- Saia (9/5): - Pool area No stove top
- Jennifer (9/5): -
- Katie (6/5): -
- Kendra (10/5): -
- Ehrlicher (7/5): - The size of room The house keeping tried to enter the room
- Shaunna (1/5): Absolutely would NOT recommend. - The front desk team member was friendly, but overly so. Not clean, had cockroaches, we were told that the cockroaches were normal. Room had holes in the wall, the tub was not attached to the floor, dead bugs in the lamps. We had to leave for our health.
- Armand (10/5): -
- Jeremy (8/5): - Yes
- Brandon (6/5): Good price, okay stay - I liked the price. It was very affordable. The bed was very uncomfortable. The bathtub was scary. Also, the wall by the door was falling apart and the bathroom door would not close all the way. There was an ant problem and mosquitoes got in as well.
- Sheila (8/5): Considering location and size of town would stay again if need be but would come more prepared! - Very convenient location and accommodated us to a first floor room for my 85 yr old mother… staff very pleasant… Did not realize that it is what I call a working person location, such as kitchenette, etc..
Had a coffee pot but no coffee..
No hair dryer..
No carpet..
- Armand (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - The first night was great second time today the room toilet overflowed and I had to get a plunger and and they wasn't one and I had to walk all the way to the office to get one and when I got back it was a huge mess!
- Armand (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (9/5): Loved it! Would stay again. - Most of the furnishings were new. Very comfortable stay. Price was right. Finish on tub was coming off. A few minor repairs could be made, but nothing that made the stay uncomfortable at all.
- Ashley (1/5): I did not stay they had bed bugs in room 105 and nobody returned my money yet - Nothing and I didn’t stay there because they room had bed bugs and I still ain’t receive my refund Bed bugs and I need my refund that I haven’t received yet
- Anthony (10/5): Awesome Stay - Very professional staff. The location was awesome. Very quiet.
- Anthony (10/5): Great Place to Stay - The location was awesome. Very clean room. Everything looks fairly new and the front desk clerk was absolutely amazing. She was very friendly and informative.
- Chad (5/5): Did sleep well beds were hard room was hot - Not much Room was very hot upon entering room took over an hour to cool off
- Lori (6/5): Pleasant -
- Matthew (8/5): - Parking was readily available.
A/C was not on ahead of time so the room was a little warm since it was near 100°F outside, but it cooled off quick enough once the A/C had been running for a bit. The wood floors, marble on the shower tub walls, full size refrigerator, and other features suggest that that investments have been made recently to keep the rooms modern and attractive.
Be sure to bring your own shampoo, as well as pillows if you're used to sleeping with ones that have more fluff.
Staff was friendly and accommodating.
There are other options not too far along US 90 if restaurants in Luling don't appeal. The motel also isn't far from I-310, so it's well placed to get into New Orleans from a few different directions.
- Frederick (10/5): - Was great nice clean rooms
- Jonathan (10/5): you should stay here - thank you so much for your hospitality we'll see you next time
- Verified traveler (2/5): - TERRIBLE PROPERTY! Paid for a NON SMOKING king room that wreaked of smoke. Several light switches in room weren’t working. Room keys didn’t work. Ran over a fork in parking lot and got a flat tire. So terrible we did not stay and asked for a refund. Manager told us a non smoking room was not guaranteed. Prostitutes and sketchy people were plentiful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good place
- Brooke (10/5): - Very nice and peaceful
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I didn’t like the fact I got a call during the day saying the guest below called the front desk saying he heard some noise up above him, that said guest is a “day sleeper” because he works nights...I have children, well behaved children who don’t make an abundance of noise and are incredibly courteous and aware of their surroundings. If said guest heard anything noise wise, then the quality of the rooms need to be tested/questioned. The front desk remains responsible, and should ensure that their guests are placed in the rooms that best fit their needs; don't place “day sleeping” guests on a first floor room underneath another guest with children.
- timv0960 (10/5): Keep this hotel a secret - I have stayed in Hampton Inn's and Marriott properties that were not this nice. Completely remodeled. Very nice, fresh and new. When I see reviews complaining about trains and higway noise it makes me more inclined to stay. The owners of this property must care deeply for immediate impressions by customers, because attention has been paid to every detail. I stayed for 2 days, and I will come back when my travels bring me to New Orleans again.
Least I forget to mention. Walmart is right down the street. My room had a full size frig and microwave. And 'Dots' grill is right next door.
