- Sandra (10/5): - A beautiful home, easily accessible to town shops & restaurants. Friendly staff & delicious breakfasts. Property very quaint and very clean. Really enjoyed our stay!!
- Amy (6/5): - Lighting needed for evening parking behind property! Info. Should be left with sign at desk for arrival. Ex., a phone number because the bell at desk brought no one. I called number with site and thank goodness was given code right away. The old carpet should be removed ! We should have been asked at check in would we want breakfast so they could be prepared for the # of guests. We had to ask for spoons for yogurt, salt for eggs. Little things yet they weren’t considered.
- Carlos (5/5): Passable - Location to downtown Napa was excelent. There was a television or radio on all night in another room. The room was old and musty. The chairs were very uncomfortable.
- John (8/5): - Property is located in a very quiet area of downtown Napa but only four blocks from stores, bars, and restaurants. The grounds are very pleasant, breakfast and kitchen staff were very accommodating, and the virtual check in procedure was easy. Now the downsides. We were in the "Bridal Sweet" in the carriage house. Carpet was stained, the room had a very musty odor to it, wall paper was peeling, and the tv is not a smart tv and lacks any sort of connections to any thing. Bed was fine but nothing spectacular. Bathroom fixtures were tired, needed a major polish, and the bathroom fan was comically underpowered for a jacuzzi tub steaming.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - The best part of our stay was the breakfast. The staff did a wonderful job and were very friendly. They were the only staff we encountered. For the price we expected a more personalized stay with daily maid service. There was no other contact except through email.
- Bonnie (6/5): - The staff on-site was wonderful. However, there was no contact with anyone who wasn't preparing breakfast. We had to keep our bags with us for an hour when we arrived and when we came back, my room was still being cleaned. Our room was accessible, but the heat and air conditioning controls were not in the room and were fairly complicated. Other than that the breakfasts were delicious and quick and the staff was lovely.

- Williams (9/5): Comfy, great location, nice staff, good breakfast. - Friendly staff, great comfy bed, good food, good location. Since we didn't come to breakfast until 9 eggs were reheated instead of fresh but all food was still good. Some issues getting check in/out info via emails.
- Robin (10/5): - My two sisters and I stayed in the upstairs hideaway at Hennessey House last weekend when we had a girls’ trip to Napa. This is very much a no-frills property. It was perfect for our needs, because when we go to Napa, we are not really interested in spending time or money at a hotel – – we want to save that for the wineries and restaurants! Check-in was very easy; the property is a lovely Victorian house on a quiet street, but only about a 10 minute walk into downtown Napa. Breakfast was served in the communal dining room and was uncomplicated but satisfying. There was also plenty of parking. Really, just a perfect, easy little spot. I would absolutely stay there again!

The only mishap was me checking in and the door was initially unlocked to the entire house so I was a little frightened but quickly other guests arrived and it felt very homey I loved it

House is pretty from outside but really needs attention by it's owner if it expects to keep prices so high.Someone representing owners should be on site. The house is full of very cheap polyester " oriental" rugs. Rip out the stank carpet & refinish wood floors. There doesn't appear to be any art. Our room didn't have any ,not a piece!Breakfast was merely ok. The old girl needs some polishing up and you could charge even more. But not with curtains bought from Walmart

- DAVID (10/5): - This is a very well-maintained classic Victorian Bed & Breakfast. Our room was very comfortable. The mattress and pillows were perfect. The Hennessy House is approximately four city blocks from multiple restaurants and shops. It is located in a very quiet area. We felt like it was safe, comfortable and extremely convenient. The breakfast of poached eggs on toast with avocado and bacon was delightful.

- Phatthani (4/5): Expensive charge for the low quality. - It is ~ 0.6 mile to down town Napa 1. We can not find and access our room. It takes about 1 hour to be able to get into the room. (Never get an email about the access code to the room or map to the room) 2. The room/house has a smell (old house smell/carpet/ food smell.) 3. I got a breakfast. I ask for one more piece of bread. They do not have any extra 1 more pieces of bread for customers. They make exactly one piece per customer. Also, I got a response to my request in unfriendly manner. 4. The rating is 4 stars and I paid 380$ per night. It should be a 2-star rating and not worth 380 $ /night. (Old house smell, limited food, and unable to access room for an hour after arrival).
- Christine (10/5): Fabulous stay - Hennessy House is a beautiful old Victorian home a few walking blocks from downtown Napa is a very quiet neighborhood. Communication with reservations was excellent. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff very friendly. Room was large and comfortable. My only suggestion would be larger sign plaques on the bedroom doors to make it easier to find your room.

