- TAMELA (10/5): - Always enjoy my stay. The property isn’t fancy or upscale, and it could use some upgrades, but it could be a whole lot worse. However, the staff has always been very nice to me and my family when we come into town. If there’s an issue, the staff member always tries, accommodate our needs. basically it does what we need it to do for the few days in town. Love and appreciate the hospitality!

- Erin (2/5): - We felt very unsafe here. Lots of traffic in and out of the hotel, people only staying for small amounts of time. Our inside deadbolt did not latch leaving our door easily opening if someone really wanted in. Also upon arriving we found the pool has been closed for 5 years as the owner said it has been shut down since COVID. Also the gate to the pool was not locked so people were still able to go near the half filled half covered pool.

The place is quiet, Most cheep motels make you feel uneasy but here i felt safe!! Some of the reviews on google said there was bugs and the rooms were dirty but from my experience thats not true !!! I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐

But then we saw the spider webs with critters in it in the ceiling, and the sink would not drain; my husband fixed it. Worse than that, we had an influx of flies the next morning when no door was opened. That was pretty scary. Luckily, we were getting ready to leave.

- Ken (2/5): - Bring you some fly spray, bug spray, and a broom. The first one they gave me had flies all over the floor and hair and the bed. The second one was not so bad; it only had a couple of dead crickets crickets in it. The only thing that made me give customer service a three was the lady who checked me in and was so polite and friendly. But her manager was rude and told me that there were flies everywhere when I told them there were dead flies all over the room.

We bring everything to clean the room except a broom and mop. We also bring our own linen and spray the mattress down with Lysol. The motel needs a VERY thorough cleaning, new fixtures and decor.

- Andre (4/5): The Right To Review - When first checked in, the man at the desk was very friendly and professional. After about a few hours later, i get an email about how was my check-in/stay. It ask what was good about the check-in, i mentioned the staff. Then it ask something like how could management make my stay any better. I don't remember how exactly it was worded but, one option said something about either horrible or terrible beds. Now what i said was the beds weren't horrible or terrible,but they could've been better, and i going back to what can they do to make my stay better I said more blankets and sheets. So about an hour or passed and i called the front desk to see about the extra bedding. The man on the phone confronted me about my review, which not sure they can and or should do,but he did. I told him that i had a right to leave a review and he told me that i didn't and he wouldn't be giving me any extra bedding as well. In my opinion it was very unprofessional of him to confront me about my review. Had it not been so late in the evening and after traveling for 6hrs, we would've found somewhere else to stay, because my family did not feel comfortable staying after that exchange. For years we have gone to St. Augustine for family affairs, etc.. and stayed at this Inn but unfortunately that was our last stay ever!

- Verified traveler (2/5): Beware! - The hotel is old and outdated. My wife and I saw a dead roach in our room when we arrived. Also, that night we saw 2 roaches crawling on the floor of our room. It was so nasty! Also, the bathroom shower had mold and mildew. The hotel was dirty. Needless to say, we will not visit here again.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was clean and well-lit. The room was clean with basic amenities. I had no luck getting a Wi-Fi connection, which is not uncommon for me but not a big issue either. Coffee in the lobby was ready at 6am. Not bad for the price.
- Ray (10/5): Fishing adventure. - Staff was wonderful, room had smoke smell, mechanic grease on bathroom door and door trim that rubbed off on my shirt. Carpet should be replaced. Manager was very nice and considerate, friendly as well. Look forward on staying there in the future.

The floors have laminate flooring, which was much nicer than carpet. No one cleaned the rooms unless you wanted them to. You could put your trash outside of the door and pick up fresh towels at the front desk each day to avoid coming into contact with anyone, which was great during this pandemic. The staff was very nice and friendly, although not wearing masks.

- richardaX4788DN (8/5): Very Comfortable motel - I had a nice stay at the San Augustine Inn. It was comfortable, rooms were clean and the rates were very attractive. Still suffering rom the recent Tornado so the pool is not back up and running when I was there 6/2019 but if you decide to go here you can call in advance to see if it has been repaired.

A tornado struck the town, on Wendsday before my stay on the following Sunday. The tornado passed right behind the hotel doing damage and knocking out all power. No one advised me in advance of my trip, and the motel was closed when I arrived. I had to get a hotel in Center, Texas nearby.

