Guest Reviews
- Anonymous (8/5): Good -
- Kelly (1/5): I didn’t stay they wanted more money. - Nothing Clerk said she didn’t have my reservation . When I showed her the confirmation email she refused to honor the quoted price. So we left.
- Miller (10/5): Exceptional -
- Collins (10/5): Made the trip to Dallas very nice. - Very clean and nice. Good people.
- Diana (1/5): Bad - Roaches and rude woman checking me in around 2:30 am after packing my house up in a moving truck all week.
I was hoping for a clean room that I could get some rest and take a shower in the morning.
Walk in to the room roach by the sink, I slept with my clothes on top of the bed and left at 9:00 am because I felt rested enough to drive again on my way to Arizona.
It had been a long short week closing on my house in Kansas, packing all my belongings on to a truck I’m sure I looked like a homeless person, the woman was rude, I reserved a non-smoking room traveling with my pet Beagle.
Not pet friendly at all.
Got into the room and had ash trays and the smell of smoke was heavy. My throat is still not right.
Attaching the pick of the roach by the sink.
I truly need a refund on this I have never requested such a thing but I was exhausted, low on cash and it was 2:30 am.
- Kathy (7/5): It was good for the price - Cheapest and friendly desk lady It was ok
- Kendra (1/5): Bad - Nothing The hostest was rude and disrespectful towards me and my two service dogs. She argued and basically called me a liar about my dogs being registered even though I had paperwork to prove it. She also charged me for my dogs as if they were just normal pets. I would not stay here ever again or even recommend this motel to anyone traveling with service animals.
- Mary (1/5): Sorry we made a reservation & stayed - The staff was friendly The paint was peeling off the wall in bathroom, no Wi-Fi, the shower was difficult to turn on, hard pillows, very little toilet paper, towels were thin & worn, very little maintenance. The place was old & was not kept neat
- 681jimmiew (8/5): Clean, comfortable - This is an older motel, all rooms ground floor. We stayed in 29 and it was clean. The tub had marks which initially looked dirty but turned out to be deposits from the hard water (hot water practically instantly.) Bed was firm but not hard, 5 pillows made adjustments easy. Fridge was very cold, microwave worked properly and the TV had 600 + channels,(not all of them working). The little 1 cup coffee maker worked, as well. Ice machine was in working order. US 54 is a very busy highway so I was grateful for the window unit (which had a fan only function) and the vent fan in the bathroom to muffle the noise. Glad I didn't read the many negative reviews from past years; wouldn't have given it a chance. We saved about $10 off of what the chains were charging. Motels seem very high priced in this little cow town (a flyswatter was furnished, we had to use it once.) Sign said continental breakfast but "due to supply issues" they didn't have anything.
- chriscO5954TH (2/5): Never been thrown out of a hotel before. - Ashley checked us in on Sunday 2nd July 2023. She was polite. She said I could park my vehicle with small trailer along the building next to the dog park, which we did outside room # 55. She then came over to turn on the breaker switch because the plugs, fridge and TV on the wall did not work. She saw where we parked and said nothing. The owner then came over and rudely demanded we move our car. I explained that Ashley had told us we could park there and had seen us parked there and that there were lots of parking spots available - we had taken two spots with our vehicle and trailer. The owner got very belligerent and argumentative with my wife and I and then said she was going to call the police, which she did. The police arrived and asked us to leave the hotel. The policeman was very professional and courteous and explained this was not the first time this has happened at the Regency Inn. I then went over to the office to get refunded. We had paid $141.25 for the room including for our two dogs. The owner refunded us $70.62 and kept the balance (50%) arguing that we had showered (which we had not), used a soap (which we had). I refused to sign the refund receipt so the owner refused to give me my credit card back. The policeman informed the owner that she could not make me sigh the receipt and that she had to give me my credit card back, which she then did. We drove down the road and booked into the LaQuinta and had a great evening. On Monday 3rd July I called the Regency Inn and spoke to the owner because my refund had not been processed. The owner accused me of discriminating against her, told us not to call back and hung up the phone. I reported this to the Dulhart PD the same day. I also emailed the Regency Inn the same day and said I would report this to the police as it was theft. On Thursday 6th July the $70,62 refund posted in my account. Basically the owner stole our money under the color of blue by getting the police involved to throw us out after an argument she initiated so that she could rob us. Stay there at your own peril.
- Arturo (2/5): Nasty - What do you mean like? Everything
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing - Could back up to room to unload False claim of offering senior discount and breakfast. Very unfriendly lady at check in.
- Kieth (4/5): I will not be back. - ease of access not as advertised. No senior discount. No morning breakfast, as advertised. Rude desk help.
- Michael (5/5): Passable -
- G5308UGelisem (2/5): Nope - The room 54 we had was disgusting and I would NOT recommend. It's very dirty, no one cleaned up after whoever else was there last. The blankets sucked, big water ringlets in the ceiling with a hole, and the shower was gross with cracks around the frame of the shower and tub, there dark spots all over where the hand towels are next to the sink. And coffee spills on the wall. It's bad. I'm pist. Not worth $115.00 a night.
