- Brett (10/5): The Mgr was very helpful. - Great location. The parking lot was being worked on but that couldn’t be avoided.
- James (4/5): Bad area, people sleeping on the sidewalks the beds were hard, no coffee pot or tea maker.. - N/a N/a
- Hansen (1/5): I felt like all night someone could come into my room. It was a room from helll - Frist when I arrived thier a sign on the door on the door. I am reading it when the manager show up. I guess they don't live thier so thie4 a intercon so wife say I was saying some very bad stuff. Believe me I did not. .I get to the room the hand towel dirty. The door too the room doesn't have that flip over lock. All it it has a small little lock that any one with a key they could get could open the door
- Stefanie (7/5): -
- Robert (10/5): I would definitely recommend - Even though I showed up late the staff was very helpful. The rooms were incredibly neat and clean and no bad odors. The heater worked great, the shower was perfect. An elevator would be nice
- Lewis (5/5): It was ok - Friendly staff Room only had in room a/c units and they were off on day of check in and it took them about 6 hours to make the room tolerable.
- John (10/5): I enjoyed my stay at Espress Inn & Suites Eugene and will book again next time I'm in Eugene. - Since the pandemic I’ve noticed a decline in the amenities at mid priced motels. I was very happy with my stay at Express Inn & Suites Eugene.
At first glance I was concerned. One unit had a boarded up window (I’m sure they are waiting for parts) and there is a sign on the office door to call this number for service. Tonya and her husband live at and manage the facility. Instead of hanging out at the office they are out on the property so your phone call get prompt results. They went above and beyond to accommodate their guest. You can tell that Tonya takes pride in her work. You only need to look at the meticulously maintained flower beds that I’m sure are all Tonya, not part of the franchise motif.
The rooms are large and the walls are thick. No street sounds from busy 6th ave could be heard. A concern was the near by train tracks but either the trains don’t run at night or they don’t have to blow their whistles during night time hours because it wasn’t an issue.
Most motel internet speeds are barely above dial up (2-3mbs). Express Inn came in at 70mbs so it wasn’t a struggle to load a webpage. Had good enough speed for anything you’d want to do.
My main point of interest was UofO’s Hayward field which was a doable 2 mile walk through interesting neighborhoods. There’s plenty of other things around at a shorter walk. It was nice to just park the car at the motel and not have to deal with the Eugene traffic or parking. Train whistles during the day but fortunately not an issue at night.
- alexandria (5/5): - staff is great, everything else was just OK. Beds were not comfortable, not many towels or wash cloths, train blowing horn all hours of the night, cars racing down the street all night, people yelling all night, not a safe area to be in TBH.
- Christian (1/5): -
- David Ikuo (8/5): -
- Terry (2/5): Never again will i book this site - Nothing ! This area was in drug invested area ....The room had horrible bed i have back trouble and the bed felt like i was sleeping in a brick my family scared to out doors .This posting need to show are and really show how the rooms are the bathroom had 2 rolls of toilet paper on a quarter left on roller luck i carry toilet paper i will never stay there ever again there rating are horrible never will i stay it like a drug area and home less people not good for family's that have kids ....luck just me and other person staying i rate this hotel 000000000 no coffee pot and microwave had no center plate to reheat foood !
- Donna (4/5): - The room was clean, but the beds were like sleeping on concrete after flying from SC to OR. It was not comfortable.
- Douglas (6/5): - Clean room, noisy due to busy street, manager lives on site.
- Raina (4/5): - My husband and I stayed at the motel after moving our daughter back to college. Unfortunately though it was very clean and the staff nice, we were charged 4 additional times after having prepaid for the accommodation prior to our arrival, and although we have tried four separate times in the past week to obtain a refund, we have yet to have been successful. They keep apologizing and promising a refund but no success thus far. It’s a money trap.
- Clarisse (8/5): - Lots of people hanging around the lot smoking, but overall seemed like an okay place. Beds weren’t great, but the room was clean and comfortable enough.
- Stephen (5/5): Not likely to stay there again - The room was nice There was a snafu with parking the trailer. I had called and they told me there was room, but they didn’t tell me that I have to disconnect my trailer from my truck.
