Guest Reviews
- James (8/5): - Qui
- Nathan (10/5): - Very nice accomodations, small and quiet. Stairs are somewhat an issue. Great staff, breakfast was super.
- robert (10/5): - Marie Eve was a terrific host, very helpful and kind - breakfast was great!
- Martina (10/5): - I love this hotel!!! It’s amazing
- Jonathan (10/5): - We loved this little boutique hotel right in the heart of Old Quebec. The neighborhood was full of old world charm and the hotel was sophisticated in style. Our room was beautiful and full of character. We loved the little touches in our room: bathrobes, filtered water on tap, a Nespresso machine and a small frig with goodies! The main level of the hotel also had some lovely touches including a tasty breakfast. I think our favorite part of the hotel was Marie Eve. She was kind, informative and just a true gem. Quebec City was beyond what we imagined and Hotel Cap Diamant was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 20th anniversary.
- Myrna (10/5): - The service was beyond excellent. Staff was fluent in French and English. Very helpful with luggage and suggestions for nearby restaurants. Marie-Eve was especially helpful.
- Joanne (10/5): - Hotel Cap Diamant was a delight. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Beautifully restored building. Every detail taken into consideration. Furniture, linens and glasswear were just lovely. Breakfast room overlooks a beautiful walled garden. Located very close to heart of Old Quebec City. There are stairs to enter the building and all but one room require more stairs. We will stay here again!
- Lee (10/5): - Breakfast was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bathroom was a bit small but room was quite comfortable. Excellent location for exploring Old Town Quebec City.
- Anthony (8/5): Excellent Location, Wonderful Staff! - Wonderful hotel with excellent staff and attentiveness. Perfect location on a quiet street in the historic area close and walkable to everything! Note that this hotel is not good for those with physical impairments, as there are lots of steps and no elevator. It is quite beautiful. The teeny tiny sinks in the bathrooms are a poor design choice, especially for those bathrooms that can fit a larger sink. The other sink in the main bedroom was not very useful. Loved the light breakfast served daily. Overall a comfortable stay for those looking for quiet evenings.
- Serena (8/5): - Very nice experience. Room was clean and spacious, shower had abundant hot water, and a nice rainshower/wand combo. The continental breakfast was fresh and delicious. The only downside, is getting up the front stairs. I would not have booked this hotel, had I known how steep the stairs were, because of my bad knees. Other than that, we loved staying there!
- Carl (8/5): Lovely hotel but not perfect - The front desk staff and those who served the breakfast were great. The maid service left a lot to be desired because we had to ask for toilet paper twice and it was strange how the room was cleaned. One time the bed was made but the dirty towels were not picked up and another time the bed was not made and the towels were changed.
Also, if you have problems with stairs you cannot stay here.
The location is perfect, the hotel is beautiful and we felt very safe there.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Beautiful small boutique hotel.
My only concern was access to the rooms. We had a great deal of trouble. Getting into our room in the evening.
- Angie (10/5): - Excellent boutique hotel. Bathrooms are small but expected in a historical house/hotel. Wonderful continental breakfast and amenities. Can control the temp in room which is wonderful. Also neat sitting/working rooms on the first and second floor and access to by the glass wine at any time. Wonderful stay for our anniversary!
- Jan (10/5): - Rooms had firm but very comfortable beds! The service was exceptional! Oliver was so thoughtful and welcoming! Restaurant options were many, and all within 15 min walk. Close to Old Town and Chateau. Highly recommend!!
- Neil (10/5): - Quaint hotel in a quiet area, easy walking distance to most places including Chateau Frontenac, Dufferin Terrasse.
- Tina (10/5): - Great hotel!
- Martha (8/5): - I liked alot the room, the only thing i did not like was that the bathroom was a little bit smaill. I liked the continental breaksfast in the garden.
- Martin (10/5): - Beautiful hotel and staff were amazing. Parking directions are terrible sinage needed
- Daniella (10/5): - Will forever stay at this property when visiting Quebec City! The hotel is small and intimate. The decor was a vibe! The staff so friendly and accommodating! It was perfect from start to finish for a romantic weekend away!!! The wine dispenser and breakfast offering a nice touch! The bathroom scents make me wish I purchased some to take home!
Yes, the bathroom narrow and sink tiny making it hard for cleansing/makeup but not a reason not to stay here. And yes the flights of stairs awakened my legs lol but totally worth it for the overall ambience and enjoyment.
