Guest Reviews
- jukka (2/5): - This hotel habitually overbooks to earn extra money at the expens of tourists. However when
everyone shows up theres shortage of rooms.
I was forced to change rooms, bounced around
like a ping pong..
Food was good. kitchen staff friendly...
Toalhas ok. Próximo à Tikal.
- Yobani (2/5): - They are not affiliated with Expedia. I made a reservation and they did not have it. I had to pay out of pocket. When trying to make a claim with Expedia they were not helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): the young man at the desk knew nothing of Orbitz , - I got to this lovely hotel and the younger man at the desk knew nothing of Orbitz I was charged for my room . Does that mean I was charged by you and by him .? Please explain
- Verified traveler (8/5): not good, not bad - The room was small and basic with lots of cobwebs and spiders. Checking in took way too long because they couldn't find our reservation. Mosquitoes were a problem. Breakfast was really good though.
- Rudy (8/5): Nice & clean hotel, easy to find & close to Tikal - We stayed in this hotel for one night on our way to Tikal. It is located on the road to Tikal in the small town of El Remate which is about 30min from the 1st entrance gate of Tikal. The hotel is also a travel agency and as such they offer organized tours to Tikal. The hotel has a restaurant that accepts credit cards at no extra charge which we appreciated because we were running low on Quetzales. Breakfast was included in our rate and served in the restaurant. The included free breakfast consists of 1 cup of tea or coffee and one of the breakfast dishes on the menu that are priced at Q30 or below per person. The breakfast tasted very good and the amount was appropriate.
Our room was room 10 which is on the second floor. To reach it you go through a nice garden with tropical trees and carry your luggage up to the 2nd floor. The room was clean, but not much bigger than the 2 beds in it. There were 2 windows, a quiet and efficient A/C and a flat screen TV mounted to the wall. The bathroom had a good size and a nice shower. Complimentary soap and liquid hand soap were provided. There was only 1 large towel when we arrived but that was quickly remedied by the hotel.
There is only space for 3 cars on the premises, which was sufficient when we were there. The restaurant staff spoke some English and the receptionists spoke very good English.
Long story short: This is a nice, clean and affordable hotel which lies within 30min of the first entrance gate of Tikal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): On way to Tikal - Stayed there one night. Was able to arrange ride to tikal for next day. Stay included hot breakfast which was good.
- Albert (6/5): Halfway to Tikal National Park. - Antigua to Guatemala bus ride to Flores for 8 hours. A guy in Flores who speaks English knows all the passengers destination. He said he will take us to our hotel for free. .
sort of booking our tour his way. Tour to Tikal in the PM, found out that the entrance was not included. Paid 600 Q went to the Tourist police and complained. got my money back. Transportation to the park, Flores and El Remate & back 90 Q. I saved a lot of money.
- Michael (8/5): Beautiful sunset, close to Tikal - Rooms designed to house many people. Room showed its age (damp patch) but kept clean. Bathroom functional with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Included breakfast was excellent, although we had to convince staff we were due an included breakfast. On site restaurant was excellent, free drinking water from the on site shop. 30-40 minutes to drive to Tikal park. Lovely terrace on upper floor overlooking the lake. Perfect!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget lodging. - I guess it doesn't pay to book budget rooms through hotels.com. This room would be a steal at $20, but through the website it works out to $57. The included breakfast is a nice touch, although the food was just alright.
- Omar (6/5): Baño no funciona.
