Guest Reviews
- Brandi (6/5): - No breakfast
- Claire (2/5): - Advertised with 24h coffee, breakfast, hairdryer, coffee maker in room, iron and ironing board in room, but none of these available. Lobby locked and no one at front desk. Rooms look nothing like the pictures shown. Had some random banging out door at 04:00am for no reason. Would not recommend staying here at all
- Charlene (10/5): - Quiet and well kept
- Julie (2/5): - My one-night stay was disappointing overall, but the lady at the front desk was the one bright spot. She was kind and accommodating, even with our late-night check-in, and went out of her way to make sure we felt welcomed. She did, however, warn us multiple times to lock everything up due to a lot of people walking around at night, which was concerning. The non-smoking room we booked smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the entire space felt run-down and in need of serious maintenance. The bathroom had a noticeable urine odor, adding to the discomfort. Additionally, although pictures and information advertised that breakfast was included, there was none offered during our stay.
- BEVERLY (8/5): - What I liked was it was clean. What I didn't like was hair dryer broke shower didn't work. There was no breakfast. That's was one of the reasons we booked here as we were traveling and it would've been nice.
Also there was no smoke detector in room.
- Trainell (4/5): - It was dirty they had poop on the wall in bathroom tub was filthy
- Thomas (2/5): - Perhaps they should CLEAN the toilets between guests. Perhaps they should CLEAN the walls of what looks suspiciously like black mold. How about some routine maintenance on doors, jambs, etc. I will never stay in an Econo lodge again!
- Adam (10/5): - Quiet
- Mickey322 (2/5): Horrendous - Checked in and person in office left and locked up. We got to our non smoking room to find it very well smoked in, no cups, no coffee, no ice bucket . Pillow more like a flat throw pillow on couch. When I finally found someone there will be no coffee, gave me another pillow of same poor quality, they had no ice bucket. I got cups from our vehicle. As far as the room recking of smoke was told it is a non smoking room and pretty much deal with it.
- Chloe (4/5): - roaches in the bathroom, the shower leaked into the main area, and we heard profanity coming from the next room all night.
- JENNIFER (8/5): - Said they had breakfast and coffee at 6, but when asked said coffee wouldn’t be ready till 7. At 7:30 the door was locked (front entrance) to get in - so no coffee. :(
- Joyce (10/5): - Staff friendly and accommodating. Bed very comfortable. Not real generous with the towels. When I stepped in the tub to shower it was extremely slippery. I needed my husband help my get out. So I didn’t get a shower.
- Kenneth (8/5): - I didn’t have a coffee maker in my room, bed was a little bit hard. Other than that clean and pleasing
- Peter (6/5): - There were bugs in one of the beds. We just used the other bed in the room.
- Robert (8/5): - most things OK. Parking a problem, commercial customer blocked handicap parking, inroom coffee not working
- Robert (8/5): - Nice staff, very friendly. Thought there was supposed to be breakfast bar?
- Danielle (6/5): Fair - Check in was great, was told it was a non-smoking room. The room reeked of smoke smell, they tried to cover it up...however definitely did not work. Cigarette burn holes in curtains...could see next morning when sun came up.
Room was fairly clean and had been upgraded. T.V. was smaller than most motels. Pillows were flat, not fluffy.
Was just there to sleep and shower, so it did ok for that purpose.
- Ann (8/5): - Their ad says free breakfast but indeed, there was none.
- 347carlak (4/5): Not the best stay - This hotel had a couple of good points - great shower pressure and nice staff. Otherwise this hotel is just ok. We arrived around 7:15 and had to check in through the window. When we inspected our room there was no shower curtain and the tub was old and discolored however it seemed clean. Staff quickly put up a shower curtain once reported. The fridge did not work and we moved the console away from the wall and found that it was plugged into the microwave instead of the wall (hmmm). Then the tv would not turn off so we unplugged it but could not get it to turn on again the next morning. I also saw a roach in the bathroom. There was no breakfast, only coffee. You might consider staying somewhere else.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth the money - Very disappointing. Not worth the money. Doors did not.lock properly. Did not feel safe. Certainly not Americas Best.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Possible contact high - First room reeked of marijuana. The second did as well however not as much. The floor was dirty. The shampoo was left from the previous guest. Thankfully no bugs
- Kimberly (10/5): Best nights on our trip - Had a BAD experience at Motel 6 the night before and these PROFESSIONAL, caring people saved the day and our trip. They went out of their way to accommodate us QUICKLY and CONTINUED to care for us until we left. I have ALREADY rebooked. The manager (I forget HER name) was ESPECIALLY accommodating and HELPFUL!! The ONLY problem I had was that the internet and my phone weren't compatible.
