• Ronald (6/5): - Checked in to a room that was overwhelming with the of cleaning solution. Complained and was changed to another room. Much better.
• Deborah (10/5): - The Inn has character and history. Its convenient for walking, shopping and the onsite restaurant is excellent. The staff is friendly and very accommodating to your needs. I will definitely return and i would recommend the Irwin Inn to anyone that wants a relaxing stay. Its definitely not a cookie cutter hotel. Unique and lovely.
• Chris (2/5): - The room was cleaned with some type of cleaning chemical and left an overpowering odor, I could not open the windows to let the room air out. I couldn't stay the night and was refunded my room fee. The staff was nice and understanding.

• Marilyn (2/5): - Property looked unique. Unfortunately my room wasn’t clean and didn’t look like it was maintained. I accidentally went into the room next door, which my room key unlocked. My room key should not have had access to it, I was worried someone else would make the mistake I made but into my room.
• Gillis, (8/5): - Our room at the Irwin Street Inn was charming, a step back into the Victorian Era with lace curtains and scallop-bottomed shades and a claw-foot bathtub. The wrought-iron-framed bed was very comfortable. Our windows looked out to giant old trees that line the street. Very quiet. We were very pleased. There was a mini-fridge, but if you want a microwave and coffee maker, stay somewhere else.
• RESA (4/5): - Very disappointed. Had stayed there back in the late 80's. It has deteriorated badly. Hole in sheets, Screws sticking out of the wall, homeless guy sleeping in parking lot, curtains/valances missing, dirty cover on sofa, ball and claw tub dirty chipped and gross.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Tired and dirty - The Inn was dirty, old and decrepit. Bathroom fixtures old and cracked. Shower was warm at best. Not even a cup in the room for water. No where to get coffee. Homeless guy sleeping in the parking lot.

• Brandy (8/5): - Beautiful property and no I did not experience any haunting like others have mentioned. I rented the suite which comes with 2 bathrooms, front room and bedroom. Furniture is vintage which adds to this vintage inn. They have a restaurant on site in the main building. You are in walking distance to many shops and restaurants in the area. My favorite part of staying here was waking up as the sun was rising through the lace curtains, hearing the birds outside and it being so peaceful and quiet inside. Only negatives were that few items such as the ceiling fan was missing a blade and the spider webs, and would recommend wiping down the walls. Other than that there is a lot of charm to this place and I highly recommend you to stay here.
• April (10/5): - This inn was beautiful. Our room had the perfect victorian charm, the bathroom had a tub next to a stain glass window for a nice bath. Our room had a fridge, microwave, & TV. Inn was walking distance to downtown dive bars & restaurants. The hotel restaurant served delicious food, it was a great trip!

• karen (6/5): What Happened Here! - In its day, this facility must have been beautiful. However now it’s not:-(. The outside and grounds were ok but our room needed much needed renovation. We were only there for 1 night and glad of that. Hanford is a charming little city but unfortunately this gem from the past has lost its charm 🙁.

The restaurant and bar could stay open later than 8:30 pm, especially on a Friday and Saturday. I would stay again.
• vicki (6/5): - The hotel was neart historically but really needs updating. There was a wedding party when we got that had loud music until about 10pm. Not a big deal but would have been nice to know ahead of time. One of our blinds wouldn't close all the way and one of our windows wouldn't shut either. Very very basic cable and the phone and shower curtain were from a different hotel. It was clean but unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again. I expected it to be old and a little run down but not this bad.

There wasn't a place to sit in the room, and when we inquired, we were told all the furniture and chairs had been moved out. There was no hair dryer, and when we asked for one, there wasn't a grounded plug to use it. The lighting was completely dull - couldn't read a book. This hotel/inn is in need of a major renovation.

