Guest Reviews
- Michelle (2/5): Don't do it - I have no problem staying in older, economical motels. Just having your car outside your door is nice. And honestly, all you need is a shower and a nice bed, a TV. This place had none. And it was much more than just dirty. It was neglected. I moved the desk away from the wall, where I found a circa 1990 cable, it's connection had been twisted off years ago. The dust bunnies were stuck in a build-up of spilled goo. There were several flies in the room, but the spiders took care of that problem. It didn’t seem unsafe, the property was fenced, I'm assuming it kept the crime away from the decent neighborhood nearby. The 3 a.m. screaming match in the room next door spilled out into the parking lot, and I've actually learned some trending cuss words.
If you are reading this, thinking you'd like to go to the casino, it's the closest motel and really, you only need a shower and a bed, don't do it.
- Amy (2/5): Roach infested - We walked into our room and there were roaches crawling all over. We left within ten minutes and the man on duty couldn't help us, said we needed to call and talk to the manager about a refund who we could not get ahold of. Do not stay here!
- Yonathan (6/5): Spend a few extra coins - The hotel got the job done because I needed somewhere to sleep for the Ohio State game. But I would not choose this particular one again. Its dated, and the room I had, the television did not work. The walls were paper thin and you could here the locals all night. Plus a $100 deposit for this location is absurd. Save yourself some time and spend a few extra coins for another hotel.
- Angela (2/5): Don't Book a room there - Never got to stay there they wouldn't except my ID on my phone and fighting for a refund
- Aaron (10/5): - Nothing
- Timothy (2/5): - Hotel had full power afgee but front desk claimed he couldnt check anyone in. Property Beyond ridiculous and unacceptable in 2025 that a hotel has an outdated system with no power backup. It took nearly 2 hours to find a new hotel, because Expedia customer service was so slow. The only saving grace was a feeling of this property being in a very unsafe secluded area off the highway. Terrible all around experience.
- Gregory (10/5): - Comfortable beds n pillows
- Matthew (2/5): - Bad accessibility, no elevator all shaking metal stairs
- Xochilt (2/5): - Staff was rude when requesting extra towels and toilet paper.
The staff left used lotion on the counter. Instead of discarding what was already used, they just left the used one there.
There was hair in the shower all over the soaps.
- Erica (2/5): Ghost reservation - If negative stars were an option I’d go there. Even though my reservation was paid and confirmed for, the front desk associate was unable to find my reservation and couldn’t was hard to understand due to his thick accent. The rules page on the desk had half the words spelt incorrectly and the space seemed unorganized. The desk associate also didn’t offer and assistance into finding us another place to stay. Even if they were full, I would’ve appreciated him to tell me and not have to ask. And also giving recommendations for places close by. Never booking an Econo Lodge again!
- jason (2/5): - The room was dirty, the bedding was stained and had hair on them. When informing the front desk no action was taken.
- Claude (6/5): - Breakfast bar in the pics but none there, and the coffee machine was out of order. Great location and rooms were solid though.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Older property that has had some updating.
The door on my unit had additional security protection added that made the door stick and a little difficult to open.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was decent for the price, but there were cigarette burns among other things on the bedding. The deposit is $100 and not $50 as stated on the website and after several days has not been returned to me so I'd pay that in cash
- Michael (10/5): - Room was clean and quiet. Heater worked well. I’m very pleased with my stay
- johnhX876CV (2/5): Horrific, at best. - I was promised a first floor room when I booked by phone. When I got to Econo Lodge I was told by the manager that "they're not available." It was imperative that I stay on the first floor suite due to badly arthritic knees. The manager showed no sympathy or concern about my special needs. The room was dingy. The wooden floor was splintered. I minorly cut my foot walking barefoot upon it. I stayed 2 days. One no came while I was away to tidy up or to replenish towels, and change sheets. I nearby fell in the dimly lit, loosely fitting railed, staircase, trying to carry 4 pieces of luggage up and down the steps. I strongly feel every cent of my hotel bill should refunded to me. Twenty years ago, this was a well maintained, pleasant and cosy place to book a stay. I would not ever recommend this hotel to even my worst enemies.