- Teunis (8/5): - Room was clean. Was a good value for the price
- Amy (10/5): - The property manager was great!
- Robin (2/5): DO NOT STAY - DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.
This motel was NOT in a safe location nor do the pictures tell of the room quality, etc.
Spoke to the manager who understood and told me I would just be charged the 1 night as noted in their rules.
I still have not been refunded; have called and no one answers nor has Hotels.com been helpful.
I am rethinking this platform as a trust worthy place to find a place to stay.
- Brandon (8/5): - Great stay
- Aubrey (4/5): - What looked like broken down cars in the parking lot and a man walking around shirtless. The room smelled bad. I walked in the room barefoot and then I sat on the bed. My feet were BLACK. It was gross.
- Rachna (4/5): -
- Khanh (2/5): - Bad area. Staff wasn’t on site. Reception was locked at all time. No access to ice, cafe or breakfast
- NJ_Traveler05 (6/5): Very Clean although It's Seen Better Days - This 2-story motel will appeal to those who seek an inexpensive clean lodging for a short stay. The room was very clean, the air conditioner worked and the towels and complimentary toiletries were adequate. On the downside, the furniture was aged and battered and the overall atmosphere a bit grim. The neighborhood is mixed. Eugene's homeless challenge was on full display but there are some very good restaurants, food trucks and a delightful beer garden and patio within a few blocks. We didn't feel unsafe walking to them -- at least during the daylight hours. For those looking to explore Eugene on foot, the riverfront, rose garden, 5th Avenue Market and Saturday Market are within a walk of 20 minutes or so.
- Ashley (8/5): - Nice
- Kensey (10/5): - Property manager is very sweet and kind.
- Cheryl (6/5): - No comment
- Michael (10/5): - Rooms are very nice and was very quiet on the property.
Management was the best
- Jason (10/5): - Loved it
- David (9/5): Basic but just right! - Great, affordable place for a place to flop for a night while in town to see a show. Little Feat! Nice less-than-mile walk to lotsa music venues and great restaurants. The Receptionist was very nice and somebody has a very green thumb. Some beautiful flowers on the modest grounds. "Low-flow" shower head! Bed was a bit hard, but I didn't notice after rocking out for 2.5 hours and the stroll back through town.
- David (6/5): - Several times staff promised to return or provide the phone cord I left on a previous stay. They did not after several requests. Very disappointing.
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Harry (6/5): - Building is a bit run down. But, the rooms are clean enough and there are several good eateries within a three block radius. Staff was friendly.
- Ashley (2/5): - Booked the "suite." It was an outside window to check in and had to call manager to come down. The space was dirty and smelled of urine; it was clearly a party crash pad. Tiny TV in sitting area only, which wouldnt even connect to internet. Manager did at least come and try to help, with no luck. I think she knew we weren't the typical crowd who stays there (a mom and teen boy traveling.) She was friendly and offered to comp 50% of our stay because of thr TV issue (which didn't actually happen-no surprise with booking site). Someone tried coming in to our room around 11 pm, and luckily the door was locked. Noise and sirens all night, even manager screaming and kicking someone out at 2:30 am for tring to break in the check in window. Ended up only staying 6 hours because I was too scared to stay any longer. Much rather hang out in the airport lobby an extra 4 hours.
- Tamara (5/5): Good price, back location. - The woman at the desk was so very helpful!
Great shower! The room didn’t have a hair dryer or a coffee maker.
- eddy (10/5): - a great place to stay on a budget. I will definitely be staying here again. 7-11 was right across the street and red apple grocery store is a block and a half away. room was number 102. it was clean and comfortable with two beds. great shower with plenty of hot water. microwave and small fridge which managed to get the job done. The only thing that would have made it better is a small coffee pot with the accessories. The manager I dealt with was Tanya. very outgoing and a pure pleasure to do business with. She is customer oriented and well suited for the job. thanks again
- Bryan (10/5): - This was amazi g and a great night sleep
- David (6/5): Quick and accomodating - Low price and quick get away to airport. Really loved front desk hospitality and quick response to a room need.
