Guest Reviews
- deanna (8/5): - Great location being close to town but also in the forest. The property is well maintained, beautiful and full of wildlife, and the staff was incredibly hospitable and helpful. The room was simple but comfortable and very clean.
- Evan (10/5): Immersive Jungle Experience - This lodge isn’t for everyone, but for those whom it is well suited to it offers a wonderfully immersive rainforest experience. Our room was spacious and fairly comfortable and we felt very much like we were alone in the jungle while hotel and other amenities were very readily accessible.
My only caution is that those with mobility issues could find accessing some of the rooms very challenging due to steep walkways that must be climbed to reach some cabins. There are several on the same level as the lobby/reception area, so if you aren’t comfortable with a pretty tough climb on sketchy sidewalks, in the dark, be sure to specify that. If you are able and a bit more intrepid, definitely go for the “full jungle experience”!
All my attached photos were taken on the lodge grounds
- candice (10/5): - Manfred made checking in easy and not a hassle what so ever. The rooms had a vibe of their own and the shower actually had some good pressure. You can hear howler monkeys both morning and night and feel submerged in the jungle
- Sunshine (10/5): - Amazing Stay at a True Costa Rican Paradise!
I had the most incredible experience at this lodge! From the moment we arrived, the warm and attentive service made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and authentically Costa Rican. Every meal was a highlight!
But the best part? Waking up to wild animals just steps outside our room. We spotted playful monkeys hanging out nearby. It was like staying in the heart of the rainforest!
If you’re looking for a unique, immersive getaway with fantastic food and jungle food, this lodge is a must. I can’t wait to come back!
Note: Our room did not have a TV or AC.
- Ankit (10/5): - I had a great time here- the views and the cabin did not disappoint. We heard howler monkeys, and saw a few animals and variety of birds. The room was comfy and reception was very helpful explaining/planning the activities. Would stay again.
- Ardavan (8/5): - great place
- Luanne (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much. The highlight was that the cabin was surrounded by nature and we felt like we were secluded in the jungle. We heard the howler monkeys at night and were delighted by many Coati foraging in the forest right in front of our cabin. There were even probably 20 baby ones! The Agoutis were also a delight. Breakfast at the Ficus hotel was excellent. The hotel was walkable to downtown.
- Leah (10/5): - This was a lovely hotel that allowed us to submerge ourselves in the rainforest. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from our porch. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and happy hour was a hit. The staff were friendly and very helpful when needed. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next trip to Monteverde.
- Stephen (6/5): Great setting and service, but run-down facility - Jaguarundi resembles staying at a summer camp--beautiful setting, but the facility is run-down and not well maintained. The hotel is set in the woods and there is a 1 km hiking trail where I saw coatis, agoutis, and several colorful birds. But the room charm ends with the wood paneling in the rooms--there was no heat or extra blankets in my room, the toilets didn't flush well, the showers ran out of hot water easily, and the light fixtures were rusted. The property is extremely hilly and, if you're not in the main lodge, is difficult to navigate if you're unfit or have heavy bags.
The service was GREAT! Manfred was a huge help in terms of explaining the facility and helping me plan activities while I was in Monteverde.
The property isn't worth what they charge per night, but if you're looking for a summer camp vibe in Monteverde for a couple of nights with really good service, this place works.
- Andrew (10/5): - The greatest. Nicest staff, remote location with walking trails yet easily walkable to the center of Monteverde (which is a cool little mountain town). Getting there earns you triple traveler points.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Friendly staff. Lovely grounds around the bungalows
- Oscar (8/5): - Everything was very good
- Anna (10/5): - This property was right in the trees/jungle and we saw Howler monkeys, Capuchin monkeys, and Quatimundi right from our front porch. That was magical. It was noisy at night at times because of the wildlife, but still worth it. The place was clean, nice, and the people very helpful.