- Jamal (2/5): - Terrible area, dirty rooms. I kept on itching all night and I felt as though bugs were crawling on my skin. I would’ve not minded the poor customer service if they kept a clean facility.
- Christ (2/5): Never again - My person showed up and they said the reservation was no good. We had to purchase another room. The desk clerk was very rude and not much to say for a personality. Refused to allow my driver to take or make a call in the office. Would not only not recommend this place, but would recommend people NOT to go there..
- Jodi (8/5): - Didnt have a good tv service. Only a few channels came in
- Andrea (2/5): - The room was filthy and roaches were everywhere. The ceiling above the bed, the phone, the tub, the toilet, the floor, the bed. When Spike to front desk they were rude and disrespectful. Do not stay here
- Josue (10/5): - I liked everything
- Alex (6/5): - Bed was small. Ordered a queen bed it was barly a full size. I rolled off in the middle of the night. And i bet im not the first person to do so. The night stands are on the other side of the room so that you dont hit your head. Lots of bugs in the room. Looked like cockroach.
- Karl (2/5): - This was a strategic location during a bike ride. It was filthy. Even the tap water to fill my water bottle was brown. I reserved rooms with 2 beds and was told day of arrival they only had single bed rooms. Didn't care about our needs. Spend a few more dollars and be happy someplace else.
- Angela (6/5): Two stars for micowave - They didnt have a room available when I arrived at 2 pm, which I understood. I told the clerk I would not be back until after midnight. When I returned, the night clerk asked me about my earrings and why do I have more than one piercing? He asked me if i was staying in the room alone in a professional manner, but it felt creepy. He gave me wrong directions to my room. Then I discovered a bit later that he had neglected to return my ID. I had to go ask for it. It was still in the copy machine. The room could use a good scrub. If that dirt doesnt scrub off, then the doors and frames need to be replaced and the walls painted. I did not sleep between the sheets because they were soiled. The only good thing about the hotel is the location next to the freeway and a Waffle House. Go see Angie!
- Warren (10/5): - Reasonable, comfortable place with good access and friendly atmosphere
- Virginia (10/5): - Very clean!
- Martha (10/5): Ohio - Great
- Clyde (10/5): - Gas station in nearby... McDonald's and Waffles house in walking distance.. inexpensive and clean.
- Pamela (6/5): - Handicap shower not draining properly. Flooded bathroom and area outside bathroom.
- Angela (2/5): Awful - Room was very nasty..blood on the walls
Microwave didn't work
Service was poor & rude
- Lucretia (2/5): Terrible - No heat, not clean, no extra blankets, nasty tub, didn’t look at all like pics on website.
- Margie (4/5): It was not a pleasure to stay here - I will never stay at this hotel again. I gave it to benefit of the doubt because it was nasty weather when I checked in I did not want to go anywhere else.
- Jeff (2/5): - Burn holes in the sheets blood stain on sheets and heater didnt work on new year's
- LauraJean Oliva (2/5): - Did not like the cobditin of ghe oroperty, the room was in terribke shape, shower was so bad I didn't use it, non smoking room snelli g if smoke with cigarette burns all over. Pruce was ridiculous fir what we received.
Had night table lamp at dink becayse light dudnt work. Will never use Econolodge ever again.
- Calvin (2/5): - Cigarette burns in the sheets, we actually went to Meijer after our concert & bought two king size blankets to cover the bed. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The shower was peeling, we almost checked out & went somewhere else. Disgusting
- Verified traveler (4/5): Stay away from this place - It's a really sketchy place. First if you don't pay super close attention, you might easily miss the entrance, and turn in onto the highway. There's no extra staff besides the front desk. In case you need help, she just declined unapologetically. The chain lock is missing at least for my room. If not for the cheaper price, definitely not worth staying at all.
- Monisha (2/5): - I understand I got the room at a discounted price but that hotel sucked. Order a smoking room and switched to non smoking because the sheets and blankets had burn holes in them. The floors were dirty and all I heard was police helicopters all night. So not happy!!!!