- Verdella (6/5): Eww - I got this room because it said it had a pool, but the pool was unfortunately closed. They were doing maintenance in the hallway right next to my room and it was very smelly. There was also a lot of stains on the bed which made my daughter grossed out and we also Went and we also slept on one bed over the blankets.
- Kimberly (2/5): Very dirty, old, and unresponsive management - Unfortunately, upon arrival, I found that the surrounding conditions and the overall cleanliness of the hotel did not meet my expectations or those required for my family's comfort. Specifically, I noticed that the couch, air conditioning units, and decorative items exhibited an unsatisfactory level of cleanliness, which raised concerns for the safety and well-being of my infant child and myself.
In addition to concerns about the hotel’s interior, I observed that the parking lot contained several rundown vehicles that appeared to be inhabited, as well as individuals experiencing homelessness across the street. These observations contributed to my discomfort during my visit.
Given these circumstances, we decided not to stay and promptly notified the front desk of our departure. I have yet to receive a response from management or the owners regarding this.
- Dre (10/5): - Outstanding people
- David (10/5): - Very nice property. We'll stay there again.
- Trudie (8/5): - Manager on sight was very friendly and helpful.
- Tommie (6/5): - N/A
- Mccartney (4/5): Disappointing -
- Matthew (10/5): - The room was nice and very clean. The front desk staff wasvvery polite and helpful.
- tamara (2/5): - The office was locked when we tried to check in, there was a sign posted with a phone number. Upon calling that someone told us theyd be right down. So we stood outside, on a not safe feeling street, in the dark, just waiting. The beds were thin and so uncomfortable. The linens were also thin with no extra blankets anywhere.
- Anita (1/5): Bad - I'm still waiting for my refund from this property I didn't stay here because they had no hot water upon my arrival!!
- Rachelle (2/5): - Room smelled dusty, could hear people talking loudly in other rooms and could hear every time someone flushed a toilet or used the sink
- Anthony (10/5): Great - We will be staying again.
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (1/5): Bad -
- Raymond (4/5): - rooms were serviced only every 4th day
- Denise (9/5): The room was perfect for our first night in Oregon. - The room was clean and the beds comfortable. We arrived around midnight and the owner was readily available to give us the keys to the room and assured us that where we parked was in an appropriate spot. There was no coffee pot in the room - had to walk across the street to the 7-11 store for coffee in the morning. That was not convenient.
- Julie (6/5): Good location, good price. - Rooms were clean enough, price was good. Staff was friendly enough. When we arrived , we had to call a number; the office was not staffed. Then they told us there was nothing booked for us which put me off after a long day of driving. After a while, though, they sorted things out and found our booking. The location was good; on site parking. On the plus side we found a really good taco truck (El Buen Sabor) right around the corner where we had dinner. We flew to Eugene, Oregon for a week-long loop of driving: Southern Oregon Coast, Redwoods, Lava Beds National Monument, Crater Lake, then back to Eugene for one last night before flying home. We felt so welcome at every hotel we booked, except for this one. It stood out, as all of the other hotels really went out of their way to make us feel special.
- Robert (6/5): - Rooms were clean needing updating, lot of road noise in area of street people. Could hear every time doors closed on each side. It was ok for a place to sleep.
- Dominique (6/5): - .
- Richard (10/5): - This isn't the 4 seasons, but it fits its need if you need a clean place to sleep and shower. Only real complaint is its proximity to the street and train tracks. Extremely noisy traffic and train sounds like it's in your room.
- Frances A (10/5): - Bery friendly. Rooms are very spacious.
- Melissa (1/5): Bad - Absolutely nothing. We ended up just eating the money we paid to stay here and booked another hotel that night. Owners were not pleasant. Beds, we mine as well have had a room with no beds and slept on the floor as terrible as the beds are. There was a funky smell in the room and the floors look like they are never mopped. I can only imagine if we would have brought a black light and checked the room. #paybythehour
- Tyson (10/5): - Staff very welcoming and took 3x larger that expected and fit my family or 7 with ease.
- Bryan (4/5): - Very noisy. Atleast a one inch gap under the door you can hear EVERYTHING happening outside. Hard floors were dirty. I had no bath towels. For $130 for one night. This was piss poor.