- Lara (2/5): I just needed to sleep n go. I would not choose this hotel to stay if I didn't have to. - I didn't really like it the room. It was dirty seems like people who clean only make the beds n just pick up. The cleaniness was a turn down.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - The manager was extremely nice and helpful.
- Donald (7/5): Good -
- Pamela (8/5): Very good - The staff was very nice even Echo ...the bed was comfortable. Room was nice it even had a table with two chairs to seat and eat instead of sitting on the bed. It said it had breakfast and it didn't...The bathroom only had one big towel ..the shower head was coming out of the wall. But honestly it was a great stay.
- Ronda (8/5): Very good -
- Harry (8/5): Very good -
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad -
- Gordon (1/5): Bad - Not much. My husband when checking in was required to provide a credit card but the proprietors insisted he tell them our pin so they could put it into the machine. They were adamant they had to input all data. As a consequence they have our credit card number, the 3 digit number on the back of the card and our pin number. It was late and we were exhausted so he reluctantly complied after objecting. We felt like we were robbed.
- Suzann (9/5): Superb -
- Cristy (3/5): Poor -
- B6009AKscottc (8/5): Good stay - Good stay but a little pricey for this level of hotel, $105+ tax. Room was clean and bed was comfortable and the water was hot. They advertised breakfast but did not serve it due to "a short of supplies." I found other businesses locally who were having the same problem. I would definitely stay here again.
- DaninMesa (6/5): OK for the money - Our room was clean, parking ample and staff friendly. I do have a problem with places incorrectly advertising amenities. There was no breakfast do to "Supply Issues" really?? The pool looked like it was closed a long time. TripAdvisor should remove properties with incorrect information.
- FarAway726327 (2/5): Tried to book in person - On April 3, 2022 we tried to check in and the front desk insisted that my husband give her his PIN number on his visa. He of course refused. She said unless he did she would not give him a room!!!! This is unacceptable as she could then use his visa. Our bank says "Make sure you do the following to keep your PIN secret:
never share your PIN with another person, not even a family member or partner!!
We of course booked elsewhere as we have never been asked to divulge a pin number at any hotel. I would not stay here as it is very questionalble!!!!
- WesternNEfamily (4/5): Don’t do it. Not worth whatever they happen to charge you… - The room looked appealing initially, but after moving in it was clear there were issues like a cracked bathtub, non-working door knob for the bathroom, a flickering light in the bathroom, and a huge stain on the ceiling. Ok, Not a chain motel, but when we dropped the key off in the morning and told the man at the desk the issues, his reply was, “Yeah, I know.” No “we’re working on it” or “sorry about that.” Please people, just give up. I’ll never stay there again.
- Oshea1950 (2/5): Clean room, horrible staff! - Overall, I should have completed more due diligence on previous reviews from various sources (Trip Advisor, Google, Booking, etc..). The woman/owner at the check in desk was beyond rude as evidenced by her general attitude and not pleasant to deal with. My spouse dealt with her as I am significantly hearing impaired disabled veteran. The woman reported that she didn't receive our booking.com reservation and even when given evidence via an e-mail, she discounted it. This woman move so slowly and appeared to be pretty passive aggressive with respect to customer service, but we did get a room and the hotel never filled up anyway that night. Matter of fact-it appeared half empty. Room was clean, dated, but I would not recommend that anyone stay here based upon the attitude of the staff. Please take your time and review previous review sources and you will find that our experience is not the first, nor will it be the last. The woman is unprofessional and doesn't deserve anyone's business. Keep on going down the road and do not give them your money.
- cczech2016 (10/5): A Thankful Haven - Experiencing a mechanical breakdown on our vehicle, we had to spend the night in Dahlhart, TX. The Rodeway Inn was next to the repair shop. This was the cleanest and neatest motel that we have stayed with in a long time. Rooms were neat and clean ( smelled freshly cleaned). The breakfast area was basic but bright and felt really welcoming and homey. I knew that they took careful care of their motel when I saw the huge philodendron plant that covered the entire coffee table in the lobby. The owner cleans each leaf with baby oil because it is so windy and dust in their area.
- CindyMagg (2/5): Worst Front Desk Person I've EVER encountered.. - When making the reservation thru Choice Privileges Program I knew I wasn't getting the Ritz Carlton, I am fine with that. One night, passing thru Texas. On a whole, the hotel was not bad, yes it is dated but it was clean and comfortable. Now he reason for one point (I would do no point if available). We arrived at 4pm. The parking lot was empty. I went to the front desk and told the woman I had reservations and showed her my printed out confirmation. She got on her computer and immediately started "tsking". Then said "how did you get this rate, this is no rate, how am I suppose to make any money when you pay this"... She continues to process my check in but is complaining the entire time. I asked her about wifi she just points at a little business card size sign.. While she continues I look up my confirmation on my phone thinking maybe something is wrong and she comes back at me with "what, you looking for a cheaper rate, isn't this cheap enough, you expecting a better deal?" I was stunned.. She then handed over one key (which is fine, but I am usually asked). She then said "you bring back this key in the morning, don't you leave it in the room". I walked out absolutely stunned.. Who says these things?? So first thing this morning I returned the key, no one at the front desk so I just stood there ringing the little bell until she came our of the back.. I handed her the key and asked her her name... Lucia.. I guess she doesn't have a last name.. Needless to say, I won't be passing thru there again, ever.
