Guest Reviews
- Judith (8/5): Serene, quiet while communing with nature. - Very unique, with a lovely vibe.
- renaud (10/5): -
- Camille (10/5): - If you're looking for a place to sleep that is out of the tourist hotels, with a lot of people... Whether you want to be quiet, in the middle of the jungle with the sound of birds to wake you up, then this is the place for you. An amazing 4 night experience here. Adone is a host who, in addition to giving you good tips and advice, will prepare good dishes for you.
A cama é confortável e o anfitrião é legal. Os insetos.
- francois (4/5): -
- Skawol (10/5): - Świetna lokalizacja, przyroda wokół, cisza, spokój a jednocześnie blisko do głównej drogi, do Coby i Tulum. Bardzo pomocny i uczynny właściciel. Śniadania smaczne choć najskromniejsze jakie widziałem 😀
- Thomas-Luc (10/5): -

Logement charmant.
Hôte très accueillant, bon petit déjeuner continental.
- Ales (10/5): -
- Alexane (10/5): Magical stay in Casa Mango ✨ - I loved my stay here. Casa Mango is surrounded by nature, which makes it feel peaceful and magical. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, always making sure I felt comfortable.
I had the best time and highly recommended for anyone who wants to disconnect, recharge, and experience the beauty of nature with wonderful hospitality. 🌴💛
No había shampoo.
- Billy (10/5): Calmness in the jungle - Quietness and relaxed but great customer service.
Very flexible and patience with our late arrival and accommodating our last minute requests, which we didn't expect they to do it.
Loved the scrambled eggs breakfast and was by far my favorite place during our staying visiting the Yucatan peninsula. Nothing really, but if I have to say something... I know it's silly since the place is in the jungle, but we sometimes needed internet to book or plan our next day and couldn't always do it from our cabin because of the wifi
- Alison (10/5): Lovely spot outside of Tulum centre - The owner was very nice and refunded us for our remaining night after we had an allergic reaction to the cat. The jungle setting is very peaceful and breakfast and dinner ambiance was lovely. Nothing if you aren't allergic to cats! Unfortunately one of us experienced a bad reaction as the cat had been in the room before us.
- Nicola (8/5): Wonderful staff, fantastic food but remote location. - The staff were wonderful! Extremely friendly and warm lovely people. Breakfast was delicious- the coffee was incredible and really couldn’t fault the helpfulness of everyone there. I thought the hostel was in Tulum, but it was about 20km away and pretty cut off from attractions- you need a scooter or a car to get around.
- Rafal (10/5): Exceptional - It is very quiet location, very helpful staff nothing
- Kenneth (10/5): Beautiful stay with great food and an attentive host - I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms from leaving Casa Mango. A lovely stay in the jungle, near to a traditional small Mexican town. Great for folks who would like a character-full b and b experience. The owner built all the cabins on the property and is an excellent host who offers a boutique restaurant dinner that you should definitely reserve.
- Antonio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Noga (9/5): Lovely jungle stay with great food! - Adone the owner built this jungle property from the ground and operates a delightful italian restaurant here as well. We loved our stay and the bungalow, we would efficiently recommend! Just FYI there are no animals (donkeys, bunnies etc) anymore for the time being at least, which was a disappointment for our daughter, but we still had fun with the dog and cats.
- Kai (8/5): Very good - Friendly and helpfull owner. Beautiful garden/property.
- Carol (7/5): Nice Bungalow - It's a beautiful bungalow set in the jungle very quiet It did not have the greatest water pressure for a shower . And the road entering was a little rough
- Scarlett (10/5): Comfortable authentic Mayan jungle experience ! - Magical deligfhtrful jungle cabins…so luxurious spacious and comfortable witty everything we needed! Even delicious scented locally sourced organic soap bars!!!
Owner runs an amazing place and couldn’t do enough for us!!! We ended up extending our stay
Also a delightful Italian restaurant dont miss the tiramisu!!!
