- Martin (8/5): - Die Lage des charmanten Hotel ist ausgezeichnet und dennoch ruhig. Das Zimmer war schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen aber durchaus zweckmäßig. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Also das Bett und die Matratzen müssten unbedingt ersetzt werden.

In French Quarter close to Esplanade making it easy to get to the river, Frenchman, Bourbon St, etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice free coffee in lobby. Bed was comfortable. Nice AC and ceiling fan made it easy to stay comfortable. Nice room layout. Had an older / historic charm to it. Ghost tours line up on the sidewalk outside every evening to discuss the hotel's haunted history. Very nice breakfast place across the street. Croissant D'Or. Much more personality and charm than the big chain hotels on Canal St. Easy to come and go anytime with the magnetic key for outer gate and room. The guests were all nice, relatively older (eg no college kids), and seemed to be regulars. The condition of the furniture was a bit worn, the toilet seat a bit loose, bathroom fixtures a bit loose. My room , 102, was on ground floor with windows facing into to courtyard. There are some tables in the courtyard right outside the window that people enjoyed making it awkward to leave blinds/curtains open in the morning. I came for Jazz Fest and they said they are closing for major renovation for several months after the JF primarily in the first floor area. I look forward to coming back to stay after the renovations.

And QUIET Old and tired. No fan in bathroom made everything feel a bit damp. Funky lamps barely worked. Not many plugs for modern gadgets

Paint peeling on ceiling, headboard on bed attached to bed using zip ties, air-conditioner sound like a plane is taking off. We paid premium rates due to the French quarter festival, so I may not have minded the poor conditions if I was paying a regular rate.

- Kim (10/5): Great stay in the heart of the French Quarter - My sisters and I wanted to stay in the French Quarter when we visited New Orleans and Hotel Villa Convento was perfect! The atmosphere of the hotel and the friendly staff made for a great vacation. The parking situation was a little difficult but with the narrow roads and the close together buildings it can't be helped. I was just happy we had covered parking available.

The parking garage off Frenchman’s was a great bonus with SUPER cute artwork! A little sad at first to hear it’s going to be remodeled starting in May, but to hear the description of the renovations I can’t wait to come back to stay once it’s done!

- James (10/5): Old world charm mixed with modernity - The property has that old world charm with the cast/wrought iron balconies seen in the French Quarter. I’m very pleased the room I got was as advertised. It had 2 balconies, one for the fire escape and the other for viewing. You look out of the latter and you can see clear across the city out into the Central Business District. The bed was large and comfy and you could leisurely watch the big screen TV while the fan’s running. It’s great to have a large room once you enter as well where you can lay out your luggage and stay organized. Being in the French Quarter too is where the action is. Mind you I stayed here just after Mardi Gras ended, but it was still an experience worth having. Nothing really stood out in my mind that detracted from my experience staying here. The bathroom fan sounds like it has had better days and some spots could use a new coat of paint, but that’s it I’m quite satisfied!

Es ist ein 200 Jahre altes Haus mit Geschichte, mitten im Frenchquarter. Die Lage ist hervorragend, dss Personal sehr freundlich. Alles funktioniert , die Zimmer sind individuell eingerichtrt. Aber es ist , nach modernem Standard, nicht komfortabel. Aber auf jeden Fall außergewöhnlich und dringend einen Aufenthalt wert Die Matratzen waren sehr durchgelegen.

- Steve (8/5): Very good, traditional accommodation in French Quarter ⁸ - The property is well-situated in the French Quarter and close to Bourbon Street. It is a nice, traditional style of building and the rooms mostly surround a central courtyard, which is a pleasant place to sit in. The receptionist was particularly helpful upon my arrival. Not much. All I can really think of is that although shampoo / shower gel was supplied at the start, the cleaner apparently failed to notice that it had run out a couple of days before the end of my stay.

- Darlene (8/5): As a New Orleanian, I knew all about this hotel, but had never suggested it to my visitors, or used for a staycation. I - The location is perfect. This is one of a handful of locally owned small hotels in the French Quarter, and it reflects that care. The check in was easy and professional. The room was fine, maybe could use some new upholstery and maybe some touch ups on the furniture, but it was pretty and very comfortable. If I had know that smokers use the courtyard, I would have requested a room away from it.

The room itself and the view from the windows are very beautiful and atmospheric. The equipment is poor. The air conditioner and the fan are very noisy (I didn’t use them), and the shower is worn out by life and time. It’s inconvenient that there is no kettle or anything similar in the room to heat water.