- Barb (10/5): Rough start but got better - It was a difficult experience for check in. Requested an accessible room. No stairs. Were given second floor room. Which I protested. Was told that they never got a request for accessible room or no stairs. I had booked through Hotel.com. Was told I needed to book directly through the hotel.
The manger did try to see if she could get a ground floor room.
She was able to. Though this room had two queen beds. We didn't need two beds. It was a large room with a desk and a small couch. The manager even made offers to help us with our luggage, get us a bag of ice, and let us know when our cab arrived.
So we ended up happy with the stay.
- santiago (4/5): - .
- Lucca (10/5): - Good for price
- Juan (9/5): Superb - No comment
- Holly (10/5): Pretty good - Everything was really good. Except the light above the desk didn't work
- Ray (6/5): - Friendly, helpful staff. The room was pretty basic and the beds were not the best, but it provided a much needed night of rest.
- Smruti (2/5): - Expedia’s customer service was horrible. We pre-paid for two motel rooms. EXPRESS INN & SUITE. We called to let them know that we’ll be there within 30 minutes. The owner said to get there and giver her a call and to make sure we have our IDs ready for her to check , we agreed. She called 2 mins later and started verbally abusing and refused the service without any reason. The owner was extremely rude. We had two kids a 5 year old and a 10 year old and it was midnight. Since we already pre-paid we asked for refund and she refused and said “do whatever you want” and hung up on us.
- Patricia (2/5): - Lots of mold.
- Karen (8/5): Not amazing but not the worst by far; decent place to stay! - We arrived very late and the staff we very kind to come check us in in the middle of the night. Decent room. Clean. Comfortable enough. Microwave, fridge, and iron in the room which was nice. No Kleenex in the room. Beds were not great but not awful. They won’t change your sheets or give fresh towels daily unless you specially request it. Not their fault but outside across the street there was a security thing in a parking lot that made noise throughout the night. Sometimes it was also noisy when neighboring rooms used water. It wasn’t awful but if you’re sound sensitive or a light sleeper it might not be the place for you.
- Verified traveler (2/5): A sad lady with idle time and nothing to do - Scamming , lying scum ppl who get by via gaslighting and staged witnesses. Check BBB.
what goes around comes all the around. Tonya, the General manager, couldn’t manage a bowl of jello. Avoid this place all together , it’s trash. You’re betting off staying in a tent across street at the homeless camp where we had to due to her knack for lying her way to avoiding consequences.
Don’t take my word for it , check the BBB website for the specific address and name and you’ll see that Tonya’s accolades are basic at best.
Okay , I’m out. smd.
- skierjenn (2/5): Staff was hostile and rude - We made a reservation online through their website and had to cancel 10 days later, which I did over the phone. That was two weeks before our reservation. We were still charged for our room. When I called to get a refund, I was called a liar and they denied I ever cancelled the reservation. They said I made the reservation the day before, when I actually made it 1 month before. Sounds like it is run by a husband and wife and she was hostile to me over the phone.
- Kanayo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Reuben (9/5): Superb -
- Ezekiel (9/5): Superb - The staff was very helpful and accommodating The area is a little on the rough side, but that’s not the hotel’s fault
- Matthew (8/5): Clean, safe, and a great value. - A simple, no frills place but well kept and the staff are great. Terrific value for a clean, safe room. The surrounding neighbourhood is a little rough. Not unsafe, just not much to look at. However, a ten minute walk got me into a nice downtown area.
- Lois R. (8/5): - My bed was quite non-responsive - no 'give' in the mattress which caused a headache in the morning.
- Ann (8/5): - Good value, clean, well-located, spacious room, friendly and accommodating service. Mattress a bit hard and no hair dryer in room, but provided upon request. Would stay again.
- Ann (10/5): Clean, spacious and inexpensive - This is an inexpensive, clean place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious, adequately appointed. Ask at the desk for a hairdryer!
- suchreet (2/5): - Terrible customer service. Called to let staff know that the person that booked the stay had their truck break down on the highway and will not be making it to the reservation. Although the option to have a refund was not paid for in advance we asked the manager if there was any way to get a partial refund. The general manager spoke in a very unprofessional tone and was very rude throughout the call. Strongly do not recomend staying here! 0/10 expierence just from a phone call all it took!