Very family friendly with swings and hammocks and lots of animals …and chickens at the back! Nothing
Italiaanse eigenaar. Kamers zijn ruim en erg netjes. Geen airco maar wel een fan. Uitstekend ontbijt. Goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding
- Chandiren (10/5): - Perfect
But it would be much easier to rent a car to travel around instead of public transport
- Michael (10/5): - Calm, relaxing atmosphere. Clean rooms. Polite, helpful staff.
- Karl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Omar (9/5): Very nice and highly recommend - It was very clean and with beautiful architecture. Lots of wonderful details all around, and lovely staff!
- Václav (9/5): Superb - Nice and quite location, friendly staff, clean house, delicious dinner.
- Maxime (8/5): A short but nice escape - La casa mango is a beautiful place. Waking up to birdsong and a good breakfast is great. The very typical room offers a real escape. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood around Casa Mango isn't great. It's very noisy, with parties in the nearby square.
- Regina (10/5): Beautiful stay in nature, highly recommend! - We really loved our stay. The unique and homey architecture, surrounded by nature, excellent breakfast and lovely hosts, what more can you ask for? Highly recommend! We were lucky with the weather during our stay but keep in mind that there is no AC.
You also have to consider that the rooms have some gaps so that some small critters can come inside.
- Caron (10/5): Family Fun in the Jungle - Casa Mango is fantastic! It far exceed our expectations! Our 16 month old daughter loved exploring the property. Great meals and great hospitality. We’ll be back and would highly recommend to friends
- Sara (10/5): Love it - The room and the sorrounding was natural full of greens .was very relaxing and the owner was very helpfull
- Tomasz (9/5): It was great place in small jungle. I can recommend this place if you want to relax in the nature. - Wonderful meals (breakfast and dinners). Everything was fresh. Wifi works good. Quiet in the neighbourhood. The mosquito net in houses between walls and roof. But even with this small clearances between it was really fine.
- Barbora (10/5): Best place ever - Everything, it was the most beautiful place we have ever been to, it's 20 min drive to Tulum, it's quiet, beautiful, the bed was sooo comfortable with extra blankets available (but duvet is very nice on its own). You are woken up by sounds of nature. We also tried the restaurant for dinner (fantastic Italian food with homemade pasta to die for) and had the breakfast (mango juice, fruit plate, coffee, tea, European bread with butter, sweet Italian cake). And of course, you have your own cabin with hamaca in front of it.
- Alasdair (9/5): Magical, beautiful, peaceful, comfortable- in short, the best place on Booking - This is a truly incredible place, skilfully hand-built with obvious love in a beautiful & seemingly secluded section of jungle. I could easily have stayed here the whole time, not going anywhere, but the location is perfect for visiting a whole range of local attractions inc. Punta Laguna, Coba & various stunning cenotes. Can't fault Andone on anything at all- simply fantastic! Nothing comes to mind other than the mosquitos but that's obviously part & parcel of jungle living and, quite frankly, they weren't even that bad :D
- Rob (9/5): Superb - Cool place in the jungle. Very unique. Great food. Google maps took us in on a terrible road. Take one block further west, the road is much better.
- Radomír (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place in jungle, perfect english speaking owner, perfect service.....beautiful!
- Ulrike (9/5): Go there if you want an „unusual“ stay! - Exceptional place as you feel like spending the night in the jungle. Well equipped, nice Design ( mainly the bathroom). Look out of the window is into the jungle around. Don‘t forget earplugs- animals make noises throughout the Night :-)
Breakfast was very good! Toilet did not work properly
- Bastian (10/5): Best party during our stay of 3 weeks in Mexico, unique jungle-experience. - We stayed one night at Casa Mango, a great experience to stay in the jungle.
Lou, the host, is a great entertainer, after dinner, I ate the best home-made gnocchi ever, he told us to stay for the show and a show it was with Lou performing, dancing and singing and all guests present to join in, singing, dancing or doing whatever performance they liked, our best party in all of our Mexican vacation.