- Diane (8/5): - The pros; very conveniently located. A very short distance to the Château Frontenac and restaurants, etc. Olivier is a wonderful staff member and was very welcoming and efficient . The windows of the rooms open so you could get a breeze and the air conditioning worked wonderfully. The beds were very comfortable And housekeeping was appreciated every single day. More than sufficient supplies of towels and soaps, lotions, etc. A few free items in the refrigerated drawer, which was nice in a pinch. The cons were that although this is a historic property, it has been fully modernized in the interior in a rather dark modern concept. In fact, the interior design refers to itself as a hotel concept. There are advertising items for the lamps, pillows, etc. The original character of the hotel is gone. There are no Antiques. Some of the stone walls have been covered up. So if you’re looking at the older reviews, this new hotel interior is completely different. There are mobility/disability issues in that the entry stairs, as with many historic properties are extremely steep. In addition, the interior stairs are remarkably steep. There is only one room on the first floor room number 9 and the rest all required the climbing of the stairs, which take some care to negotiate. There is a Luggage elevator, but no elevator for actual people. The rooms have been redone with laminated modular units, which are unique, but form did not follow function in this location.
- Andrew (10/5): Memorable stay in Quebec City - The property and staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable, clean, and the property very relaxing. The staff were very helpful and provided a sauvé continental breakfast every morning along with espresso 24 hours a day. The backyard was not quite open yet but it was beautiful. The location is ideal, easy to get to and from old village and all of the sights but also off the beaten path enough to be peaceful
- Luis (10/5): - Charming boutique hotel. Amazing staff
- Camille (10/5): - Beautiful hotel! We loved our stay at Hotel Cap Diamant, very quiet, friendly staff and wonderful breakfast. We would highly recommend staying here.
- Anthony (10/5): - The private court yard, and the Hotels location were exceptional.
- Mark (8/5): - The room was very tiny, the bathroom sink was so small it’s was almost unusable, the bathroom door did not close properly so there was a lack of privacy.
Coffee and creamer was provided which was nice and the hotel and area felt safe.
- Christina (10/5): Would visit again - The hotel had a great location and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They had a lovely patio for outdoor breakfast or a glass of wine. I especially liked their wine machine.
- Benjamin (8/5): - Beautiful property. Unfortunately the ac did not work. Windows open adequately
- Irma (8/5): -
The window in my room didnt close.
Breakfast is good but is the same everyday.
- JoAnne (10/5): - Loved the welcoming cozy feel of the hotel. It felt like we were at home but with the added bonus of a prepared breakfast each morning! Staff was kind, helpful and very pleasant.
- Diego (10/5): - Great hotel, the staff are really helpful
- Matthew (10/5): - Charming property and a great place to stay in QC
- Gail (10/5): - This is a lovely property within the walled city. Beware of the steep stairs going into the main building (and steep stairway up) but beyond that, the location was excellent. Each room is slightly different. One thing to be aware of is the tiny bathroom sink. The shower is plenty large but I’ve never seen such a small sink.
The complimentary snacks (cookies, gummy bears, candy and nuts) were very much appreciated and it was so nice to have a Nespresso machine. The breakfast was continental and very nice; they had gf toast for me, which was an unexpected bonus.
The bed was comfortable and I didn’t hear noise from outside.
I would gladly stay here again as it was a nice walking distance from the main part of town.
- Dylan (10/5): - Wonderful boutique hotel right in the heart of old Quebec City. An added bonus is that the furniture is made in Quebec. Highly recommend!
- Sally (10/5): - The staff was excellent. Being a techno-dinosaur and feeling under the weather, the staff were able to order food brought in as I was unable to go out. They went out of their way to be helpful.
- Janice (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff
- Milton (10/5): - This property is absolutely stunning inside and out. The staff attended every single detail and the co textual breakfast was fresh and delicious. Loved it
- Peter (8/5): - Very well appointed, nice sitting areas and bedroom furnishings. Bathroom small with very little sink. Breakfast good but needs more variation for longer stays.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - This hotel is wonderful in so many ways. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast is small, but delicious. The new furnishings are modern and comfortable. Everything is spotless. The area is rich in history, shopping, and dining choices. We are already looking forward to our next stay at Hotel Cap Diamant.
- Jannet (10/5): Amazing boutique hotel - It is an Amazing boutique hotel, the staff is great, they make the difference. Very welcoming and kind and helpful. Always willing to make the best of your stay. Rooms are nice and clean, great view from the room , delicious breakfast. Excellent coffee machine in room Nespresso vertuo. Will stay again definitely. We loved it. Best location , near everything in the middle of all but a quiet tranquil street. Worth all the hotel. Totally recommended. Maria was super kind to us and helped in anything we needed. Thanks to staff again. The amenities were the best. The products used are top quality.