- Christopher (6/5): Great location; crap bed. - Location was great—within walking distance of downtown. Liked the common areas. Breakfast was good. The bed was uncomfortable. It was supposed to be a queen, but was smaller than that. The AC/heating was abysmal. We couldn’t ever get a stable temperature in the room. At night, it alternated heating and cooling repeatedly. And the vent was right next to the bed, so it would blow on one of us the entire night unless covered by a pillow—which we finally did.

- Maria Lucia (2/5): Hopeless Hotel !!! - The condition of the hotel is awful ! It is old, smelly and uncomfortable. Nobody to complain at the site… if you call their number nobody answers and direct you to send an email with yr question or complain. My recognition goes to Claudia and Charlie, that clean the rooms and prepare breakfast, they run the hotel by themselves and try hard to do their best, but quite difficult because the whole thing has no hope. I don’t understand the reviews I read about this hotel, reason for me to book it, I think I might have stayed in a different one… HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If you want a nice Bed & Breakfast in Napa, try The Elm House, loved that one.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Napa getaway - Hennessy House is in the perfect location for walking to downtown Napa. We loved parking in their lot and not having to drive to dinner. Our room was small and cozy and felt like we were visiting family. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests about wine tastings and restaurants. We would stay again.

We had a minor toilet problem that they responded to right away. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We plan to go back
- Tugbek (10/5): - There are downsides to staying in a 150 years old wooden house. It smells of wood and creaks. But I think it's renovated beautifully, not overdone it and eveything works. Rooms are large, common areas are comfortable, breakfast is delicious and patio is amazing.

- Barbara (10/5): Wonderful Old House - This was our third stay at Hennessey House. We love the house and try out different rooms each time we stay. We'll be back in two weeks to stay in the "Bridal Suite." Charlie & Claudia are the best and make a delicious breakfast each morning! A couple improvements that could be made: 1. The outdoor lighting is way too dim to see the steps from the parking lot. There is also a tree stump that can't be seen at night and is a major trip hazard. Best to use the ramp to get to the door rather than the steps at night. 2. Please offer larger sized soaps in the room. Extremely tiny, thin soap. Note: Rooms are not automatically cleaned each day. I think they'll do it if asked.

We arrived in pitch darkness and had to make our way from the parking lot into the house by the light of our phones. It was actually creepy. No one was there to direct us to our room etc. Not a welcoming place.
- Jason (10/5): Sage Creek Room - Our room wars clean, very comfortable, and quiet, we stayed in the carriage house, in the Sage creek room. There was another older couple in the room next door, but we barely knew they were there. We probably were the loud ones. The kitchen staff was very nice, please tip them, and breakfast was good. Overall, we had a good stay.

- Barbara (8/5): Needs Attention - We stayed here in 2018 and the property had been recently upgraded (impeccably) at that time, with upgraded fixtures, linens, etc., and offered high end bath products. Staying here this time was a shock at first. We noticed there is definitely a lower standard in the maintenance and upkeep of the inn. The carpets are worn and dirty looking, repairs in the room done without attention to detail (mismatched drape holders of a cheap material glued to the wall with a dark glue/ caulk, shower re-caulked in places with the same dark/ mismatched substance), bathroom pedestal sink not grounded to floor properly and has surface cracks, no remote to turn on the gas fireplace so we weren't able to enjoy that, and the bath soap was a tiny, paper-thin bar like I've never seen; mismatched shampoo/ conditioner. Most importantly, the outdoor lighting is so low that it's dangerous at night! The breakfast was good and the kitchen staff were so, so nice. We love the house and will likely stay here again but the management really need to improve on the details. Apparently the inn was sold a couple years ago. We'd love to see the pride of ownership the previous owners showed. Three nights, no room cleaning, no phone number to call staff and no response to email request regarding fireplace - disappointing.