- brian (10/5): - Restaurn not on property
- Christian (10/5): Schöne ruhige Anlage in Santa Elena - War alles bestens, auch kleiner Trail durch den Garten, Frühstück sehr gut rund 10 Minuten Fußweg im Hotel oberhalb
Ruhige Anlage
- Kara (10/5): - The room is clean and dark so good for sleeping. The walls are a bit thin if you are super sensitive to noise. You have to walk awhile for breakfast (but you could drive), so if you have an elderly person, it could be a bit of a walk! But the breakfast is pretty nice and the view is really nice. This is right in town. There’s a fun bridge to walk to for going to some of the rooms and nature is all around—you might see monkeys or toucans if you get up on the earlier side. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. You will want to be friends with them!
- Stephen (10/5): - Nice cabin-style rooms in dense foliage, yet within a few blocks walking distance to: an excellent restaurant and craft cocktail bar (Natu Speakeasy), a fun leafy sportsbar with live entertainment (Tree House), and delicious coffee, sandwiches and pastries (at Zuccaro). The hotel bar, restaurant and breakfast area were also terrific.
Special thanks to front desk receptionist Manfred who was so helpful in sharing ideas to explore that beautiful area.
Definitely plan to return.
- Robert (10/5): - A property in a wooded area. Be aware there is no AC.
- Armand (8/5): - The setting is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. The room was in a beautiful jungle setting. The bed was not so good- I could feel the springs. There was no heat in the room. I found blankets for the second night. Breakfast was okay but not as good as other places I have stayed in CR
- Robert (10/5): - Nothing fancy but clean, safe and private. We enjoyed our stay.
- Derek (2/5): - Jaguarundi was a real disappointment on our trip. We had booked a superior cabin at an expensive rate. The cabin was basic and unclean with dirt on the walls and in the bathroom. The mattresses were poor quality and were dirty, as was the bed linen. There were also dangerous concrete paths to get to the cabins which were steep and slippy. The one & only redeeming factor about this place is its location next to Santa Elena. I would not recommend this as a place to stay.
- Shannon (10/5): - We checked in on the last afternoon. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by howler monkeys in the parking lot! Just hanging out above the cars, in the trees. It was a very cool sight.
The reception clerk was very friendly and informative about the property and things to do in the area. Including walking the hotels wilderness trail that's right on the property. We took advantage of this right before sunset. It's beautiful. Only about 1 mile of trail, but full of trees, rustic paths and were told, animals. We didn't see any at this time.
We dinner at the Ficus Hotel which is connected to the grounds here. It was a beautiful setting. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. My steak was not cooked well and very tough to eat, so i did not. I asked for it to be cooked more and it was returned to me the same. Quite raw. But we would try the place again, just not having the steak. You need a reservation, so ask the reception clerk to set this up for you.
The cabin is quite peaceful. It feels as is you're staying in a jungle! The wildlife sounds all around you. When it trains, it's a lovely, calming sound. We slept well here.
It is near to all of the nightlife and shopping in the area. Walk to everything. We recommend this place.
- Troy (10/5): Jungle - Very cool little spot. Convenient location to walk to restaurants and shops.
- Tejal (8/5): - In middle of town so easy to get around, hotel felt like staying in rain forest was very authentic experience
- zbigniew (10/5): - Quiet, lots of nature. Friendly, professional, helpful staff. Excellent service.
- RON (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay it was like you were in the jungle.
- James (10/5): - Is a good place to stay as long as you are willing to accept it isn’t a Marriott with ac and such. I liked our stay
- Yanick (10/5): Jungle nature immersion - Perfect place in the forest. Feels very nature everywhere you walk. Nice path to go breakfast up the hill. So relaxing. Bathroom a bit outdated but clean overall.
- Alexia (10/5): - Great location, breakfast and staff. Loved being surrounded by nature but centrally located.
- Beau (10/5): Loved it! - Simply Amazing
- Noeleen (8/5): - It was quiet friendly and really walkable, older and very basic rooms but clean .
- Jodie (10/5): - This is a very wonderful property. On our first morning there, we woke to the sounds of the howler monkeys! I saw a few on the property. We saw lots of wildlife, which is what we had been hoping for. The trails are beautiful. It felt very safe and the staff was wonderful. There is an easy walk to town for restuarants and shopping. This property was absolutely amazing!
