- Debbie (6/5): - I am allergic to cats. There was an area set up right outside the front door with a blanket, water and food that a cat was on. Door didn’t shut all the way. Once inside there was another cat in the main lobby area. It was also right outside my door as I left.

- V3605TRkaras (2/5): Not the best - Upon checking in we had a reservation the man said to avoid a 10 day $300 hold on our card we’d be charged $25 and our room changed. Hoping to upload photos because the room was not cleaned at all. He said no breakfast just coffee when the website is all about breakfast I’m sure the sheets were washed but very stained. Room says non smoking but sheets had holes from smoking. Cats everywhere. Hotel employee said he was using fabuloso to clean the halls. Very disappointed. Rate was nice till we was charged $25 when arrived. Very fishy. Thankful we have a place to stay after seeing the lights at ogelbay but will not be back or recommend this place to anyone and I’m not one to bash a business it’s hard to make it in the world today. But the room has to be cleaned before you offer it to a guest not with cobwebs and noddles on the wall by the trash can!

- James (2/5): - So i walk in had to wait 15 minutes before anyone came to the desk to talk to me and when he got there he was rude and told us immediately about 150 dollar charge because we were internet people im not happy about my stay and will never be coming back
- David (4/5): - When I arrived, the front desk man first told me that he couldn't find my reservation, and he told me I should have just showed up at the desk and they would have charged me just $60.00 for the room. Since I had already prepaid for my stay (for less than $60.00) I started looking for proof of my prepaid reservation. Then he suddenly found the reservation in papers that he had at the desk. He then told me he only had a couple rooms of the size I wanted. I told him that I didn't have to single queen size bed room, and he could substitute another room type. He said there was an extra charge if I wanted to get a different room, so I decided to take the room I reserved, even though he discouraged me from taking it. When I arrived in the room I found that the curtain wouldn't stay closed, and the vent fan in the bathroom wasn't working. Since it was very late, I decided to just stay and not complain. When I woke up in the morning I found that there was no wash cloth, no tissues, and very warm water was coming out of the cold water taps on the sink and tub until they had been running about two minutes. The volume control on the TV remote was intermittent. Also, there are what seemed like abandoned vending machines (unplugged and with no products in them) in the lobby. The hotel definitely needs a lot of maintenance, replacement of worn fixtures, decorating, etc.
- Andrew (4/5): - Cat lovers will absolutely rush to this place and rave about it! There are at least two cats living in the lobby area where the breakfast bar and tables are housed. While some might love it, I think a call to the health authorities is warranted. The room itself was adequate and clean. I will skip this property in the future.
- Vacation47590794608 (2/5): Cockroach infested - There is nothing good about this place. How has it not been condemned and shut down? Booked on Priceline and the owner made us pay more to stay. Refused a refund. The old front desk clerk was also rude. Neither would give us a receipt. Once in the room it wasn’t long before we noticed cockroaches everywhere. Crawling on the refrigerator. In the bathroom. We reported and they gave us a spray can to spray them. Guests were being refused clean towels. Needless to say we left and went to Fairfield Inn and Suites. Shouldn’t the Health Department do something about this? The breakfast consists of stale cereal. Pictures on here are very old and not offered. Would not recommend this nightmare experience

- Jeffrey (2/5): - Well…I am honestly shocked that Expedia would list this hotel on their site. I booked the hotel and for $39.99 a night didn’t have high expectations. When I showed up they wanted an additional $300.00 as a security deposit. The other option the offered me was an additional $40.00 per night which brought the room up to $80.00 a night. This was a complete rip off and I would tell anyone to avoid this hotel at all costs. The hotel was not very clean and there are cats everywhere to include inside the facility. To get the room for $40.00 a night you expect less than great but to be forced to either pay an additional $300.00 or $40.00 a night is a complete and total rip off. Best to find somewhere else to stay!!!

