Guest Reviews

- Vilma (10/5): Amazing stay! - The front desk personnel were soooo nice and helpful. They went out of their way to help us. I got a massage from Angie at their spa, it was amazing. Highly recommend!
- Liu (4/5): Tons of noise - The location is close to the bus station.
Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is good. Too noisy from running river and train passing . No enough electricity outlet in room. Smells bad of old aged buildings.
We were told it was over booked when we arrived in the evening, and have to walk to another hotel without any compensation.
- Liu (5/5): Noisy place - Breakfast. Location. Too noisy on both sides of the building. One is from running river, another is from train close to the hotel.
- Bernadette (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room. I love it!!
- Donna (9/5): Fantastic front desk and flexible check out! - The best part was the front desk guy who was so flexible abt giving us a late check out so we could go up to Machu Picchu midday. He also gave us a late breakfast time which we didn’t end up needing and he most importantly knew a lil spa closeby where all 4 of us got the longest hour massages that felt amazing for $30US. We truly were grateful for the excellent service. The only issue was it was noisy facing the street on 6th floor so I would ask for an inside room on lower floor. Our boys slept right through that tho 👍🏽
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniela (10/5): We enjoyed staying at the Hatun Inti and would highly recommend it to others. - Location, friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Lovely decore and very comfortable. Nothing. Everything was great!
- Ignacio (7/5): Good -
- Jon S. (10/5): Very nice property and extremely helpful staff. - Located near the hot springs and uphill from the train.
- Chandler (8/5): Customer service amazing - Great location & staff. Clean rooms. Comfy pillows. Great customer service, picked up bags at train station for us! Can be a little loud at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice rooms, great view from breakfast room with nice continental buffer
- Steven (8/5): Gets You Off and Hiking - This hotel is an easy walk from the train station and will provide provide you with a good venue for your hike or bus trip to Machu Picchu. The staff are super helpful and one of the best features is that they will meet you at the train station with your luggage for departure!
- NYLA (8/5): - This was a very nice modern and centrally located hotel. The staff was great. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was pretty small but it had a nice shower and sink area. Instead of bottles of soap, they have prefilled bottles of liquid soap/gel that are hanging near the sink and in the shower. The only down part was that our window faced a wall and the bathroom had a glass window that face the hallway and could be opened from the hallway. We placed a hanger in the space so that it couldn't be opened from outside.
- Alexander (8/5): - The hotel is located in the center of the very busy town, and is a solid option for a short stay on your way to Machu Picchu. The main isues we had with the hotel is bad smells, mostly coming from the streets, which are poorly isolated by the windows and create an unpleasant experience. Expect that, the staff, even though not really English speaking was indeed helpful, the breakfast served from early in the morning helps you to get to Machu Picchu by sunset. OK experience overall.
- Doreen (6/5): In the Heart of the town - From my room the outside noise was veryVERY loud and went on until the early morning.
There were no amenities at all not even a small bar of soap.
On the plus side the staff was helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): If you stay here, keep your valuables on you. - I would have given this hotel perfect ratings, except for the super sketchy incident that took place when we were at breakfast one day. We went up for breakfast and the employee asked for our room number (not that uncommon in Peru/other countries we have been to). We told her and then ate our breakfast. We ate rather quickly because we wanted to get back to grab our backpacks and head out on our hike. As we were headed back down the stairs (probably 10-15 minutes spent at breakfast), we saw a man close our door and go around the corner of the dead end hallway into another room, leaving our door unlocked in the process (we had DEFINITELY locked it when we left). We went inside our room and nothing seemed to be disturbed (probably because we had returned so quickly). I could see the man peeking around the door of another room waiting for us to enter so he could leave; I went in the room and closed the door while my husband waited in the hallway. We were able to get the man's name and see his face, with the intent to report this employee to the front desk on our way down the stairs. When we got down there, it turns out that it was the front desk employee who was rummaging through our room!
With this experience, I will never stay at this hotel again and also would not recommend it. It was stellar in every other feature, but had we stayed at breakfast longer, we could have potentially lost important items permanently due to the poor hiring strategies of the Hatun Inti Classic.
- Ross (4/5): - Very noisy until late night. No hot water for most of the times. Good Location.
- Alison (8/5): - Nice hotel. Nice staff. Breakfast could use some help. Overall, nice place.
- Lois (8/5): - The hotel was clean and had that classic charm- white plaster walls, dark wood beams. Situated on a corner with good restaurants. It was noisy at night. I would stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, nice breakfast (starting at 4:30, which is very useful if you want to catch an early bus to Machu Picchu), comfortable bed.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible experience - We were initially charged less for one night and the manager called us to pay a difference for what we should have paid. We were overcharged and the bathroom was not working, there was water coming from the floor and they still wanted more money. They finally moved us to another room that was smaller and had very few amenities. We were exhausted from a long walk and expected better service. Overall a very bad experience.
