• Alex (6/5): - Super gastheer die ons gelukkig waarschuwde voor marathon volgende dag ( en dus veel afsluitingen rondom hotel)en erg zijn best deed om ervoor te zorgen dat wij buiten de marathonroute konden parkeren en daarmee op tijd bij vliegveld kwamen. Bedden zakten erg door !!! En helaas was er een marathon volgende ochtend en moesten we auto ver weg parkeren, daarnaast was het (sowieso eind lopen omdat ) auto nooit dicht bij hotel geparkeerd kon worden. En best wel gehorig als mensen je kamer passeerden.

I have been too 114 countries, many many times over and I really love this boutique hotel because of ALL their staffs! They are super friendly and helpful and made me feel like family. On top of that, this 5 star boutique hotel is full of history and is over 500 years old! They complimentary upgraded me their Jr Suite, which has street view and a bed that is comfortable. If I had to make 1 minor critique is to change their pillows as it is a bit hard. But that is just my taste. The property is also located 1 min walk to the Venetian Harbour with numerous restaurants all day and night. Will definitely stay here again simply because all their staffs are top notch.

• Anta (10/5): Χαλάρωση και πολυτέλεια! - Ηταν όλα υπέροχα! Άνετο πεντακάθαρο και πολύ όμορφο δωμάτιο. Μας αναβάθμισαν σε junior suite. Μόλις 2 λεπτά απόσταση με τα πόδια από το ενετικό λιμάνι και την κεντρική αγορά.Θα ξανά μέναμε εδώ σίγουρα. Το συνιστούμε ανεπιφύλακτα. Ηταν όλα υπέροχα!

• April (10/5): - Great location in the heart of the old town, we were very happy with the large room with mezzanine bedroom and private terrace as well as a smart tv (not that we watched much) was great to connect to for music/news etc in the evenings. Service at the breakfast was always very good as was the food. For the money everything was spot on and would highly recommend this hotel!

• Mehreen (10/5): The best boutique hotel in Chania - We had the most wonderful stay at Serenissima Boutique Hotel in Chania. Tucked away in the heart of the Old Town, the location couldn’t be better - just steps from charming cobbled streets, cafés, and the Venetian Harbour, yet wonderfully quiet at night. The building itself is beautiful - a Venetian townhouse with high ceilings, original stonework, and tasteful modern touches. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean with an elegant, understated décor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and little details like high-quality toiletries (Molten Brown) and a beautiful bath/shower with just the right amount of pressure. The baby cot was a beautiful Nuna cot and incredibly luxurious for my little one. Even the baby sheet was beautifully embroidered with little animals on it. Attention to detail is next level. We had two rooms and our rooms linked onto a terrace. This was the best part as we enjoyed relaxing on the terrace every afternoon. Breakfast deserves a special mention: everything is fresh, seasonal and prepared to order. The scrambled eggs were absolutely divine as well as the pancakes. We loved trying different local cakes/biscuits for breakfast too. The staff were warm and attentive. Be prepared to cart your luggage at least 7 minutes from the Main Street to the hotel. Chania's streets are very narrow and cars are not allowed after a certain point. Serenissima is a gem and the absolute best you will find in Chania. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the block-out blinds. While the electronic blinds are a great feature, one of them didn’t fully block out the light, so the room stayed quite bright at night.

The Serenissima Hotel is simply perfect in every way from the staff, to the central but quiet location and it's fantastic breakfast. A special thank you to both Petros and Alex who served our home cooked fresh breakfast each morning, nothing was to much trouble and always attentive. Thank you Caroline for guiding us to the best parts of the island, your knowledge was welcomed and made our stay even better. And finally....thank you to the chef who spoilt me every morning with her home made marmalade, and for giving me a jar full to take home. We are missing you all and hopefully will be back soon.

Note that I have a lot of allergies and they were catered for. So thank you very much. The only thing was that our room had one window which looked out onto the courtyard. Meaning if you had the blind open you didn’t get any privacy. I’d suggest a netted curtain here so that you can have both privacy and daylight. Otherwise a lovely trip with very accommodating staff.

• Tuan (7/5): Good - Nice and comfortable place to stay in a lovingly restored 16th century Venetian house with Ottoman additions. Despite being in a busy part of town, it’s very quiet once inside. The night porter, staff at breakfast (Petros) and Vasssilis (who checked us in) were all very helpful and courteous. 1. Breakfast took a very long time to come. 2. Our junior suite was lovely and comfortable but had no view. 3. Despite being a junior suite, the room only had one armchair and no other comfortable chair to sit in and relax. 4. As mentioned by another reviewer, the staff decided to start cleaning the courtyard with a jet hose at a very early time in the morning making a lot of noise, which lasted for a few hours, thus disrupting the peace and quiet of the guests. No apologies were given. 5. On the day we checked out, the lady at the front desk ignored us for 20 minutes as she was busy chatting to some newly arrived customers, giving them information about where to go, what to do, etc. I had to interrupt them as our pre-ordered taxi was arriving soon and we needed to check out and get directions where to meet our taxi driver. 6. The hammam highlighted in many reviews is no longer functional, and the restaurant is permanently closed.