- Tom (4/5): - I didn't appreciate the fact that they placed a hold on my credit card for $150 and I hated the fact that the place was crawling with cats which I am deathly allergic to so I had to carry an EPI pen in my pocket the whole time I was there. I had fleas in my room that probably came from the damn cats. Fortunately, I carry a towel and washcloth with me everywhere I travel because there were no washcloths in the bathroom and the clerk didn't tell me until I checked out that they didn't have any washcloths and people were supposed to use the hand towels for washcloths. That would have been nice to know before I had to use mine.
- Derek (8/5): - If you dislike cats then don’t stay here. Otherwise this property is a bit old but still a great place to stay. I love being greeted by the cats personally. They even jump up on the counter and say hello during check in and run down the hallways on the first floor. So precious.

- Deborah (10/5): Great Hotel for the Price - This is dn easy access hotel with plenty of food & retail close. The hotel is no frills, older, & dated... But it's beds (or rm 214)are comfortable, full water pressure for a decent shower 🚿. It's quiet and convenient.
- Daydream26020032138 (2/5): Absolutely Filthy - The absolute worst stay we have ever had. This place should be shut down. There are at least 10 cats roaming in and out of the property. Including having complete access to the continental breakfast bar area. The outside doors do not lock or have key code only access - so anyone in the world can get in. The hallways, stairways and elevator had not been swept in what looked like decades. Absolutely filthy. Pool. Nope it was in total disrepair and shut down. Only two towels in the room. Zero washrags, even when asked. The TV didn't work, and someone had to come into our room to "fix it". We were told the "maintenance man" lived there - yet when this guy came in our room to fix it, he said he wasn't even the maintenance man, and his wife is who worked the front desk. He said that they had lived there for the past 3 years - in the hotel. Unnerving to say the least. No iron in the room. Refrigerator was so old it didn't even keep anything cold. No coffee pots. We were in a nonsmoking room - yet the entire place smelled like old stale cigarette smoke. There were clearly ashes on the floor in our room. No toilet seats. The room had been painted at least 4 times and every color was still visible. The jacuzzi was cracked and when we turned it on, it had a million gnats in it. Disgusting! The ceiling had apparently leaked, and the fix was to place a piece of drywall over it and paint it. Then we found someone's used socks under our bed. No lamps in the room. Just absolute total filth. I could go on and on. It was truly an awful, run down place and I would tell everyone to stay clear.

They didn’t have a breakfast in the morning, though even though they kind of had a set up and the coffee was lukewarm. I would stay there again if I happen to put it again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Was greeted at counter by man wearing stained white t-shirt. Staff was pleasant. Had some ants in bathroom eating something on floor when we first arrived. Tub faucet heavy dripping, could not shut off. Bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast consisted of cheerios, cornflakes, oatmeal and a loaf of bread. No fruit, bagels, etc. Fire alarm went off twice just before we checked out. Firemen came out twice.
- Brian (4/5): - While the room was tolerable, there were at least 8-10 stinking cats loitering around the front door, inside the lobby and even in the clerks area. The hallways smelled like cat urine on the first floor and a strong smell of marijuana permeated the second floor. They advertised a bar an a pool, the bar has been closed for at least five years and the pool is also closed. Would NOT recommend this place and I definitely will not stay there again.

- 14walaam (2/5): Absolutely HORRIBLE owner who is rude and acrook and abusive to his staff. - I arrived and the room type i booked was not available. The receptionist staff was accommodating and found a solution. Then the owner came in and INSISTED I give back the room key and go to a different room and since i didnt want the front desk staff to get in trouble i obliged thinking he would give me the correct room. I booked a queen bed as I was driving for 9 hrs, was going to be driving another 7 the next day and needed a good sleep so I can be rested for the road the bed was all i cared about. He put me in a room with a double bed and when I went back to request what I booked he basically short of called me a liar by saying and I quote "all hotels have queen beds it's a queen bed". Which it wasn't! It's common knowledge the hotels have different size beds and he was EXTREMELY disrespectful and an outright liar. It was 2am in a state I have never been and he told me if i didn't like it I could go somewhere else. When I went in the room to sleep ( with the double bed) I could hear him yelling at the front desk staff at the top of his lungs for quite a while. I called down asking them to stop yelling... he didn't he continued to verbally abuse his staff. I had to turn on the TV to drown out the yelling and slept with my feet hanging off the bed because it was too small.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Don't do it - It list pool but under construction they dont tell you that beforehand and its supposed to be a smoking room but after you pay they make you sighn a paper that they'll charge you 150.00 if fire alarm goes off and tell you that if more than one person in room you must rotate 1 cig every 45 minutes they offer you a up grade room which is a king size bed but for 178.00 for 2 nights its truly over-priced and they show a coffee maker in room notta ! Had to buy one also they advertise a breakfast its completely empty there were other things but those were the biggest complaints

