Guest Reviews
- Kayelyn (10/5): Loved it - Manager is super cool loved the room. Clean, friendly, nice, accommodating.
- Victor (8/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice view. Room could have used a heater and an extra blanket would have been nice but it was accommodating non the less.
- Sam (10/5): - Privacy and quietness access to shops and restaurants
- Merle (2/5): Dump - This place is terrible. No heat. No ac. No hot water. No towels. No refunds. Sleep in your car before paying to stay here
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place is very scary! The rooms are super small it seems more like a housing unit for homeless. Not worth the price rooms are very cold
- Chris (2/5): - Dirty place loud with guests fighting
- Edgar (4/5): - No towels, no toilet paper, beds were hard, 1 flat pillow, & water from sink smelled awful.
- Joseph (2/5): - Place was horrible...
- Kelly (6/5): - Proximity to beach & entertainment was great, just wish the cleaning ladies cleaned the room better....I bought Clorox wipes & did it Myself
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Toilet was not clean, toilet paper was left in the toilet. I have no doubt that the hotel is rented by the hour. It was the only place that I could find. I realize that it was a three day holiday. I have pictures if you want to see them.
I left my suitcase open to block the door.
$50 a night would’ve been fair. I was charged 120. Please look into this place. It does not give you a great reputation Expedia
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I needed a last minute reservation on a weekend, the room they gave us for some reson wss not clean, the staff promptly prepared another room for us and were very helpful. I had just had surgery and needed a room to rest before driving all the way to LA. Thanks for all of your help.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place to stay and I would recommend it to my friends.
- NayeliDiaz (10/5): - The staff is awsome great frendly service ... The resepsionis is such a beautifuul person .. Was able to answer our questions
- Christina (10/5): Convenient check in - We love them at the Coast Inn! They are very nice and accommodating to the needs of their guests.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting Room - The bed and bed sheets were disgusting. I was very itchy and my wife became sick the next day. The floor was dirty, bathroom was filthy, The front desks was nice and polite but the room i was in was not properly cleaned.
- James (4/5): - While it was inexpensive ($53 for just me) based on the name, it was disappointing
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Super price, just don't expect anything for these low rates. Was told they'd bring me a microwave when one became available. They never did. I would think EVERY ROOM would have a microwave with as cheap as they are. Wouldn't have any where to put it except on my small nightstand. The shower was super small.
- Harry (10/5): - Hotel with cleaning friendly
- Timothy (6/5): Pleasant stay. - The housekeeping lady was very nice and friendly, sweet woman. She was very apologetic because she didn’t have my room ready by the 3:00 check in time. She wasn’t too far past the 3:00 mark. The WIFi didn’t work let entire time. I advise them but nothing happened. Otherwise room107 is a good room to request and stay in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wish there was coffee service in the morning. Otherwise perfect.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Upon arrival no one was at the front desk. Waited approximately 15 minutes for someone to show up and no one did. I walked outside to look for someone to assist me. When I finally got to the room, I noticed the one shower cloth and one bath towel were both wet from a leaking shower head. When trying to inform the front desk about the situation no one ever answered the phone. I gave up! The bad experience didn’t end there, it was another struggle trying to check out the following day. Ridiculous no one at the desk once again. I called the property five times till someone answered. It was a horrible experience I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE... I would have preferred to pay few bucks more for a better experience. Will not be visiting here ever again.
- allen (2/5): - Horrible.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place looked like a trap house. Terrible! no towels and sheets smelled funny.
- David (10/5): Great stay - Nicely remodeled room, easy check in.
- Matthew (8/5): - Place needs painting . Holes in wall but service was good thx
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property seemed to be on its last legs. The deadbolt in the doorway was seemingly held together by glue. The bathroom sink was not functional, the bathroom itself was not clean, and the linens given to us were dirty.
The bedroom was taken over by the bed, to get to the rest room, you had to practically jump over the bed.
Entering the lot was a huge bump that if you were not careful could knock off your bumper.
The parking lot reeked of marijuana.
It was located in close proximity to a strip club.