• Adventuresloth987 (10/5): Beautiful with lovely hospitality - Serenissima was a beautiful, perfect choice for our two-day stay in Chania. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are very clean, and breakfast is so delicious + set in a stunning dining room. Most of all, 10/10 service -- we were the tourists who didn't know we had to park a few blocks away and carry all our luggage to the hotel (because a lot of the area is walking only). Carolina helped us not only figure it all out when we arrived, but also personally met us on the tiny road we got ourselves stuck in to help with bags. Outstanding hospitality.
• 127kendraw (10/5): Wonderful hotel, great breakfast. - A pleasant surprise coming into the hotel out of the crowded alleyway. The building is beautiful. There were only a couple plug ins in the European style which was a slight downside. The room was large with two balconies, quiet and rustic but beautiful. The only negative was the bed was not comfortable. The location is perfect! Breakfast was tasty!
• Salla (9/5): Beautiful historical hotel in the heart of the old town - Very interesting, beautiful, nice and fancy old building. Beautiful interior and decorations. Amazing breakfast (à la carte). Perfect location, in the heart of the old town. When we arrived, it was my birthday. They didn't recognise it at all, only said congratulations. The air conditioning in the room was very weak. Cleaners started to clean all the public areas with a shower very early in the morning, and it caused a lot of noise. There is no elevator in the building, so you have to carry all your luggage upstairs.

There was something so comfortable about walking through the front doors ooff the streets of Chania. The room we were in wasn't the best of views, but not the biggest of deals.

The breakfast was very good and the staff very helpful. Not much. Perhaps a little more space in the room but certainly not a problem.

The staff was gracious and helpful with dinner suggestions and our room was very nice. Wish we could have stayed longer. Be prepared to park a short walk away. Breakfast was elegant.

• JosieGtx (10/5): A lovely find in the old town of Chania - I travel regularly for work so when I take vacations, I'm selective about where I stay. The Serenissimia Boutique Hotel is a beautiful residence with an excellent location - calm and quiet but only a short walk along the winding streets to restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious and well appointed, the bed exceptionally comfortable and amenities just right. The highlight though, is breakfast - a wonderful selection of local delicacies, served with a smile in the courtyard. Our stay was everything we wanted and a little bit more.

• KSH50 (10/5): Fantastic Boutique Hotel - Located in Chania Old Town on a quiet non-vehicle street. There are only seven rooms. Ours was spacious and well-appointed. Staff friendly and efficient. Great breakfast served every morning. Just a very short walk from the waterfront. A very good restaurant - Tam Tam, is right around the corner. If you're in Chania, stay here.

As Chania can be quite busy and hot it was awesome to walk through the doors at the end of the day to a quiet oasis. The staff were lovely and full of helpful information. They booked our transfers for us and checked everyday to ensure we were happy with our vacation. The room was great, quiet, clean, and comfortable. We could not have asked for any more than Serenissima delivered. Truly outstanding.

• MaccaMedia (10/5): Perfect Chania location - The Serenissima is beautifully positioned in Chania Old Town, less than 5mins to the harbour and 15mins to Nea Chora beach. Surrounded by top class restaurants and bars, it’s the perfect location. We stayed seven nights and the personal service was second to none. All the reception staff could not have been more helpful or friendly, always happy to give tips on their favourite beaches, restaurants etc. our superior deluxe room was excellent, one of the best bathrooms we’ve ever enjoyed. Air conditioning was perfect and the beds really comfortable. In all, the ideal location within Chania Old Town

• Tomas (10/5): Perhaps my most satisfying hotel stay ever. - Everything about this hotel is fantastic. It’s located on a little side street , but right in the beautiful old Venetian harbour. The staff are super helpful and friendly, the à la carte breakfast is entirely satisfying (it actually makes the normal buffet brekkie seem ridiculous…). The entire building is an aesthetic delight, tastefully renovated, it’s impeccably clean and the rooms are extremely pleasant, you almost want to just stay in the room… This is an absolute gem of a small boutique hotel - warmly recommended. The only sad thing is we couldn’t stay longer… 😎
• TourWorld (10/5): Beautiful boutique! - Chania old town is one of our favorites of the trip and this hotel is exceptional in every way - service to central location with lots of character and you feel special staying here. Breakfast is phenomenal, ala carte with specialty coffees included. Vassilis and Barbara at the front desk go out of their way to help out with vacation plans and all their recommendations were great. We spent 3 nights here - went to Al Hammam one day and spent time around Venetian harbor most of the time. Sunsets are spectacular, son enjoyed going to the clubs (short walk from hotel) and old town is so lively in the night, I never felt unsafe even walking alone at 1am back to hotel. Barbara booked a 4x4 private taxi for us for the day. We visited Balos beach with views from the parking lot - chose not to hike down as it was a really hot day; went to Elafonisi lagoon, and some wine tasting on the way back. It was a great day and nice way to see the island if you are short on time. Views are breathtaking every where. Booked a private transfer through Vassilis to Heraklion to visit archeological museum and palace of Knossos and spent a night there. Just a word of caution, there are steps to the rooms, and as hotel is in a pedestrian area, taxis are a short walk away. Vassilis helped us with luggage on our arrival from taxi stand and also brought the suitcases down the night before our departure so we just had to roll them to the taxi.
• DayTrip39634434222 (10/5): Perfection down to the smallest detail!! - I don’t even know where to begin with this review of an absolutely perfect hotel! Every single detail, every encounter with the staff(who felt like friends by the time we left), every breakfast, every coffee to start the day was done with perfection and genuine care. We were on Crete to hike and missed the morning breakfast nearly every day due to our departure times, but Vassilis offered to prepare to-go breakfasts to fuel our days! No hotel manager has ever done that for us before! The one day we were able to dine at the hotel was excellent and it’s included! There’s something extra special about Old Town Chania, to be sure, but Serenissima is next level charming and we were so impressed with our experience from booking to checkout! I can’t recall when I’ve ever had such a personal, kind, genuinely interested and caring interaction with a hotel and the people who make it wonderful, and I travel A LOT! From the many great restaurant suggestions to arranging transportation and giving guidance on the way things are run in Greece, we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with everyone we had the pleasure of meeting at this lovely gem of a hotel. I will be back and I won’t stay anywhere else…unless I just move to Chania & open that cat sanctuary ;)