- OpossumPrincess_99 (2/5): Absolutely Awful! - My husband and I came in to visit family on a last minute decision, we were running on 3 hours of sleep and all the other surrounding hotels were booked up, and for good reason.. The check in was pretty smooth and the clerk was really nice, we go to the room, and it was full of someone else’s things!!! Thankfully no one was there so I run back up to the front desk to inform him that the room he gave us was taken and I needed a new room right away… He then blames it on the previous employee that they didn’t inform him that the room was taken and went down the hall to look for an empty room… He comes back gets us a new card and takes us to the new room. Everything seemed okay at first, but after quickly inspecting everything we noticed none of the counter tops had been wiped off and there was what seemed like salt just scattered on the desk top.. Weary of everything but being absolutely exhausted we just wanted to lay down and finally rest. Second issue we came across was the toilet leaked and didn’t flush properly, which was just a huge annoyance. We finally go to lay down and My husband goes to adjust his pillow and there is a mummified cricket under his pillow!!! We wanted to leave but we were so exhausted we decided to make due… So we ripped the rest of the bedding off and had to lay on the bed with no blankets or pillows, the bed was so uncomfortable… After a horrible night of tossing and turning I felt so filthy and was hoping we could just shower and leave.. Again, nope.. Turned on the water and it came out BROWN with dead bugs in the water… It made my sick… about that time my husband informed me that he found more gross things around the room, from full on spiders nest, beer tabs shoved into the ac/heating unit and Cob webs streaming from all the lights… At this point it’s 6am and I’ve just had enough and we got dressed and went to check out, we didn’t even get to properly do that! Got up to the front desk and the employee was asleep in a chair in the back office, not even up at the desk. I just threw our room card on the desk and left. I would have much rather to sleep in my car then have to deal with any of that again. Do not recommend this hotel for absolutely anyone…

- Julianna V (2/5): - I booked at 11pm on the 19th of August and arrived at 2:30am on the 20th of August. When I got there I was told they couldn’t find my prepaid online booking and I was charged another $80 for one night (booked for 4 nights, 4 people). When we got into the room we found a dead roach in the fridge and we killed a live roach on the outside of the fridge. At 10:30am I spoke to a man at the front desk who was able to locate my online booking and he claimed I would be getting a refund of my $80 (never happened) I also informed him about the roaches and asked for my room to be cleaned again. He said housekeeping came in at 11am. This is when I left for work. While at work my 17 yr old daughter called and said a different worker informed her that I was only allowed 2 people and not 4 and would have to pay a additional $10 per person per day. I called the hotel and informed the man I would not be paying that because my booking was for 4 people. I also informed him of the roaches because more dead and live roaches were found by my children (we have pictures and live video of these roaches) he then began cussing me out informed me I wasn’t the fing boss and the manager didn’t wait for my god danged butt (he actually used cuss words for this) I told him several times to stop cussing at me that I wasn’t cussing him and yet he continued to cuss me and demand additional funds. He then hung up on me. He lied to Expedia said I was there 2 days and no bugs refused my refund!
- 477juliannac (2/5): Worst hotel EVER!!! - I booked online for 4 people for 4 days.I get there and get charged again then I get charged for 2 people again per day then there are live and dead roaches in and on the fridge and desk worker cussed me out when I asked for a manager and refused to get me one then hung up on me there are live and dead potato bugs in the lobby worker harassed my 17 and 14 yr old girls then claimed I was there for two days but have proof I was there for 12 hrs and charged me another two days on top of the four I prepaid for them refused to give me a refund and told my minor children how I wasn’t nice but yet HE cussed ME out for refusing to pay additional charges and then he lied to Expedia about my complaints and about the bugs and how long I was there but I have proof DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!
- Deborah (10/5): One night, convenient - Check in was smooth this time. 4th stay, finally no hard time for booking on line. Thank you! Still a $ hold because I booked online, but no hassle about not wanting to upgrade upon arrival. Again thank you! It hC been a very long day already. Easy check in and straight up to the room. It's a great $40 room, single queen bed. No it's not fancy or updated. No the vending machines are not stocked. This time the ice wasn't working either. But it's easy access to the highway, convenient for area food etc. One night stay , quiet hotel. The bed is fine, the pillows thin. This is not a resort or vacation hotel. This was the first shower I've taken there, decent water flow, clean but no wash cloths. This is an easy access, quiet, one night on the road hotel.