- Robert (2/5): Never again - The room was filthy, the bathroom stunk, the tub was disgusting, i would not even think of using it. The fridge and microwave were dirty. The chair at the desk had something all over it. It was unacceptable
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don't stay here! - Trash all over parking lot, halls and stairs. Paint peeling off the shower walls, door into bathroom missing half its paint, metal door frame covered in rust. Cigarette burns in the blankets, outlets 9 feet up the wall, furniture had melted wax on top of it. Kids running up and down the halls continued. Awnings over office falling to the ground and taped off. Out right DISGUSTING!!
- Carl (4/5): Try another hotel. - Hotel needs update. Room was clean. Peeling ceiling paint. Tub/shower enclosure peeling coating. Exterior of building is being repainted and entrance canopy is being repaired. Rooms in serious need of refurbishment. No coffee or breakfast.
- Katrina (2/5): - They needed to upgrade and exterminate..also they wouldn’t allow me to switch rooms
- Erika (2/5): - Who doesn't love to pay almost $100 for a room with a bathroom that looked dirty, shower rod broken so curtain doesnt stay closed, chore on the bed and roaches....yay!
- Roger W (2/5): - The bathtub had mold in it. The bed had bedbugs, and there were limited restaurant choices close by. I should get a refund because of the bedbug bites.
- Maria (4/5): Poor customer service - The room was adequate but the front desk questioned me as to if I would be staying in the room. When I said yes, they asked if I would be there all day. No, I said I worked. They said they "didn't want me in and out"
On the day of check out they started calling at 9:00 to say what time are you leaving. I said check out is 11:00. They said "Can you leave now so we can clean?" when I said not they called every 20 minutes to ask if I was leaving yet.
- Amanda (2/5): Horrible - I booked my room through hotels.com and was supposed to pay cash on arrival. I arrived after work and driving an hour at 4am only for the clerk to tell me there were no rooms that i need to contact hotels.com and get my money back because they charged my bank card. I then drove around until 5am looking for another vacancy and ended up paying double what my already booked room was. Now i have to try to figure out how to get my money back. The clerk was absolutely rude and offerd zero resolution as he walked away from the window and left me in the lobby.
- Debra (10/5): - It was a convenient place for my husband and I to get away for a night. The place was easy to get to. It was quiet. The only thing I noticed was the bathroom needed some maintenance. So other than some repairs I have no complaints. It was also clean. That's is a big one for me. I can over look repairs and even if I go somewhere and have other issues if it's clean I can deal with the rest.
- Otis (2/5): Never stay here - Dirty room bathroom smelled no fridge people yelling outside used blankets and blood on walls grossest place ever!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): DaJazzy1! - It was easy to book online the room was nice and clean everything worked microwave fridge phone cable tv all perfect!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very dirty and smelled bad. Ceiling and walls in terrible shape. Stay somewhere else.
- Tracy (2/5): - No breakfast even though website said free breakfast. Facilities not maintained and very rough looking. Shower looked dirty. No one at desk to check out.
- Tim (2/5): Very dirty and disgusting - The place was disgusting, the tiles on floor were coming up, some missing. No security lock on door. No hot water. 2 very thin pillows for a king size bed.
- Stacey (2/5): Not even what we paid for - It was horrible. The drain in the bathroom tub did not work, the smell in the room was awful, the door jam was broken and sticking out plus there was dirt everywhere in the bathroom. At $84 a night I would expect cleanliness at least.