- Michael (10/5): Nice hotel - Good location near attractions. Room was clean. Bathroom small, sink tiny, but a second sink by coffee bar was larger. Hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast was provided and very good. Parking was nearby
- Caroline (10/5): - The property was very clean and very nicely put together. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location close to attractions. Would stay again.
- Shady (10/5): - Lovely hotel, great staff
- Alice (6/5): - Check in was easy but I didn’t know that I would have to walk down and up 2 flights of stairs. They’re short flights so it’s not that bad but my bags were heavy so I wasn’t happy about it. The elevator is slow and smells musty. My room size is fine but I don’t like that it’s hard tile floor and only one small rug under the bed. No slippers and no water provided but there’s an espresso maker. The bed is fine. The room was a little musty so I increased the fan to get more air and also warm up the room. I set the thermostat to 24 it’s still 22 after 1 hour. I don’t know. The building is in a very convenient location with lots of restaurants and cafes and shops nearby. I think it’s fine if that’s what the most important points for picking a hotel. I wish the room carpet or rugs so it wouldn’t feel so cold.
- charles (10/5): - Cozy, close, clean, quiet
- Shaun (10/5): - Fantastic place with fantastic staff. Will definitely go back.
- Audrey (10/5): Very calming hotel and friendly staff - Amazing hotel with very caring and attentive staff. It shows they want people to enjoy their stay. They certainly succeeded. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough and would definitely go back!
- Edward (10/5): - Beautiful property and wonderful and helpful staff. Loved our stay. We’re coming back again in the summer.
- Nathalie (10/5): - Best hotel in the area for a couple or friends welling to share a bed.
Super comfortable
Only a few rooms which means only a few guests.
Privilege to be able to stay in this architectural building.
Can’t wait to go back
Great service.
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Amazing boutique hotel, great breakfast and lounge area. The bathrooms in the rooms are small but brand new.
- chris (6/5): - Wonderful property however our room in the attic was exceptionally hot we even slept with the window open each night. The design is stunning but the bathroom doors in our room and our friends are sliding doors that DO NOT COVER the entire door- making using the bathroom not so fun especially if you are sharing . We had to both stand in the hall if we went to the bathroom . Couples should be aware of this .
- Nicole (10/5): - Staff was helpful, nice and very accommodating. Beautiful small facility.
- Thomas (10/5): I will be back! - The hotel and staff were amazing. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The service at breakfast was wonderful. Offsite parking was easy and closr.
- Brendan (10/5): - Beautiful quaint hotel. Very cozy with a fantastic location.
- Thomas (10/5): Very nice - Excellent expérience, clean rooms, very friendly staff, good breakfast and very nice setup!!! Go there it’s inspiringly nice
- Steven (10/5): - Paula, the concierge of the hotel, was excellent - warm, friendly, helpful, full of suggestions. In fact, all the staff were wonderful.
- Hana (10/5): Amazing Boutique Hotel - We had a lovely time at this hotel. Such a unique and luxurious property. The room was very clean and well-equipped. As other reviews have mentioned, the only down side is that the bathroom is small, but it didn't bother me too much.
We spent time in the little lobby areas, as they were so cozy and warm. The small breakfast offered was absolutely delicious, and they have an amazing coffee machine.
Service was also incredible. I'm excited to stay here again in the future.
- tiffany (10/5): The Best Spot in Quebec City - My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Cap Diamant for several nights in January and loved it! The hotel has been recently updated and is so beautifully done. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious. The croissants are baked by a person who won "the best croissant" contest in Quebec and they are delicious! There is also a wine machine in the lobby. You are given a wine card so you can have a glass of red or white any time which will be charged to your room. There is also a Nespresso machine in each room (and in the breakfast area) and a mini refrigerator. Most importantly, everyone there was so nice and helpful! They all gave us their recommendations on what we should see and do and which restaurants they loved. We discovered some delicious "non touristy" places because of their suggestions. The location could not be any better as it's in the middle of old Quebec and only a 5- or 10-minute walk from anywhere you'd like to go. The rooms are on three floors so if you have mobility issues that may pose an issue. They do have an old school service elevator. It's not big enough for a person, but they use it to send your luggage up and down which was a great service. I highly recommend this quaint spot! If and when I return, I'll absolutely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy and very welcoming check-in. Quiet stay with very nice accommodations. Loved the wine option and enjoyed the lite fare for breakfast- perfect.
- Tracy (10/5): - Cute and cozy bed and breakfast
- MARIA (10/5): - Excelent. Full design. Everything are so nice.
- Jeehye (10/5): - Very unique boutique hotel.
Staff was very helpful with everything !
Breakfast was included and loved every little detail.