- Carlos (6/5): Okay hotel - Rooms were tiny. Bathrooms were small. The room smelled musty. I think most hotels in Aguas Calientes are about the same. If you want better, pay for the 4 and 5 stars hotel.
- MARIA (8/5): - Pictures are great!! Over all the hotel was pretty good. It was very clean and the staff was very helpful. They will hold your luggage so that you will not have to drag it around town until your train leaves in the afternoon. They will even take it to train station for you before departure. Breakfast consists of cheeses, breads, fruits, eggs, cereals, coffees and teas. The room it'self was kind of small but it was modern with really good cable and internet. Great Shower.
What I did not like was that the building is built of cinder block which means that every little noise will probably echo. our room was located just under the kitchen and they start at 3:30 a.m. We had to get ear plugs. I would recommend avoiding this room. Seems like all the hotels are going to be built the same way in this area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, but slightly pricey - Nice hotel. Awesome morning breakfast. Conveniently bring bags to train station after hiking day at Machu Picchu, no need to return to hotel to claim them. But WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms and slightly pricey for what the hotel offers.
- Velu (10/5): - Friendly staff. Good location.
- Grant (10/5): Good with great breakfast - Great location for dinners/lunch. People at reception were very nice. Breakfast was really great
- Verified traveler (6/5): Noisy and Basic but Impecable - We were deceived by advertisement. We thought that because it was supposed to be near the hotsprings, it would be a calm and quite hotel. No such thing. The hotel is located near loud and noisy shops and restaurants. Additionally, despite appearances, it is a very basic hotel: we had just come back from doing the Inca Trail and I wish I would have found a nice bathtub. That said, we were pleased with the cleanliness, the excellent attention, and the nice breakfast area with panoramic views.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - perfect location, great staff, great breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place, close to everything. Staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was amazing and it starts at 4:30 am so you can catch the early bus to Macchu Picchu.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, comfy with friendly staff - Hatun Inti Classic was a great hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The location was near the Machu Picchu bus stop and train station. The front desk staff was the most amazing part. My husband got food poisoning (from Cuzco, most likely) and the staff allowed him to sleep on the lobby sofa even after we had checked out. They even gave us silverware to eat our dinner in the evening while we waited for our train. I’d highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Aguas Calientes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay - Great hotel, clean and comfortable. Very nice and helpful staff. They also keep your baggages after check out and bring them to you at the train station before you leave at no extra charge.
- Joseph (6/5): - Poor wi-fi, but otherwise service, comfort, cleanliness all decent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to Machu Picchu - The staff was so kind and accommodating!
Beautiful breakfast!
- Kevin (6/5): Late Breakfast - When a hotel states its breakfast start time time is 4:30, that does not mean you start to put items out at 4:30. We wanted to get in the bus line for MP early but breakfast was not completely put out even by 4:50, when we left. This was not a positive experience on our trip of 8 days and this was our highest price hotel in Peru.
- William (8/5): Great alternative in Aguas Calientes - We noticed the mixed reviews for this hotel and couldn't really understand the negative ones, based on our experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small, with limited storage space for suitcases/clothes. That's probably because most people are only in Aguas Calientes for a very brief stay to see Machu Picchu. It was fine for us. When some other folks came in we thought at first it would be noisy, but didn't hear them again. The room was comfortable, with plenty of hot water. The norm in much of Peru is to have no heater in the rooms, which means people would tend to close the window to warm it up. There was a musty smell when you closed the windows, but we live in a tropical climate so consider that normal. Others might find it a bit off-putting. The bed was very comfortable. Some packages include dinner, and their food is very good, And they start breakfast very early in the morning, so folks can catch the early train to MP. Staff brought our suitcases down the hill to the train station for us when we were leaving, which is a nice touch. Probably the biggest problem is that they need to give better directions on arrival. You end up wending your way through the market up a hill, which in our case was while it was raining. Without getting directions from a local, we would have never found it. Considering how expensive other places are, we found this to be a terrific alternative for our purposes.
- Evgeny (10/5): Excellent place - One of the best places in town. Everything (location, staff, rooms etc) is excellent. Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (4/5): No Internet, Wonderful Staff - The reason for overall rating of 2 is false advertising for internet (if the lady that checked us in and the restaurant staff weren't so wonderfully helpful, I would have given 1). There was no internet in the room.
Bathroom is fully updated.
The problem with the room is that it doesn't have any type of closet or place to put your luggages.
Breakfast was wonderful with excellent views of the mountains.
- Jonathan (8/5): Nice and friendly - Good place for the Macchu Picchu experience. It's a little expensive like everything in the area.
- Donald (10/5): - Wonderful hotel. Great location and breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We went there for Machu Picchu. Very good location and new design. Right above the main street so it can be a bit loud at night, making it different to sleep.
Cool elevator in the building, they serve breakfast starting at 4:30am to accommodate people's plan to visit the site. Nice hot tea in the lobby.