- Shaie (10/5): - Good place to spend time with shops around thanks 😊
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The smoking room was just crappy holes on blanket bathroom dirty walls looked dirty
- Jose (8/5): It is what it is!! - It is what it is you get what you pay for!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Additional information - I had one major issue. I paid for the room before arriving and upon checking in the clerk had me sign and issued me the key without asking for my credit card. I figured this was because it was on file. Later at 1045pm I was notified of an additional charge. The next day I spoke to the manager who stated that a deposit was charged and that their policy states this. I let him know that the clerk did not let me know that is was going to be charged later that night and their posted policy does not state that it will be charged late, after check in. Some hotels that have a deposit policy don’t charge customers who prepay so it should have been stated upfront during check in. He acted as if what I said made no sense and that it doesn’t matter when it clearly does. Overall, you get what you pay for but I need all the information upfront—no surprises!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Place was poorly maintained, not enough parking, room key didn’t work straight away and room door was hard to open
- ronaldm106 (10/5): trip stop - easy acess, highly visible from highway. clean room, bath area clean ,beds comfortable, pillows need upgraded. restaurants nearby, walking distance. well lit at night. breakfast wrst part,,wouldn't call it anything more than coffee with snack.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Rundown - The rooms smelled bad. In both the rooms I stayed in over the weekend, the floors were buckeled and the blankets had burn holes from smokers. In room 108 the bath tub was peeling and the main window curtain was ripped. I have seen better places for that price.
- Jerome (2/5): Steer clear of this place! - This place is the absolute pits. We did not feel safe in this hotel. The clerk speaks to you from behind bulletproof glass, like in a bank. Bathtub was filthy. Cigarette burns on the bedspreads. No towels in the room, and I had to go get them from the front counter myself. Mini-fridge leaked a puddle of water onto the floor tile which was buckled from having this happen over and over again. I received no response when I reported this to the front counter person. The so-called free breakfast was a joke. I will NEVER stay at another Econolodge in my life. I learned a lesson, that you get what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room furnitures was worn down. Room was semi clean but I wasn’t expecting much.
- Cheryl (2/5): - Not a clean hotel. Service was terrible. Couldn’t get no more than two towels a day. Had to ask for toilet paper. Will never stay in another Econo Lodge EVER!!!!
- Karoline (4/5): Not the best stay. - Room was dirty and the breakfast was very lacking. The parking was not great. The bed was not comfortable. It is located conveniently near the highway. Overall, not a great experience at all.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room wasn't very clean. Blankets had holes in them. We asked for more pillows and they gave us a little throw pillow
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our sheets appeared clean and we did not see any bugs on the bed or floors. However this room was not clean. The walls, outlet covers, inside of the refrigerator, light covers and floors were dirty. I have been in quite a few different hotels and was disappointed with the cleanliness. The hotel staff for check in and check out were noce enough. We did not meet any of the cleaning staff. This was a smoking room and as expected smelled like cigarette smoke. The air conditioner worked. The toilet did not work well. There was a plunger in the bathroom. The television and remote worked. We did not put anything away and only slept there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting - The bathroom was disgusting, the toilet and tub were not clean. Dirt and who knows what else on the floors. The beds had pubic hair in them. Slept on top of the covers with my own blanket. Did not trust taking anything out of our bags. It's an econo lodge wasn't expecting 5 stars, but at least a clean bed and bathroom. Way over priced. Over $200 for 2 nights, and didn't even feel comfortable enough to take a shower. Left after the first night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was quiet. Nice tv clean sheets and towels. No bedbugs. The bathroom was filthy. Tub not clean. Bottom of toilet and bath floor and door were filthy. Had to sponge bath because I wasn’t going near that dirty tub. Wasn’t dusted. No coffee pot in the room. Dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling over the bed. Would not stay here again. I don’t typically rate or complain anything but they need to get it together at this disgusting place. The walls were dirty as well. At least there wasn’t carpeting or I would not have stayed at all and taken the loss
- Jessie (8/5): Clean and nice - Clean and nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - room is clean, the devices work good but poor breakfast
- Marc (6/5): No early check in - Room was clean, however check in was an issue. I chose the motel, because they allowed early check-in. But when I arrived at 1pm I was told I couldn't check-in till 3pm. Very annoying.
- Emma (4/5): - There were burn holes all over the blanket
- tammyBaltimore_Md (4/5): Terrible customer service (morning staff) - Came into hotel around noon, immediately told "your rooms not ready", didn't even know who I was but I was one step in front of them, seeing which rooms were empty, finally after I called them out I was then able to check in.
Saw there was no toilet paper at all and missing towels, told GM this n he promised he'd take care of it. Hours later NOTHING done, new staff extremely nice provided everything that the day guy never followed up on.
