The radiators in the room did not seem to be working when we arrived and the room did feel a little chilly for the first night. However, on our last night, the problem seemed to have been rectified.

The room was stuffy and hot because we couldnt open the windows and there was no ventilation. Shower took some time working out. Extractor in the bathroom didnt wirk so it cauaed the room to turn into a sauna

The bar area was great to sit and relax with our two little Yorkshire terriers, we were made to feel very welcome there. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of hot and cold items.

- Michelle (10/5): Be looking else where next time - I love the hotel or should i say i did untill this last stay The breakfast this morning was very poor for the price for 12.50 i got next to nothing because it was not self service , also i have a mum of 76 and the rooms had no heating at night , i asked reception what time was the heating on she said it depends on room temprature , sorry but i worked in a hotel were they had thier own heating and dial on the wall if they got cold at night not every person has the same.body temprature and it blackpool it does get cold at night , i think it is not good price for a car who can charge a car for staying at the hotel 7.50 a night , and £15 a night for a dog , this stay after the 3rd time was a bit poor for me very costly in the bar also ,

- Frazer (3/5): Terrible from start to finish. - Nothing I can think of. Room smelt of stale urine coming from the shower. Had to be moved to another room which hadn’t been cleaned properly with dirty bedding, mould on the bathroom walls and a broken window which meant I was kept awake all night with the road noise. In the morning had staff walk in on me whilst I was getting in the shower for no reason I know of.

- simon (5/5): Shabby, dismal stay – put us off Best Western - Free parking This hotel is very typical of Blackpool in the worst way – a strange mix of fresh investment at the front and depressing neglect everywhere else. The reception and bar area have clearly had money spent on them and look decent enough, but once you leave that space the rest of the hotel feels run down and sad. Our room was in desperate need of updating: cracked tiles, visible mould, and a general feeling of age and lack of care rather than anything you could call “character”. It did not feel clean or comfortable. The staff added to the negative impression. When I mentioned that our room was cold and the heating wasn’t on, I was simply told that the heating for the whole place had already been turned off. It was 10c. Later, when we had a takeaway delivered and I asked at reception for some cutlery to use in our room, I was met with a passive-aggressive response about it being a restaurant and that they “don’t accept outside food” – despite the fact I am a paying resident and was taking it to my room, not into the bar or restaurant. It was an unnecessarily hostile way to speak to a guest. Breakfast only reinforced how little regard there seems to be for guests. While I was making tea, a member of staff physically squeezed in front of me with a breezy “just squeezing in” to grab what was clearly her own cuppa she’d made earlier. There was no apology, no “excuse me”, and no attempt to wait a few seconds for us to finish. It came across as rude and completely lacking in basic awareness of how to behave around guests. Overall, the stay felt dismal – a tired, shabby hotel propped up by a refurbished lobby and bar, with odd, unhelpful staff and basic comfort issues that weren’t taken seriously. I would never stay here again and, on the back of this experience, I’ll think twice before booking any Best Western in future.

Location great too. We went onto the Lake District afterwards where our room was 4x more expensive but it was very disappointing compared to the Carlton!!! N/A

Parking not included within the price. The room was clean, but paint on ceiling was chipped away, the shower curtain was moulding at the bottom.

Good selection of drinks in the bar (lovely sitting inside and outside on the terrace area), Excellent food in the restaurant - would definitely recommend eating here. 10 minute walk into Blackpool, with tram stop right outside if wanted. Beds really comfy and everything you'd want in the room (hair dryer, coffee machine etc.). Everywhere clean and tidy. Breakfast tasty too and loads of options for everyone. Will definitely be back! No plugs beside the bed in our room but plenty plugs near the kettle so not a massive problem, just means you've got to get up to knock an alarm off straight away (if you set one!) - haha!

Very spacious rooms, with seafront views Was charged over £17 for 2 pints of Guinness and a packet of crisps, Guinness was fizzy ! Returned and replace with lager, no refund on price difference - we could have asked, but would have tough it would be offered. Few Ants crawling up the window walls in bar 😞

- Sophie (7/5): Overall a wonderful stay great value for money definitely one of the best hotels would stay again. - The bathroom was clean and perfect amenities especially for my sensitive skin great choice 👌 Breakfast buffet was nice and plenty of options only gripe was marmalade, jams and nutella were only available from a jar at the toast station. Meaning everyone dipping knives or spoons in and out of it crumbs and butter inside it. Just feel there should be a more hygienic/ suitable method available.

I did not feel comfortable - The location is very good with easy access to the beach and the attractions. Unfortunately I can only describe the room that I was allocated as grotty and very very tired. Stains on the walls, chipped paint, a very unappealing shower room with mould around the shower. Very disappointing.

- Christine (9/5): Perfect hotel for a short visit to Blackpool - Friendly and helpful staff, quick check-in and comfortable room. The hotel is also very close to the seafront and well-located for easy access to the beach and town.

We also ate our evening meal in the hotel and it was good, and reasonably priced. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was good but at £150 per room, paying a further £11.50 for breakfast seemed a bit steep. Bathroom a little dated. Both rooms should have been set up as twins, however our friend’s room wasn’t but this was rectified after contacting reception. The room rate was a bit expensive for Blackpool.

They ended up leaving as they went out when they got back somebody had parked blocking the ramp therfore they decided to just leave it was middle of the night and they couldn't access their accomodation

- Louise (2/5): Terrible hotel. I would like a refund. - The bed was comfortable. The man on reception was not welcoming. The room was cramped with two bunkbeds to one side so there was no room to move aside. I made a booking for one person, not a family. The shower ran either scaldingly hot or cold. The ironing board was incredibly difficult to undo. The control lever was jammed. Once in bed I wanted to read, I wanted to turn off the main light and have a light above the bed. The only light was on the other side of the bed and you were able to turn it to direct it towards you. But as I turned it it tripped the electricity for the entire room. I then had to go down to reception in my pyjamas. A man came up in the lift with me and said - "oh that often happens in these rooms, you have to flick the trip switch". He showed me where it was and went away again. Then without me touching anything at all it tripped out again. In the morning, on checkout, I said to the man on reception (same one as day before) that it had tripped out - as I assumed it was important to know that by turning the light the electricity had tripped - but he just dismissed the concern - he said the electricity trips when bulbs go - I tried again to explain that it wasn't a bulb - but something in the light fixing. He didn't say sorry - he didn't do anything. It was rude. I would like a refund.

- Andrea (3/5): Dissapointing stay, inconsistent standards but lovely staff. - Great location. The room was very disappointing. Friends also had a superior double and their room was much bigger with a bath. Our double superior had mould on the ceiling and in the shower. I recognise it is an older hotel but when you pay the same price you expect the same standard. We ate in the restaurant on our 1st evening and the salmon and vegetables were cold, very disappointing meal, my husband had cod & chips which was hot, again inconsistent standards. The staff were lovely and friendly and couldn’t fault their helpfulness but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