It also was a great opportunity to exchange experiences with the other guests.
Use the road NOT suggested by google, the one suggested by google is past a horse and gets quite rough, though not impossible to slowly pass with 2 front-wheel driven car at slow speed.
The party was so exciting, I totally forgot to take any pictures. Loved the breakfast with strong coffee and fresh juice.
Thanks to Lou for the great experience, we will come back, not sure when but we will do. Negative, not really anything, however be aware that your are staying in the jungle, it is humid and warm, you will sweat, not negative for the property at all, just be aware and bring some Mosquito repellent.
- Klaus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (9/5): Beautiful and quiet place in the jungle - Very nice and quiet stay at Casa Mango, we couldn't have wished for more. Exactly what we were looking for, a quiet place in the nature where you wake up to the birds signing. Very friendly owner and delicious breakfast. A 25 minutes drive from downtown Tulum. We will definitely be back. Smell of humidity in the room.
- Silvia (8/5): Very good -
- Rick (10/5): Unique jungle property... - Great vibe, nice owner.
Close to small convience stores As others have said, spiders around, possibly regular fumigation would help.
- Goda (8/5): Nice comfy cottage house in the jungle - The host was Italian guy. Cottage house was really nice and huge. Comfy beds and facilities. In the middle of the jungle. Local experience. I expected a bit more of hospitality, but maybe it is because we arrived later in the evening and left the property early in the morning. We found a huge spider in the toilet, so don't be surprised! It is a jungle :D
- Hana (7/5): Good -
- Karen (10/5): Unique - Brie, lovely and helpful lady. She gave us a lovely guided tour upon arrival. The huts are absolutely beautiful and unique. Beds were super comfy and the shower was just magical. Mosquitoes are hungry little buggers.
- Ruben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prottoy (6/5): Pleasant - Location felt isolated (which was nice) even though it was close to main roads and food/artisanal shops nearby. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were spacious, quiet and surrounded by lots of greenery. We had booked for two nights, but they notified us the morning after the first night that our room was double booked and they needed to move us to a different room. Mosquito nets had holes in both rooms (we got bitten a lot), and water pressure was very low in the showers. The room fans weren't powerful enough for the middle of June, so maybe not the best time to visit.
- Alex (10/5): Wow, what a find. Lovely cabanas in a jungle setting - The Italian owner was away but his manager Julio looked after us great even though we spoke very little Spanish and he spoke no English. Nothing.
- Belle (10/5): Exceptional - Unique experience and set-up. This property has a raw charm about it, we loved it. It completely exceeded our expectations. Spiders in our room! But it is in the jungle so we learnt to coexist :)
- Aurore123 (9/5): Very cool - Very cool , great experience. Good breakfast. Hot shower, antimosquito. 👍 Difficult to get a taxi or bus to go to coba or valladolid
- Gemma (8/5): Lovely place - The staff are so pleasant, they can't do enough for you. The location is perfect and not too far away from Tulum. Its jungle setting is so peaceful and relaxing. We already miss the donkeys Horatio and Bianca and Layla the doggie. We will be going back!
Thank you Adone and Casa Mango,
Lewis and Gemma
- Melody (9/5): It was great! - The breakfast was amazing. The staff were wonderful and friendly. I loved seeing the birds around the property. It was a little hard to find, but when we called, we were given very good directions on how to get there. The only thing that could have made the stay better is if there was air conditioning in the room. It wasn't very hot the night we stayed there, but we weren't used to the humidity, so it felt very stuffy.
