The location was great. We enjoyed it all. Thank you Very un friendly women at the desk in the morning who proceeded to have a major coughing fit as we were all trying to eat breakfast. Please tell the staff to at least greet people with a simple hello or good. Morning.

- Jason (10/5): Excellent - We were called that morning and was advised that the office was closing because of the holiday and there was a envelope left with my name on it for late check in with directions to our room. She stated we needed to check in that next morning and breakfast was going to be ready at 7:30am. The lady was easy talking and very polite. My Wife and I got to the room and found a box of chocolates for our 33rd anniversary. That was the sweetest gift from the resort, made our night! Then that next morning Bruce at check in was outstanding, very pleasant and happy to be there working. our whole stay was the same everyone was happy and upbeat! That set the tone for how your day goes. Thanks and we will be staying there again. Nothing

- Jeremy (9/5): Wonderful and lovely. Donât hesitate. - The property, its location, the views. and experience were beyond our expectations. Very comfortable beds, clean rooms, very decent hot breakfast. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return. The bathrooms are a tad small and awkwardly configured. Hard to get around that given the room layouts.

- 921jensenm (10/5): Relaxing Getaway - This is our second time at Country House and it wonât be our last. Itâs just a tiny bit out off the Main Street (but still walkable via nature trail or side walk in 10 minutes) so itâs quiet and relaxing after spending a full day shopping, doing tours, and being around people.
The rooms arenât the most extravagant but they are well updated, maintained, and cozy! The views are STUNNING as it overlooks a clearing to the water. Great activities (yard games, board games, DVDs, bike and kayak rentals), the whirlpool is huge to relax in, and the pool is heated! The staff is always so friendly and helpful too! If youâre looking for a quiet getaway thatâs peaceful, close to activities, but also not right in the middle of the action this is the place to be!
- Kim (9/5): Love this property - The grounds are beautiful. The room was clean. The property is visited by turkeys, which was fun to see. The breakfast offerings had a lot of variety. The location is perfect to walk to downtown Sister Bay. The building is old, with squeaky floors. I was on the 1st floor with people above me. The floors squeaked with every footstep. Noth that the owners can do anything about that, but it was noisy at 3am when the people above me used the bathroom.
- Richard L (9/5): -
- Schopp (10/5): We enjoyed everything about it will be back next year - Everything was amazing. The people the resort was gorgeous. The food was amazing. Nothing