Vending machines were empty, but plenty of restraunts and a grocery store were very close.

There was no breakfast at all if you love cereal and plain waffles . Dead bugs were sitting on the windows. The house keeper was very nice though she made sure that we had what we need. They didn’t give us enough towels and no wash clothes. Hote was so out of date the have a mirror as the back board of your bed. The heater never worked outdated. Our door to the room didn’t want to shut properly or lock . Refused to give me the room I choose. They want you to feel out a registration form. Keep asking for money . They feed a cat outside

So why wouldn't the manager take it at the knights inn upon check in? Ive stayed at this hotel before an paid cash always tries to scam you. I didnt want to book this one but the price was right at the time. we didnt even try after he refused us for not having a credit card we told him keep the money as a donation but the point is i wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and if you do go upon arrival youll understand. The room was a smoking room, but told not to smoke but one cigarette every 45 minutes, which i don't. But the room was so filled with smoke smell i could not sleep or eat in the room. I was talked into a room upgrade. Which i was charged for in addition, the entire amount, to the amount I paid for Hotels.com reservation. I was told this would be taken care of. Its four days later and I am still trying to get the charge removed. Please, this "hotel" should not be listed as a choice on Hotels.com. It is one of the most disgusting hotels i've ever stayed at...being the only choice out of several hotels in the area, it makes Hotels.com look really bad!

Love that they are pet friendly, and the rescue cats on site brought our granddaughter SO MUCH joy! Fridge and microwave were a nice bonus. Big TV, clear cable, and Magnificent hot water with deep bathtubs! Only downside was pool was closed. Would definitely stay here again!

