Guest Reviews
- Scott (10/5): Highly recommended - Beautiful, simple clean rooms conveniently located in the old town of Nafplio.
- Robert (10/5): - Very quiet area, yet also very close to the heart of the old city (just down the steps). Not fancy, but very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and chatty. Although my room with a balcony was said on the website listing to have "no view" it did in fact have a view of the sea, and a breeze every evening helped to cool things down and dry my laundry. I stayed here once in 2009 and again in 2025. Would definitely recommend.
- Hailie (10/5): - This is a lovely little pension with kind owners/staff. The main Nafplio locations are within a walkable range. My room, though advertised as not having a view, did have a nice little sea view from one side of the balcony.
- Andrea (10/5): - Location was perfect beside the free parking. It was safe and quiet. Room was spacious. It is very cute if you like a old world experience. There is no elevator and the spiral staircase is very narrow if you have big luggage. AC worked great!
- Michael (10/5): - We stayed in the top floor suite. No lift in the hotel but we knew that. We also knew there were going to be lots of stairs from the town center to the hotel. If you take a cab or car they can drop you off at a parking lot with fewer stairs. We really liked the location and the feel of the room. We had a balcony and kitchen in the top suite. The shower was fine but not as nice as the rest of the room. We would definitely stay here again. The stairs in the hotel are not friendly for large luggage. Our carry on airline luggage was fine.
- Margaret (10/5): - Beautiful older property. Owners are very nice.
- george (8/5): - Good value for money. Ugly apartment block built in front of property.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Quaint, clean. There was construction in the neighborhood that started pretty early in the morning, so that was kind of loud. Not a deal-breaker though.
- pam (8/5): - Clean and quiet. Could be updated but it was all we needed.
- Patrick (10/5): - Very nice!
- Darryl (10/5): - Very peaceful place, amazing views great village to visit
- Helen (8/5): - This is a town you need to walk around. Most of the old town is pedestrian streets only with very limited parking. Once you find a spot, you don't move your car. This lovely hotel is high up on the hill so there was many steps down and up a few times a day. Everything else about this hotel was good and the staff were excellent.
- Jean (10/5): - Friendly family accommodation. It lives up to it's description. A restful stay.
- David (10/5): - It was exactly what i wanted. Simple hotel, quiet and clean, close to the restaurants and city center.
- Lisa (10/5): - Very easy check-in. Room was clean and great location. Excellent place to stay.
- Brad (10/5): - Very nice accommodations and affordable.
- Carol (6/5): - This pension was very reasonably priced so that needs to be taken into consideration and makes the stay acceptable for what it is - a decent place to stay in this beautiful city. It was very clean, there was parking around the corner and it was conveniently located. A couple of things: you need to be able to climb fairly steep steps to get to your rooms and there are no elevators. Rooms on the second and third floors had a very narrow spiral staircase that was a struggle to get up with suitcases. The room had a balcony overlooking the harbor which was beautiful. The bathroom was tiny, making the shower with hand held faucet a bit difficult to navigate.
- Nicholas (10/5): - A delightful and authentic pension in a lovely quiet, historic area. Just a 2 minute walk to the shops and restaurants. The lovely lady on reception was very helpful with recommendations and advice.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad Visit - We arrived and the room was up severa.several flights if a small spiral staircase. No elevator so we had to carry large suitcases up the spiral staircase. The receptionist actually said " can't you leave your suitcases in the car?". Then to top it off we found bed bugs in our bed. We ended up leaving at 11pm the day we arrived. Was a very baf experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing hotel - Amazing hotel located in Nafplio. The room was nice and comfortable, the view from the balcony was great and the staff were great. It was easy to find parking nearby.
- Violtsa (8/5): - Everything was nice, very friendly reception and owner
- Uma (6/5): - The location of the property is in a quiet area. There is no distraction from traffic. There was no housekeeping service on three of five night stay at property; sheets were never changed during the stay
- Cecilia (10/5): - A sweet little room close to everything I wanted, but very peaceful. Beautiful sea views in 2 directions. Eleni could not have been more kind. Electric kettle, fridge were in good condition and very useful. Need to be okay with stairs.
- wendy (10/5): - We’ve been to Nafplio many times but had never stayed at Pension Eleni before. It is up the hill, with a car park nearby. The view is spectacular. It has steps but is easily accessible by walking. The photos of the room online are very accurate. Everything was perfect. I can’t say enough good things. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
- Heidi (10/5): - Fantastic view in a charming area.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Cute place with friendly owners and an easy walk to the water and square. Recommended
- Victoria (8/5): - Great location! Staff were friendly
- Laurence (10/5): Recommended - Comfortable stay. Convenient and clean. Liked drinking wine on the balcony.
- Colleen (10/5): Best place in Nafplio - This is one of the greatest places in all of Greece. Eleni is a national treasure, and the rooms are wonderful. Pay for the upper rooms with a balcony, its worth it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy pension with stunning view - This is a small, friendly family run place in traditional style. I stayed in a room with a great sea view. The area is high on the hill so be prepared to climb several steep stairs.
The room was comfortable and had a kettle, and coffee and tea were provided. As well as water and some Greek cookies.
It was a pleasant stay with the incredible Greek hospitality.