- 1Worldtraveler00 (10/5): Cozy, comfy resort with everything you need! - This cozy, welcoming, quaint resort has all the basics for a lovely visit to Door County! The resort is located alongside the lake in Sister Bay and has a beautiful rugged walking trail just behind the Inn, which winds along a path to the marina, beach and downtown. The walk takes about 15 minutes and is a great way to start your day each morning.
There are also kayaks, board games, tennis courts, corn hole boards, a pool and hot tub available for hotel guests.
The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfy and are well appointed with bath robes, a small refrigerator/freezer, seating area and outdoor balcony for upgraded rooms with a lake view.
A basic continental breakfast is offered in the lobby every morning with coffee and tea available throughout the day.
This family run resort is a family favorite for a reason!
Kids 12 and over are welcome.
- David (4/5): - Poorly maintained property
In need of care and renovation
- 587kf (10/5): Hidden GEM in Sister Bay - Look No Further!!! - BEAUTIFUL property! Water fountains, mature trees, grassy areas, fire table, outdoor dining patio, lake view and path down to the water. Staff was all very friendly and very helpful with anything we needed. And I mean super friendly! Hot tub was gigantic, super clean and HOT! We didnât use the pool but it looked nice and clean and was heated to 84°. There are nice bathrobes in each room to use when walking to and from the pool and hot tub which was a very nice touch and so appreciated as I walked back to the room! We were in room 410 with an excellent view of the grounds and the bay. Our king size bed was super comfy and well made with tight fitting sheets (very important đ). The room was extremely clean and well appointed. I could find nothing to even improve upon. There was plenty of lighting and at least in our room, all switches had dimmers, which was actually super useful. The AC unit kept the room at the exact temp that we set it for, but it was strangely silent. I donât think we heard it make a sound but we could feel the cool air coming out without blowing annoying wind out of it. Definitely a top notch unit and such a pleasant departure from most hotel room units. The shower had great pressure but also two shower heads available - one large rain shower and a smaller removable head. The breakfast was well stocked and similar to all hotel breakfasts with eggs, sausage or ham, a variety of breads and bagels, yogurt with Door County cherries, a meat and cheese tray (a welcome addition) and a waffle maker. They keep a cabinet in the lobby with towels and all bathroom products that you can just grab when needed, in addition to the normal option for them to service your room and replace any items you need. They also have a nice collection of DVDâs in the lobby and players in every room. I walked the path down to the water which was steep and paved and then there is a set of steps before you get to the nice dock with bench seating at the end of it. Itâs a beautiful view from the dock, so highly recommend making the trek. It would be a killer coming back up (I walked to town from there so never had to come back up the hill). The dirt path to town is about a 15 minute easy walk through the woods. There are rocks and tree roots all along the path so it is probably not a good idea for someone who isnât sure footed. The water is in view the entire time which makes it enjoyable. The resort kayak launch is on that path and the water was calm and would have been perfect for a paddle. The path seemed to end for me at the parking lot of another resort so I walked through their parking lot and ended up right at the beach area at Waterfront Park. I enjoyed my hot mocha from Happy Coffee every day of our stay in Sister Bay - it is just excellent! If you have read all of this review, you must seriously be considering this property. I will just say that we saw hundreds of other resorts, hotels and cabins while we were there but we would definitely choose Country House Resort again! Upon arrival do not be put off by the age of the buildings or the somewhat aged appearance of the decks and outdoor steps - all rooms have been renovated very recently and you will have everything you could want or need and the location is perfect!
- Thomas (9/5): - View from room was great. Room was clean and updated from our last visit 2 years ago. Staff was friendly and location was great with being off Main Street just a couple blocks.
- James (10/5): - Great staff. Great room with a wonderful view. We will definitely stay there again
- Bird (10/5): Exceeded our expectations! Wouldn't stay anywhere else. - Hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful! Breakfast was perfect; fresh and many options. Room was perfect. Very clean, great size and so nice and quiet. Everything was perfect!
- Sandra (10/5): - The grounds, gardens, fountains are so beautifully maintained. The water view as one of he best. The breakfast was so good, which we werenât expecting. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again.
- Lynn (10/5): -
- 654wendyf (10/5): Wonderful week long stay - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everyone that worked there was friendly - the resort was beautiful- and the room was very clean and comfortable. The fireplace didnât turn on, and when we called the to report it to the front desk, someone was in our room in a couple minutes to check it out and showed us how to use a switch as a workaround. They had the timer switch replaced within a couple days. We loved using the pool and spa in the first part of the week - when it was warm out.
We had a 1st floor King Suite (room 501). It had a king bedroom, a kitchenette and table for four, a living room with a gas fireplace and jacuzzi tub, and the bathroom had a spacious walk in shower and two sinks - one outside the bathroom. We had a nice balcony with four chairs and two cocktail tables - with a beautiful view of Sister Bay. We needed a first floor room (couldnât use stairs). The view from the 2 BR King Suite is likely even better! The only negative to first floor is hearing noise. Heavy steps above.
They offer a complimentary continental breakfast buffet for guests in season - which is also very nice. Thereâs a heated swimming pool and a large spa, as well.
- Laura (8/5): Very nice and comfortable. - Quiet and peaceful. A little outdated, could use some TLC
- Kathryn (10/5): - Wonderful place l. Would stay again
- Patrick (10/5): - Loved the staff and the location. If youâre fit enough to handle the hill, walking into sister bay is convenient. Will stay there again for sure.
- Malcolm (9/5): - I think breakfast could be a lot better.