- Jennifer (10/5): Absolutely wonderful place - Wonderful place nearby Tulum, but a little bit far away from the "big" tourism. Great place in all aspects, nice people, absolutely clean and lovely rooms. Delicious breakfast and dinner, affordable price. Was travelling with my daughter, for her it was a perfect experience hearing all this jungle music in the morning and hanging around with the dog Lala and the Cat :D
Would love to come back! Thanks so much for everything 🧡
- Picannkho (10/5): Magical place in the jungle, fantastic owner and staff. - Beautiful place in the jungle. Plenty of wildlife to spot from the hammock. Staff and owner are fantastic and go above and beyond. Really want to specially thank Adonis, what a great time we had. I definitely recommend this place if you want to stay in a quite and beautiful jungle setup, still in a good location and distance to main locations.
- Flo (9/5): It’s a lovely paradise - It is a wonderful paradise all built up by the owner himself. Lovely cabañas in the woods. A lot of silence, and the sound of birds. Very good Italian cuisine and breakfast. Very clean room, and nice staff working. The only downside it the location. It is a bit harder to reach. This may as well be the upside, since it is not so touristic unlike most of Tulum. The best way is to take a rental car or a collectivo, and then walk a bit.
- Curtis (10/5): Great place at a great price - Great stay with Adone and his staff. What a nice peaceful place to stay. Adone was very attentive to all of our needs
- Troy (9/5): Wonderful stay, very relaxing and quiet. A nice change from busy-ness of Tulum. - Loved the jungle setting, very peaceful, good birding on-site and along roads surrounding property, excellent continental breakfast, friendly host and staff. No dislikes.
- Troy (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (10/5): - Beautiful place
- Jacek (7/5): Good - Beautiful place on the jungle edge, nice bungalows well designed. Nice food served in restaurant. Peaceful place during the day and night. Saturday night you will not sleep as loud music from neighborhood techno party club. Till 3 am... Personel talk only Spanish beside of owner who can speak English. No hot water, no problem for me but for my child. However next day we were allowed to use other bungalow's shower where hot water was.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Adone, thank you so much for this jungle experience. We immediately felt at home at your wonderful place and enjoyed it a lot. The tips and recommendations for the area were fantastic!
- Rosario (10/5): Excellent - Dedicated owner, excellent attention, tasty food, quiet
- Joel (10/5): A truly magical place to stay - The hospitality, everyone working at Casa Mango was incredible friendly and helpful. We loved the room, I don't think the pictures on here do it justice, they were truly magical! We also loved the surrounding town of Macario gomez, everyone in the town was really welcoming. We didn't have a car, but found it easy enough to go visit Coba and cenotes nearby by Collectivo. Adones is a great host with lots of insightful knowledge about the surrounding jungle and they serve great Italian food as well as Mexican cuisine. I'd recommend going for the included breakfast also, it was a lovely treat eating our breakfast in the beautiful jungle restaurant each morning. Can't really recommend it enough.
- Markus (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location, great and clean bungalow. Restaurant offers dinner, because there is not much in town. Great value for the price. Breakfast minimal but you can order more, but you have to pay extra.
- Jakub (9/5): Attraction, not accomodation - Great opportunity to spend a night in the jungle! Amazing atmosphere, helpful host, delicious italian cuisine on site, good starting point when traveling to Tulum, Chichen Itza or cenotes. When arriving from Tulum, turn left into first road AFTER Casa Mango (not the one next to taqueria, but the next).
- Carsten (10/5): Exceptional - Adonis was a super great host. We loved the atmosphere, the open air restaurant and his kind hospitality.
You really get the Jungle experience!
Most of all his recommendations for activities in the area were amazing. The Punta Laguna activitiy was truly fascinating. It is reachable only by car but I would recommend it to everyone who stops here.
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tobias (10/5): Exceptional - This place is just beautiful, the perfect harmony of nature/jungle and civilization. The owner of the hotel ist a genuinely good person, he even let me use his kichen, borrowed a really good mountainbike & did a private tour with me through the jungle! Plus he speeks really good English.