- Karina (2/5): - The worse service. Received a room #103 with No A.C and flies inside the room. Econo Lodge could NOT accommodate me and my 3yr old into another room, refund will be process on the next following day!!! I will be calling the corporate office in the morning!
- Jaime (2/5): - There were holes punched in the bathroom door, 1 bed was broken and folded when you sat on it. The door had been previously kicked in and was not secure. We booked 2 rooms and they put us on opposite sides of the hotel. It was quiet and I didn't see any bugs inside, so that's a plus.
- Terry (4/5): - I reserved a handicap room not knowing it is right by the office where all the traffic is in and out. And the ice machine is right outside my door. I could hear my neighbors talk and the people upstairs sound like they have on combat boots. What happened to carpet??There was coffee in my room, but no creamer/sugar. And the noise from the highway is horrible as is the ac/heat upstairs. It shook my room. The room itself was nice. I loved the shower.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - When we arrived the guy behind the desk gave us a hard time. We told him we had reservations and he did not believe us. However, when we called our son his attitude changed. He conveniently found our reservations then without any third degree.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room and property were ok for a one night stay, but I wasn’t happy that none of the three property WIFI units would connect properly. WIFI is a needed feature that I always look for in accommodations, but it was not available at this location. Tried several times to connect and it just did not work. A better selection of cereals and pastries would have made a big improvement to the continental breakfast also.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not great but way better... - Need to improve breakfast. Room is way better compare to the price. I enjoyed the stay.
- BB (6/5): - Bath room is in poor condition .
Tub leaks from bottom out into floor,
Door to bathroom will not close, & door it self is busted
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was worn, but we were not looking for 5 star hotel/price either. Good value for your money...no friles
- Tommie (2/5): Never Again! - There was an odor the minute that the door was opened. It did not get any better. The odor was so bad that it penetrated our hanging clothes. We were afraid to use the shower because there were so many stains in and around the tub that we were afraid to get near them. I sat on the edge of the tub to bathe. The carpet was not clean.
The person running the motel was very friendly.
- Dalmok (4/5): - Pro: Front desk very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Bed was comfortable.
Con: Extremely strong chemical smell, possibly from "scented" cleaning products. Bad enough to keep me awake. TV picture very snowy. Bathtub dangerously slick. Noise from traffic and from neighbor's normal conversation. Walls very thin.
- Econolodge (6/5): - The staff were very nice. The outside property was clean. The sheets were wrinkled. They didnt have enough towels.
- joseph (10/5): - the overall stay was great
- Randy (6/5): Solidly Average...Great Price - Good place for the price, right on I20 in a not so great area. However the people at this location were great!
- Jerry (10/5): Cowboy18 - Very friendly staff. Complied with all my accommodations requests. Room was quiet and bed very comfortable. Got a good night's sleep after long drive.
- revjohannesm (4/5): Make Sure That You Have Ear Muffs - Extremely Loud - Make sure that you have some kind of ear muffs or ear plugs because the inside of the rooms are pretty noisy because I-20 is just a stone's throw away. The air conditioner - fan doesn't provide enough noise to cancel out some of the noise. I had to turn up the volume of the television to hear it. There was no wifi. The signal was extremely weak so you couldn't connect.
- Benjamin (2/5): - The hotel was very dirty and like they never clean it
- Ray C (6/5): An average stay - Room smelled musty but was clean breakfast nothing to brag about was simple
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Literally get what your pay for so I can't complain or say I expected more. The non-smoking room smelled like smoke & so do all the towels. Including every single one I've gotten for the last 3 days. Housekeeping doesn't come until 2 pm and only ask if you "need anything".
- Marynell (10/5): Good room for a reasonable price in Meridian MS - Clean room with easy friendly check in. Good room for the price. Plan to stay there on my return trip .
- Berry (6/5): - Only issue, room & Bed linens smelled like an ashtray. Asked for a non smoking room.
Other than that everything else was good!
