Guest Reviews
- Charles (10/5): - It was awesome my grandson is blessing
- David (8/5): - Super friendly and helpful staff. A moderately older property that has been well maintained, very comfortable beds, very clean, and a very quiet area. Certainly can recommend this Motel.
- Charles (10/5): - They were very respectful and always clean environment
- Jimarcus (2/5): - Room was unclean. Customer service was awful. I received a visit (expection) from the health department due to a complaint of suspected mold concern in my room. I was not offered or allowed to change rooms. My reservation was lost and l was mistaken for a different guest for two days in the system because we are both black men with the first name initials begin with J. My room was never cleaned and l was never offered towels, turn down, or anything remotely resembling a quality hotel or reason to return.
- Roland (4/5): You get what you pay for - So dated and dingy. Need an overhaul with these old hotels. You get what you pay for I guess…
- Brandy (2/5): - It was affordable.
- M (2/5): Disappointed - My husband and I stayed after a ballgame just for the night. It had a musty smell when we entered and it lingered through the night. There was a dead bug on the floor. The metal rack holding the towels was rusted, completely through on one place. There was rust on towels. The tub was nasty. The sink faucet was green and also needed replaced. It was no longer silver. The flat sheet was stained. We will drive the 3 hours back home even for late games from now on or stay somewhere else. We were sorely disapppinted.
- Cheryl (2/5): - Had surgery in bentonville arkansas today so didn't go
- Sherry (10/5): Great quality & affordable - Very comfortable and clean for price.
- Joseph (8/5): - The outside of the buildings looks rough.
- LaShonda (4/5): - I hated it
- Phyllis (8/5): No pool but room was nice - Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Pool closed. Room was perfect.
- Mario (2/5): Get with the times - I'm from Troy and this hotel looks and smelled as if it hadn't been updated since I left there 30 years ago. They advertised breakfast and it wasn't even provided.
- Doris (8/5): - Very accommodating front desk. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is coffee and muffins.
- Albert (10/5): - room was clean and i slept very good 👍
- gina (10/5): - Just overnight stay, check in was smooth desk girl (sorry didnt get her name) was extremely nice. Room very musky smelling but will do for overnight
- April (2/5): - Nothing … so nasty
- Cristo (8/5): - When I stayed here, the property was a bit sketch. The people at the office were very nice both checking in and checking out. I had a flat tire so I couldn’t go anywhere. There wasn’t much walkable options. The room was clean, but it seems a bit outdated.
- Ksthleen (6/5): - It’s needs to be rejuvenated. A little run down at the seams
- JAMIE (6/5): - It was ok bed was comfy
- Antonio (8/5): - Good
- randy (4/5): - Was not clean. Floor was filthy and no water pressure
- Brenda (8/5): - Room is clean and check in was good but bathroom door stuck and took 5 minutes to get out. Husband had to fix the toilet to flush. Also the pool in the pictures online is filled in with sod and grass. There a large hole in the room that I assume use to be for a mini fridge.
- Carol (10/5): - The bed was comfortable and room was clean but the room could use some repairs.
- Bob (4/5): - Mirror mounted off to side of sink, can’t look in morrow to shave .
Plug overflow broken and hanging down in tub
Plugs at bed so loose nothing makes a connection even if you held them in
- Daxton (10/5): Good coffee - Friendly staff. Greeted on arrival and prompt check-in. We enjoyed the stay. Not much of a breakfast. The coffee was really good.
- HOLLY (2/5): - No ice machine. Not enough towels. Cords didn't in outlet. Need another night stand.
- Melvin (8/5): - Rooms were clean and neat remodeling was done
- Verified traveler (2/5): Rust & Mold Everywhere - The rating "Terrible" is rather fitting. What not even close to the online rating. Coffee & muffins in a store-bought package is not a continental breakfast.
- Shemetris (8/5): - Only complaint i have is the drink machine didnt work it was worth the price
- Tamara (10/5): - N/a
- Nikki (6/5): - There was no pool or breakfast like the website stated. The room stayed very cold in the hot weather and felt good. Bed was uncomfortable and smelly (not sure if it was the sheets or mattress that smelled). But stuff was very pleasant and nice.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The room was very dated. A/C was nice and cold. The bed was comfortable.
- Tamara (4/5): Slippery tub - the tub was slippery, no way to stop up the tub to take a bath...My mom don't take showers especially when she thinking she would slip and fall.
- Heather (2/5): - The pictures show a pool and nice breakfast and it has neither. Pool is now filled in with grass and breakfast was coffee and the packaged muffin. I had to get my key redone everyday. Staff was very nice.
- Kathy (2/5): - Mold on doors and mirrors floor dirty no breakfast like was listed no pool that was listed did not stay waiting for refund on debit card. Expedia needs to take a look at this place!!!
- Eugene (6/5): - I did like the quietness and how comfortable the bed was. I didn't like the lighting, lighting very poor and had to go to the front desk many times because the keycards worked very poorly. Had the ask for towels many times
- Dan (8/5): - Stayed just for one night bed was comfy and staff was super nice. could use some fixture updates there was some rust and the vent on the ac was broken but every thing worked fine.
