long time. So much so that we drove home the second night rather than sleep another night on that mattress. Install a new mattress and my 4 star review turns into a 5 star review.
- Adam (8/5): Convenient location, neat room, but bad sleep. - We had the Vineyard room and enjoyed how the room felt vintage. Just be aware that this means the floor is very creaky and definitely not level, but it is a cozy room. Overall the stay was good since the location was very convenient, however the noise level was pretty bad. The noise level from the restaurant the hotel shares a building with was cleaning up well past 11 pm and the noise level in this room was particularly bad. Then, at 2 am someone else came into the restaurant and made even more noise. Finally, the restaurant will start preparing around 7-8 before opening. Just something you should be aware of ahead of time since it's just about impossible to get a full night's sleep.

The pictures need update on their site the room that showed had a balcony that we thought we were going to be able to use but not so the room needs a little work tolit loose did not look like the same room in the picture and was way over priced I was disappointed about that.

There is plenty of seating and comfy porch blankets to snuggle with too. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place with us.

- Rolande (10/5): A great hidden gem - We stayed in the Big Room and it was well worth the up cost for us as we were staying multiple days and could spread out. The room is fantastic and the bathroom large with real towels not small pieces of cloth to try to dry with. Extra make up mirror with stool even made it feel more like home. The outside seating area is on the back of the hotel, not the square but it was a great space to visit and not be cramped in a room. They texted us when our room was ready on check in day. The only slight drawback is the attached restaurant. If you are early to bed it might be a little loud depending who the customers are. They do close at 10 I believe. I used ear plugs and was great. Wonderful location to be able to walk everyplace and even just sit on the square people watching.

I was very uncomfortable with people outside our bathroom and bedroom windows. There were curtains and blinds but it still didn't excuse the fact that others were right outside our windows.

The room was nicely decorated to represent the history of the building but with modern conveniences. Our only complaint is regarding the bed. We stayed in the Captains Quarters. The bed was painfully firm and the pillows could use some updating. Otherwise we were pleased with our stay.

The room was very clean, and a good size. Our room was the "Big Room" which had more space and a screened in back balcony. I would recommend this room for the extra space and larger size. The staff was very accommodating and all though there isn't a "front desk" they were very accessible. Security and parking was excellent. I would highly recommend booking a weekend! Shane

There was old-building charm, but also windows stuffed with paper towels to keep out the draft--not indicative of a well-maintained space. Overall looked worn out, although everything was clean and in working order. One suggestion I would make is that since a main feature of the room was a soaking tub, supply bubble bath since most people typically don't pack any! Probably will choose a different hotel when returning to Dahlonega unless the price is drastically slashed.

The ease of access to all the shops being located right on the square was so convenient. My only complaint is that the bed was very firm and uncomfortable, but I would come back.

- Marcus (10/5): Great stay - Our stay was great, no complaints here at all. yes, it's a hands-free check in which was great! I saw that most of the reviews were that they couldn't get in their room and could not get ahold of anyone. I never got my door code, so I called the number on the web site Mike called me back within 10 minutes and gave us a code and thats all we needed. he was exceptionally friendly on the phone and told us not to hesitate to call if we needed anything. our room was so comfortable I had my mother who booked elsewhere stay at our place while we went to Helen for the day, and she absolutely loved it. if we ever come back, I would not want to stay anywhere else.
- Nora (8/5): - The property is charming, spacious and we love the porch. Great location being right in the heart of downtown. Because it is right in the heart of downtown, it does get noisy until late at night where you can hear people being loud and disorderly. You can also hear the staff in the restaurant below cleaning up, moving furniture around and talking. Seems to end by 10:30pm. The fan in the unit is very loud, the bathroom could use a paint touch up, the pillow shams are worn out, there is no microwave and the fridge is very small. At the normal rate, I wouldn't mind some of the missing items, but we paid a premium due to the 6 Gap Event. Also the TVs are close in proximity, so when you turn one off, another would turn on. But the host was great with instructions and communication.

- Tammy (10/5): Our Favorite Dahalonega Stay - My husband and I go to Dahlonega frequently. Hall House Hotel is our favorite place to stay. It is located in a historic building directly on the Square. You can park your vehicle and walk to all to local shops and restaurants. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Owner, Mike, is always a pleasure to work with.