- koalas2016 (4/5): Cleanish room, everything else kind of sucked - Front desk woman was rude, and uninterested in moving faster than a dead snail. Normally speed doesn't bother me, but it was 8pm and I had 2 screaming kids in the car, but she was...really not interested in getting anything done. She then complained about the rate I got and told me I must have lied when I got the hotel. There was basically NO WI-FI, the tv was weird and annoying. The room was mostly clean feeling, but not really where you want to spend the night if you don't have to. Beds were okay, but overall, this is a miss. If it wasn't already way past DONE with everyone in the car we would have packed up and found somewhere else, and screw the reservation. We travel this way 3x a year and definitely crossing this off my list of available stays.
- TLCatTX (8/5): Welcoming stay - After driving for hours looking for a hotel we saw the billboard in town and called & they were the only ones that had a room. We were hesitant but tired so decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprise. Our room was clean & smelled good, the people working the front desk were nice and welcoming, Wi-Fi worked good & the free breakfast was filling. We would stay here again.
- Likes2B-practical (4/5): Getting Old - We have stayed here many times over the years. However it is really getting dated and old. I will say that is is VERY clean and the bed was comfortable. However our door did not quite close and it let in hot air or flies etc. Room 40. The sheets and pillowcase are this and yellowed. I am sure they are clean but not very appealing. The breakfast is very minimum. the coffee wasn't very good and the "orange juice" is some drink mix. I think we will look for another place to stay in Dalhart even if it is costs more.
- davidmC3763LR (8/5): Good place to stay - The room was nice, AC worked fine, water was hot, quiet inside the room, other clientele were not trashy, bed was comfortable. I read a review or two that claimed the lady at the desk was rude but I didn't find that to be true. Sometimes you have to be patient with someone who speaks English as a second language. Only thing was I was short of a bath towel which she furnished as soon as I asked. Would definitely stay again. For the price it is a good deal.
- 803lindah803 (2/5): Rude reception - At 10PM after a long journey the woman at the desk was rude and unwelcoming. The room was cold and after turning the loud blower fan on to warm it up we went to bed. I wore my winter jacket to bed because there was but one thin blanket and we couldn't sleep with the loud fan on. In the morning we had one bath towel between us and the breakfast cereal and bread tasted old. The coffee was watered down.
- JMD1958 (8/5): Trip to and from AZ - We stopped here on our way to AZ for the night. Again, easy on easy off access to the road....We like to stay at a place where you can park your car in front so you don't have to haul the luggage far. This fits the bill :)
- marksalida (8/5): Good place - I just stopped in here on my way passing through. I hadn't stayed at a Rodeway Inn in a long time. The room was a little pricey, but it was a nice room and quiet. The rooms are big with m/w and fridge and a table big enough for four to eat at. Very Clean.
- ChachaBearTot (2/5): Run to another hotel. We had made reservations and when we got to the hotel she did not have it . - Run to another hotel. We had made reservations and when we got to the hotel she did not have our reservation. She had rooms with twin beds but she said we had made a reservation for a king so we would have to pay again and we would not get our money back because it was past cancellation time. We also could only use one of the full size beds and my husband kicks so that was not going to work. We was on the phone trying to explain to Choice Hotels what was going on and she ask us to leave. That we were bothering her. Then when choice called her and told her she had to give us a room when my husband was going to sign the paper work she started chewing him out, talking very rudley to him and that's when we just left. It was not worth given her out credit card,no telling what she would have charged on it. We would rather lose our money on national company's sight then deal with her. We were there over an hour trying to get the problem fixed. We went to Days in next door. The lady was wonderful and told us we were not the only one that had came in from next door. So buyer beware if you book a hotel make sure it's not this one!
- loverofsunTexas (6/5): Only a stop over on our way to Colorado - Stopped here for 1 night. Usha was very nice. I thought the pet fee would be included in our room fee but I had to pay $10 cash? Not sure why it couldn't run on my card. The pet run was nasty. People do not clean up after their dogs. Room was okay, nothing special. Breakfast was a good variety but Usha's husband was like the breakfast Nazi. He followed behind me showing me what I needed to use to get the waffles out n everytime I picked something up he was right behind me cleaning up. My husband went in later & it happened to him also. We are not messy people, but I felt like I was. We probably will try another hotel next time.
- 830fredw (6/5): Clean with an Attitude - Arrived late on the way back to home from Colorado. The fun was over and we were southbound at a high rate of speed.
At the check in desk the lady seemed to dislike the way I filled out the little check in card. Why do they still use them anyway? They have everything they need on the computer reservation.
Found our king room to be clean well maintained and quiet. We went straight to the bed as tomorrow would be the final dash to the Dallas area and home. Woke early after a good night’s sleep. Drove the car up to the office area and took advantage of the well stocked continental breakfast complete with the Texas shaped Belgian waffle maker.
The place was a good motel stop, but the staff left the impression with me of my days in Navy boot camp. You had best follow the RULES.