- susangE4661CT (10/5): Exceptional Resort - The Country House Resort is a great place to stay. The grounds are very clean, beautifu and relaxing. Our room was very nice and clean, the bed was comfortable and we really liked the walk in shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful expecially Ben and Dillon. Many extra amenities includung breakfast which was wonderful. Everything about our stay was great looking forward to going back next summer.
- kathleenmJ4403YF (10/5): Door County wedding weekend. - Homey. We felt comfortable immediately upon arrival. We stayed in room 210, which was smaller than we are used to, but it worked out well. We had a great view. Staff, breakfast, and the pool were great as well. Other guests friendly. We would stay again. The actual lake frontage was disappointing; not as usable as i thought it would be - what the lakefront lacked, the view from our room made up for. overall, a great stay - we would return.
- mary (10/5): Would recommend to family and friends -
- Robin (10/5): Great resort - The resort was so nice. Liked that it was for adults. Our room was comfortable and clean. Loved the lush robes. The property was maintained really well. A lot of outdoor activities are available. There were games and movies available too. Things that you might have to ask for like towels, etc, were stocked in a cabinet. We had a nice water view from our balcony. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. It's in a quiet neighborhood good for taking walks. Only a couple minutes from the town center to restaurants and shops. We've booked our stay for next year I have nothing negative to say about the resort.
- Richard (10/5): Sister Bay Adventure. - The resort was in a beautiful setting with views of Green Bay. The grounds were landscaped with relaxation in mind. There were numerous activities to take advantage of along with the pool and hot tub. The location was great. Easy access to Sister Bay, Efraim, Baileyâs Harbor and Fish Creek. The staff was very friendly and couldnât do enough for us. This is a pet friendly hotel although I must say that was not an issue for us. No elevators.
- BethMagdeliene (2/5): Barking and aggressive dog. - I am giving The Country House the lowest mark for one specific reason. We were enjoying time at the pool when a dog just outside the pool are with a group of person
was barking when. person walked by. My 18 year old granddaughter is on the Autism Spectrum. A barking dog is a trigger for a condition she has called Misophonia. (look it up). I went in to the people at the front desk and told them of my granddaughter's
autism and misophonia and asked they do something about the barking dog. They did not. They said they would listen to see if it barked again. While we were in the pool,
a worker from the front desk walked up to the dog to try and pet it. The barked wildly and aggress towards her. My granddaughter was trigger by the loud barking and ran out of the pool area very upset and crying. I talked to the people at the desk again and asked what they did about it. Nothing. I talked to the owner of the dog when I saw a while later and told him of my granddaughter's autism and misophonia. He was nice about it. According to your rules regarding dogs on your premises, dogs that receive two complaints should leave The Country House. I was not told that the dog would leave the resort. I will never stay here again. There is no regard for people with mental disabilities. We have stayed here before and not encountered this. The Country House made the decision to accommodate the dog and not the person.
- Tammy (10/5): -
- Ewa (10/5): - We like the walk to town through the woods:)
Breakfast included helps!
Beds are comfy and liked having a balcony with lake view this time.
- Tom (10/5): - Good
- Chantal (8/5): Nice - No gluten free options is terrible
- Diana (10/5): Nice, clean place! Friendly staff and quiet! - Room was remodeled and nice. Grounds were kept nice and were beautiful. A lot of options to do. Stairs with heavy suitcases was difficult to get up and down. Sliding glass door vibrated and we had to leave it open/cracked so it wouldnât make noise. Ran out of cherries the last day and husband was so sad!
- Heidi (10/5): Exceptional - Felt very private, the rooms were huge and I loved the big tub! Awesome view from the room!
- Edward (10/5): It is a great vacation resort and nicely located in Door County - As you drive in to the resort, you think it looks like an older hotel. But âŚâŚ. Everything is new, completely renovated. Its really nice. Nothing
- edmondite (8/5): Pleasant experience! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - big rooms, quiet atmosphere, nice hot tub, within walking distance of downtown. Free breakfast was okay but there's Happy Coffee nearby.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meda (9/5): Superb -
- dustin (10/5): - Very clean and private
- Sheryl (10/5): The perfect place to stay in Door County! - It is quaint but updated! Flowers everywhere! Clean, great shower and bed. We loved walking down to the lake and then walking along the path to town! We played pickleball and used the pool and hot tub. We LOVED the breakfast, cookies, and the staff! We will come back! â¤ď¸
- L3593DCsusanh (10/5): First time stay at Country House - I had to search for new accommodations when my regular place closed unexpectedly. I found Country House Resort online and decided to give them a try. I loved everything about it. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable, and the grounds very beautifully kept. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We didn't try the pool and hot tub, but only because it was raining. I give Country House an excellent rating, and it is my new go to place to stay when I head north a couple times a year.
- Ryan (10/5): This was a great place to spend our honeymoon. - The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. The location was secluded and very quiet. It also provided easy access to food and other tourist spots. Nothing
- Jerald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wanaja (8/5): Very good -
- dimitra (10/5): - The property was lovely. The staff was very accommodating. This was our first visit Door County. We loved it, and plan to come again.
- NEM1234 (10/5): Country House Resort is the Best - I loved this place! All the comforts of home. I especially liked the Nature Trail that you can take into the village. Walked this every day down by the lake. The room was immaculate. 2 beds that were very comfortable, 3 televisions, even a sky light that was retractable! The loft was amazing. If you get a second story room, then you will have an awesome view of the lake. Breakfast is served every morning! They even have a pickle ball court that we played at every day. You won't be disappointed here.

- Kristin (10/5): Exceptional - Secluded site and beautiful grounds and view from the room. N/A