- revjohannesm (6/5): New Name (Westwood Inn) - Needs More Improvement - This motel is no longer part of the Comfort Inn franchise. The name is now the Westwood Inn. The rooms seemed to have been remodeled some but they need to complete the work. I saw new furniture like beds, etc in my room but the walls were not repainted. This ruined the feeling of the room. There was a flat-screen tv and good wifi signal. Plan to go real early to get breakfast or you might be out of luck and have to go to the nearby Dot's Restaurant. During the time I was there as a guest, the rate was really high. My assumption is that the price was jacked up because the contractors who have come into the area to help out with the rebuilding after the August Floods all have business accounts that could afford the higher rates.
- Michael (6/5): Good Restful Sleep. - Typical small town hotel/motel. Staff excellent. Desk agent, Megan, was really great. Our reservation had not been transferred to the hotel, so we both had to make several calls to get the information. She was very patient and friendly and professional. We wanted to be near Mississippi River plantations, and this offered a good restful sleep.
- 215danap (8/5): Country feel - Clean rooms. We were on the 2nd floor and had two good nights. Pool was in the back. Breeze was nice. Dot's Dinner next door had good food and large portions. About 25 minutes to Plantations or New Orleans downtown. I would stay here again if passing through.
- Tim (8/5): Liking comfort - It was great.
Would stay there again
- Lucas (8/5): Good hotel, bad breakfast - Room was humid but clean. Breakfast did not look good at all so I didn't eat it. The hotel was fine though.
- dan (8/5): A Book from the Cover - Hotel was a little far from New Orleans but the price made up for it! The exterior of the hotel had my group worried, however, the rooms were your standard fare. The rooms were a good size and clean!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable staystay - Very comfortable beds and friendly staff
- Donald (8/5): A Pleasant Surprise - I picked this hotel because it was very close to where I needed to be, there weren't a lot of options that close and the price was right. I don't usually go out of my one or two trusted brands or to this price point. I am a road warrior spending more nights per year in hotels than at home. I WAS VERY SURPRISED at the bed, the bedding, the cleanliness of the whole room, the friendly staff. Don't miss Dot's Diner, 50 steps from the hotel, open 24/7 serving whatever meal you want.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Check this one out - An amazingly great value. Old hotel, doesn't look great from the outside, but room was comfortable and bed and bedding was great (better than a lot of $200+ per night hotels I stay in. I spend on average 150 nights a year in hotels. Have for 30 years. I would stay here again if only for the clean sheets and comfortable bed. Great job.
- Lova (10/5): Great - Loved it. Peaceful and nice staff
- Jeanne (6/5): Mardi Gras - Came to visit friends who lived in Luling and do Mardi Gras. Room needed some general upgrading, paint, carpets. Towels were really on the thin side. Couldn't adjust the fan/heater. Even on low fan it was noisy and too much. Breakfast was good, nice variety and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great diner next door. Would stay there again.
- Stotes57 (4/5): You'd Better Like Trains - One of these things is not like the others. Night 6, another Comfort Inn. I really don't know how they managed to get the banner. Outdoor corridors, no elevators, just across the busy highway is a railroad track. Abandoned vehicle in the parking lot. At the end of the day, though, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets clean. Wouldn't race back, but it did the trick at the time.
- 866JOHNO866 (8/5): Comfortable - Check in was good and prompt. Bed was comfortable and had clean sheets. Shower was hot and had lots of pressure. Coffee pot in room. Complimentary breakfast was not a huge spread but satisfying..not a huge hotel...didn't get to try out the pool or anything else on the premises...only in town for one night. Several restaurants in driving distance from the hotel also.
- JohnWayneIII (2/5): Terrible! - I went to get a room and The lobby was empty, so i waited for a couple of minutes just in case they were in the bathroom or something. Still no one showed up, so i went to wal mart down the road for up to 30 minutes to an hour and came back but still no body was there. There is a train track right across the street and the train was constantly blowing the horn, they also had sketchy looking people outside that looked like they were up to no good and they had drunk people walking around screaming, by then i defiantly changed my mind about this hotel. I DO NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and I didn't even get to get a room. I could only imagine that i would be kept up all night with the noise and the paranoia.
- retiredandlovingit07 (8/5): A Good Night's Sleep - We were placed in a room in the rear and had a compressor for the pool close by. Not good.
The low-flush toilet was interesting. You had to bend over and push a button on the side...you actually had to hold it in during the whole flush. You can imagine what you view could be at that time!
The room was clean and the bedding was very nice. The mattress was A+!
We enjoyed having a table and two chairs where we could set up our computers.
We were up and dressed and ready for breakfast at 8:30 and discovered that breakfast is served from 5-8AM. Geesh! The desk clerk kindly offered to get something back out for us but we declined. McDonald's bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits were calling our names.