• Lorraine (2/5): Extremely disappointed with the entire experience - We stayed at this inn on October 16, 2017. This was our second stay, years ago this facility was very elegant, and quaint with lovely rooms and was our favorite Sunday brunch stop. Wanting to share this experience with our children we came back to the Irwin Street Inn with high expectations and were extremely disappointed. Upon entering our room, we were assaulted by an awful mildew/mold/musty/rotten "old" smell. The odor permeated the room, furniture and bedding. The bathroom was moldy and had constant faucet leak which I assume contributed the mold/mildew issue. The carpet & floors were dirty& dusty. The bathroom was not clean and there was an old bottle of baby lotion under the tub, it appeared to have been there a long time, as it was dirty too. None of the antique furniture had any hardware (knobs or pulls), it had either been removed or stolen?? We found cigarette butts in the dresser drawer. The hall chandelier had 6 bulbs, 1 working & cobwebs! The front porch furniture had not been wiped down or dusted in so long I chose to sit on the decking as I felt it was cleaner than the chairs. One of the chairs actually had 4" tall profanity painted on the seat (f***). During the night strong smell of sewer gas gathered in the room and we had to run the A/C and ceiling fans to circulate the air. We were so profoundly disappointed with the accommodations, that we got up early and left before breakfast. Our memory lane trip was good only in our memory...
• Erin (8/5): A very quaint hotel - This is a very quaint property. It's a collection of Victorian houses set near the Hanford Town Square. My room was very sweet, though it did have a little electrical problem that made the lights flicker. I suppose all old houses have their "personality quirks". Other than that, it was all fine.
• Linda (6/5): Hanford Hotel - Love the quaintness of this hotel! And the staff was wonderful. The room was lacking in some comfort amenities like a chair(s) to sit on, Kleenex, drinking glasses and shampoo in the bathroom and lack of light in the room. 2 of the 3 bulbs were burnt out so I could not read. It was also noisy as it was near the Main Street and the train honked at every intersection!! We did not sleep well for the one night we were there. But the price was right! And the staff made us a pot of coffee in the morning which was nice!
• Verified traveler (4/5): Visit to Hanford - The rooms in the hotel were not clean. The bathroom sink was not clean. I'm not sure if the sheets on the bed were changed. The room had not been dusted. The TV was not working but it was fixed. I think there is a lot of room for improvement.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible - This hotel took me back to the 1900's and I wasn't even alive back then. The room was very dirty and the mattress made A LOT of noise. I definitely don't recommend staying at this hotel at ALL.
• RTM (2/5): ROACHES - At least 15 German Brown roaches in bathroom at one time. Dirty. Mattress was hard as a rock. Poor selection of cable channels. WiFi kept dropping out. Clerk gave me a refund when I left after one night.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Irwin Street Inn - This hotel has allot of promise if they tried to do a little better on the basics such as cleaning rooms, having working refridgerators, and other things that one would assume a hotel would do. The building and architecture are great. It is 4 old Victorian homes from the 1800's. Many of the fixtures are antiques. It is right next to Hanford downtown and has a nice little restaurant/bar. The reception clerk was very friendly, polite, and helpful. The room service is bad. The floors were dirty and never were cleaned, beds were not made the first day, I brought this up and the next day it was made without a sheet. The refrigerator was not working for 2 rooms that were booked and they switched them to other rooms for other people to deal with. Towels were not replaced until specifically requested. In short this hotel could be something great if it was maintained a little bit better and the cleaning staff actually cleaned rooms.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Irwin Hotel a NO GO EVER AGAIN - Room had a musty smell; door key would only work once and had to reset the key every single time I left the room. Everything in the room felt "damp", mini fridge did not work at all.
• Jon (2/5): Just about the worst - We booked three nights, but only stayed one. We would have left the first night, but it was very late and we didn't want to move. The room was 49° when we walked in. We turned the heater on but it took about three hours for it to catch up. The room smelled like old wet dog. It was rather stifling when we walked in. Our noses got used to the smell, but every time we walked out of the room and came back we had to get used to it again. The absolute worst part was of the toilet was broken. It was not flushing. We realize that the water had been turned off because it was just running and not filling up. This must've been known otherwise the water would not have been turned off. It was very late and we were tired so we just stayed in the room. Other issues with the room: there was graffiti on the walls. There were no bedside tables to put anything on. The rug was crusty and stained. The rug was probably the reason why it smelled.

• mary (2/5): Bates hotel gone bad - My sister had her wedding reception at this quaint inn and my parents often stayed here so when my usual hotel was fully booked I thought I would give it a try. The inn was run down but dining room appeared nice. The clerk, concierge was a bit creepy. The room was smelly. The carpets stained and the bathroom was disgusting. Yuck. Got of there as quickly as possible

There was no hair dryer and there was no phone to call the office. I went to the office at 8:00, and it was locked. There was a phone number to the manager. I called 3 times and no one returned my call. The overall room was musty and old with old furniture.
• Andrew (4/5): Great Potential - The hotel has great potential as a nice victorian era hotel; however, it is in dire need of repair and upgrades. When I checked in, I had to call for the office as their check-in desk isn't really clearly identified since there is also a restaurant on site (which doubles as the front desk). I was walked to my room (pretty sure I was the only one in the entire hotel) and while reviewing the room, I was told the phone doesn't work in the room so call the main number if I needed anything. The mini fridge also didn't work. Some of the room looks like it's from the 80's and other parts are period correct. When I went to take a shower the next day I found that one of the shower curtains had mildew all across the bottom. I didn't ask to have it replaced as I felt I would be bothering the staff (if there was any besides the front desk person). There was no maid service during the 3 days I was there. When I checked out, I rang the bell for the front desk at about 8:45am and was greeted by the front desk person answering the door in his pajamas. He took the key and that was that. No "how was your stay, can I get you anything else" or anything. Now mind you the restaurant was supposed to open at 9am for breakfast and he looked like he just woke up. I know the hotel was recently purchased out of foreclosure so I want to give them the benefit of the doubt while they work on the place, but it needs some serious help. Again, it has great potential to be just a great hotel as it once was.
