Guest Reviews
- Maryann (10/5): - Perfection. Extremely clean, Parking on site and easy. Beautiful view. This is a property that is quiet and easy to relax at. At the same time you are walking distance to town and can enjoy the shops. Wendy our hostess saw to our every need. She was terrific. The breakfast was delicious and well thought out. We will definitely be back. Thanks for such a great time.
- Lori (10/5): - This property is absolutely stunning! The view is amazing and the property manager, Wendy, was most accommodating with anything that was needed. We will definitely return!
- Lynda (10/5): - Our hostess was amazing. She made suggestions on what to do and see while in the area and even made arrangements for us to get tickets for the Shaw Festival Theatre. The breakfast was top-notch - delicious, with healthy choices and filling. A beautiful home and a wonderful host. What more could one ask for.
- Joshua Daniel (10/5): - This is the best possible location for a stay in Niagra on the lake. The property is stunning, it's quiet, the view of the water is spectacular, and it's a 5-minute walk to shops and restaurants. There are 3 wings, so max 3 couples can stay here at any time, and therefore lots of personal space for everyone. If you want solitude, but access to everything Niagra on the lake has to offer, this is it.
- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful property, outstanding suite of rooms ( we stayed in the west wing suite) complete with its own patio. Our host, Mary, was very welcoming and her breakfast cooking was wonderful. We plan to return.
- Janet (10/5): - What’s not to like here. Fabulous modern furniture and artwork throughout. Best location by far in Niagara. Wonderful staff who somehow know what you need and want before you know it yourself. Pricey but worth it. You know you deserve a treat!
- Antoinette (10/5): - The Somerset B&B is stunning. The attention to detail and well appointed rooms had me obsessed. We'll be back.
Darren was excellent and made our stay even better.
- JANG HWAN (10/5): - Somerset B&B offers the ultimate bed and breakfast experience in the Niagara On The Lake region. This is essentially a mansion divided into 3 very large and updated rooms upstairs, each with its own living room area, and balcony.
On the main ground level is the entrance, dining area for breakfast, and lounge. The grounds in the back even have a small private area beach for guests with a view of both the Niagara River and Lake Ontario.
The whole property is immaculate, so keep in mind to bring your own slippers while walking inside the house as there are cubby holes to store your regular shoes while in this beautiful house.
I usually see lodging as just that: a place to stay for the night while travelling. In this case, Somerset B&B is a place where I'd like to one day return based on such an impressive property and experience.
- Boyung (10/5): - Everything about our stay was ideal: beautiful accommodations with stunning decor, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, and excellent care by Darren. Location was ideal and just a few blocks from restaurants and shops. The area is very picturesque with lovely gardens everywhere. We definitely will return!
- simona (8/5): - The view, tbe house unique decor , spacious, excellent central location
- Tina (10/5): - A nice holiday feel luxury resort for a short getaway from the city. Excellent location and great service.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Le service personnalisé est exceptionnel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was sheer elegance and amazing service. Feels like home— but elegant and pampered home! All toiletries, robes provided. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to add some slippers. (Maybe not an option with COVID). Jodie was an excellent host and everything was organized and done to perfection. Have been to Niagara on the Lake many times, but this will be our new go-to if there is availability!!!
- Jason (10/5): Definitely a Must Stay - My wife and I had a great couple days here. Kim was an amazing hostess (and pretty good cook). The place was spotless, spacious and super comfortable. The location is priceless. We will definitely be back and can't wait!
- Gloria (10/5): - A wonderful stay at this luxurious B&B right on Lake Ontario with views of the lake from your private terrace. Kim was most helpful and brought our excellent breakfast to our room due to Covid19. Comfortable, large rooms with huge windows, beautiful decor and gorgeous public rooms filled with art.
- Randi (10/5): - Couldn't ask for a better stay! The property is beautiful, the room is perfect, the service fantastic. Hope to visit again!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location,
Lakeview in the historic town. Renovation.
Just wonderful!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful location, staff, facility. None better in NOTL.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful views of Lake Ontario and Old Fort Niagara from the Master Suite balcony, living room, and bedroom. The bathroom was large and the shower was great! Breakfast was very good, and our hostess Julie was wonderful!!!! Walking distance from restaurants, theatres, Fort George... Nothing bad to say except it is expensive.
- Mark (8/5): - Check inn was a little problematic but eventually got there. Comfortable stay, not cheap!!
- Pablo (10/5): Perfect Place for Singles, Couple and Families - absolutely perfect!
- Marlene (10/5): - A perfect lake view! And great services. The breakfast is very very good!

- Linden (10/5): - Fantastic suite, great hostess and stunning location.
Breakfast was 5 star. B & B to come back to.
- Ian (10/5): - The property offers everything you’d want for a relaxing stay away. Great location in ‘downtown’ Niagara on the Lake, wonderful setting and view, a fabulous room and Julie was ‘first class’ in ensuring we were looked after. We’ve already booked again for next year!