- dawnmI330QU (2/5): FEEDING RACCOONS and DEAD BIRD IN ROOM - I made a reservation through hotels.com . Called before i made the reservation and asked how much for a room, without asking me how many people or what size room said $69. So i booked online for cheaper and went to check inn. I walked in and said i have a reservation for Majors. The assistant manager Arvind [--] said no we have no reservations. I said i booked it online. He said well our internet is down. He then tried calling someone leaving me standing in the lobby why he went outside to use the phone and sat in his van . When Mr [--] came in he said okay i got you a 2 bed queens room. Just give me your id and credit card. He then presided to tell me If you give me $10 more dollars i will put you on the first floor. I said no way i can go upstairs and so can my kids i have with me. I went out to get my children one whom is an adult and one who is 12 years old. He stopped us saying wait wait like my 12 year old was an adult. After checking in The internet wasn't working so i went to the front desk and spoke with a gentleman who said Mr [--] will be back in 20 minutes and you can ask him. I went back to my room and turned the TV on and it said we had a tornado warning for counties around us. I wasn't sure what county we were in so I went out to the desk to ask. Nobody was there for about 10 minutes so i went back to my room and waited for about 5 minutes. Went back out there and Mr Arvind [--] was back. I asked him what county we are in . He said I DONT KNOW. Why? I responded there are tornado warnings out and i was trying to find out if we are in the path and needed to take cover. He said loudly I don't care What do you want me to do save you? I said no just tell me the county we are in so i can be prepared. He said he doesn't know. An African American gentleman employee by the name of Mike (I believe) walked by and overheard and said miss i can help you. Took me to a computer and told me the county and showed me the Doppler and told me he would come tell me if we were in the direct path and needed to take shelter. Very nice gentleman who was very courteous. Went back to my room and looked down at the floor as i was walking in and there on the floor is a DEAD BIRD!! So i started inspecting the room even more and came across wrappers and trash under the bed and someones hat laying on the floor on the far side of the bed . Dead flies in the window pain. The handle and door plate was filthy and i wiped it with a washcloth and it was GREEN!. Yes the door handle and plate was green. Dead leaves on the floor in two spots. There was a penny on the floor, holes in the wall in the bathroom and food crumbs in the dresser drawer. The air conditioner in our room leaked onto the carpet and was soaked when we woke up. The phone rang in the room so i picked it up and what do you know, Broken, caller couldn't hear me at all. I took pics and went out to ask Why on earth is there a dead bird in my room and trash under bed and hat on floor and holes in the walls and filthy door plates and handles and if they could tell me who called because phone is filthy and broken. After it started raining it was like a flood in the lobby and the hallways. The entrance to the lobby literally had an inch of water and no signs or anything like a bucket in that location. Mr Arvind [--] presided to tell me well you have been here 4 hours, then he changed to 3 hours then 2 because he had known that it was just over 1 hour. He then said that I put all the trash under bed and filthy the door handle and then scolded me for using his washcloth to wipe door handle saying you ruined MY washcloth. I told him it needed wiped and i wasn't using my clothes. He then called me a pain i the butt! Asked me why my husband isn't handling this. Very sexist remarks made by this man. I asked him what his name was and he said hes not telling me. I said you are in customer service and you wont give me your name ? He said Im NOT customer Service Im front desk. Another guest came out because he heard MR Arvind [--] was yelling and cursing at me at this point. He handed me Mr [--] business card and said there is his name. He made my wife cry. He really enjoys making women and children upset. Mr [--] then said you just leave and i give you money back. I said great and started walking away and turned around and said OK give me my money and we will leave. He said no i wont. You didn't pay me. Another employee came to me and said that hes sorry but Mr [--] tells people that all the time but will not give back money. At this point i went pack to my room and called hotels.com who then presided to call the hotel to see they could rectify the situation. Hotels.com called me back and said im sorry miss but he cursed me out and hung up on me. They promised a swimming pool which there wasn't one, The room was Filthy , i was treated poorly my the assistant manger Mr [-]] who told me he dont give a f*ck if i call corporate and the health department. We saw an Employee spreading bags of dog food right out by the side door which if you are facing the building its on the right end. we asked what he was doing and we were told that he is feeding raccoons otherwise they will get into the hotel. So they are feeding wild animal right next to the door. Im talking 2 feet! The air conditioner in our room leaked onto the floor. Very disappointing. Never been treated like this anywhere that i am paying money to stay .. State Mandate for masks yet manager and front clerk who came in later wore nothing
- emym0205 (2/5): DONT COME HERE - Warning don’t come here. It’s the filthiest hotel ever. Dead bugs everywhere the door handle is green with grime and filth. There was a DEAD BIRD found under the bed alone with a disguising black baseball cap. When you ask for the assistant manager he said I don’t care about you. There was a tornado warning. A TORNADO WARNING THEY DIDNT WARN US THEY SAID I DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. Stains all over the towels. The phone wasn’t even plugged in and was covered in filth and grime. The dont disturb sign is cracked down the middle dripping with some type of liquid and dirt. DO NOT STAY HERE I REPEAT DONT STAY HERE!!! There was a gentleman in a room near us who came out when my mother was being yelled at by some Indian guy who CAN’T SPEAK CLEAR ENGLISH!! He said the assistant manager made his wife cry that he was having the same experience as us

Also prepare to spend extra than what is mentioned to get around their ridiculous $150 deposit for a $50 room . Shower was messed up. They feed stray animals right outside one of the exits. When you look at the back of the hotel it is trashy. Siding left on one side. Poor painting in room. Also there are bugs.