- EmileeReed (6/5): Great price, good room - We drove from Pennsylvania to visit a good friend who is in Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. The hotel connected to the hospital is terribly high priced, just what a patient's family member needs. We 'shopped' around a bit in the Meterie/New Orleans area and we found only high prices, shabby rooms and questionable neighborhoods. Hubby decided to go a little way out to Boutte. The fairly new Quality Inn had a much better price but the lobby (very pretty) was so heavily fragranced I was afraid we would both have major allergy attacks. They need to re-think their cleaning plan.
Checking tripadvisor one more time produced the Comfort Inn. Insert celestial music here. One third the cost of even the lowest priced room near the hospital. It was a large, clean room and the afore mentioned trains & tractor trailer were apparently on good behavior the two night we were there. We would definitely stay here again if there is a need.
- TravelwithDS (4/5): Bad location - I just came back from my trip to New Orleans and we stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is located on a highway and there is a railroad that runs close to the hotel as well. Both nights we had trouble sleeping due to tremendous amount of noise of either trucks or trains honking as they were passed by. Closing windows didn't make any difference, the noise was just as bad. Customer service was okay too, when we asked the receptionist about certain attractions, she didnt seem to know much about them and wasn't very helpful. Breakfast was good, although it closes early in the morning (only goes until 8am during weekdays). Room size was good, however, our sink was continuously leaking water on the carpet. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to others. I'm surprised at the ratings it has received so far.
- EdM554 (8/5): A decent budget hotel - Our recent stay was for 3 nights. Yes, it is an older property, but is does appear to have had some recent renovations and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Our king bed room was fair sized. It appeared to have been recently painted. The carpet was clean and the pile not worn. Bedding clean and quite comfortable. Our room also included a fridge (ice cold!), a microwave oven, and a table for 2. The LG flat screen TV was fairy new with a good selection of cable channels.
The dressing area counter top and tub/shower walls were a modern solid surface material that looks like granite.
The train track mentioned in another post was not an issue.
Also included is complementry hot and continental breakfast items, average.
We had trouble the first night with the electronic lock on our room door. We were offered another room, but as it was late and we had already unpacked, we declined. The lock was promptly replaced the next morning, problem solved. Thanks Raven!!
Overall, we feel this hotel offered a good value for the rate paid and we would stay with them again.
- RHfromKS (8/5): Friendly & Affordable - I stayed one night. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and nice. Only problem was the TV stations were fuzzy. Other guests could be heard talking outside and the train would blare it's horn. The breakfast was really good. I was pleasantly surprised by all the options.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Find another hotel in the area... - This hotel is obviously old and has not been kept up... It is apparently a stop over for construction crews and has seen much damage. The room I had was only worth a fraction of what I paid... If it had not been a late night stop and I was exhausted... I would have kept on going... there are a few other newer and hopefully better kept hotels in the area so next time I will check in to one of them... pass on this one.
- Hoistandcrane (6/5): Not too shabby - I stay here whenever I work out of the NOLA branch. The rooms are getting outdated. Parking is a little bit of a hassle if you get a room in the back so make sure you ask for a room out front.
The staff are and have always been very friendly and seem eager to help. The breakfast is average.
Room are clean but the furniture and bathrooms are showing signs of wear. There is a great place to eat (Dots) located right in the parking lot. The hotel is just minutes from Walmart and other places to eat. If you are a day sleeper do not sleep in the back as there is a day care and the screaming kids will wake you at recess.
- 60Bob (6/5): Airport overnight stop - I didn't see all this evidence of an old tired building the other 2 reviews mentioned. Walls a little thin and you do get early risers catching early flights. Airport shuttle laid on but you would be best driving around a bit for a reasonable choice of evening meal rather than rely on walking somewhere. I liked that you could actually open a window to get real fresh air. The business centre also meant I could print off my boarding cards with no charge and the free wifi was also useful. Breakfast was a bit "plastic" but there was plenty of juice and coffee and a make it yourself waffle machine too. All in all reasonable value for the price and friendly staff. No complaints
- drbw1169 (6/5): a pleasant surprise - It is an older building and is pretty rundown. Our room was clean. There are train tracks across the street and I was afraid it would be loud but we weren't disturbed at all by a train. Breakfast is served 5am-8am-- we didn't make it down in time so I don't know about the options available.
- Anonymous (6/5): Last minute getaway - I went for the Essence festival.
More time to enjoy the event only went for one day.
One of my better one day vacation.
- TOG11 (4/5): Rundown - This is an older hotel which has become pretty rundown. The rooms are fairly clean for how rundown the property is. It is located in an industrial area about 15 miles west of New Orleans. The breakfast is pretty minimal.