- Joseph (8/5): - The coke machine didn’t work.
- Gloria (8/5): - The tub/shower was very slippery. The bathroom toilet roll and tissue holders were rusty. Mildew looking patches on bathroom walls.
On the positive side: The bed was very comfortable.
Staff was very friendly.
- Donna (8/5): - Room was clean and quiet.
- Mary (10/5): - Not much to look at on the outside but really nice lobby and our room was great definitely would stay here again.
- Ora (6/5): - pool was nasty and filthy even though it was closed! room reaped of chlorine, but was tidy. iron plate needed clean ing, the safe was rusted.
- Brian (2/5): Yuck - Cockroach as soon as we got in the room. Dirty furniture. Only thing I can say was that the bed was comfortable.
- Ava (10/5): - The staff was very nice. The room was large with vinyl floors. 2 tiles were shredded. Ac worked great. Outdoor noise was ok. It was 100$ cheaper so i didnt expect alot but fornthe price it was good
- Marianne (8/5): - Furnishings and linens are recently updated. Facility is older but clean and sufficient for short stay. No frills.
- Angely (8/5): - The staff was very nice, but the facilities need upgrading, and there was a large hole in the wall where some appliance used to be. The bathroom and shower were very clean; however, the floor was dirty and the comforters were stained. The lobby also had a bad oder. That said, it was convenient.
- Ashante (6/5): - Friendly service but nasty rooms!
- Sai (10/5): - Good
- Ron (10/5): - Excellent value in a good clean hotel located next door to a good restaurant
- Andrew (8/5): - Nice property for one night
- Elizabeth (6/5): - Property is mostly a mess. Old but being remodeled with no explanation. Reserved well in advance - few rooms available with no explanation and none away from the truck traffic -freezer section frosted over- not usable. No lounge chair or place to put bags off the floor If I hadn't paid in advance, I would have left.
- Eric (8/5): - The property was clean and the staff were extremely friendly. The appliances in the rooms were dated and could use an update or a "freshening" up.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid EconoLodge Hwy 231 Troy, Al - I’m very disappointed in what I see in my room. Rusty lamps, rusty appliances, ironing board is rusty also. The pictures that’s in the advertisement of the rooms are miss representing of EconoLodge . Clearly Choice Hotels nor Hotels.com visit this hotel. I’ve never experienced this before in a hotel. There’s nothing good or pleasant I have pictures of everything in my room. I guess you get what you pay for. Furniture, appliances all looks like it was purchased from a yard sale and the newest items in the room is the tv and microwave…every room here needs to be inspected.
- Barbie (10/5): - Very nice receptionist.
- Vickie (4/5): - People live full time in the back. Kids riding skateboards outside room doors couldn't get to sleep. Wouldn't recommend staying here.
- Alanna (4/5): - Hair from prior guest in shower; shower head rusty/dirty; if my husband didn’t tighten down the toilet seat it could have been ugly. Check in girl didn’t really care, or so it seemed; Beds were very uncomfortable; had to sign a paper that we would have to pay if we took a can pillow/they were little pillows..3 might equal one and a half regular pillows.
Did like the location! (Have pictures)
- Ivanka (8/5): - Quiet area. Nothing spectacular but people are nice and friendly. Beds were clean and water was hot. Thanks
- Tracy (6/5): - The beds were not very comfortable
- Ivanka (6/5): - Great water with high pressure. Not very restful night. Mattress very uncomfortable. Tossing and turning all night. Rooms need serous update. The girls behind the counter were very nice and polite. Good price!
- Valerie (6/5): - Overall it was great for the price.. I just didn’t have a shower curtain
- David R (4/5): - Needs serious updating. One lamp didn't work, Big square hole in wall. Safe rusted shut. Needs painting and new caulking everywhere. At least sheets seemed clean. No tv channel guide found in room.
- Paul (10/5): - Good location, clean room, reasonably quiet, great price!
- Kim (6/5): - Great air conditioning unit! Refrigerator worked but was rusty. Bed was clean but too ‘worn in’ we sunk to the middle of the mattress. Convenient to park right next to our room!
- Precious (10/5): Housekeeping make to much noise when cleaning up ! - Front desk lady was so sweet and nice very friendly…. I just hate that housekeeping be so loud and all that bumping when they be cleaning the rooms up….they woke me up around 9 with all that noise by time I went back to sleep it was check out time !
- Debra (8/5): - Wonderful staff. Rusted out appliances in room.
- Diana (10/5): - Not bad at all for the cost!
- john (8/5): Pleasantly surprised - The motel was much better than expected. Room smelt good comfortable bed. Stayed in the Best Western down the road last trip to Troy paid twice as much. Econo Inn was better for half the price.
- charlene (8/5): - Affordable and livable and safe
- Scott (10/5): - Excellent helpful staff, clean room, quiet area
- Trudy (4/5): - When we laid on the bed, we could feel the springs. The room smelled musty and moldy.
- Patti (8/5): - The lamps all had rust on them. No extra toilet paper. Air conditioning was very cold. Felt great. It was very clean.