Breakfast consists of dry muffins and cereal.
Room is spacious and bed comfortable but doesn't make up for the TERRIBLE customer service.
- Beverly (4/5): Never again. - No coffee maker, when asked clerk he said all rooms not required to have. Asked if we could get one and he said no. My nieces also had a room. Had to go buy cleaning supplies because it was nasty. Woke up in middle of the night by an alarm, looks like room under us was broken into.
- Javier (2/5): The room comes with pets lots of bed bugs. - Bed bug infested rooms
- Mark (2/5): STAY AWAY! OVERPRICED AND FILTHY!! - I will start out with the positives. First, the room had a refrigerator which was a must for our trip in order to keep medication cold. Second, the beds were very comfortable. Now to the bad. The area is not great. The motel and room were just completely filthy. Just walking in made us want to shower. However, not in the shower in the room because the tub would not stop running even when the water was turned off. The toilet was extremely slow to flush and the handle had to be held down until completely flushed. Had we not been driving all day, we would have gone someplace else. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
- Binod (2/5): Not worthy - Found lots flies in the room
Engineering problem, bathroom lock is from outside
Room is very dirty
No lift
No refill breakfast items
Not worth for money
- Verified traveler (4/5): Terrible access - Completely missed turn to get to hotel thanks Google, creepy people living at hotel who were very loud . Floor in room was in bad condition, no lock on door in room. Would not recommend this hotel
- Rivkah (10/5): Nice room - The room was clean. The floor wasn’t carpet and was really nice. The room was spacious. The towels were nice and big. It was also nice to have a smoking room in such nice condition.
- Steven (6/5): Boring - Tub kept leaving
- Jonathan (8/5): Solid overall - It was pretty solid, bathroom wasn't the greatest, but other than that, I liked it. It was quiet and no one bothered me, which was nice. Being next to I-70 was convenient.
- iain_titan (10/5): Perfect - I stayed in the econo lodge downtown in Columbus Ohio, great customer service from the lady who checked me in, debroah I believe her name was, she even called the room to make sure the room was ok
Great location, I was only there for an event at nationwide arena, it was a 25 minute straight walk from the hotel which was ideal. There was also a bus service too and a short Uber ride away.
Room was very clean, no issues
Would definitely use this place again!
- Mindy (8/5): ... - Room was nice. Clean and the bed was super comfy! The bathroom was clean but the walls in it were damaged. Falling a part behind the door and near the tub. The bathroom door itself was also full of holes and broken on the bottom. My mother nor myself felt comfortable enough to shower. But all in all it was fine. We have to go back later this year and so far we plan on staying there again.
- Yaritza (2/5): Do not stay there not worth your money - Customer Service was terrible I stayed 8/7/17 and then 8/8/17 My first night I paid for a double queen bed room but on my second night I accidentally purchased on hotels.com a one king bed room that was 10$ less The lady from te front desk called my room useing a loud tone and demanded I paid the difference because I had no idea what she was taking about I went to the front lobby and she continued to speak to me agitated and rude I then explained to her that it was 11:17 she could still switch me to a one king bed room she refused then I told her she was being very difficult and rude and I wanted to know her name and call a number to complaint she walked away and left me alone in the front. I will never stay there again and the breakfast is cheap cereal bagels and orange juice there is nothing else they offer Very disappointed!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I HAD TO SWITCH TO A NON SMOKING ROOM BUT IT STILL SMELLED OF SMOKE. THE SHEETS WERE VWRY THIN AND NOT VERY CLEAN.
- michaelsA733GH (2/5): Worst hotel I've ever stayed at - VERY RUDE customer service. Roof leaks very bad. Beds uncomfortable, holes in walls and ceilings. Holes in the walls in the bathroom, very creepy. Very poorly kept hotel with worse attitude from employees. I recommend that you run away from this one. You're better off sleeping in some parking lot than this hotel.
