Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great spot! super comfy and really nice. Probably could use an extra couple glasses etc though. Thanks for having us!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to beach access. Basic but comfortable. Thats it.
- Elaine (6/5): - Tofino is nice but I think if I returned to the area I would stay in Ucluelet where the hiking trails are located and also more restaurants and coffee houses.
- Michael (10/5): Perfect stay in Tofino. - The stay was very enjoyable with a great suite and Excellent service. Santos was very warm and welcoming making sure I had everything I needed. The location was excellent as well nestled into the West Coast Firs and Ceders but very close to the beach. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great reception. Exceptional amendities. Private. A little more info on some TV CABLE USE but overall 9. Out of 10.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Milked for every last dollar - On arrival place was completely dark with no signs or working lights. No obvious directions calling the manager got you a man who barely spoke English telling me i must go to the "lau" many times. We eventually figured out he was trying to say loft which is the name of one of the rooms. Room was very cold, like freezing cold, ice in sink and bathroom. All window were open, room was dirty and the blower on the heater was broken. Dirty carpets old pizza and chips under the couch dirty appliances were on the counters. 0/10 for first impression. Thought whatever Ill have a hot shower and deal with it, hot water didn't work, management has installed a governor on the hot water tap for the shower so it barely gets past lukewarm. REALLY NO HOT SHOWER??? None of the lighting seemed to function anywhere place was down right dangerous at night, west coast style wood decks outside in the dark, very slippery. Hot tub did work and was nice but no lighting around it all so basically unusable at night. Anyways you get the idea, if it was supposed to work it probably didn't.
Tried to call the manager back to get some of these problems fixed to no answer.
Sent and email the next day and a couple days later. I did not feel good about paying what we did for our two nights. No response to anything.
Spend your money somewhere where the people care and aren't just obviously extracting cash.
Pros awesome location, Semi secure area to leave boards, couldn't lock but better than outside.
- Jenny (8/5): Decent place to stay for a short visit. - The room that I booked was exactly what I hoped for. Great layout, very welcoming and private. The only problem we had was at check in as someone else had claimed our room before we even got there so we had to wait while they sorted it out and re cleaned it for us. The owner was great at resolving the issue right away, apologizing and even treated us to a bottle of wine for our inconvenience. Even the caretaker was great, he did an awesome job getting the room re ready for us, he really knows how to hustle! The hotel wasn't as close to the water as I'd hoped for but still in walking distance which was nice. The bbq area and garden was really nice but it was rainy so we didn't get the full use of it all. There is a hot tub outside as well but it wasn't working so we just enjoyed the in room jacuzzi. The trip for my fiance and I was to celebrate his 30th birthday and to have a mini pre wedding honeymoon, all and all mission accomplished. Thank you so much!
- Joe (8/5): Very short walk to the spectacular beach. - Check in was the only weird part. The person didn’t have a great command of English, didn’t ask for any ID, just pointed around the side of the house. I made out the words, “door’s open”. We found the door, and yes, from then on it was excellent, but arriving in the dark, and not knowing if we were in the right suite/place was awkward.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bring your own decor and toiletries - Well functioning family suite with basic amenities. There were many hooks on the wall but no art so we took the initiative to make our own out of branches and beach flotsam. The washer/ drier did not dry, possible relationship to mildewy smelling towels. But the proximity to the beach and cleanliness made up for the limitations.
- Marlene (8/5): Birthday Getaway - Great spot to walk the beach, nice hot tub and we barbecued dinner. Staff gave us a tour of our amenities and gave us directions to things of interest to us...very nice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and recommend to all, the facilities and proximity to the town of Tofino. Thanks for making our weekend amazing....kudos!
- Bethany (8/5): Awesome spot! - Great spot! My boyfriend and I weren't looking for a spot last minute and this one was the only one we could find that was under $200 for one night. It wasn't one of the best spots we stayed so far. We got a full kitchen, nice bathroom and a hot tub! Best of all it was right across from chestermans beach. Only bummer - check out was at 10:00 am. Wish it was at 11:00. Since we are not morning people in the slightest.
Will recommend and also will be returning :)
- Bob and Mo (10/5): Great Stay - Although we only stayed for 1 night, we were very impressed with condition/cleanliness and amenities of the room. We arrived early and met our host Santo and his mom. Both were very friendly and showed us to the beach which is right across the road. The Garden Room was large, had everything you could need and the bed was so comfy. Great experience, will be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very pleased to find this hôtel at the last minute - very nice suite, great situation, at this low price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great Lovation but no Air and no Window Screens - Excellent location, great owner, but two big problems, and they impact each other. First, no air conditioning, and worse, no screens on any windows. It's hot and humid, and windows have to be open, and bugs come in. Flying bugs. Air conditioners are expensive, I understand that, but no screens? Unacceptable. I booked two nights last minute, thankful to get them, but I paid big dollars and screens could be installed.
- Helen (10/5): Couples retreat - Wonderful location opposite Chesterman Beach
- Megan (10/5): Great! - It was great! Lots of room and everything we needed. It would be perfect for a longer stay, but our one night was exactly what we wanted.
- Jennifer (8/5): Spacious! - We stayed in the garden suite, which was huge. It had a whirlpool bathtub, a four-poster bed, a spacious kitchenette, a fireplace, a washer and dryer, and a private garden. The location was great (just across the street from Chesterman Beach). The only downsides were that it was very dark, it got really hot at night, and the bathtub was in the bedroom area.
- Alyssa (10/5): - This 'hotel' was great! Just across the street from the beach, had a great hot tub, and plenty of room for my friends and I. Our room had a fully equipped kitchen, an awesome bathroom, and a shared deck. There's parking right on the lot and in the front room there's space for surfboards, wetsuits to hang, and room for bikes! Overall my friends and I had an amazing time and would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Charming Studio 2 minutes from Chesterman Beach - Very comfortable and well maintained studio apartment across the road from Soth Chesterman Beach access path. Look forward to many return visits.
- Jonathan (10/5): Really nice house! - The location of the house is so close to the beach that you won't need to move your car and close to Tofino town
The room (Studio)
PROS:
- Complete kitchen (no oven)
- Washer and dryer
- TV (a lot of channels)
- The kitchen and living room are big enough for 2-3 people
- The sofa is really good!
CONS:
- There is no door between the shower and living room... there's a lower wall that separates the shower and the living room (it's fine for 2 people but not so private)
- The toilet is in a small room with a glass door
NEUTRAL:
- I liked the bed mattress because it's soft but my wife didn't like it
----
SUMARY:
- Perfect location
- The room has all you need
- You can enjoy staying in the room watching tv, reading a book or doing whatever you want
100% recommended!