- pappagene (6/5): On the way to New Orleans - Like our cruise out of New Orleans it was a last minute booking and we wanted inexpensive. This fit the bill for us. We left out of Knoxville, TN at about 2:30 after our church jobs were done. Meridian was a good 1/2 way place for us to stop. Got a good deal through our insurance company and decided that this was a good place to stop since we didn't need fancy. We didn't get fancy either. It was an older hotel and it showed it in many ways. First thing was that the bathtub had seen better days, I am sure that it was clean BUT it just didn't look inviting. We didn't need a shower so it was not used. Second, the exterior showed it's age. It was not nasty or dirty, just looked old. The room was clean and the bed was comfy for one nights stay. Breakfast was run of the mill waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal, juice and coffee. It was easy to get to from the interstate. Good jumping off place, just wouldn't stay there too much.
- DANNY (8/5): Rest Stop.... - Good rest stop for a weary traveler. Outstanding staff, outstanding location a great place.....
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bugs. Sweayy bed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Stay - The room was clean and the sheets were very comfortable. The room had a tv and fridge. The a/c was cold and refreshing!
- Taffie (8/5): It was okay - The water faucet knobs in both the bathtub & sink came off when I turned the water on.
- S (8/5): nice - We were just in town for the weekend and needed somewhere to sleep. The room was nice and clean. The only problem was the faucet for the sink was broken. Other than that it was just what we needed.
- linda (4/5): - The bathtub would not drain, there was no coffee for the pot, and the lamp was broken. The other guest above us kept calling us fat white people. Got woke up at 3 am with some one betting on the door. Not a good stay.
- Lee (2/5): Ashamed - My stay econo lodge in meridian ms was very dissapointed in I'm so upset about it
- Tammy (6/5): No smoking!!! - I booked a non smoking double weeks in advance only to be told that room was occupied. We had to take a smoking room. It smelled really bad. This was not good because I had an infant with me. Room was relatively clean (except for the nasty bedskirt). Staff was very friendly!
- Robert (6/5): Okay room but noisy - Older hotel. Room was literally 100 feet from the traffic on the interstate. Very noisy all night. Room smelled strongly of incense or sanitizer, but didn't notice it after a little while and it was clean. Fairly good breakfast - hard boiled eggs, cereal, bagels, juice, coffee.
- RICKY (2/5): Not good at all - Didn't stay here. Motel was not clean and the outside area did not look safe. I want mnney back please.
- Quaker0ats (6/5): not much here - This place is quite basic, and the front desk service at best was indifferent. I didn't need my phone ringing, with hang-up calls, every three hours all night. The front desk wasn't that interested, just dismissed it as some employee trying to call someone who probably checked out They didn't even apologize or show concern until finally agreeing that I didn't need the aggravation.
Breakfast was OK, just that.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a Happy Camper - Can't really say much about the overall experience since I showed up to check in & they told me their system was down & that it usually takes (this must be a regular occurrence) about two hours to come back up. After driving 16 hours straight, I was in no mood to wait two hours & so I went down the street & got a room at a Red Roof Inn.
- janw543 (6/5): Nice breakfast for a basic hotel - We were traveling after a long day and stopped at the Econo Lodge. The location is along the busy highway...as many are so we knew it would not be very quiet. Staff was pleasant and the room was okay. The location is in an area that we didn't feel comfortable walking to a restaurant but the people staying were friendly. The breakfast had alot of variety for a budget motel. Furnishings need upgrading.
- Laura (8/5): - Pleasant
- kay (10/5): great - We enjoyed an updated room that was very nice and comfortsble
- isaac (10/5): Continental breakfast - The continental breakfast could consist of more items; and definitely more seating for travelers. We were a party of nine, so some of us stood or waited for others; other guest parties had to do the same when we were in the small space.
- Alexuscash (2/5): Roaches - Worst experience ever!!! After seeing the second roach the third one ended up in the bed with me.. God is my witness!!! I hadn't slept all night.. I will never ever visit this hotel again.. Please run 🏃🏃🏃🏃
- Matt (6/5): Better than expected. - Busy area, lots of places to eat within 5 minutes of site. Better than I expected. Nothing fancy
- mindyh343 (2/5): Quick Stay - This was a horrible experience! I will always look in my pillows from now on. There was blood on the pillow! I went to front for a new pillow, it took 45 minutes later to get another one! Wasn't clean, people live there and were noisy! Was scared to stay. We finally left. Won't ever stay there again!