- TheMesserFamily (2/5): RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN! SERIOUSLY!!! - I don't even know where to start! I'm a positive person and try to see the good in everything, often giving people and situations the benefit of the doubt and I went against my gut feeling on this one! Upon first seeing the property as we drove by, I could see it was SUPER sketch, run down and dirty. There was trash and fast food strewn and smashed around the parking lot and you could tell it had been there a very long time. We also noticed a police officer driving around the property. When I checked in, it was late afternoon. The lady at the front desk was VERY rude and acted like I was wasting her precious time. We opened the door to our room and it smelled horribly and was super stuffy. I cranked the air, hoping it would help. We dropped our bags in the room and left since we had an event to attend. We got back to the hotel around midnight. There was a young man in his late teens/early 20's leaning against the building. We parked and stayed in our car, gathering our belongings and noticed the man walking towards us. Before he got to our passenger side he quickly turned towards the car next to us, touching the windshield. We found this odd, but went ahead and gathered our stuff. As we opened our car doors, he quickly went to the bottom of the stairwell we had to walk up, blocking it. As I got up to him, I said hi and asked him how he was doing. He replied with a mumble and I said "excuse me", and we ran passed him, squeezing behind him. We got to our room and one of us went to use the bathroom and noticed the bathroom door wouldn't shut without great force to get passed the toilet (it was right next to the door and no room to shut it). I pulled the sheets back on the bed and noticed a lot of dark specks. I started brushing them off and decided to get a better look since my eyes aren't what they use to be. I turned the flashlight on my phone, then decided to take a picture so I could zoom in on it. I was horrified when I could see it was a bug! I pulled the sheets back further, only to see there were MORE black specks. There were also short, course hairs like from a cat. I got totally grossed out and called the front desk. A very pleasant worker, named Mary helped me. She said she would send someone right up to check it out. About 15 minutes later, there was a very LOUD, startling pounding on our door. We were afraid to open it because of the young man from earlier, but we did. There was an older man standing there, looking to his left (never looking me in the face), mumbling that he "didn't have time for this, it was ridiculous and it is 12:30 in the morning". I lead him to the bed and showed him the specks and my picture zoomed in of the bug. He kept saying it was no big deal, all hotels have bugs, that we were complaining about nothing and he didn't have time for this. He violently ripped all the bedding off and turned to me and asked what I wanted him to do about it. I stated that the bed was gross and we didn't pay to sleep with bugs and pet hair. He called Mary and told her "there wasn't no damn bed bugs, that it looked to be a small ant to him." I corrected him and said that I never said it was a bed bug, that I don't even know what they look like. He got louder and told Mary that it made no sense we were wasting his time over a little bug and what do we expect when the housekeepers prop the door open to clean and some bugs may get in. I told him that we weren't trying to complain, but that we couldn't sleep in that bed. He shoved the phone at me and told me to talk to Mary. As I was on the phone with her, I told her I was going to pull the sheets back on the other bed with him standing there to witness. When I did, right away, I saw a little worm looking bug and many stains. I told Mary, no way, that we could not settle for this. She was very apologetic and offered me their last room available, a smoking room. It was now 1:00am, we were 8+ hours from home and although I told her we are non-smokers, I would be willing to check the room and beds out. I walked in the room and the smell was so bad, I couldn't get 4 feet in the room. It was dirty and the beds were covered in burn holes and stains. I told the rude, older man that we just couldn't do it, he continued to grunt, sigh and mumble. I went to talk to Mary and show her the pictures. She had already alerted her boss, who came into the lobby and I recognized as the hateful woman who checked me in. I showed her the pictures and she tried telling me that they were not bed bugs, and AGAIN, I explained that I NEVER said they were, but I didn't feel like I, or my family should have to sleep in beds with bugs. She told me if I checked out, that she would only give me 50% off