- laquitag2017 (2/5): Bed Bugs and Horrible Attitude - Let's face it there are only two hotels in San Augustine or you have to drive to Nacogdoches or Lufkin but before I stay at this hotel again I'll sleep in my car. One night, rude general manager, and bed bug bites. Not only did the man refuse to give me a refund, he accused me of lying and suggested my doctor misdiagnosed me. I am a diabetic so bites, soars, and injuries in general are not ideal. Regardless of my physical condition this man should NOT be in the business of customer service.
- euyma (6/5): Week in San Augustine - This property is probably on its 4th or 5th Flag. Very old, 60s style. Furniture dated. Room was clean and quiet. If you just need a bed and shower for a 4 night business trip, this place works! A highway construction crew made up the guest list this week.
- Freewolf297 (8/5): Basic hotel but very clean and good value - The staff at check-in was helpful and friendly. The room is very basic but it was cleaned well. At the price it is a very good value. We will stay here again when we come to San Augustine. Coffee is available in the lobby and was fresh. Only a few choices for breakfast in town but there is a good bbq place about a block away.

A good bed, a good shower, plenty of outlets, wifi, a refrigerator, a microwave, a desk with a good lamp--all I needed for a good night's stay.
- 864harrya (8/5): Reliable clean comfortable hotel - I've been staying at the San Augustine Inn one a month because of business in the area for over 10 years. The San Augustine Inn is an older motel and been complete remodeled. The Inn has about 60 rooms, 2 story w/ outside entrance to the rooms. It is located near the intersection of two large roads and during the day traffic can be noisy. My room was on the east side, first floor and was surprisingly quiet at night. The room was large w/ king bed, desk/table and chair, dresser, and recliner. The TV was older style but has a reasonable number of channels. Internet was free and worked well. The bed was very comfortable. The bath was clean with an outside dressing table. Shower has plenty of hot water and a lot of water pressure. Microwave and small frig. I found the Inn reasonably priced, quiet, and clean. I look forward to staying there whenever I am in San Augustine.
- MichaelD366 (2/5): Disgusting - Carpet looks and smells like my room was used as a kennel. Big smelly spots everywhere. A simple cleaning would be a big improvement. This is probably the best hotel in town. I would strongly suggest that you stay in another town.

The Inn has about 60 rooms, 2 story w/ outside entrance to the rooms. It is located at the intersection of two large roads and during the day is pretty noisy. My room was on the west side, first floor and was surprisingly quiet at night. The room was large w/ king bed, small round table and 2 chairs, long dresser/desk combo w/small chair. The TV was older style but worked OK w/ reasonable number of channels. Internet was free and worked OK. The bed was firm but comfortable. The bath was large [handicapped size] and clean with an outside dressing table. Shower was OK with plenty of hot water. Microwave and small frig, but no hair-dryer or iron. I found the Inn reasonably priced, quiet, and clean and look forward to staying there when the remodeling is finished.
- LisaDeeBee (6/5): Not many choices - Upon check in, the girl behind the desk was friendly. She gave me my room key and we gathered our luggage and headed to our room only to find it was still being cleaned. The cleaning girl did not speak any English and when she finished cleaning, just walked out without letting us that the room was ready (we were standing right next to the door). No acknowledgement whatsoever. She didn't have her cleaning cart with her and she just walked down and went into another room. We took our things into the room and noticed no remote for the TV. I returned to the front desk and the girl said the cleaning lady has the remote. I hunted down the cleaning girl and said "Do you have the remote?" and motioned like I was using a remote control. She just stared at me and shook her head. Fortunately, a gentleman (I assume the owner) was walking by and he yelled out that he would get it, which he did. Everything in the main room was nice. Comfy bed, clean carpet....it was a thumbs up. But the bathroom was a different story. The door was misaligned and would not close at all! Paint was chipped off most of the doorway, bad grout job (sort of unpleasant too look at when you are doing your business~) and the toilet seat was very loose. We checked out the next day and about 15 miles down the road my husband realized he had forgotten something in the room. I called the front desk and she said to come back and get it, that she would make sure the maid did not enter until we returned. This was a different lady and was very nice as well. Since there is only one other motel in the San Augustine area, I suppose this room wasn't too bad. My main thing is that the bed is clean and comfy and ours was. Aside from the yucky bathroom and a maid who didn't speak English when we needed assistance, this isn't too bad of a place to stay. Saying that.....they do charge WAY too much for the very few amenities provided. No coffee in the room and no "Free High Speed Internet" in the room (as advertised). There is a Mexican food restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The food was decent and they did offer "Free Margaritas", which was great! We ate breakfast down the road a bit at Mary Kay's Diner. It to was decent. Very nice waitstaff.
- A_Govt_Worker (2/5): Small-town hotel with multiple personality - Rooms are large but the beds aren't that great and the towels and linens are worn. Rooms have compact refrigerator and microwave but no coffee pot, hair dryer, or alarm clock. Hotel has a couple of coke machines but no ice machine. (Ice can be obtained from an Igloo in the office but the office is only open until 10 PM) There is a Mexican food restaurant next to the hotel but the restaurant but it isn't open for breakfast. In retrospect, we should have stayed at the Best Western in Center, which is only 21 miles away and then commuted to the job.