It was in walking distance of the beach and downtown. It is unfortunate that the hotel itself did not feel safe and the quality of life was subpar. We actually left because we did not feel safe at all.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was spacious and clean enough. They gave me plenty of towels and toiletries. The cable TV was good most of the time - it froze up/stuck on same channel for 10 mins a couple times. But the cons were plentiful. First, I was given the wrong room number key and walked in on some people. Then the key stopped working one night and I had to get the card recoded. There was no a/c or heater - just a ceiling fan. There was no overhead vent fan in the bathroom. The WiFi connected but didn't work for more than a few seconds and then would kick me off right away. WiFI was the same way all three days. There were some interesting people living downstairs perhaps long time stays. Me and my next door neighbor were told that some of the "junkies" staying there unplug the WiFi because they think it is spying on them. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room and they had to be requested. I asked both days and still nothing became available. It seemed like they were a little too laid back on important issues. I would not stay here again unless there were no other options for nearly the same price.
- RodneySampson (2/5): - I paid for the room for tow nights.. When I returned to the room. My bags were outside and someone else's was in the room i paid for.. a watch and necklace was missing. Worse hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bed is comfortable
The shower head looks like its moldy and the sink too
- Taylor (6/5): Room was ok. Staff ehhh thumbs down - Room was clean enough. No bugs or any roaches thank God. Staff was not so accomadating I called upfront to get a towel fr. The maid and the main receptionist told me to go out and look for the maid to ask her for new towels... The non deluxe rooms don't have air conditioning. And the house keeper was super pushy our first night and began to enter our room even though we were answering her telling her we didn't want house keeping service. It was startling and really strange. We also booked for two nights in a row and the house keeper was given wrong information so she came banging loudly on our door stating we needed to pay for the room or get out now... there was a mixup from the front desk but still after the apology it was just unprofessional and shocking how it was handled. Finally I paid 48$ in the beginning of the week and when we tried to ask the front desk receptionist we needed to stay for. Another 5 days was there a deal we could work out she refused and said tonight, Friday night, would be 140$ to book the same. Room I paid 100$ less the night before. Crazy that they would rather jack up the cost then keep the room booked for another week. Just shows places are money hungry rather then keeping business. We will be booking elsewhere because of all these issues we encountered. Shame...
- Francisco (6/5): - No ac no fridge no microwave no ice machine no trash can
- JOSE (8/5): - it was ok not the best but ok
- Verified traveler (8/5): - a/c didn’t work in the room I guess you have to get two bed room to have a/c that works but overall wasn’t that bad for 81 dollars right next to the beach
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Never won’t to stay this hotel anymore....no recommended!!!
- Elena (2/5): - It’s a lousy motel , they did not even have a trash bin bin. Room was cramped no room or leg room to move around , the couple next room was shouting erotically while making out . No peace , I would rather pay $25 more and get good comfort night rest .
- Esther (2/5): - Terrible
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No WiFi. No AC. Mold in the bathroom. I would sooner sleep in my car than return.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The photo offered is not the room available. No air conditioning. Table lamp was not working. Screen to the window was broken. Hot water for the shower was a constant search operation. Not a simple turn to the left. Spent more time waiting searching for hot water than I did in the shower either cold or hot. Had to nearly beg for clean towels. Sheets never changed once.
- Adele (4/5): - First of all the hotel was not anything like it advertised on Expedia. I was given a dirty room with no blankets or air conditioner. As well the TV didn't work. Even when they move into a new room there was only sheets on the bed. Overall a hotel with a dive. I was pretty upset that I paid almost $200 forget away at the beach but I ended up but this place. It was nowhere near the beach
- Renee (2/5): DON’T STAY HERE - From the moment I s tapped into this propert they were RUDE!! The place is absolutely disgusting! There were stains on the chair in the room what had holes in it, there was a placeic knife that had been broken in half and taped to the door, then the sliding latch was screwed into the door on top of that (the latch still didn’t work) there was what looked like mold in the bathroom, a hole around the shower head, the wood floor was all chipped & had bubbles in it. There were missing baseboards, the tv screen was broken, no air conditioner. There were people in the parking lot doing drugs, not to mention what looked like a drug deal going on in a room across the parking lot. No peep hole in the door to see who was there. This hotel is super sketchy. I saw Oceanside police department on the day of checkout & talked to them..they said they have complaints about the hotel frequently & absolutely wouldn’t let anyone they knew stay at this hotel!! I’ve tried uploading pictures, but it isn’t working.
- William (2/5): - Hotel was disgusting. Paint pealing off walls, floor coming up, smelled like mold, no hot water, landing at top of stairs covered with plywood and felt unsafe, and best of all a large spider in the bathroom. Left and stayed at a different hotel the second night. Cost me $330.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay Away! - Dirty room. No WiFi. Remote hardly ever worked. Police activity all night. Strip club next door.
