Also there is bus routes and local shops for amenities - The room was clean comfortable you have all the amenities in your room a kettle tea coffee fridge tv ext.. even though you can’t cook in your room which is a brilliant idea you do have the option too use the facilities in the rest area in the property People banging in other rooms at stupid o clock at night apart from that I have no issue
• Christine (7/5): - Location 3 flights of narrow steps to our room . We were unable to bring our luggage up the stairs and left it in the car overnight. The shower was a tight fit, especially for my husband.
• Jan (6/5): A clean functional stay about 20 minute walk from the Shambles - It was clean Shabby and the plug didn’t reach in the sink which doesn’t sound much, but the hot water was boiling so we could only use cold water

Staff very helpful and thoughtful. Helpful parking arrangements. Telephone staff and in house staff very nice and helpful. Nothing.

• Sharon (9/5): Almost perfect - Located walking distance to York city. Our room was large and comfortable. Guests are not allowed to use the gas stove.

• Annunziata (4/5): Smelling - The area was ok. Close to city centre. Place was absolutely dirty. Every single corner of it. Bed sheet with stains. I was very close to leave the place and book somewhere else (I had a baby with me) . During the evening I needed some water, I went down to the kitchen, as soon as I opened my room's door, a smell of fried fish all over the structure, I could barely breath for how bad it was. I run back to my room and realised the smell filled my room to. Absolutely disgusting. This is when I packed and I was ready to leave but soon I had to change my mind due to my baby being really tired and upset. No staff on site to ask for help or any type of information. The lady who welcomed us was kind enough but didn't see her anymore. No one cares about guests. Mattresses where you could feel the springs straight in your back. How could you ever keep a place in such a bad status ? Stay away from it.

• Joshua (9/5): Lovely - Lovely quiet street and location with park and nice cafe’s and Sainsbury’s near by. The only constructive feedback is that the access codes (for late check in) were sent at the very last minute (about 10 minutes before we said we’d arrive). Which I personally found slightly stressful due to not wanting to have to try and contact the owner/manager late at night. Would have preferred either being sent the access codes earlier or at least had some assurance that they’d be sent through by a particular time.

Auch die Parksituation war nach Vorbuchung auch spät Abends noch entspannt. Check in per Telefon, aber es ging 15 Minuten lang niemand ran, Zustand des Zimmers war fragwürdig, Bad, sowie ganzes Haus, sah deutlich mitgenommen aus. Es war zudem kein Toilettenpapier vorhanden und da es relativ spät und niemand vor Ort war, mussten wir selbst welches besorgen.

• Philip (8/5): On the whole for the time I was there (2 nights) it was all.I needed ..I did like the park area - The room.only had small cups, so it could do with getting a couple of nice mugs. Also something to stir your drink ... One time about about 1:30 am two ladies came down stairs just talking a bit loud considering the time. ( It woke me up .and I'm not a light sleeper. ) So you could put a sign up.to have deals t and whisper of need be. Specially as its this time. Ok

• Paolo (10/5): Una bella sistemazione a York - Bella camera con bagno in casa vittoriana di fine Ottocento. Posizione comoda, a circa 15 minuti a piedi dalla stazione e a circa 25 minuti dal centro della città di York.
• Dheepa (7/5): Ok for the price but wouldn't stay again. - It was exactly where we wanted to be, just outside central York. Despite requesting parking 3 days prior and confirming our arrival time, no details were sent. On the day of travel in the middle of our drive up I had messages urgently requesting confirmation of whether parking was required and arrival time. I confirmed both when we stopped for a break, sending car details as requested. There is no one in site at the property, upon calling the number, the gentleman answering the phone was unsure as to whether he could find our booking- it turns out they have five properties. He also had no knowledge of my parking request and the information I had sent and I kept having to refer him to correspondence on booking.com I don't mind staying somewhere where the host is offsite but this felt very impersonal and disorganised. We eventually got sent the access code and link to park. Triple room on the second floor with ensuite bathroom. Bathroom was clean. Bedroom very tiny, ok as were just staying one night, double glazing was not very good as was very draughty at night and we were freezing. It is also in the eaves so not good for a tall person, fortunately we are not. Ok for the price, but wouldn't stay again.

Room was clean and facilities were everything we needed Phone numbers didn’t work. Apparently this is down to too many calls going through but this does need to be sorted out. Having said that, they were always quick to respond to messages and we got into the property within a few minutes so there was no issues

I didn't check about the car parking charge so had to pay it after the main booking. We had a plenty suppy of milk, coffee, tea etc or we could help ourselves from the kitchen. Had a plenty blankets, towels. We didn't meet staff on arrival but were helpful on a phone call. They must have sent an email with code etc but we were travelling so didn't know the procedure to enter the guest house. Very close to the city centre and on route of Hop on and off bus. Which is quite convenient. Didn't meet any staff except cleaners on checkout time. Didn't realise to pay car parking, which paid after the booking. Window in the shower room was not abke to close, so it was very cold.

Main heat did not come either at night or in the morning. It was February and not particularly warm. The heater supplied in the room did not work there were no ectra blankets in the room and no one on site to tell.

Nice touch with tea/coffee and bottles of water supplied. There was no heating on and had to plug in a small oil radiator which took hours to heat the room up. The bathroom was like an ice box as the window didn’t shut properly but as it was winter it was freezing and also a vent blasting freezing air into the bathroom

• Nadya (7/5): Bien para estadía corta - La habitación tenía mini fridge, te, tetera, café y azúcar. Era amplia y tranquila, no se escuchaba ruido y en general era muy silencioso. Todo correcto. Estaba lista antes del check in y nos la entregaron. Tenía Netflix. Es una casa antigua, y aunque eso tiene su encanto, son tres pisos y bastantes tramos de escalera, así que subir las maletas es difícil. La persiana de la habitación nunca cerró del todo, estaba dañada y se filtraba la luz. El baño es helado y la ducha súper pequeña.
• soltrom (4/5): - The possibility of late check-in was very convenient and appreciated. At the last minute, the location of the room was changed to a completely different hotel, which was disappointing. In addition, the room felt damp and there was an unpleasant musty smell.