A little apprehensive, the group arrived later in the day and this person was very kind and accommodating, offering a room upgrade at the same cost and doing all they could to ensure a positive experience. It's a no-frills establishment so don't go in expecting the lap of luxury, but the room was cleaned and just fine, and this was exactly what was needed for the week-long stay. As animal lovers, we really appreciated that they have a place built outside for cats to eat, drink, and stay warm. Thank you for the experience.

- Sally (6/5): Beware if you stay at Knights Inn St. Clairsville, - Beware if you stay here. We prepaid for our reservation. When we got there, we were told we had to either pay an extra $20 for the room, or pay $150 deposit in case of damages. We were told we would get the $150 back within a week. We chose that option, instead of paying an extra $20 for the room. As of today, 30 days later, we have not gotten the $150 back. I had to put a claim in on our charge card to get the $150 back!

We stayed weeks at a time for our work and never once did we have any problems.

But when I started seeing more and more I got concerned and in the sheets. We got a room with a jacuzzi in it as a nice little romantic escape and the jacuzzi had scum on it that I had to clean off. The water smelled funny. After I finally convinced my boyfriend into going somewhere else I went downstairs to complain and they told me it wasn't their problem. They'd switch me rooms. It was disgusting I told them to keep the money. I wanted to run away from here as quick as possible. It needs shut down!

We checked in,and after 19 hours of traveling,we went straight to bed. -This was when I acquired about the pool,bar lounge,and gaming room that's advertised with the hotel. I was told none of these were available. The pool had been on renovation for the last 8 years and the owner got busted selling drugs so they couldn't sell alcohol.after this we went out to dinner and eventually went back to our room and stayed the night in room #123. Before I went to bed,hotels.com sent me an email asking about my hotel and how my accommodations were. I was honest with hotels.com that I was a little upset that the hotel had none of the amenities listed and the hotel did not look anything like the pictures from the website. I was also upset that directly outside our bedroom was a large bag of cat food that was cut completely open to feed the racoon's. -apparently hotels.com contacted the Knights Inn directly to ask for compensation or refund. When we came down to leave for lunch Arvind Patel,the assistant manager, saw us and got very upset saying "why the hell are you requesting a refund that's f****** Bull**** we dont handle refund you talk to hotels.com" cursing a lot and eventually degrading us. upon returning around 8pm we were completely chastised and yelled at by Arvind who was very frustrated,and angrily throwing things around.He refused to give me copies of the paper work I signed and continued to curse. We left immediately.

- wvhunter1968 (2/5): Horrible - I got locked into staying here for business through my company as it was the last room in town. After a long day at a local hospital I had dinner up the road and drove over here. Normally I stay down the road and I've never complained about a stay here in town in 2 years. I walk in and there are cats at the entrance being fed with bowls. Front area smelled like pee. I check in at front desk and the front office man, rude and showed no customer service skills whatsoever. Truly a "I don't care about you" attitude. He nods his head to direct me to my room. I happen to be near the vending machines and my room caught ALL the noise from vending and rooms on both sides of me. The man in the room next to me was watching a movie and it sounded like his TV was on my bed!! Every cough, chip crunch, fart and pee break in full HD. The chain lock to my door was hanging by a drywall screw with the metal doorframe bent like it had been broken in. The painting throughout room was incomplete throughout and splatter on a lot of things. Just areas flat out missed with one coat and clearly visible paint splotches under the new layer. The remote was greasy and gross. Noises in hallway all night like somebody was repairing something then at 715am hammering noises that I recorded under the door with my phone about 3 doors down. It was the worst nights sleep I've ever gotten. I then walk out my door in the morning and really just wanted out. I swing by the breakfast area anyways as its free food and literally just kept on going and went to a drive thru place down the road. Never again will I stay here. My coworker at my next job in the morning then told me the reputation of this hotel and let's just say that this place is well known for lots of things that I want to stay clear of.

When we turned on the heat in our room, it smelled hot and then the fire alarm went off. We had a handicap accessible shower, but when it was used the bathroom flooded and water started to run under the bathroom door. View from our room was beautiful, except for all the trash and construction materials at the back of the hotel .