- Verified traveler (2/5): DO NOT STAY - I WANT MY MONEY BACK. IT WAS SMOKY WHEN I ASKED FOR NON-SMOKING. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE
- Verified traveler (6/5): - When we got there the guy could not find our reservation. He left us standing there waiting for a while and finally came back out saying I have to pay, even though I was sure I paid online. (I double
checked and was only charged once). Our first room was terrible. The bathroom door wouldn't close, and when you got it to close the lock did not work. The walls are paper thin and you could hear every door close and every conversation. The room above us, it sounds like they were moving furniture around. We couldn't stand it after an hour and went to the front desk asking for a refund. They said it's been to long since check in and wouldn't give us our money back. But at the same time she said she can't check when we checked in. She moved us to a different room and it was right next to a main road. We can hear cars moving and honking. We put up with it only because we had to. We will never stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Front desk very polite close to the stores to go get me a sandwich for dinner was there at the hotel one day for work
- Verified traveler (10/5): Do I taste good ? - At first I read all the reviews and was scared but after I got all settled it was a really nice stay. The lady in the front was super nice and made sure that we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. For the price too it was amazing, but the only downside was I got bit up lol but that is something not deadly. This is definitely a great stay though would definitely come again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the fact they have an on-site laundry room! And the room is the perfect size for what I was needing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not we expected based on the Hotels.com photos - It was great the windows opened, nice cross breeze; beach walkable. Nice Bike Path. The floor was filthy; and the photo on Hotels.com had a shot of the La Quinta next door ... and the insides appeared oh so much bigger ... it was a very small room with 2 beds, no closet or dressers. We didn't know what we were getting until we got there. Still, being so close to the beach; it wasn't all that bad.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I like the checked us in quickly. Everything else was down hill. A/C was broken and full of cigarette butts, room smelled like marijuana. I told the staff and they knew about both issues. Gave us another room with mold and mildew on door frame, and no blanket on bed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We where told two queen size beds and we received two full size beds instead, it was false advertising...no room to walk...one toilet paper roll, honestly if your desperate this is the place....
- Jordanne Layman (2/5): Not even close to a 2-star hotel - On a weeknight, loud and wild party at 4am. The window screen was cut from before, where someone tried to break in and was never fixed
Sketchy! My mom was paying for the room from out of state, but since the card was not in my hand, they couldn't accept it! I had to pay for it.
- Keith (6/5): - Disappointed no hot water no ice machine
- Linda (2/5): Res not honored - Charged room cost as No Show - I made reservation for my daughter. She showed up and they would not honor the reservation because I wanted to pay for the room and they would not accept my credit card but were happy to charge the full rate of the room for no show.
- Jorge (2/5): Never again - Went to check in and lady in the front said she gave our room away. On this website it says 24hr check in, she said it’s policy if you don’t show up at 8pm your room is given away. I asked her to show me where it says 8pm on “policies” and she didn’t, she just kept repeating herself. She was completely rude. She told us to go to the motel 6 next door which cost us almost $200 for one night. Never will I book through this site or at that hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - None of the keys worked. There were people jumping through windows grabbing things, and after reporting that to the woman at the front desk, she didn’t really do anything. She refused to give us our money back so, we spent our money and time elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay here - Found loaded syringes under bed, condom wrapper with condom in it inside of the dresser drawer right next to the remote.
- N (2/5): - Nobody answered at the front desk after I let an employee know I was coming from a wedding.
- Francisco (6/5): - Hotel is really run down needs to be remodeled
- Elizabeth (10/5): A Gem In The Rough. - I found the the area alittle rough. But close enough to the beach and everything else that it made up for that. But it was the hotel staff that made me feel comfortable and I enjoyed my visit so much, I know I will be back again.
Thank you
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Probably the scariest hotel i've ever stayed in, rooms were too small floor dirty beds to small, not impressed at all
- Martin (10/5): Come see yourself - Price: Great price, friendly service, outstanding service.
1 to 5 scale I’ll say a good 6
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The manager is super nice
And I was checked in in a few seconds it was simple IMy view of the place was changed over night
- Celia M (6/5): Budget-friendly - It was ok lots of homeless yelling at night and during the morning people smoking outside their rooms so I couldn't leave my window open but the stuff is excellent and the service couldn't have been better. My door didn't lock so they quickly move me to another room and I was so pleased with that kind of service.
