- Christopher (10/5): I had a comfortable time there - The quietness of the room and surroundings at night. The TVs are outdated
- terzian (8/5): -
- Wendy (7/5): - no breakfast, pretty sure I was the only guest that night, kind of in middle of nowhere, but nice motel, I would stay there again if need arose.
- Michael (10/5): -
- shelly (8/5): Nice Pool - Average hotel in an out of the way location. Nothing stood out good or bad. It was a good place to get a good night’s rest. No frills.
The pool is a nice size. No fences, trees, or buildings blocking the sun. No breezes giving you unwanted chills.
- Andrei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (4/5): - Very friendly staff. room was run down. Needed new paint and carpet had several stains. beds not very cozy. Was much cleaner when we stayed 3 years ago. Like it is now I would not recommend staying here.
- Sarah (9/5): Clean, comfortable rooms & friendly people - Good value for the cost, clean room and well kept pool. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We forgot to ask for an ADA room in advance, and the lady was very understanding, getting us not only a ground floor room, but the one we'd just parked in front of. Water pressure in the shower could be better, but that may just be a water saving feature. Mattresses are firm, a little too firm for my son but ok for me.
- Arben (6/5): Pleasant -
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, but needs some updating. - The room was spacious but in neèd of some updating. For example, the furnishings were showing wear. Some expected items for a hotel stay were not in the room, for example, bathroom tissue. Also, some maintenance items were completed at a subaverage level; ie, bathroom caulking. Parking and overall facility were fine.
- René (7/5): Convenient stay near the southern entrance to Carrizo Plain NM - Good location near the south of Carrizo Plain NM
- Douglas (8/5): - Greatful it's there. Fair price. I'll go again.
- Sonia (10/5): - I love to stay there it's really quiet to sleep
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Timothy (8/5): Good value solid option for work and business trip - This is a solid option for a business trip in the area. Be sure to request drinking water at front desk, as area tap water isn't drinkable. Room and bed was clean and comfortable. Staff was courteous.
- Eduardo (10/5): - Great service
- Jordan (6/5): - Staff was friendly, but the housekeepers seem pretty percistent to get the room back. Checkout is 11am and they start knocking at 10:00am
- Vicente (9/5): Superb -
- Sonia (10/5): I will came back - The silence of the area None
- Yutaka (7/5): Good - Price No hot water in bath
- Brian (10/5): Most Excellent! - I like the laundry room & the swimmimg pool.
- Barry (10/5): A surprise gem in just the right place -
- Geoffrey (2/5): - hotel room filthy. the worse I've ever seen. gross. very dirty.
the parking lot was well lit.
- Bruce (10/5): Great location and reasonable price. - The room was comfortable with a couch and desk in addition to the bed, nightstand, and chair.
- Cynthia (8/5): Convenient clean room affordable rate - Very clean room, soft bed. Very nice gentleman check me in. Accommodated my special request too. Rm 215 should fix bath tub as the water runs out the faucet & shower head. Bad given a drought.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Don’t remember if there was one.
- Melinda (10/5): - Mostly clean, everything works, no critters, AC and heating, safe and convenient.
- Nancy (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (8/5): - Fast check in, staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean.. bed was a little uncomfortable, you could hear the springs when you rolled over or even sat down.. but all in all not bad for the price.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - The size of the room The customer service needs alot of work they need to be more friendly, and the ice maker didn't work . I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone
- Todd (6/5): - It is the only hotel for miles. It was OK. could be cleaner.
- Bonnie (9/5): Superb -
- KENNETH (8/5): - Reasonable. The only motel option in town that seems in decline.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - TV had limited channels
- Wedebrand (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martijn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Swift (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (8/5): When I'm in the area for strenuous ikes, Motel - Clean comfy and convenient, and best of all, affordable. Surprisingly quiet for being located at a busy highway intersection. In a tiny town with only one restaurant, it's good to get a refrigerator and microwave in every room. The ice machine barely functions. It's a little short on common motel amenities like in-room coffee, facial tissue, and lotion, but all the basics were there. WiFi password didn't work.
- Sharon (8/5): Motel 8 is a safe, clean, and comfortable stopover whenever I am in the area for outdoor recreation. - I like having a refrigerator and microwave in such a clean, comfortable, affordable, and convenient motel. I appreciated that they allowed a late check in. Our room was upstairs. It felt like the walkway was coming off the building. The bathroom door wouldn't shut because the latch plate wasn't properly installed. WiFI password doesn't work.
- Ilianet (7/5): Good -
- Matej (7/5): Good - Location, staff Dead crickets in our room, otherwise fine
- Denise (10/5): I've stayed several times when doing volunteer work at nearby wildlife refuge. Clean, comfortable. -
- Leticia (8/5): Very good - Staff
- Magdalena (8/5): clean, big room, quiet - The hotel was fine. It was clean and the room was big and had everything that was mentioned in the description. I booked it as an overnight stay on my way to Los Angeles. It is in the middle of oil fields and the landscape is quite sad.
- Vitoria (8/5): Very good -
- Cesar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rashdan (9/5): Superb - Quiet... Nice bed Location close enough to Taft
- Richard (8/5): - Nice place to stay for the night.