- Annabel (8/5): great value - Prompt service, very courteous. was on second story and i have to appreciate that the floors are in very good condition: solid and newer flooring. i didnt feel like i had to watch my step for the neightbors. very clean room. bed mattresses are harder steel spring but id brought my camping gear so just laid my mat on top. rooms are very minimal. good selection of tv stations and strong wifi
- Mandy (4/5): - The room had a strong perfume odor. We left the room door and window open for hours. Socks are black on the bottom from walking on floors.
- dianalJ3433BU (10/5): Cozy & Warm Hearted - The first sign of welcome that started to draw me into this space was the warmth and tenderness that I felt when I was greeted on the phone by Tonya. That lovely phone interaction then lead to an in person experience that cascaded into more warmth and comfort. Tonya's kindness, sincerity, and even the gentleness in her voice was something that I will always remember and carry with me.
- Nora (6/5): - This property is older but well maintained. My main concern is the lack of feeling safe in the neighborhood where it is located.
- Jeff (8/5): Comfort and walkable dining for a reasonable price. Thumbs up! :o) - The location is actually great. The walk to Amtrak is only 1.1 miles away. There is Laughing Planet (excellent food!, and Veg friendly!) just a few quick blocks away. And there is a bakery and a natural grocery store (Veg friendly!) with a deli and good variety of snacks less than a 1/2 mile walk away. Would stay here again. There is street traffic noise, but it quiets down by 9:00 pm. Always bring earplugs and a sleepmask.
- Neal (6/5): Pleasant - Affordable, bare-bones place. It was what I expected, though perhaps having a box of tissues in the room would be nice.
- Cody (10/5): - The customer service. I think the location is a bit noisy is all.
- Cody (10/5): - Beautiful flowers, honest service.
- Brittany (5/5): Great hospitality, very attentive staff, but the beds are hard and the floors aren’t the cleanest. - The staff were very sweet and welcoming! Just an old property. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. My son spilt my water and after I got done wiping it up with a towel, the towel was black from the floor.
- Jeff (9/5): Superb -
- Lindsley (2/5): Felt unsafe and uncomfortable, couldn’t wait to leave. - Room and bedding was clean, price was affordable Staff harassed my mom off the premises when she was just dropping us off and not staying
- Demonslayer (9/5): Superb -
- Osvaldo (4/5): It was quiet but very dirty and the staff were not friendly or attentive to guests. - I like that the area was quiet, there was a 711, and some places to eat within walking distance. I travel 5 to 8 times in the year for pleasure and work - I never leave bad reviews unless the experience was bad, which it was for this case. From my arrival, there was no one in the desk/office, I had to call a number and ring a bell while waiting outside for over 5 minutes until someone showed up. They assisted me to check in through a little window, not even opened the office. The hotel room was dusty, the desk, the chair and sofa were stained from various things, the AC was also super dusty, there was a weird smell in the room, the bathroom was ok except for the towels with black/brown stains, and the floor and corners were dusty as well. The staff didn't provide any new towels during my staff except 1 hour before I had to leave the room. Also, no staff came to pick up any of my garbage during all 4 days that I stayed. The bed covers were also dirty, stained, and smelled funky. As I was about to leave on Saturday morning, another staff member or manager knocked very loud in my door as I was wrapping up to get all my things by 11 am - I left the room at 11:05 am and the staff member was yelling in a very rude tone that "you have to leave, you can't stay here any longer." Also, when returning the keys, nobody was in the office, I called, I rang the bell and waited, then my Uber driver arrived, so I left the keys through the side window.
- Pamela (10/5): - It had clean room.Staff was friendly and helpful
- Mary (10/5): - Great staff and comfortable beds!!
- Donna (10/5): - handy location but noisy traffic
- Patricia (6/5): - Was just a little motel. Not much. Bed wa extremly hard and sat on a metal box. Noisey. No extra blankets, towels or pillows. Had 2 shampoos. Nothing else. No hand towels or wash clothes.
- Katie (8/5): What's not to Love? - Huge room! Great value, hassle-free check in.