- julie (10/5): - I love it. I always come here. The manager is a great person. I love the staff. Theyre like a family
- Verified traveler (2/5): Learned A Valuable Lesson about booking cheap room - Definetly not the place for me. room smelled like a chain smoker lived in there for a couple years. The towels had stains on there...faint stains but stains nonetheless. The bed was not that comfortable and the bedroom had no A\C or Heating so it was a very cold night. Honestly i booked the room because it was the cheapest on in the area on hotels.com and i just needed something for the night. But I learned a valuable lesson...NEVER book the cheapest room you see because its cheap for a reason!
- Ashly (8/5): - Its was a good price for the room, was alright had bath tub very private
- Dennis M (2/5): Worst Motel Ever - Room was freezing with no heating system. Toilet wouldn't flush. Door had a lock that barely worked and no latch. No blankets or comforters on the bed, only extra sheets with no fitted sheet on either bed. No internal phone to even call front desk. I needed a quiet, cheap place where I can get important work done on my laptop and the WiFI was horrible. The only 3 rooms booked in the entire place and they cluster us all together where we can hear everything the other neighbor is doing and they were loud, obnoxious, discourteous and skateboarding outside all night. If it wasn't for the baby I heard crying behind the front desk when I checked in I would've asked for my $48 back but I felt sorry for them.
- david (10/5): they are AWESOME! - theyre the BEST!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): It wasn't the worst - It was small as far as space, with really no room to walk but but by the bathroom. They do have great rates though and it's close to everything!
- Meghan (2/5): Stinky and cold - No heat at all on a really cold night, a super thin blanket that smelled like smoke in a “no smoking” room, had to choose between keeping the windows open and freezing or closing them and being locked in with the stink, also kind of loud
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Although it was great staying in a motel so close to work, the room was horrible. It reeked of cigarette smoke and when I asked for a different room, the staff was very rude and couldn’t accommodate me. On my last day here, I shook out my blankets to make sure I wasn’t going to leave anything behind and noticed blood on the sheets! Disgusting! I also stepped on a huge cockroach and now fear they may have crawled into my duffle bag. I would NEVER again stay at this place! Extremely disgusting.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Oceanside - The staff there are always wonderful and do whatever they can to accommodate everyone.
- Labrina (10/5): Fresh by the beach - Great
- Tiffany (6/5): - Rude hotel front desk. WiFi should have clear instruction upon checkin
- TracyW (8/5): - It's by the ocean and small shopping area it was easy to get to and it was kinda chili out but the room stayed warm it was comfortable and the bed was awesome!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The worst hotel in Oceanside sorry to be honest. Leaking pipes drug users working there nothing worth what they are charging. Hope they build a new hotel there.
- Nicole (4/5): - Roaches and no hot/warm water. Room has been "redone", but horribly! Linoleum wood floor lifting, Patchs on walls looked like done with silly putty then painted over. Front door had a 2 inch gap between door & frame, which they then placed a sliver of wood in, trying to fill gap. Another gap on the bottom, no attempt to fill. Where the door knob was, the frame was destroyed as if someone had busted the door in. We got a room that had 2 queen beds. The second bed was in a small room connected to main room, which would have been nice if we had the kids. Until we then shut the door, which locked it, & we were unable to reopen. Recliner in the corner looked like a hand me down from 1972. It was a gold color, except for the arms... which were black from so much dirt. The shower... where do i start? Besides having to take a freezing cold shower, it was the size of a motorhome shower. It was plastic, which had a 5 inch crack in the floor, that would sink when stepping in shower, filling with water, and im sure mold. Had to fold a towel & place on the shower floor in order not to cut my foot because it was right where you stand to shower. No ac, which last weekend of September, wasnt really needed. But the dirty house fans in all the rooms barely blew. The windows were so old, they hardly slid open and shut. We seen the roaches as we getting ready to leave. Theyre stealing La Quintas cable. During check out, the girl could care less of our complaints, acting as we were lying.
- Jenielee (8/5): Good stay on a budget! - Nice budget type hotel for the price, but the manager Susanne and the staff are always very accommodating and friendly to us! Just wish they had an ice machine :-(
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel rating - Pleasant and quiet. I. Like that i can pay for the room in cash.