- Hugh (9/5): Good spot for the region - convenient nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- J (9/5): Superb -
- Viktor (8/5): Very good -
- Md (5/5): Passable -
- Bruce (8/5): Great value and it completely met my needs. - I expected basic accomodations, which is exactly what I got. The place was reasonbly clean, and there was plenty of hot water, and the bathroom was quite decent. The bed was much more comfortable than the ones usually found in lower cost places, far superior to Motel 6 ! The price and value are excellent, but this is a remote location and not a tourist destination, at least not for most people. I would stay there again and highly recommend the place.
Convenience store across the street has quite a bit of stuff, opens early and closes late. It is very helpful for those staying at the motel. Maricopa could use a restaurant of some kind. Nothing really - it met expectations.
- Robert (8/5): The staff was pleasant and responsive. - The location was convenient. It was perfect for my purposes.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Jan (6/5): - The bed is very uncomfortable. You can almost feel the spring poking out. Both my husband and I woke up with aches all all body.
- Kirill (9/5): Superb - no breakfast, coffee only location, location, location. quiet, safe, not expensive and clean. Easy find, all good.
- Smith (5/5): Passable - Convenient The place was pretty worn and dirty.
- Stephen (9/5): Good place to stage visits to Carrizo Plain and Taft. - It is close to South Entrance of Carrizo Plain. The room had a sofa and an armchair. No sink in the bathroom. Sink was in common area.
- Rodriguez (10/5): Relaxing - Good place for a good price
- Deon (10/5): - Great place for an overnight near the Carrizo and Cuyama. Affordable, clean, convenient.
- Mikhail (10/5): Great location. Very clean place. Very friendly staff. Much much better than you can expect. -
- J (8/5): Very good -
- Ina (8/5): Very good - clean, easy check in, very friendly staff
- Don (3/5): Poor - The carpet and furniture was very badly stained and worn, making the room feel dirty even though it was clean. Because of the poor condition of the furniture, we didn't use them for anything other than supporting the suitcases.
- Shrihari (8/5): Very good -
- Thebakery (8/5): Very good -
- CINDY (10/5): - Basics but super quiet, clean and friendly, would stay here again!
- Ritchie (8/5): Good place to stay while visiting Carrizo Plain National Monument - Attentive host and staff.
- Deborah (6/5): We were glad to find an acceptable motel in a relatively remote place. - The location was in a very hard scrabble city but was central to what we were visiting. No upstairs guests to create noise. A lot of bird song in the morning. And you could walk across the highway to the deli in the Shell station. Had a refrigerator with a freezer and a microwave. The towels/ linen were very thin and small. Linen service was stingy. No coffee service in the room. Truck noise in the morning.
- Nancy (8/5): - Office staff was pleasant. Everything was as stated, no surprises. Very comfortable bed and pillows.
- Ruth (8/5): Nice Stay Near Carrizo National Monument - We were given a huge room (you do not see rooms that large anymore) with a large bed, sofa, desk, mini-fridge, microwave and more. We had everything needed to spend a comfortable night in the area. Checking in was fast and easy. We used the hotel to rest after visiting Carrizo National Monument. I cannot point anything I didn't like about this motel. Keep in ming this is an old school, no frills motel. You are not getting a fancy hotel room. In my opinion, the place is suited for short stays. The city of Maricopa is very small. You may need to drive 6-8 miles to Taft to have a bit more of restaurant and shopping variety.
- Matthew (7/5): Good -
- Joseph (5/5): You get what you pay for. - Close to the location that I was working on. Rooms are very dated, stains n the carpets, furniture beat up, holes in chairs. Mattress was rock solid, the bedding looked like is was a few decades old and very worn.
- Kathleen (7/5): We love to visit this area when the wildflowers are in bloom! - This is an older motel, with many upgrades: the linens are spotless (and no artificial scents); mattresses are new; there's a micro/fridge; flat screen TV with many channels; endless hot water; easy access to nearby Carrizo Plain Natl Monument. The area feels safe and is quiet at night. We appreciate how hard these folks work to keep this place going in an spot that doesn't generally get much tourist business. All corners of the room need some attention with a crevice tool on a vacuum cleaner. There are old stains on the upholstered chairs. If you want in-room coffee, you'll have to bring your own fixings, as none are provided. You might have to ask for the ice machine to be turned "on" at the office, but it does work just fine.
- Sian (8/5): Very good - OK for an overnight stop. Coffee available in the hotel lobby in the morning. Nowhere to eat locally in the evening but snacks and some hot food available to take away from the garage across the street.
Don't miss Tina's Diner for breakfast! All a bit tired and dated. The screen didn't fit on the window properly. Assorted lumpy pillows.
- Roman (7/5): Good -
- Lu00do00 (7/5): Good -
- Victoria (1/5): We never stayed. Pay/no stay. Ended up going home. Area was not as expected-not enough to do. -
- Heidi (8/5): Very good - great location to Carrizzo Plain. Funky town-someone needs to buy this up and restore=potential. Loved Tina and her diner.
- Marco (2/5): NEVER AGAIN - NOTHING dirty room as I have never seen before
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenn (9/5): Superb - Staff was nice and friendly And rooms were clean and comfortable Everything was good
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay Away!! - I understand that this is a older hotel. I don't mind older furnishings or decor but a room being so dirty makes it hard to sleep. 3 Long black hairs on the bed, 2 in the shower, dirty toilet, 2 dirty towels, and a dirty pillow case with boogers on it. We had traveled all day and were exhausted and my husband had already unloaded our luggage and all his tools into the room otherwise we would have left! Its obvious they are not changing bedding or towels out, much less doing any cleaning at all!! Do yourself a favor and drive to Taft or any other town for a decent clean room!