- Susan (10/5): In town jungle lodge - We loved the lodge but there was no initial information about the lack of a restaurant on the property. They referred us to the lodge on the adjoining property and it was okay, but quite a ways up the hill (walking, dark at night). Although the lodge is "in town", it was quiet and easy to get to. Looking out from our porch, it did feel and look like we were in the jungle.
- Silvia (6/5): - The property itself was beautiful and the service was awesome. The rooms themselves are quite humid so all of the bedding was damp. Also we shared a building with another room and the walls are extremely thin. You can hear everything your neighbor is doing at all hours of the day. Also, if one room runs hot water, it limits the hot water in the other room (cold night time showers). The restaurant is also not on the grounds, it is at the hotel at the top of the property which for the hike, the food was ok. The grounds themselves are pretty and have their own hiking trail but overall experience this was not fully as advertised.
- Whitney (10/5): - We loved this hotel! I was apprehensive after reading a few of the reviews, but after staying here, I couldn’t be happier to report this is the place to stay! Quaint rustic cabins, tucked in the jungle with monkeys, coati, agouti & motmots right outside your door. If you’re planning a stay in Monteverde, you won’t be disappointed with Jaguarundi!
- CHLOE (8/5): Amazing place - Amazing place right near the centre of Santa elena but also out the way. Bit annoying that breakfast was a 5 minute walk up hill. Saw agouti from our room. Suspension bridge is fun. Staff very friendly
- anjali (6/5): Beautiful stay! - The location of the hotel is very nice. Everything is quite walkable distance from the room. The whole ambience of the hotel is amazing. Felt like living in the jungle. Absolutely brilliant and soothing. The room was quiet spacious however the bathroom was a bit small. Overall an amazing stay!
- Thanakorn (10/5): Not bad - Nice room with cabin feeling. If you have lots of luggage you will need help getting up the hill to your room. Hot water doesn’t last long in the shower. Free breakfast and close to town.
- Thejaswi (10/5): - If you like to stay in a well equipped lodge this is it. The room had large windows which overlooked the greenery and vegetation outside. No ac and tv. So you could hear every sound from the surrounding trees. Very good experience and best breakfast buffet.
- Connor (10/5): - I loved how it was in the middle of the jungle in nature.
- Zainab (8/5): - I thought the property was wonderful - if you like to camp and stay in a cottage. There was no AC, but the staff provided us with a fan when we asked. Quite honestly we did not need the fan as it got quite chilly at night.
I would say though that this property is not accessible at all. There is a lot of steep walking and stairs. We had to carry our luggage quite far and it got heavy at one point. If you have any knee/ back pain, I would not suggest this place. Otherwise, it is perfect the able-bodied individuals.
There are howler monkeys and a lot of animals in the trees- they make scary sounds but are mostly harmless!
- Julia (10/5): - Very liked the experience there. Good environment and good food and affordable price.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Beautiful property tucked into the jungle. There was plenty of wildlife in and around the property at all times of the day. Would stay here again.
- Linda (8/5): - Beautiful property in a great location. I knew the walls were thin from other reviews and it was true. Room VERY basic. 2 beds, one side table....
No chairs, no lamps. Only a ceiling light which does not offer enough light...definitely not for reading. Temp was 62 and there is no heat..and that might be off putting for some
- Joanna (10/5): - Very nice property in the jungle. Room was spacious and very clean. Wifi worked fine. No A/C but this is not a big issue. Breakfast was delicious. Staff very helpful. The only problem for me was lack of hairdryers- there is one for the whole property and I wasn’t able to get it during my whole stay. Definitely recommend!
- H C (8/5): Enjoyable stay - This was a last minute booking after a late change of plan. However we were very happy with our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location excellent for walking to restaurants. We stayed in a superior cabin, which was spacious. The bathroom needed updating and there was a musty smell, but it is surrounded by damp jungle, so I guess that’s what you have to expect!