- JT (10/5): - Unfortunately we were never able to stay here due to the Coronavirus travel ban. Our prepaid amount was very graciously refunded. We are grateful. Class act
We look forward to staying here when we are able to reschedule our trip.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was nice. the owner Eleni was kind, hospitable, welcoming and gracious and helped us in more ways than one! The hotel is simple, clean and close to all the lovely walkways with the shops and restaurants. Very quiet. I don't think the air conditioning was working in our room - but we were comfortable.
- David (10/5): Comfortable and easy stay - Comfortable stay, and the room had some nice amenities such as refrigerator with ice and butter, electronic kettle with tea/coffee, and toast with jams and spreads. Very warm grandmotherly manager.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cute and cosy. Position was great. Close to everything. The owner was so beautiful and friendly. Clean.
- Peter (8/5): - Close.to town, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and toasted bread/biscuits, butter and jam for breakfast. Not to mention the pleasure of meeting the beautiful Eleni herself 😊
- Priyadarshi (10/5): Excellent place, if you don't mind stairs!!! - The Pension is really good, and Eleni, the old lady who runs it. Is an absolute sweetheart. Just be warned, you have to climb about 4 stories of stairs to get the building, which was a pain with bags. But the room. And the view and the general service was excellent. We loved our stay!!
- kt (10/5): - Eleni is a lovely old lady from some story book. She was a delightful presence even though we barely managed to communicate. Her place must also be from a story book, charming, overlooking blue water, close to everything Nafplio has to offer. The breakfast is really poor very unbecoming to Greece culinary practices, but even that does not ruin the charms of Pension Eleni.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Eleni and her son in law must be the kindest people in Greece. We received a warm welcome. They helped with our car problem. It was a wonderful experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. This was my favorite hotel stop.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, quiet, close to water and shops. Eleni the owner made us feel at home right away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Eleni is the dearest person in Nafplio. Maybe even in Greece!
Her Pension rooms are bright, colorful, and clean with everything you could need, and the building is located very close to but far enough from the city’s busy areas that you can get a quiet night’s rest (which includes sleeping on Eleni’s comfy beds).
We are truly grateful to have gotten to know Eleni and her place a little. And we think others will quite enjoy doing so, too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was awesome. We enjoyed this holiday very much.
- Csaba (10/5): - A perfect location run by the sweetest owner one can imagine. Her warmth is the true Greece at its best.
- Verified traveler (10/5): True Greek hospitality - A totally authentic Greek experience! We were given a very warm welcome by the elderly owner Eleni who showed us to our room which was very clean, had a lovely balcony with a sea view and basic breakfast facilities. The hotel was a great base to explore Nafplio, right in the centre of the old town. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
- Daniela (8/5): A very good value for money. - Pension Eleni is a well run property. The room is small (there are larger rooms with balcony, but we didn’t manage to find one) but you have everything you need. A nice vue to the sea is a bonus. Mrs Eleni is very friendly although she speakes English quite poorly. You don’t have a real breakfast but they offer butter, bread and marmelade and you have the necessary kitchenware available. The WiFi is OK. Overall is a very good value for money. Still, be aware that if you do not come by car (or taxi) you have to climb a good number o stairs, a problem if you have luggages. Also, you have to use the stairs, down and up, everytime you go in the old city, which is really near by (Syntagma sq is 200m away!) with shops and restaurants. If you come by car, as we did, the good news is that there is a public parking very near by. The bad news is that finding a free slot is not easy, especially during the evening (maybe this is the case only during the full season - we have been in August). Daniela & Alexandrunear
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The ladies at the pension reffered to us as "familia" and were the sweetest people. You don't forget the little things like that!
- Patrick (8/5): Good Value, Nice Room - We had good value for our money. The location was excellent with lots of inexpensive restaurants nearby. Our beds were very comfortable, the kitchenette was very functional, and the wifi was decent. The room was very spacious for our group of three and our host was very friendly. There are lots of stairs to get to the hotel and get to our room - not a problem for us, but could be for less mobile travelers. The shower was a bit tight, but functional. Parking is easy once you know the route.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super cute little room at the very top isnt for those with low mobility but the view is great.
- Ulysses (6/5): Small and comfortable - It was a decent room. Its not a hotel. Its a small clean room with a great view and no amenities. The town was great. Lots to see. Great food and people.
- Ralph (8/5): Old World Charm - The owner, Eleni, is delightful. She welcomed us graciously and showed us everything we needed to know. The room was not lavish but very comfortable. Convenient parking and easy walking distance to waterfront and downtown area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Hotel great staff very nice and wonderful accommodations centrally located would come back
- Jim (10/5): Great view - The staff was very friendly from the time we arrived. It was a good location with a beautiful balcony view of the water and Bourtzi. Shopping and restaurants are a short walk away. The room itself was very comfortable and there are several more things to do only a short drive away.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect little pension a the top of the town - Pension Eleni is conveniently located near the only parking in Nauplion that is not down at the harbour. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The AC actually works, which is not true in so many places that installed room units years ago and apparently never maintain them. On the hottest night of the summer so far I was completely comfortable. The continental breakfast provided in the room is just what you need to get you going and down the hill to enjoy a second breakfast on the water. The room was small, but had everything I needed or wanted. Who comes to Nauplion to stay in the room? If you are there to enjoy the town, not a fancy box of a room, Pension Eleni is just perfect.
- Mai (10/5): Cozy hotel up above the hubbub. - Two of us stayed four nights. Great view of the harbour from both our room and our patio. Birds singing, beautiful vegetation.