Valet parking was not available but parking lot was not too far. I would definitely come back to this hotel next time !
- Henry (8/5): - Staff is 1st rate and extremely helpful, place is quite, very clean and close to everything.
This is a old building i believe its 300 yrs old but the interior is very pleasant. Bed was very confortable but we had a room on top floor and found it quite warm.
Only thing that had issue with was size of the bathroom, sink was the smallest i have ever seen. I understand that retro fitting an older building has challanges but anyone of any size would have difficulty navigating the bathroom in our room.
That being said i have no hesitation recommending this hotel and would definitely stay there again. You will not find more friendly and helpful staff.
- marie-christine (10/5): - Beautiful
- Bonnie (10/5): - This is a boutique hotel where they treat you royally! Nespresso machine in the room, with snacks. Breakfast each morning, as well as another large self serve coffee machine! Beautifully appointed rooms, comfortable bed.
- Noelle (8/5): - The hotel is in a nice location, easy walking into Old Quebec. Very quiet in hotel. Almost felt the need to whisper 😂. The room was very clean. Only complaint is one of reasons we booked was it said breakfast included. The “breakfast” was a croissant and fruit cup. So, would have been nice to know in description when booking.
- jacob (10/5): - Staff was excellent and room and building was clean
- Sara (10/5): - My husband and I stayed 2 nights and we liked this hotel a lot. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm. We paid for breakfast to be included, which wasn't easy because I have Celiac disease and can't eat any gluten. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me.
The area was close to everything, but very quiet at night. The hotel also gave us the option to pay for parking, which was necessary (on-street parking in this area required a permit sticker). The parking lot was close by and safe.
Our only complaint was that we could smell cigarette smoke in our room, which I am allergic to. We had to open the window while we slept, which made the room very cold. For this reason only we think we will stay somewhere else next time. We would definitely stay again if this problem is resolved in the future.
- Claudia (10/5): - Fantastic boutique hotel. Everything was perfect and made our stay enjoyable. Will definitely go back and highly recommend it.
- Hope (10/5): - This hotel had made my stay in Quebec city amazing. The hotel is quaint and is within the old Quebec area. Very close to the tourist area but just located outside in an area that is quiet. The hotel only has 9 rooms so it's very intimate and feels very homey, and breakfast is included. Staff are very friendly and helpful and they do accomodate parking but you need to pay a daily fee, it was $30 a day. It's very close to the hotel and private. The bathroom and sink was on the small side but contemporary and well made.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Coming back !! - Super cute hôtel in downtown
- Dennis (10/5): Serene, Exquisite and Very Comfortable! - The owners of this property paid attention to each and every detail. The custom-made furniture through to the complimentary toothpaste (a very cool silver tube) to the gummy bears.
The interior is fantastically-comfortable and it felt as if we were staying at our Granny’s chic country home after she retired as a leading interior design professional!!
The location was superb….not close to be very quiet, but so close to the fantastic restaurants and features of Old Town.
Breakfast was simple, yet perfect.
Our only minor concern was the location of room Neuf (9). We heard the comings and goings of other guests, but this settled late in the evening as everyone tucked into their comfortable and serene rooms.
Very highly recommended.
- Erika (6/5): - The location was very good. Staff was excellent. But the room was very small, bath was terribly small and the bed was uncomfortable. We had sore backs and didn’t sleep well. Breakfast was adequate. Lots of character. Will stay at chateau Frontenac next time. Not much more expensive and valet parking and nicer facilities and rooms. This place is high priced for what you get.
- Derek (10/5): - Well above expectations.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Beautiful design. Serene atmosphere.
- Tess (10/5): - Beautiful hotel. Lovely, helpful staff. Will definitely return!
- dale (8/5): Enjoyed our visit! - The hotel is cozy and beautifully restored. Breakfast in the mornjng is light but a perfect start to the day. The staff is warm and welcoming. The location is perfect for walking to dinner or attractions. The bathroom is small, as other travelers noted. The vent in the bathroom ceiling was completely covered in dust. It must be noted there is an active construction site across the street and work starts at 7:00 am. The noise made it difficult to sleep in. Despite these few complaints, it is still a beautiful property in a great location.
- Roxanne (10/5): - Accommodations beautiful, everything high quality, delicious breakfast, the coffee was incredible and had plenty available complimentary during our stay, beautiful and felt like you've gone up a tax bracket when you stay there! Very luxurious experience, friendly and attentive staff that go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Excellent customer service! Highly highly recommend this hotel. They also sang happy birthday to my boyfriend and put candles on his breakfast croissant which was a lovely touch!