- David (10/5): - The Jaguarund is the perfect jungle lodge nestled in the forest next to town. There is a lot of wildlife and trails you can hike on site. Ana and Menado were very helpful and nice. The breakfast is delicious, especially the home made marmalade. It's hard to beat this place for a mix of jungle and convenience! I’ll definitely be back
- Bradley (6/5): - This place was OK a bit noisy because we heard motorbikes all night which kind of ruined the jungle experience I wouldn’t stay here again I’ll try and get something a little bit more quieter
- Olivier (8/5): Séjour en famille - Les chambres ont du charme, tout en bois. Petit déjeuner très bien, personnel charmant
Seul inconvénient les cloisons entre les chambres sont très minces.. Ennuyeux si les voisins sont bruyants
- Jennifer (8/5): - Gorgeous setting. Rustic rooms are very basic. Breakfast & service lovely. VERY convenient just next to town.
- Vanessa (6/5): - Visiting Monteverde we knew it was going to be a bit colder, darker, rainier. However, when booking hotels - everything was so expensive. We settled on this hotel. The location is great, right in the forest and you feel like you are quite isolated in your own nature reserve which is awesome! However our room was very damp and smelt of mould (and had mould on the clothes hangers). The rooms and decor are very dark (dark wood, 70s patterns on the bedding and curtains) so all together it just felt very drab. They could benefit from a few upgrades/brightening up (neutral colours) and better ventilation to truly make this hotel amazing. Staff were excellent though and very helpful! Downside if you are staying in one of the cabins is that you do have to trek quite a bit with your luggage to get to the room and parking near the cabins is minimal. If you have mobility issues I would recommend staying in one of the main building rooms or requesting a cabin closer to the restaurant.
- Mary (10/5): - Wonderful staff accommodating great location mini animals and birds right off your balcony
- Catherine (8/5): - Before you book this property please note that some of the cabins require walking up steep, stony sidewalks. Getting my suitcase up to my cabin was challenging. Staff did not offer to help porter our luggage, but then again there was just one girl at the counter when we checked in. Otherwise our room was spotless with a nice hot shower and decent WiFi despite the fact that it is advertised as only being available in common areas. There is no a/c or heat. We weren’t uncomfortable but it would have been nice to remove some of the humidity. Breakfast is included and delicious. It was nice being in jungle just up the hill from the main road. Walls are very thin. If possible ask them for a unit which has an empty unit next door. Smokers need to walk downhill off the property to smoke. Lovely stay overall for two nights
- Justin (10/5): - We saw monkeys!!! And a Jaguarandi!! This was the best hotel we stayed at.
- Diana (10/5): Excellent - I stayed here in the rustic cabins with my two teenage sons. Yes, as others say you can hear everything your neighbors say. The pillows are flat and there is a musty smell in the rooms. But, you feel like you’re in the jungle in the middle of town. It’s a 2 min walk. The breakfast is excellent, the staff are wonderful. You can walk on the grounds or enjoy the hanging bridge. I would definitely stay here again.
- Zachary (10/5): - Secluded though close to town. Breakfast was good. People were great.
- Ed (10/5): - I really like the cleanliness of the property.
- KERRY (10/5): - Exceeded our expectations. Lovely stay.
- James (8/5): - I loved it, the grounds were beautiful and exactly what we expected. Everyone was super accommodating and super nice.
- Celena Ellen (8/5): - We loved our days in the treehouse. The staff and your guides were the best.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful location in the middle of the mountains. Restaurants and activities are a short walking distance. And the staff are great, they help you with anything you need! Definitely recommended!
- Jerald (8/5): Great place to stay. - I would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff is so friendly and helpful, breakfast is free and you go to sleep and wake up in the jungle!!! I read a couple reviews that said the walls are thin, that you can hear other guest, birds, rain etc and it’s true but honestly who cares you’re sleeping in the jungle. The pay off is well worth it to me. I saw monkeys and agoutis, huge butterflies, amazing colorful birds including giant toucans and so many hummingbirds. The accommodations are simple but again, the location is unbeatable and if you have a good attitude the place will love you back. The shower was hot, the bed was comfortable. It is everything you need. The staff were such a joy, I can’t emphasize that enough. They helped me arrange shuttles and were patient with my lack of proficiency in Spanish. Also great location to town. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and would definitely come back! Thank you Jaguarundi!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was ok
- Jacqueline (6/5): - Great location let down by the service. We arrived and the reception area was closed, there was no information whatsoever on how we could get hold of anyone. I called the hotel number several times and eventually someone answered and asked us to collect the key from the hotel next door. Only it wasn't next door.