- wmjcameron (8/5): Good for a Budget Hotel - I'm glad that I didn't look at the recent reviews before we stayed here. First, understand that this is a budget motel. The room we were in, and the property in general appeared to be well maintained. The bed was comfortable for me, and the water pressure for a shower was excellent. Breakfast was standard to that offered by other Econo Lodges. Offered at breakfast was, bagels, danishes, two types of cold cereal, a variety of instant oatmeal, coffee, milk, apple and orange juice. Front desk staff weren't overly friendly, but they weren't rude to me.
- B2708EFjenniferh (2/5): no good - Get to the hotel about 10:30p.m. and check in and asked front desk if the cot I was promised after making reservation was in fact in my room, front desk was unaware and stated that they were sure if I was told it would already be in the room it would be so we get to the room and its not. So my lethargic toddler crawls in my bed after waiting so long for them to try and find me an available cot. About 30 minutes past and they finally bring us one....with wires coming out and the plastic covering is broke from being so old and worn. We make it work and get situated then we hear the water...from where we soon found out...... our neighbors above us showered and all the water was coming in through OUR ceiling in the bathroom...informed front desk...30 minutes late they brought maybe a 2 gallon bucket and stated they did not have any more available rooms on the 1st floor, so we had to stay. No refund, no discount, and most importantly no apology...never again.
- 868maryanner (2/5): Overnight - We checked in for a few hours sleep traveling from Phoenix to Charleston sc. The first room I discovered roaches and ants in the tub. My brother killed a spider on the wall at this time I told him to request a different room. I thought this room was a little better since I didn't see any other bugs and just needed a hot shower and sleep but now hours after check out I'm discovering that I have bed bugs bites all over my back, legs, arms, and forehead! I am very upset at this point because for the money I'm now having to pay for the dr, antibiotics, and creme I may as well had stayed at the holiday Inn express! Not to mention the middle of the night traffic and arguing. Stay clear of this place!
- 414ceew (2/5): Spend the extra and go... - Down the street to La Quinta, especially if you're allergic to black mold. The room seemed okay at first glance, so I brought my stuff inside and put my food in the fridge and proceeded to go into the bathroom. The tub made me wish I'd brought bathroom cleaner with me & the roach walking along the side of the tub made me wish I brought Raid. I plugged my laptop into the plug on the lamp between the two beds and turned the lamp on & noticed that nothing happened; I checked the lamp, it had no bulbs and was not plugged in. I pulled the nightstand out to plug it in & there was no outlet so I plugged it into the plug for the lamp by the window that comes on when you turn on the main light switch. That one worked so I chose the bed closest to it. I pulled the sheet back and found sheets that while clean, clearly had stains that were of a bodily fluid nature. I immediately switched beds and and plugged the laptop into the lamp by the TV; again nothing happened, it was also not plugged in, had no bulbs, and no outlet to plug it into. I found that last part out when I scooted the small dresser out to plug it in and found no outlet but trash from (presumably) the last people to stay in this room. I finally had to plug my laptop in to the plug by the bathroom sink. There was also no alarm clock or ashtrays; it was a smoking room and while I wouldn't be rude/careless enough to place my lit cigarette on someone's furniture, clearly I'm in the minority because there are burn marks on nearly every flat surface in this room. As far as the mold...I noticed when I went back into the bathroom that the toilet tank lid was askew and I though I might have bumped it and went to straighten it. When I picked up the lid I noticed that it and the tank itself seemed to be covered in black mold (it also couldn't be placed on the tank correctly, someone replaced the tank mechanism with a mechanism that was too tall for the tank so the lid won't fit; that could be the cause of what looked to be black mold.)
- Cajunfire40 (2/5): where's the nice room in the pictures? - I was there recently on February 26th, just staying overnight on my way to Louisiana. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The front desk personnel was very nice, but the room.....it was still cold at the time and we couldn't get the heat to work, the room wreaked of cigarette smoke (but it was a non-smoking room), and tucked behind the dusty coffee machine on the counter was a used "feminine product". That made me question the cleanliness of the entire place and for that reason, I would not even go near the breakfast there. It's unfortunate that a hotel chain so well-known has a location like this.
