Guest Reviews
- Joanne (6/5): Pleasant staff - Staff very pleasant but our room 405 had a terrible drainage smell when we run the tap in the sink.
Would request a room nearer next time it was a long walk to our room
- Jason (8/5): Perfect for what I needed - I was visiting family and needed a base near the front for a few days. Somewhere to put my head down at night, catch up on messages and recharge after busy fun days.
- KEITH (8/5): - Nice location near sea front
- caroline (10/5): - Lovely stay . Rooms ample size , reception staff and bar staff very friendly and helpful, evening entertainment was great . Very close to the beach and pier and shops .Only downside was the noise from traffic if your room is on the front of hotel as no double glazing as its an old building, otherwise perfect.
- Diane (10/5): - It is situated where everything is local and within walking distance. The beach is on the doorstep also shops, and dining facilities not to far away. The hotel was a excellent choice and is first class, overall a very enjoyable stay.
- Mellanie (2/5): Rubbish - Patio door didnt close properly and was opened by the strong winds. Road level room. Shower poor
- Judith (2/5): - This hotel is in desperate need of some TLC. No hot water in the basin, towel rail falling off the wall, shower just a dribble. Tatty public areas. To cap it all, we didn't find out there was no breakfast until we went downstairs for it. We weren't told this at check-in, and there was no note in the info folder in the room - just the times for breakfast!
- Colin (10/5): - Great location,
Easy for bars and restaurants beech life.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms were clean and well maintained.
Would book again.
- Andrew (8/5): - Good family run hotel, close to the seafront and pier
- Helen (10/5): - Although this hotel has limited parking it is a great hotel for a short break. Bar staff and area perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and stocked with tea coffee etc and towels.
A little dated but good value for money I'd definitely recommend
- Jo-anne (10/5): - Lovely place to stay, the staff are nice and friendly
- Alan (2/5): - When we arrived at the hotel they said because they had coach canceled they would not be doing food or entertainment so we had to find somewhere to eat and for entertainment the manaoer was very rude to us wben we decided to come home early
- David (4/5): - Mattress felt it was 30 years old shower was tiny and no power will no stay there again. It felt outdated everywhere
- tracy (10/5): Best hotel - We really enjoyed and would definitely book again xx
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location with a few minor problems - The location of the hotel is excellent. Very short distance to the seafront and Grove park areas of town. The room was nice for an over night stay. Unfortunately the towel rail in the bathroom was hanging out the wall. There was a pillow case missing off the bed. The mattress is definitely on its last legs. We'd stay again but only for one night. The staff we met were all extremely helpful, the hotel has a lovely bar and balcony area with views over the bay towards the pier.
- Paul (10/5): - Clean and tidy but very dated room.
- Sheron (10/5): - Location fantastic. Value for money. Lovely terrace. Lovely lady on reception. Family run business which, where I can, I like to support. This hotel is a sleeping giant. When the economy picks up I would love to think this hotel would be able to reap the rewards by giving it a fresh start. I will go again as it has everything I needed for a couple of nights away.
- Rachael (6/5): Ok - I opted to pay at the hotel when booked but obviously put at card down to secure a room. However when I checked in, I was told that the money had already been taken from my card. I feel quite angry because the money was taken without my permission. I had cash to pay for the room when I checked in. The room itself was ok, I had booked a twin room for my son and I. The beds were pushed together and the room was quite small, which meant that we couldn’t move them apart that much. Also the bathroom didn’t have a blind in it and the window was opposite a college, so there was absolutely no privacy, we never used the show for that reason.
- Anne-Marie (8/5): - A lovely very helpful welcoming place, gave me keys to room early as the room was free. Surprised to see such wonderful entertainment on a Saturday Afternoon.
- Jane (10/5): - Very close to Beach front and venue car park was good to have too. lovely lady on check in very quick & easy, will definitely stay again.
- John (8/5): Excellent value for money. - A dated building but noticeable improvements and investment.
Shower broke so had to be hand held but very spacious.
The staff in reception was excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was filling and fresh.
Had a pint, not the best and the old boy behind the bar bless him tried but could do with a more welcoming approach.
Represented good value and would not hesitate recommending or staying again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Book elsewhere - After leaving the house at 4:30am I decided at 3pm to book a hotel room as it was going to be a longer day than expected, little did I know it would be even longer and more stressful after booking in at this place.
I arrived at 19:15 almost 15 hours after leaving home, just needing a shower, maybe a beer and a bed. I was greeted by a completely closed hotel, no lights, no life, no one answering the phone. All this despite taking payment 4 hours earlier.
Avoid.
- Nigel (10/5): - Very good for the price
- Paul (10/5): - Pleasant
- Karima (10/5): Very nice little hotel close to the beach! - Very nice staff! Really enjoyed my experience there! I will book again thank you!