After wandering around for over 30 minutes they eventually sent someone to come and check us in. This is not what I expect when I book a hotel, I was very disappointed.
The accommodation itself was great, I loved the location, the set up and the layout. Shame about the service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the staff was very accommodating. As we could not reach expedia to change our scheduled stay, we managed it through the staff. First they asked to follow the Expedia rule but once we realized it wasn't going to work, they took it upon themselves to arrange our schedule, which was much appreciated.
It was very nice to see some wildlife within the lodge coumpund: monkeys, agoutis...
- Tyler (6/5): Great price and location! - Pros:
Cool location in the jungle
Close to everything in town
Spacious rooms
Service/staff helpful
Free breakfast
Wifi was decent
Free parking
Great price
Cons:
Very big con. SUPER noisy. Walls are paper thin and since it’s in the jungle random object drop on the roof all day and night and the roof is tin.
- Fireball (8/5): - Reception staff great, but breakfast staff not great. Beautiful facility, but paper thin walls and loud.
- Tracy (8/5): - Loved it's closeness to the center of Santa Elena BUT that you are literally right in the middle of the forest, was amazing. My only complaint was while the staff was friendly and wanted to help you all the service was extremely slow. Property should be described as very steep so that elderly people know not to book there or book rooms only close to reception
- haim (10/5): - very good location, very nice place and service
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location and good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Rooms are basically thin wooden cabins.
Very noisy as may as well be under canvas tents.
No ventilation in shower so whole cabin is condensed and damp.
Rooms are a good size. Ok to stay one or two nights but no more.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Definitely in the jungle and close to nature. We had monkeys come right up on our balcony. No safe in the room, and no air conditioning which would of been nice just to cut the humidity.
- Robert (10/5): Jaguarundi - Great place. Close to bus stop and little town. Staff was so nice and informative. Rooms in the jungle but very close to reception desk area. Breakfast was great as we didn’t know it was included. They are great about are arranging tours for us.
- R Hywel (6/5): hit & miss - The room wasn’t ready until 2:40pm had to wait around reception until the room was seen by a supervisor.
We arrived to the hotel at 11:20 not expecting to get a room straight away.
However the staff were lovely.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Out of the main stream. The duplex cabins are a little noisy. The neighbors walking around is loud on the wood floors. The setting is nice, back off the street in a wooded setting. The wood has a slight smell that is a little off putting.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great stay - Large rooms and although little tired it was adequate. The Wi-Fi in the room was not very good as we were the furthest bungalow away from reception. The breakfast was good in another hotel just around the corner . Grounded were lovely and you could walk to the main centre.
- Peter (6/5): Monteverde get-away - The lodges are pretty rustic and very few amenities for the price that you pay. Breakfast is included at a cooperating hotel a short walk from the lodge and is very good. The grounds are beautiful and are a nice retreat from the city centre.
- Marisa (8/5): Wonderful Breakfast - The shower did not heat all the time. Once I had to take a shower cold.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Jaguarundi Lodge - Stay was very enjoyable.
- John (8/5): Nice place , central but in a pocket of forest. - Very central but surrounded by trees. Saw various birds and an armadillos. Breakfast was at Ficus hotel just slightly further uphill on same path. Seems to be the same owners. Nice breakfast there. Fridge and coffee maker in the room. Hot water good. No complaints.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location. Check-in took over an hour. Sink drained the water onto the bathroom floor. Walked in puddles my entire stay.
- Shane (10/5): Beautiful stay with Beautiful people! - If you can imagine having the cloud forest right outside your door before you even take a shuttle to visit it - this is the spot to be. The hotel staff were so friendly, absolutely helpful, and made sure all of our questions were answered so the trip was planned just as we'd hoped. The room was spacious, the beds comfy, and the view - incredible. Thank you!