- Liz (6/5): - This is an old, historical building that also houses a restaurant. And you smell it every time you step into the hallway! It is contactless - in that there’s no front desk, no lobby. You basically find you way to your room. We were lucky to run into a staffer that showed us how to work the keypad entry and got us ice. Mgr was available by text. No central a/c. One window a/c which was working hard and had a mini fridge and bottled water. Large multi level room with a nice patio for entertaining. No breakfast or other amenities and there is no elevator, fyi. It is located right on the central square which is convenient to shops, dining.

- David (10/5): Historic hotel - Although the hotel was old and historic, the room was lovely and had lots of atmosphere. Since we are an older couple, we really didn’t enjoy the stairs. Mike was very helpful and helped my husband have a gorgeous bouquet waiting for me in the room.
- Edgar (8/5): Pleasant and unique. - It was very pleasant. The location was right on the main square, which is lovely. The building is old, and cant be covered up by new paint. The hallway floors are dirty, and the stairs require some caution. The building is shared by a popular restaurant, which makes dining convenient, but may intrude on the ambiance with noise and odors. The room was good. Bed comfortable, with all necessary amenities. But it was a little less polished than in the pictures. AND the fancy bathtub pictured is IN the bedroom. There is a separate shower also. All in all it was great in a unique kind of way, but not quite the romantic spot I thought it might be. I would stay again, maybe try a different suite next time.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a unique and fun stay. The access up the back stairs seemed iffy, but once in the hotel it was fine. Up the front stairs was nicer. It is an old hotel, and feels like it. This room is large with seating and an awesome screened porch. We had a big storm blow through, very fun to sit out there and watch the lightning. The bed was not very comfortable, but slept ok. I would love a change out of the mattress. It's a lovely place!

Someone in the restaurant opened our room with a master code, but we could never lock our room for our entire stay. The manager never returned our call but we seemed to manag. I'm just glad we did not have any valuables left in the room.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hall House is full of abundant cuteness and charm. Our room, “Sara’s room”, had quite an uncomfortable bed though. So much so that we would definitely consider somewhere else because of it.

It did not disappoint- with the entry at the back it was easy to grab our luggage and get settled. This is a mature property with all its wonderful creaks! Music welcomed us and the accommodations were well stocked and room tidy. Street noise was limited during our stay until the morning as the square began its day in this beautiful little town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Hall house is like stepping back in time. Where inn keepers and boarding houses exist. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sara room. I felt a cozy, intimate feeling staying at this personal inn. Mike the owner walked me through each step at check in. The Sara room was spacious and beautifully decorated. This town is charming and quaint. Just what the doctor order to escape the city rush lifestyle. Please book at Hall House and stay right on the square. There are nice small cafe, gift shops and enough to slow down in Dahlonega.

- Aaron (8/5): - Great room, great location, fair price, quality features, good wifi, large space, covered back porch and three televisions. You will need to use the keypad to lock the door when leaving since it does not lock automatically. I only figured this out after returning from dinner and leaving the door unlocked for several hours with all my valuables inside and there’s zero communication about this. No closet or hangers so plan on spreading items throughout the room. Would recommend replacing some of the decorative furniture with an armoire and hangers which is a standard feature in most hotels rooms.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and communication with the owner Mike. Walking distance to restaurants and shops which was perfect and the room was very spacious.
- Charlie (10/5): - The room did not feel like we were staying in a hotel. We had five windows. There was a reading room with excellent light, Comfortable King Size bed and the room had a large screen TV with an awesome picture. The only thing I missed was it did not have a coffee pot in the room. There was one in the hallway but I don't like sharing with people I don't know. Overall the room was amazing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hall House Hotel is a fantastic hotel located right on the square in Dahlonega, and it is as equally charming as the city it is located in. The spacious bathroom, electric fireplaces, screened patio, and overall décor really make the Big Room a wonderful stay. We will certainly be returning in the spring, and for a longer stay this time. Mike, the owner, really makes sure that their guests are well taken care of and comfortable.