- Tricia (6/5): Good location, but too Noisy! - We had someone from the staff meet us at the station, which was a nice surprise and necessary, because the streets are very confusing. We told him we needed bus tickets, so we stopped on the way to the hotel to get them. The hotel was in a good location, not far from where we lined up for the bus. The rooms were fine for one night, but a HUGE drawback was the street noise! Getting up at 4am is hard enough, but when you can't get to sleep in the first place it is really hard.
The staff was very nice- breakfast starts at 4:30am. Suggest one person go to the line to save a place and one person bring them some food. Yes- it is that insane. Hotel will hold your bags for you while you make the trip. I would recommend this place if it weren't for the noise.
- Mike (6/5): Ok spot - Wifi is Slow and no ac outlet in room except bathroom but can't complain much for one night.
Breakfast on top floor is nice but if you leave your room at 4 to get in line for the bus it is useless. Suggestion get in line then send othes to eat in turns and keep your spot.
- Marie (10/5): Great location, great staff ! - This hotel is well located and very close to everything. The staff wad very friendy and helpful. We left our luggage for the day when checking out and all was handled with great courtesy.
- Kirk Alan (8/5): Nice Stay - The rooms were minimal in the ammenites. The hotel staff was very helpful in the storage of luggage as their checkout time is very early. For those going to Machu Picchu for the day, the staff will store your luggage until you need to depart on your train back to Cusco. The breakfast is good. Be aware that the hotel is across the river and near the top of the hill from the train station. The name of the hotel is Hatun Inti Classic. You can search the map programs and find it by this name. The breakfast was good and starts at 4:30a.
- IncaTrail Hiker (4/5): Mold in showers - We stayed during the off peak season and therefore had the luxury of seeing two rooms before landing in the third and only one without a moldy bathroom and a clean duvet. We had to ask for basic supplies that should have been in the room (bottled water seen in the first two rooms). Many of the rooms in this hotel are very loud as two sides front busy streets. However some rooms are on an interior covered courtyard that while being quiet, permit no air circulation and make those rooms hot. Nice things to say about the hotel are that they offer 4:30 am breakfast (if you want to beat the crud to Machu Picchu) and luggage storage. However, this hotel doesn't warrant its three start rating at all.
- TAJ (6/5): Nice hotel - Hotel is very cosy and the staff is responsive. Staff was waiting for us at the train station and transported our luggage both inbound and outbound. The breakfast and breakfast area on the top floor were outstanding. On a noisy street and the sliding doors that open on street side have virtually no noise insulation. Hot water issues.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was realty small particularly the bathroom. The breakfast was modest, at best. It was close to the bus stop for Machu Picchu (5 min walk). Wi-if connection worked well in the lobby but not so well in the room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): No good - The room was not very clean. The bathroom was small and had a smell to it. The staff was unaccomodating and the afternoon receptionist was rude, lazy and unprofessional. We even caught her painting her nails and not wanting to hand us the room key because she would mess them up.
- Frank (10/5): Perfect location - Perfectly located hotel and friendly helpful staff. Right in the heat of Aguas Calientes so couldn't ask for better. Magical experience at the end of a a long trek!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overall decent and affordable. - The Internet was horrible, basically non-existent. As I said the room was decent and well priced for the area. The breakfast needs improvement as well. Cleanliness and warm water was the big highlight.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was decent. It had nice breakfast with view. Room was just ok. Location was ok,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - they messed up our reservation and they couldn't find it so we had to leave our luggage in one hotel go to machhu pichu come back to that hotel found out that they took our luggage to a different hotel and we went checked in all was good
- Pete (8/5): Noisy - Staff member waited for us at train station, in case we had luggage. Rooms, not exactly as advertised in terms of candles etc upon checkin, toilet was running which they promptly fixed. Modern hotel, friendly staff, except if you want to rest for early wakeup to MP, even the back alley was noisy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent location, basic accomodations - 3 stars is about right. Staff was helpful, but rooms are very basic, and bathrooms are outdated. Rooms also have 1 inch gaps at bottom of doors, so you will hear EVERYTHING that happens in the hallway.
- Alejandro (8/5): - Excellent service and good location....breakfast is great incluiding the beautiful view
- banta (8/5): Great find! - We didn't plan to stay in aguas caliente but we couldn't book train tix for the afternoon return so we had to stay overnight. Used hotel.com to book; just looked for best deal. This hotel came up.
The shower was nice and it and with great water pressure. The beds were comfortable and warm. The TV had disneyxd in espanol! The lobby is swanky...and the views from the partially enclosed rooftop were magnificent. Our only complaints...hard to find and in the middle of it. Parades till about 1000pm and people out in the streets all night. After being up since 0400, traveling by train and bus and hiking Machu Picchu we were too exhausted to really care...we were out. There are restaurants, bars and shopping all within easy walking distance.
- Rich (8/5): Great Location - Wonderful staff. A bit noisy at night - from outside the hotel. Center of town with easy access to eating and shopping.