- Andreja (10/5): History and art - Beautiful property in old Quebec City. Tasteful architecture and interior design, nice breakfast and great amenities. Walking distance to everything in Quebec City. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
- Susan (8/5): - The property was just quirky enough for a sense of place & history. The hotel is beautifully renovated, but there are some minor inconveniences like a bathroom sink that’s too small for face washing and low water pressure in the shower. But we still loved our stay in this charming, antique B&B as it matched the history of the area - exactly what we wanted for our first time in Old Quebec.
- Charles (10/5): - I like mostly everything. But, the light and wireless phone charger next to my side of the bed were broken. So, that was a bummer.
- Jean Noel (10/5): - Beautiful and quiet
- Amy (10/5): - Highly recommend! This gorgeous hotel was one of the nicest places we’ve stayed. The staff were wonderful & breakfast each morning was a treat! Conveniently located in the heart of Old Quebec. We can’t wait to stay here again
- Larry (10/5): - The lovely staff is what makes this boutique hotel so wonderful!
- corrie (8/5): - Great trip. Really enjoyed the hotel, only downside was the construction around the hotel so it was a little noisy.
- Nanette (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and provided great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. The location was perfect… Close to everything in Old Town. Would definitely recommend.
- Ava (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was convenient and easily accessible, making it easy to explore the area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the great experience. Breakfast was simple but good.
They also offered paid parking very close to the hotel, which was convenient. The only minor issue was the sliding bathroom door, which didn’t fully close, leaving a gap. While I personally prefer more privacy, I understand this is part of modern design trends. However, everything else was so great that I’m still giving it 5 stars!
- Robin (10/5): - This was such an amazing hotel! The staff were so helpful with restaurant recommendations and places to see. And when we needed to leave early for our flight, they made sure we had breakfast before they opened. And this was a perfect location to walk everywhere! We highly recommend this hotel!!
- Ken (8/5): - Small European specification bathrooms 😞
- Yaxi (10/5): - Greatest stay at Quebec City especially for its price. Definitely super worthy
- Marie (10/5): - Great staff. Excellent, attentive service with a tasty breakfast. Modernized, spacious rooms. Bathrooms were very nice but a tad small. -The remodel would simply not allow any changes in space here however. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!
- Mary (10/5): - Wonderful breakfast! Historic property with very modern decor. Excellent products and coffee in room.
- Ed (10/5): - A beautifully renovated old building in a great location to walk around the old town. Service was fantastic from providing an initial orientation to serving an excellent continental breakfast.
- JOHN (10/5): - The property is in a convenient location, a 5 minute walk to the Chateau Frontenac.
The staff was exceedingly helpful with anything that you needed help with and very cordial.
The room itself was very comfortable with a bathroom that had a large shower but very smsll sink. There was an additional sink in the bedroom itself with space for a coffeemaker.
The continental breakfast is served in a room where you overlook the back courtyard and brought back memoies of visits to France with servings of croissants, cheese and cold cuts. Absolutely delicious.
We stayed 4 nights and would certainly book again on our next visit.
- Louellen (10/5): - Exceptional property, newly renovated with great quality and charm. Tremendously efficient and warm staff. Highly recommend!
- Curtis (10/5): - Cute boutique hotel within close walking distance to everything yet far enough to avoid the crowds. Staff and service was fantastic with a great light breakfast to stary the day on the right foot.
- James (10/5): Ideal Location - The hotel staff will do whatever it takes to make your stay pleasant. The entire hotel is impeccably designed. The location is ideal with easy access to Old Quebec. I would highly recommend a stay here.
- Dorothy (10/5): - Beautiful newly renovated hotel!!! Very friendly & responsive staff! Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
- Sheila (8/5): - Such a quaint little gem with close walking distance to Old Quebec charming tourist spots. Felt very safe walking at night. Staff and service were friendly and catered to all our needs. The building is old but the interior decor and furnishings are stylish and new. Loved the complimentary breakfast and view of the courtyard every morning and wish there was more variety or choices offered on the menu as we ate the same breakfast 3 days in a row. The only other wish is that there was a shower door or curtain to address the water spraying out onto the floor from the shower due to the shower design which was not the most practical or some way to address. Also loved the housekeeping daily and natural cleaning supplies and lotion provided during our stay. Will definitely be back to enjoy the quietness and freedom of the beautifully thought out space.
- Jane (10/5): - The hotel was beautiful. You felt the history in it. Breakfast was excellent - fresh and delicious. We didn't realize that there would be no elevator, so it was a slight challenge at our age to get to our rooms on the 3rd floor using a somewhat steep staircase. But our luggage was taken up for us from the street and taken down to the street level when we left which was a tremendous help.
We'd definitely recommend this hotel. It is very charming.