- Tms (10/5): for the old school of Tulum - My favourite Tulum spot because its perfectly simple, out the way, wifi free with wine and italian food.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible - The rooms are very nice… but thats the only good thing that I have to say. The room is a cabin, located in the middle of a forest. Its pitch black and hard to navigate through the trails. The trails are uneven, and full of rocks and sticks. I sprained my ankle walking through that mess in the dark with the flashlight that is provided. There is no sign outside saying the name of the hotel, nor are there roads- you are driving down gravel paths to reach the hotel. The room is designed in a way that aesthetically pleasing… but the room door is made of wood, and is full of cracks, so naturally many bugs get inside. When I woke up, my husband and I were COVERED in bug bites. There is also no TV, wifi, or hot water in the room and the water has a foul smell. Would never stay here again! Terrible!
- Maria Magdalena (10/5): - Had an amazing stay with our family at Casa Mango. Beautiful place, good amenities and the friendliest service. Salma and Martha where so friendly, courteous and accommodating.
- Roberto (10/5): - Awesome experience
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the location. If you like wildlife then this is the place! Great food at the restaurant also!
- Inessa (8/5): Nice stay on the way to Coba - Nice property, if the breakfast was at least with a toast( it contained of coffe, anf fruits only) I would give the best rating. For anything extra for breakfast you have to pay. That place is for travelers with rental car.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Peaceful Jungle Setting - Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Casa Mango. Adone is a wealth of local knowledge and a wonderful His cozy hotel is very comfortable and well situated for a day trip to Valladolid or to the ruins and cenotes nearby. Casa Mango is a perfect, secluded jungle getaway - with the added bonus of a very nice Italian restaurant on site!!… hand made pasta anyone?
- HeatherB (10/5): - It's been over a year since I stayed here and I still think about this magical place. Tucked into the jungle not too far outside of Tulum. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. It truly is the unique experiences you have that makes a trip meaningful and this experience made our Mexico trip so much better. I'd HIGHLY recommend staying here. Bring pesos if you want to eat there because they have a dinner menu and make the food for you homemade. We had the gnocchi and it was delicious. Bring enough to give a big tip because they deserve it! By they I mean the lovely wife and husband. They built the beautiful cabanas themselves and have a walkway to a fenced area you can look at their farm animals. The breakfast was so delicious. Such gracious and kind hosts! The cabanas don't have AC so if that's what you're looking for, it's not here. But c'mon live a little and stay in this beautiful magical setting you won't find just anywhere!
- James (10/5): Fabulous accommodations, gracious host, remote - Beautiful facility, gracious host, lovely gourmet, Italian food. A bit remote although centrally located for many attractions. Much of how you feel about staying here will depend on what you want for location. A bit too remote for our teenagers, but a beautiful cabana, very large and comfortable. In the midst of a jungle a few blocks from the center of a very small Mexican town. Perfect for some folks and a bit too remote for others. Proprietor and family were gracious and absolutely lovely folks with wonderful gourmet skills.
- Martin (10/5): Amazing experience - Bungalows in the jungle. It's really beautiful there. I have never been to such place before and it was amazing.
The last 100 m of the access road is unpaved and a bit rough. It's in the jungle -- you might find spider or something on the wall. If you have phobia of these, might not be the best place to stay.
- Mary (10/5): Best Casa Mango - I love Casa Mango , the best service the food they cook is very tasty.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Interesting hotel in the jungle - Adone, the owner, greeted us on our arrival at 21:15, and helped us to our room, explained things, got us some beer - a nice welcome.
The hotel consists of spacious rooms, each with numerous beds that can sleep at least four people.
The rooms are actually separate, rustic villas that you get to by short jungle paths.
Adone gave great information on local cenotes.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Rustic hotel - Looks nice in pictures but the rooms are tiny with almost no room to stand or sit outside of the gigantic bed. Poor lighting, dank bathroom, and no wifi in rooms. The food in the Italian restaurant is absolutely tasteless, though the breakfast of fruit, fresh bread and coffee is great. Very friendly hosts but paid too much for this place. No wifi in rooms is unthinkable for any traveler these days.