- Janina (6/5): Decent - I've stayed here before in the rooms up in the front and it was nice and comfortable but this time we got a room in the 2 story place they have further in. Unfortunately we had to cancel the stay due to some cleanliness issues. Luckily the lady at the front was kind enough to refund us most of the nights we reserved.
- JOSE (2/5): BAD HOTEL - DO NOT STAY HERE!!..... 2 STORY ROOMS ARE NASTY, DIRTY, EXPOSED ELECTRICAL WIRES, TOWELS ON TOP OF TOILET TANK, CHECKED IN AND AFTER SEEING THE REALLY BAD ROOM LEFT AS SOON AS WE COULD BOOK ANOTHER HOTEL, MAYBE THE ROOMS ON THE SIDE ARE A LITTLE BETTER BUT THE 2 STORY BLDG ROOMS ARE OUT OF A HORROR MOVIE!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): You get what you pay for - It's an old hotel but it's also the cheapest. There's no ice, no pool or Jacuzzi, no microwave or refrigerator available in the rooms or anywhere else for that matter. To top it off they have an absolutely NO GUESTS POLICY! OH AN NO PETS EITHER!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst Hotel Ever. - The Blankets were filthy. The floor was falling apart. Electrical wires were sticking out. There were drug users everywhere. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
- Elijah (2/5): - Terrible don’t stay here
- BOTIELUS (6/5): Scarface/Bates but in a fun way! - Great clerk/staff. Clean, no bugs, comfy bed/pillows. Right near awesome restaurant, walking distance to beer, AWESOME brew pub, restaurants, ocean! Motel itself: horrible! But in a good way! I described to my pals as "Scarface/bates" motel! I was shocked it didn't have airconditioning! But my bad, cause coast of california, forgot it's not essential lots of the times. Really run down kind of place, but not sure how many stars it showed, so that might be exactly fine! Could NOT figure out how to have hot water in shower, so..... Sink had ZERO water pressure for the hot water (so NO hot water there). But had mini fridge! And slept fine :-)
- Verified traveler (2/5): - One of the worst places I have stayed at in my life I have payed less in life and had a better experience you die of heat aswell no air conditioning online it doesn’t explain that you will have no air circulating mattress was old ended up waking up in back pain I felt as if it was more of a place for prostitution and the only reason I stayed I was not familiar with the area and all surrounding areas were booked and needed a place to sleep!
- Samer (2/5): DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE - The room has a smell from the bathroom, sheets had stains, I had to buy my own sheets from Target, paint on wall peeled off, no microwave, no hair dryer, no A/C, their website shows the location by the beach and almost had no space to park in the parking lot. I have been traveling for 40 years and this hotel was the worst ever experience.
- Shannon (4/5): - The tv didn't work. The lamp next to the bed didn't work. I'm pretty sure that the young people staying above me were dealing drugs. The staff was very friendly and the best thing about the room was that it was available at short notice. The room was clean.
- Yvonne (2/5): - There was no air conditioning , the handle for the faucet in the bathroom was loose no extra towels in the room not happy at all !
- vanessa (4/5): Stay on of an emergency - Booked this since it was next door to where the rest of the family was staying which had no availability. Place is run down big time! We had to wait to check in because the gal doing check in was on lunch. Provided a bed and roof but that’s about it.
- WinterRose (10/5): - Very homey The staff is very nice makes you feel comfortable and always at home .
- Verified traveler (2/5): - My worst experience when I opened the door I knew it's going to be bad
- Kim (6/5): - Location was convenient and facility was quaint. The staff was very nice and friendly. The room we were assigned didnt have airconditioning so that is the reason for the OK ratings.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not bad for the price you pay. The room was nice and clean. The location was good.
- Makaylia (6/5): I don't recommend - Very sketchy people staying at the motel. Lots of prostitution, gangs, drugs, and violence throughout the motel. Definitely not kid friendly. Cockroaches in bathroom
- Jake (4/5): - There was visible stains on the walls and doors. The air conditioner was uncomfortablely close to the bed. The parking lot was nearly impossible to exit and enter during the evening. Parking lot environment felt unsafe for women and children during the evening.
- Veronica (10/5): Great hotel.stay - Nice and accomodations were good
- Vitaliy (10/5): - Great location ...affordable price ... rooms are clean ..A lot of car parking Space... my parking space in front of my door room that’s really cool !!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - OkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkjjjjjjjjjjjKkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