Angel at the front desk was wonderful! Very kind.
- Jodi (6/5): - The room was pretty run down. I didn't expect much for the price, but it was in bad shape. The pillows were horrible. Ice machine was broken. The toilet keep running. The girl working the front desk was super sweet!!
- Dave (8/5): - They have done a lot to these rooms to make them very nice and colorful the nicest econolodge I've ever stayed in. Still working on the grounds outside. But most certainly worth the very reasonable price
- les (4/5): - Room was clean. Everything outdated. Terrible shower. Old furniture. Toilet flushed weird and loud.
- Gene (8/5): Overnight - Just over night was fine, the hair dryer from our room was missing. She offered us a different room but we were already unpacked and didn't want to move.
- Lea (6/5): Worked out when we needed a place for one night - The staff was great. It is an old hotel and worn out. The room was clean and good for the one night we needed a place to stay. It was okay for the price.
- Sandy (6/5): - Had to complain about the heavy footsteps above us,and when that stopped, the loud music started. Walls were vibrating until 4 am.
- Ruth (4/5): - Didn't Like: Breakfast was a prepackaged muffin and coffee, which was very disappointing. Room was smelly. There was no hair dryer. There was no ice available.
Liked: There was water presser in the shower and the water was hot.
- Shirley (2/5): - Property was not clean, noisy guests came in tge middle of the night, waking me from a sound sleep. Very few of the electrical outlets would work. I could not charge my phone or my watch. I had a two night reservation, but was called home because of a death. I ask about canceling the second night and was told I could not cancel it through the hotel because I had booked it through Expedia. Then when I talked with someone at Expedia. They told me I could not cancel it through Expedia. I had to cancel it through the hotel. I just feel like I really got a run around and I paid a double amount of money for one night of no rest in filth.
- Marc (8/5): - A lot of things were not working, for example: no ice machines in working order. Our room needed to be modernized. Light bulbs missing, mirror on bathroom wall fastened oddly.
Staff was nice and helpful.
- Charles (8/5): - Customer service was gret.
- Jeanine (10/5): - This was my second stay there the first time it was just at a whim I needed a room and back then they also were very attendant very friendly very efficient.
There was nothing I did not like about this property .The staff was so friendly and welcoming . Anything that I needed they were right there immediately for me no hesitation whatsoever. Very refreshing to stay at a place where the staff is humble .
- Belinda (10/5): - Very friendly and make you feel welcome. She even offered to changed my room to face my truck.
- Trevor (8/5): - Friendly staff. Economical drive stop.
- Stuart (2/5): - Smells
- Ronald (2/5): - The exterior looks very good but once you get in the room it's terrible. Everything that is metal was either rusty or pitted. The toilet handle was so loose we had to lift the cover off each time to pull up the chain to flush. The tub bottom was stained and chipped badly. The smoke detector was taken out and there was just a hole and capped wire in the ceiling. We travel up to Troy once a year but we will never stay at this place again.
- Dave (4/5): Absolutely unacceptable!!! - The room was dirty, refrigerator was totally rusty, the safe was rusty and the floor was filthy!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): disappointed - Floors had not been mopped; socks/feet were black. Empty condom wrappers in side table drawer. No clean towels brought, no room service at all. Handles missing off drawers. Delivery services will not delivery to this location, pizza nor door dash. Could not close bathroom door due to handle coming off. No extra toilet paper provided.
- amy (8/5): - Not bad for area good price. Wish they had some sort of coffee breakfast nibbles
- lise (6/5): - The property and rooms were very run down. Definitely needs some renovations. There was no breakfast.
The staff were very nice and friendly. They made the difference.
- Jeffery (8/5): Friendly staff, horrible hotel!! - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself needs renovation. Not worth the money. Spend a few more extra dollars and stay somewhere else. The room had a strong odor of fried fish, like someone had actually been frying fish in there. Lights didn’t work, flies flying around in the room and small roach like bugs in the bathroom on the floor and shower curtain. Cigarette burns on the side of the tub, and shower head was nasty and didn’t work properly. Mini fridge is all rusty and floor was sticky and dirty. Rooms need a serious upgrade and refurbishment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Spend the extra money and find a better place because you will not be happy with its conditions.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Lots of hot water, but tiny pillows! - We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the accommodations were. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were like little half pillows. The bathroom was nice except for the light over the vanity that needed to be changed. All in all I would recommend!
- Wayne (6/5): - Staff kids and partners aroun
- Crystal (10/5): - Room was clean and smelled fresh. Staff was friendly and helpful
- Tim Van (8/5): - Everything you need within a mile
- Jacqueline (10/5): A Great Time - My stay was great. I had a wonderful time. Thank you 😊 💓 ☺️
- Linda (8/5): - Bed was not comfortable. Mattress needed replaced
- Glenn (8/5): - You get what you pay for. It's inexpensive lodging. But, the internet worked, the room, although dated, was clean. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Honestly, the only real complaint was the flashing streetlight in the parking lot made it hard to sleep.
- Charles (4/5): - Location was great room was dirty tv remote didn’t work and the toilet was broken otherwise it was ok