- Suzanne (10/5): This place is Beautiful !! - My two best friends and I just spent the weekend at Somerset B&B in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This was my first time staying at a B&B at NoL as I usually stay at the Queen's Landing hotel. What can I say? It was outstanding. The property itself is beautiful - we had the smaller suite and it was perfect for the 3 of us. The pictures online do not do it justice. The rooms are immaculate and so so comfortable. The beds are divine and the bathroom is spa like. The added touches like fresh tulips in the bedroom, proper drinks glasses and the nespresso machine were definite plusses. The balcony overlooking the lake is the final piece of perfection and I can imagine it's just beautiful in the summer. That's just the room!! The real jewel of Somerset is Julie who runs the B&B. It's very clear that she takes pride in running it and the place is a credit to her. From the pre-arrival phone call asking if we needed anything booked to the final goodbye was exceptional. She takes care of everything herself (no mean feat for 9,000 sq.ft) and could not be faulted on anything. We had a ball and felt as good as, if not better, taken care of than any 5* hotel. Thank you Julie for an awesome stay. We'll spread the word and hopefully see you again soon! Thanks ... Suzanne, Collette and Eileen
- Lair (10/5): Spectacular place! - A beautiful bed and breakfast next to the lake, great for families, very comfortable. Excellent view with a golf course next door. Julie took great care of us, and the breakfast she prepared was delicious!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Right on the water , huge very nice room - Was easy and simple great breakfast and friendly
Staff
- ivan (10/5): Felt like home! - All the way Excellent!!!
- Catherine (10/5): Lovely B and B - The Somerset B and B is an outstanding establishment, hate to talk about this place because it is a rare gem with a lakeside view. Julie is lovely and makes you feel comfortable right from the start.
- Steve and Beth (10/5): Great Stay - My wife and I chose NOTL for a long weekend visit. It was our first time to the area. We found Somerset Jouse online and gave it s shot. We stayed in the master suite. It was super spacious and very clean. The bathroom was was modern and luxurious. The other big benefit was the view. The house sits right on the water so you get an unobstructed view of the mouth of the Niagara River, Firt Niagara on the US side, and Lake Ontario. The location is also nice because it's a short walk into town and just far enough out that the streets are quiet. Plenty of off street parking too. Julie (housekeeper) was very nice and gave us honest reviews of restaurants, activities, etc. We also recommend the foodie tour with Charlie for some history on the town and a chance to duck into a variety of restaurants you probably wouldn't have time to go to. My wife and I aren't the type to laze about the B&B, instead we used Somerset House as a home base and it served our needs very well. Thanks for the stay!
- Sylvie (10/5): WOW!
- Kevin (10/5): Can't wait to come back again - There was a mix-up by Hotels.com when I booked on line. It turned out they mis-quoted the rate for the room. But when I explained what happened, Julie from Summerset B&B quickly agreed to honour the incorrect rate in order to maintain good customer satisfaction. We ended up having an amazing stay in this beautiful property. We booked the Main suite which had a huge private balcony overlooking Lake Ontario. Everything about our stay was perfect and we can't wait to come back again.
- Johan (10/5): Suveränt! - Fantastiskt B&B! Oerhört vackert läge vid utloppet av Niagarakanalen och stora rum. Prisvärt under lågsäsongen
- Debra (8/5): You won't be disappointed, a taste of luxury - Girls weekend, enjoying the beautiful sites of Niagara on the Lake. The Somerset was absolutely amazing. Our suite was so spacious with an incredible view. The large living room, sitting area was fabulous. The only recommendation is to ask if there are food allergies A short walk to the main area of town. We look forward to coming back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful view of the water! - Lovely B&B. The rooms were a bit of a flash back to the 1980s, square beige toilets, a bidet and brass fixtures and lots of 80s tile work. All in proper working condition and very clean. Very spacious rooms, and only three guest rooms in the Inn so lots of privacy. Great location two blocks from the high street through a quaint 1830's neighbourhood.
- Verified traveler (10/5): GREAT EXPERIENCE - Our time here was excellent. The room, the view, etc. were top notch. Julie was the ultimate host, attending to any needs we might have. Highly recommend this B & B. We would go back.
- Terri (8/5): Wonderful B and B - This was a mother and daughter getaway and this was perfect for us. The location is stunning as it is on the water and only a block from downtown.
The breakfast was wonderful with homemade preserves and a wonderful egg dish each morning. Hilda was very friendly and kind.
Our large suite was ver clean. Sheets and towels were luxurious.
My only thoughts are was for the price I was expecting some little extras. At our last B and B there was a coffee maker with a variety of coffees and kettle plus treats for nibbling.
However I can't really find any other fault. We had a fridge and nice wine glasses. And the view of the river is worth it. We spent two wonderful nights there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful stay ! - I stayed a master suite. The view from the room was so great!
- George (10/5): Comfort with a View - Somerset Inn was really lovely! As soon as you enter the front door you have a direct view of the lake! Open, airy, bright! Each room is a suite of bedroom, living and bathroom ! Lots of space! Only complaint was our room was warm first night and pulled out a fan! Apparently they were having issues with the a/c for that section of house! Next night was better. Nice breakfast and walking distance to Main Street ! They gave us great recommendations to go and see and do and eat! Definitely coming back some day !
- jason (10/5): Absolutely Gorgeous!!!! A stunning place - On the waterfront, blocks away from downtown Niagara on the Lake. Stay in the Master Suite and feel like royalty.
- Judi (10/5): Breathtaking, relaxing, and definitely again! - This was my first B & B and I was totally awed. The welcoming by Hilda was a setting for an absolutely perfect time shared. The scenery is breathtaking. I cannot wait to come during warmer weather. I've already shared this location with friends and would love to book this location for a few days.
My teenage daughters decided to camp out in the sitting room. The floors were perfect for them.
My only disappointment was with showering. They may need a larger hot water tank. I was able to shower comfortably, but my other three guests were not. There were approximately 10 guests enjoying their stay. This is not a hotel. So, get up early and get your shower on.
The home is immaculate. The service and food prepared by Hilda was totally above average.
My other disappointment was I didn't bring along enough cash to say, "Thank you, Hilda!" So, I'll be sending it separately.