- rpaulm (2/5): In a dangerous neighborhood? - I rarely write terrible reviews, but this place had the worst hospitality of any motel I've been in. If you drive up after 6 pm you in effect are at a convenience store in a dangerous neighborhood. They will not let you in the lobby. You talk to a person who stands behind 3/4 inch bullet proof? plexiglass? He would not let us in. The next morning I asked the desk staff, who did let us in, if they'd had any staff injured in robberies. She said no. "But, why convenience store plexiglass?" She said, You can't tell what will happen. The room itself was econolodge basic, though the fridge and microwave did work fine. The bed was good enough. The parking lot in front was well-lit. The location is right on the frontage road of I20/59. If the owner of this property reads this review, please consider creating a more welcoming environment for your guests. We got this room because it was the cheapest in Meridian. I think it'd be worth $10-15 to be welcomed.
- 557reggieh (6/5): Could have been worse - It could have been a lot worse. The only thing that bugged me was the lack of electrical outlets, and frig didn't work. But, considering that they were having the homecoming for people that were raised there. It serviced the purpose.
- Georgiegurl15 (4/5): Room 205 - This room(205) was just ok......keeping in mind the cracked shower liner and the AC/Heater unit that made scary pop noises when it cycled off and a toilet that water ran off and on. Perhaps the owner could throw up a partition to block the spooky scene from the window and make some serious effort at maintaining their Lodge. Overall you get what you pay for!
- 534elizabeths (2/5): Awful just awful - First off checked in on Monday evening the sheets were dirty w/ black marks on them. Hotel clerk said they couldn't do anything til morning not even change the rooms. Then Tuesday evening came back to room things had been moved around. Called hotel clerk they didn't care. Wednesday evening came back to room furniture had been completely changed out! Clothes everywhere favorite hat missing and all my refrigerated food left on counter to spoil! Called hotel clerk and was told "Do not understand why you are mad". Really?!???? My things gone through, favorite hat missing and now I have no food for lunch or supper! I am supposed to be happy??? Was then told I had to talk to the manger after 7am for any complaints! So I called the corporate number for Choice Hotels and after finally talking to a supervisor was informed per their agreements with the individual owners of the hotels they could NOT file any complaints until a guest checks out! Until then you have to deal with the hotel clerk! And I still have another night in this hell hole!
- cbpilotcars (6/5): Just Average - Nothing special here! The one good thing is the rooms are clean. From there it goes downhill, the room I was in 116 looks like somebody kicked in the door and they try to salvage it up not a very good job! The overall cleanliness was good, but it was a nightmare when I went to take a shower, the shower head was despicable! It felt like it was shooting needles into me, and it was leaking all over the place! A small few repairs in this hotel to be ok. Breakfast was not ready at 6 a.m.! Innkeeper was asleep in the hotel lobby with the door locked.
- 3KatyG (4/5): Well, the breakfast was filling... - We got to the hotel and checked in. They don't follow ADA requests. I had requested a downstairs floor and got an upstairs floor. Had to drag my disabled roommate up the stairs. The room itself wasn't as bad as some of the reviews. It was clean, and the bed had fresh sheets. Didn't stink, but was definitely humid in there. Shower had a really bad caulking repair job in it. It looked like someone had shattered the tub and used caulk to fix it - but instead just made it worse. We were in 205, like the previous poster. Our TV remote worked, but the vent fan still didn't work in the bathroom. We ended up showering with the door open for ventilation. We discovered that the door to the room didn't close from the outside, only the inside, so when we left, we had to literally risk slamming our arms in the door to jiggle the handle from the inside. The view from the room overlooked another hotel and a building that was falling apart. They at least had a decent breakfast. Cereal, eggs, pastries. The eggs are hard-boiled, though. Look in the fridge - you'll see nothing but eggs in it. Overall, if you can afford somewhere else - go there.
- BillB516 (2/5): NEVER AGAIN - I made reservations one week in advance & asked for a ground floor unit, non-smoking. We were given a room that reeked of stale cigarette smoke & it was upstairs (no elevator). We are seniors and non-smokers so our stay got off to a bad start as soon as we opened the door & it was downhill from there. We were in room 205. The bathroom vent fan was broke & the TV remote did not work. This comes in 3rd place as the worst experience we have had during our travels.