my room. I told her that we had only been in that room at most, 90 minutes and I would like my whole refund. She got extremely rude and demeaning with me, denying that there's anything wrong with bugs, pet hairs or stains in the bed. The next thing I knew, her husband walked in and started being very verbally abusive to me. I started calling Choice Hotels as this was going on and the man threatened me, saying that "I better not say anything negative or bad about this hotel". He also said, "good luck finding another hotel anywhere near Columbus", "He knew what I was trying to do, just get a free room", "I think I know everything", "go ahead and call Choice, they won't do anything about it" and he was speaking to his wife in their language so I couldn't understand them. I couldn't get a live person on Choice Hotels fast enough and was feeling very scared for my and my family's lives being so early in the morning and the mean older man pacing outside the lobby door, next to my car. I asked again for my refund and the man purposefully stalled and took as much time as he could, speaking to his wife. I'm not sure if they were arguing about issuing my refund at full price or 50% off, like the woman was first trying to tell me. I was just about to forget my refund and walk out, being so scared I could barely walk, when he aggressively shoved the invoice at me. I'm warning everyone that I can about this property and to be safe, be careful, go with your gut instinct, don't settle for bugs or anything else on your bed, no matter how stupid people make you feel or how aggressive they are with you! If the property is a dump, there are shady people hanging out and blocking stairways, and the owners/workers are mean, rude bullies - RUN!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Filthy Dirty - Dirtest hotel I've ever stayed in... Beyond disgusting. The bathroom made me want to puke it smelled so bad and hasn't been cleaned in months! Blankets had tons of cigarette burns
- Regina Graham (4/5): Diety beds and stained linens - Couldn't sleep because the sheets and pillowcases were dorty.
- Wendy (2/5): Stay far away from here. - The plexiglass in the hotel lobby really says it all. Room smelled of smoke - supposed to be non-smoking. Lights did not turn on with the switch by the door - had to find way in the dark to a lamp. Bedding and towels were either dirty or stained. Toilet did not flush correctly and randomly would during the night. Walls were in need of repair.
- Matty (6/5): - only problem was the staff made me feel uncomfortable
- Martha (10/5): - We stay there all the time love it
- Jonathan (10/5): - Good for the 1 night we needed.parking sucked and there wasn't enough.
- TheresaM382 (6/5): Nice Room - The room was updated, towels white and soft, customer service an "A+." I would stay there again if I have to make a pit stop. I did not like the busy morning traffic when leaving the motel, but that is because it's right on the 70 interstate.
- KaraPlace (4/5): There are better cheap hotels - This hotel was very inexpensive and, usually, if I'm just staying one night, I try to find something fairly inexpensive. It wasn't terrible, but I have stayed in better inexpensive hotels. The highway traffic was super loud. Do not get a room facing the streets. The room looked rundown with paint chipped, cigarette burns in several places, very old television, uncomfortable bed. It was not dirty but, due to some of the unpleasentries, it didn't seem clean. The service at the front desk was great and fast. Although I didn't eat it, they seemed to have a nice, simple breakfast that looked decent. As I said, I have stayed in worse places, but I will not stay there again because there are nicer hotels for the same price in the area.
- Helen_NuMetal (6/5): Just passing though... - My boyfriend & I chose this as a pit stop while on a road trip from NY to Missouri basically because it was fairly inexpensive. The people running the place were very nice! The rooms... served their purpose. We literally got there (late check in), slept a few hours & left!
We booked the room with 1 Queen sized bed. The beds were comfortable enough. They only seem to give 3 pillows instead of 4 so if you need more, you might request ahead of time. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft the towels were! The rooms were pretty clean but they sure could use some updating! Neither of the rooms we had were carpeted & one of the nights we did not have the table & chair set... but whatever... If you need a room for a night or two, this should do you just fine for the price. Also, you can walk to the Waffle House right next door.
And now a quick little funny story - (not funny HAHA but more like funny WTH?)...
Not exactly sure what this was about but...