- Nigel (10/5): Comfortable friendly 1 night stay - Lovely comfortable 1 night stay
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Pleasant welcome. Reserved space for car. Room ready early. Very clean and tidy and great pint un bar. Will def stay here again
- Lesley (10/5): Weston super mare - Fabulous thanks for the lovely stay and thank for the breakfast 😀 😊 we love weston super mare so we will hopefully be able to use your hotel for the summer hols once agaiin thanks for our stay lesley and emma from room 108
- Ann (8/5): Single traveller - Stayed for 2 nights here. Only real issue i had was bed lumpy and hard and seemed to tilt on one side. Room was suitable for me as a single person. Did feel abit awkward going through function room to get to my room whilst a private event was being held there. I did not use bar or dining room as i was meeting family. All staff i did engage with were friendly and helpful. Would i use this hotel again probably if circumstances were right.
- Teresa (8/5): Cosy stay - Lovely hotel right on the front , friendly service cosy room , the manager was very helpful and helped us with parking as I hadn't booked parking in advance. Very relaxing stay would stay again
- Nick (8/5): - Nice hotel tocks all the boxes for me great location
- Katie (10/5): Lovely get away - We had an amazing weekend we can’t fault the hotel. Lovely room and in a perfect location. We are already planning on coming back
- Nigel (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent choice for a very comfortable overnight stay.
Very friendly, very clean highly recommended
- Barrie (10/5): - Good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very friendly hotel - The hotel was having work done. Our roo was clean but i think if work is being done the rooms should not be used .The staff were friendly but think understaff at breakfast we had to wait a while for plates and the food to be replenished.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For the price it was very good and so clean. The staff were very good but avoid the Wetherspoon pub next door. Entertainment on the Friday and Saturday we a bonus. Would certainly go back
- Danica (8/5): Good well-rounded accommodation in a fab location. - Overall we had a nice comfortable stay. The only complaint for me, was that there was no Air Con in the room . Otherwise, it was generally good and fit for purpose — we stayed for a couple nights for our friend’s wedding.
The hotel were very accommodating of our early check in, and access was straight forward well after-hours during the night.
We made the most of the TV and Broadband on day2 as we were generally just tired and hungover.
As a result, we missed Breakfast so can’t really give a review of this. we missed breakfast again the next morning because it was only available 8-9am which I think is early, especially for a Sunday.
The bar is reasonably priced, we’ve been a few times — even when we weren’t staying here, and over the weekend they had live cabaret entertainment. We were on the 2nd floor and it was really peaceful - couldn’t hear anything from downstairs.
The location is the most appealing, it’s very centrally located to everything we needed — the registry office, the grand pier, the seafront, the shopping mall, plenty of eating establishments etc.
Would gladly recommend to others :-) .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for a WSM stay - Traditional hotel with a friendly welcome. Nice location, perfect for exploring the local area.
- Adam (10/5): Nice, comfy and friendly. - Nice family run place, don’t expect the Hilton but certainly worth staying a few nights.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very accessible and frieny with noticeable upgrades taking place
- Diane Harrison (10/5): - Very comfy accommodation,breakfast a exhalent
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good place to stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is great. We could not get parked at the hotel the evening we arrived and ended up having to pay. There are only a few spaces and parking cameras everywhere
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Only stayed for one night. Lovely place right on the front, large room with a sea view. Staff really nice and welcoming nothing too much trouble. Lovely breakfast in the morning.
- Melvyn (8/5): Mel and Nancy south wales - A lovely stay with pleasant helpful reception, only issue was the fan not working in the en suite and sanitary bin not emptied which was quickly rectified . Great location and will recommend to friends
- Alex (4/5): Nice looking hotel-badly in need of a decent refit - Not great. Having said that, what do I expect for 2.5 star. Hotel is right on the seafront, but very noisy with the "party crowd" in and around the hotel on a Saturday night. Very limited parking, so I had to pay an additional £11 to park at the hotel next door. Both beds sagged in the middle badly and the shower was literally a 'mist' that was actually quite difficult to get wet in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Could have better breakfast - Everything was good except breakfast. I don’t like instant coffee. Could have more fruits variety such as tin fruits. Orange juice was too sweet. Nice to have tomato juice but price was good so canno complain too much.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was great and we had a sea view room. Staff were friendly to a point where we didn’t have a parking space. Had to park in the hotel next door which cost us £12 for 24 hours and they wouldn’t refund us that. Think it would benefit them to have a deal with the hotel next door as parking is horrendous in Weston-Super-Mare. The room got a little too hot during the night too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were lovely. Room was nice and warm. Lovely view of the sea. Breakfast was great.
- Carley (6/5): Cold but lovely - The hotel and room were lovely but our balcony door was not sealed properly and the heating did not work so the room was freezing, when we called down to reception there was no response.
However for the loo rice and it's location it was great and we will definitely use it again when we are in the area.
- Gaf (8/5): Good location - Good value for the money paid. Would stay there again.
- ROBERT (8/5): Good Central Hotel close to shops, bars & beach - Great location, free parking
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly helpful staff, nice atmosphere, very convenieng location.
- Jessica (8/5): Basic but comfortable - Friendly staff. Basic but comfortable hotel room with all the necessary furnishings. Only criticism would be that Hotel.com informed us payment would be taken on arrival by the hotel, but it was actually taken 1 week before.
- Jackie (8/5): Jackie review - Had a fantastic stay room was nice and clean , fabulous views from the balcony
- Lesley (8/5): Lovely hotel - Weather was nice for the time of year, views of the beach were lovely from our room, staff friendly, nice bar, all round a lovely place and I would return
