- Drew (10/5): - This was a motorcycle trip from TX for me and a friend. From the Covered parking, on site food and drinks, and easy, quick access to the Tail of the Dragon and so much more. This is was a perfect place to stay.

- Henry (10/5): Base Camp for the Tail of the Dragon - Rooms are spacious, clean and the complementary coffee are great! Not to mention the food at the restaurant is really good! The location itself is pretty safe since it is gated at night requiring a code that changes frequently. The near cabin parking had a steep incline but this can be fixed by parking in the main lot, also walking paths at night are not well lit.

- Anna (10/5): - Beautiful lodge and property. I was looking for something tucked in the mountains that would accomodate my dog. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Mountain cabin was clean and very comfortable. Got some.nreakfsst sandwiches in the morning, amd the biscuits were delicious. There are also miles of hiking trails on and near the property, and a gorgeous river.
- Stan (8/5): Very good - Overpriced for what it is. Outdated rooms and sink that takes forever to drain. Pictures online are misleading. These rooms are tiny.
- Helen (10/5): IDYLLIC STAY - We found the hotel quite by chance after our previous booking at Asheville was cancelled due to Hurricane Helene. We absolutely loved everything about our stay - the hotel, the location, the staff, the hot tub, the hiking trails, and the trout I had in the Tapoco Tavern was one of the best meals I have had during my time in the US. We live in the UK but will definitely recommend the lodge to our family living in Atlanta and anybody we know visiting North Carolina

The location is amazing if you ride a motorcycle, or if you like to ride Tail of the Dragon. The food was decent, and the atmosphere was of the resort was generally calming. The stay seemed overpriced (however, it was a holiday weekend). While everything was good, for the price the cabin wasn't breath-taking. The upstairs bartender didn't provide last call. The food was nice but they didn't cook a steak to the desired temperature, and the other meals seemed to be somewhat bland. The breakfast is not complementary.

Dinning options offer great food & drinks riverside or indoors in a variety of settings, including one with a cozy wine cellar atmosphere. The pizza is amazing!

- Gregory (10/5): - The Tapoco Lodge is absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing. The cabin we stayed in felt like everything was antique but somehow still new. My only complaint was that Expedia allowed me to book it as a pet-friendly room when the actual room I chose wasn’t pet-friendly. The Tapoco honored the reservation anyway and took care of us. They were terrific. My wife is already asking if we can stay here again.

- David (10/5): - Driving the Tail of the Dragon and staying at the Tapoco lodge as been on my bucket list for years. Neither disappointed. The folks at the lodge were super nice, dinner and drinks were lots of fun. The location is fantastic and the property is really enjoyable. The cabins are rustic cabins so don't expect 5 star accommodations but they're fun.

A sure nuff trout stream… fire pits and s’mores at night… cozy bar/customer lounge…great hiking trails…fast cars courtesy of the rail of the dragon… mountains everywhere

The cabin porches just need better lighting. The light cover full of bugs so little light there was, was dimmed by the light covers. Did not like the lack of light at cabin steps and entrance. Can’t get to switch before you have to navigate steps with luggage. There is an odd rise over run. No light and light rain made it pretty hard. But overall loved the experience. Just the steps/lighting situation at the cabins

I love the sound of the rushing water near by and the beauty of the NC mountains. Staff was very pleasant at check in and in the restaurant. I also like knowing that they locked the gate at a certain time for security. As a female traveling alone, safety and security is very important. Nice gift shop, also. Bathroom in the cabin could be updated. The entrance to the cabin was very dark and I had difficulty seeing the keypad to get into the cabin.
- Lorraine (4/5): Beautiful place , but food offerings need improvement - The place was beautiful. Nice setting, beautifully decorated. Comfortable room. Super friendly and attentive staff. The dinner when we arrived on the 23rd was superb. Breakfast each day was great! The food for the Christmas eve and Christmas day dinners were lackluster at best. Christmas Eve - the turkey and noodles had no taste, hardly any turkey, the green beans were heated straight out of the can. Christmas day - the ham was dryer than a slice of toast and meatloaf was the other offering. Meatloaf? For Christmas dinner?? Again canned greenbeans in the casserole. C'mon folks! This was Christmas, a special time, and many outsiders came in, withthe same reaction. and for the money that they charged for these dinners it was robbery. Obviously the chef who cooked on the 23rd was given the days off. Ok, I get that. But leave in place something nice that could have been done easily by other staff, and fresh vegtables. I worked in hospitality n our chef had off on Christmas but there was a boneless prime rib dinner ( already seasoned and just pop in the oven) roasted fresh vegtables etc. Our cook could duplicate easily. And no TV in the room., but that wasn't that much of a big deal. Sorry I hate writing reviews like this, so I hope much is learned from this experience.
- Shy (10/5): The most wonderful holiday stay for me and our families! Staff was amazing and the property is adorable! - It was perfect! Like a hallmark movie. If I watched that kind of thing, of course. The amazing staff helped us arrange for our Christmas gifts (including the shipment of an 8’ surfboard for my son). Our families met us here on our visit from South America to spend the holidays and I couldn’t have picked a better hotel. It was beautiful- just as I dreamed it would be! Not a thing!

Slightly belated this year due to inclement weather in our home town on my birthday week, but the lodge worked with us on our cancellation and we were able to come and enjoy the cabin we love just a few weeks late! We appreciate there patience! The cabin was spotless and stocked with all the needs for a traveler. We love these grounds! The lime hydrangeas are so beautiful this time of year! They assisted with reservations for dinner two of the three nights of our stay. We can’t enough about this friendly staff. Again a perfect stay with the lodge. Nothing

- Philipp (10/5): Clean and neat stay in a beautiful scenery. - I drive down this beautiful scenery road and then I see this very nice and clean building next to a river flowing down the mountain. At first I did not believe that this was where I was staying the night, but it was. The lodge was nice, cozy and clean. They have charging for electric vehicles up the mountain which is a bit of a walk back down but their staff was so nice one of them stopped and drove me up the mountain back to my car without me asking. The food tasted fantastic and even though it was somewhat busy it came out quick and hot.

Loved sleeping with the windows open to hear the water rushing. I loved the mclaren and R8 that were parked at the cabin across from us. That it’s not closer to my house.