- Samuel (10/5): - Very nice hidden lodge near town but away from traffic noise. Fairly basic but good value
- Verified traveler (10/5): Listed as free breakfast, but got charged. - Nice place, would go there again. A bit of green in the city. I like the porch space for sitting with a morning coffee.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful and cozy - We loved it here! Surrounded by jungle and so peaceful. Only a few minutes walk to town centre. Great for families. Only complaint would be the ceiling fan did not work and the power outlet did not work in the loft. They do need to do some renovations as the carpets are worn and dirty and the bathroom needs work.
- Emilee (10/5): - My boyfriend and I decided to stay at Jaguarundi Lodge for our first trip to Costa Rica and we both agree that it was the best place we could have stayed. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing answers to all of our questions. not to mention the location is perfect as it is right in beautiful Santa Elena but also you will be placed in a cabin literally in the jungle. The views are breathtaking and they provide you with everything you need to feel comfortable traveling. If you are debating whether or not to stay here I encourage you not to hesitate. Book it! You will not regret it
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great bird watching from our deck. - Windy town made cabin creak but our bunk was clean and cute in the jungle
- Sandri (10/5): Beautiful Basic Hotel - I loved the hotel. We stayed for 4 nights, Raquel at reception was great, very helpful and profesional. Location was fantastic, close to city center and bus terminal. Very quite place where in the evening you can hear the evening nature. Basic cabins, which made a better experience, no tv, radio or hairdryer, no foreign noises. Would go back anytime.
- Brenda (8/5): Great location and beautiful grounds - Very nice cabins right in the jungle. Very close to town, well kept and very nice service. Our cabin was up a pretty steep climb, so I would not suggest for the elderly or unfit unless you specifically ask for a cabin near the office.
- Michael (6/5): Old property feels like 80's. - Feels like a motel from the 80's before hiltons and marriotts brought the standards up around the world. Ugly old furniture, amenities you don't want to touch, uncomfortable beds and pillows. The building itself feels a cardboard house - moderate wind makes the sound of a tornado inside the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place if you love the jungle - Really cool place away from town. In the jungle with trails, a stream, and plenty of wildlife. The owner was a cool guy and the room was nice too. Don’t let the road scare you, it’s not too bad.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful Setting - Absolutely beautiful setting very close to downtown and the bus stop. They served a wonderful breakfast every morning. Everyone was polite and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pretty hotel - unreliable hot water - The site was very pretty and the lodging was clean. However, the hot water cycled on and off about every 30 seconds
- Taylor (6/5): Quaint rooms, no wifi connection - Nice location, away from the main strip but still within walking distance. The first room we got was two separate beds for my girlfriend and I but was very close to the reception- meaning good wifi. We asked about getting a double bed and the receptionist had one for us. However this one had many bugs in the bathroom and no wifi connection. It was also quite a hike from the reception area. It was difficult to sleep, seeing the amount of bugs come into the room at night. However, it is to be expected as you are right in the cloud forest. The breakfast was good though and don't get me wrong- the rooms are very nice and cottage-like. Just too many bugs for my liking.
- Emma (10/5): Amazing! - Would definitely stay again! Located near downtown but hidden away in the forest. The perfect location! Cabins are beautiful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fabulous place to stay - right in the jungle, but also a few minutes walk from town. It has a great atmosphere - very natural & relaxiing. Staff are friendly & very helpful - with advice, bookings etc. Not 'luxury' in a conventional sense, but in terms of enjoyment, yes. Highly recommended
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location & value for money - Good location in Monteverde but the cabins are also set in a forest type location which is nice. I saw an armadillo right outside our room. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and a nice breakfast is served. There is free wifi in the main building but not in the rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our one night stay and would return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): In town, but nicely secluded - Enjoyed the spread out cottages, and appreciated the proximity to town center since we had no vehicle. Clean. Helpful staff. Fine breakfast. Horrible coffee! (but who's complaining?).
- Lois (10/5): Nice cabins in the tropical rain forest. - This was a little bit of a "roughing it" experience. The shower wasn't the greatest but there was hot water. All hotels don't have hot water so that was wonderful. We encountered a couple spiders but the cabins are really in the forest so what can you expect? The food was very good. The coffee was very good. The beds were comfortable. The cabin was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. We could sit in the dining room & watch the birds in the forest. Overall it was a very nice experience. Much better than staying in an "Americanized" hotel. I would go again.