- Richard (9/5): Lovely, comfortable room in a good location, walking distance to the center of Napa. - Lovely home in a quiet neighborhood. No tv in the room, though there is one in the common area. Fortunately, we were the only guests who used that area in the evening, so we were able to watch what we wanted.
- Icel (2/5): - I checked into this property and was greeted by an older woman who appeared friendly. On further acquaintance she presented herself as lonely and invited herself out to dinner with me. I felt bad and humoured this. Long story short, it turned out to be a chapter out of a horror story. She ended up getting intoxicated and physically attacking me after dinner. The police were called and she was taken away. I ended up having to find another place to stay in the middle of the night; not to mention I was completely traumatized. To add insult to injury, when the owners called me to inquire about my “stay”, I was advised that this employee had had previous complaints. When I called Expedia to inquire about a refund, I was told to go through the merchant directly as the merchant was not responding to Expedia’s attempts at communication. I did just that, and was promised a refund in the form of a check. This refund was never received. I held off writing this review in hopes that I would at least get my money back, but this was not the case. If you care about your sanity this is probably not the best option out there.

- Kelly (6/5): - Property is lovely and staff is great. Clean and close to downtown Napa, so we walked everywhere for meals and some tastings. We were able to park in the lot, even though we arrived before check in. Vicki was a great hostess. Room was quaint and comfy, big and great bed. Our BIG issue was the shower: no hot water! Thought it might be because we showered later and therefore, hot water ran out, but the next day, still no hot water. Also, would have loved some complimentary bottles of water for the room.

Our room was downstairs next to the kitchen and dining room. There’s no way you can get a quiet, relaxing rest when other guests are chatting and congregating in the dining area. But other than that, all is good! Will definitely book again!

Bed and room where spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good before we left for wine tours. Some more variety of fruit would have made it nicer.

A couple of things, pillows, to me and my husband were hard, the air conditioner is really loud. And unfortunately im super sensitive to light and thwnsmall wine fridge light kept me up....other than that was a lovely b and b.

- Ronald (8/5): - The room pictured was smaller thank image. But still nice and clean. No television in room. Plumbing was original Victorian home. Still worked great. No issues with hot/cold water. Bathroom was small. Overall good experience, first time in Napa.

- Sandra (10/5): - We loved the staff especially the breakfast crew! The coffee was the best and they really served gourmet food at breakfast. Hennessey House is affordable in a pricey town and walking distance from all the excitement of Downtown Napa.

- Kenneth (10/5): - Beautiful home, large rooms, friendly staff, wonderful breakfasts! We even got to meet a lady who grew up in the house as a child. She was very happy with how the house was maintained.
- Frank (8/5): Marginally acceptable - The location was quite good for Napa activities and downtown access. The breakfast was tasty but the egg dishes were always only luke-warm. But, my biggest complaint was the effort required to get the facility access codes. When we finally were able to contact a live person, they insisted they had sent the information. However, neither of my two email addresses (nor the spam folders) had the email instructions. Not what I needed after flying in from Santiago, Chile and spending 3 hours in Friday afternoon San Francisco traffic.

- Michael (10/5): Great Property and Location. - Beautiful old home that has been revitalized. Walking distance to all that the downtown area has to offer. Easy driving to the vineyards and wineries. Especially enjoyed the breakfasts; fresh coffee, carafe of orange juice on every table, and eggs cooked perfectly. The staff were always friendly and engaging. The Hennessey House is well maintained and comfortable.

- Philippa (10/5): - My favourite place to stay on my road trip from BC, Canada. I love the charm, comfort, and convenience and the breakfast on both mornings was delicious. The omelette and crispy bacon kept me going all day. The staff were very kind and interesting to speak with. I enjoyed sitting under the garden arbour writing and the smell of the pink roses and the yellow flower vines only added to the experience. It was easy to find, easy to park and I felt safe coming as a single woman. I enjoyed the stroll into downtown looking at the charming older homes. I was not there to shop but I could not help myself... great little stores. I stumbled upon this B&B last minute on my road trip and so glad I did. I may even return on my way home to Canada. - Liza (10/5): - It is very nice place to stay. Well maintained and they really do care about guests. Breakfast was excellent and bed was very comfortable, everything was clean and in good condition. Tip: do not book it through Expedia. On the website price was $70 lower.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Breakfast and staff were great. Location great! Everything within walking downtown Bed was lower in the middle. Looks like it needs a new mattress!