As we were unpacking & transferring our belongings from car to room on the way back home there was a noisy pickup truck parked & idling directly in front of our room door. Finally, a young guy comes running down from the 2nd floor, gets in & just sits there while we were still doing our thing (mind you, this is about 11PM on a Friday night). Anyhow, he eventually opens his passenger window & hollers over to me & asks " do you know if this place has any cameras"? Huh?? I hesitantly approached the truck not sure if I heard right & asked "what was that"? He asked again if I knew if there were any cameras around. I thought to myself, dude... if you notice, we are just unpacking the car so..., how the HECK should I know?!!! I felt the burning urge to offer to go check with the front desk for him if he'd like...Then, I got a little nervous... Why is someone so concerned with whether or not there are cameras around unless if they are up to no good?!! Maybe he just purchased a new hunting rifle & wanted to try it out... I then saw him "light up" & he continued to sit there. I brought a few things into the room & noticed him staring in so I quickly pulled the curtain & semi shut the door until we were done & inside (door shut & locked)! At some point, not long after, I heard him drive away & to my knowledge, he did not come back, which was A-ok with me!! The next morning I didn't spot his pickup parked anywhere & wondered if there were dead bodies left behind in one of the rooms upstairs...
Creepy much?...
- 9davef (8/5): Overall a Nice Place - I will disregard the fact I sleep light and the interstate/Wilson Road traffic was unpleasant because they cannot control that. This will be a focus on the room and price itself. In all I had a family and friends discount so it was quite nice to have it at a good price. In all the room was nice, clean all the time and I thought the staff did a very good job keeping it clean. The only downside I would say is there wasn't a shuttle to Nationwide Arena and MAPFRE Field and I wish that would have happened. However it is one minor blip on the radar and I would recommend this place to anyone.
- garyandpamj (8/5): Emergency hotel room needed - My wife and I were bicycling across Ohio from Cleveland to Cincinnati when we encountered difficulties in Columbus which necessitated us finding a room for the night. A passing bicyclist recommended this Econo Lodge as it was close, clean, and reasonably priced. We found all of that to be true. And the woman working the front desk, Swati Patel, was so very friendly, helpful and accommodating we were really touched. She went above and beyond in helping us at the last minute and late in the evening. She got me a razor and provided us with hot drinks and fresh fruit, all very welcome after a 60 mile bike ride, mostly in the rain. The room was very clean, warm, and the bed comfortable. Our night really refreshed us for the next days ride.
- Patterymail (6/5): vacation - we have stayed here in the past and the woman at the desk remembered us and was very nice. and for the price the room is ok. We were told the upstairs floor is already renovated but mom and dad walk with canes so we chose to stay on lower floor. didn't have reservations until 1.5 hrs before we arrived and still got a bottom floor room. No elevator and outside steps.
- ABLePlymouth_MI (6/5): A good night's sleep - After reading reviews, I specified that we needed a quiet room and was assigned room 216 at the back of the hotel. The desk clerk was pleasant, efficient and courteous. The upstairs location was inconvenient because of the outside stairs, but was very quiet. Although some reviews about upkeep and cleanliness were negative my impression improved when we approached the hotel: The grounds were well maintained ( a lady was trimming the rose bushes) and the building, though old, looked clean and seemed to be in good repair and the parking lot had just been resurfaced and painted. Our room was small, with two queen beds and no chairs. Some wallpaper was peeling and the fixtures were old, and the narrow spaces between the furnishings had not been vacuumed, but the beds were clean and very comfortable and the and bathroom was clean. Both minifridge and microwave worked well. In the morning I called the front desk to inquire about breakfast and discovered that it was about to end. When we checked out I learned that the desk clerk had waited for us and had kept breakfast area open 20 minutes. When I called him I thought he was just assuring me that there would still be coffee available and so we ate at the Waffle House next door. We appreciated his kind action and regretted that we did not take advantage of it. For the price, I thought the hotel was adequate for a one night stay and a good night's sleep and the staff cared about the guests.
- Raenelle22 (2/5): Leaves a lot to be desired! - This is the type of hotel that you feel like you have to leave your shoes on even while in your room! Signs of mold on the walls in the bathroom...dead cricket in floor in bathroom...outdated beds. When you park your car you feel like you are gonna run into your hotel room. There is a continental breakfast but there were only a few tables and it looked like it would be slim pickings for breakfast so we didn't even stay and went to the Waffle House next door. My husband put the deadbolt and the chain on the door which I have never seen him do at a hotel! The front desk staff were friendly enough.
Leaves a lot to be desired!
