BIGGEST scam ever when we arrived they notified us that their was a cleaning fee that had to be paid thru cash app $98 that we weren't aware of when booking! No hotel ever does that, the owners are super rude and they keep this money for themselves. Also the cleaning lady goes thru your personal stuff. my straightner went missing from my luggage. They also turn off your Ac while you're gone! If you're planning to stay the 24hrs of the day at this hotel their is also an extra free for that $85 extra. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

• Verified traveler (4/5): Terrible Stay - Despite calling ahead to say I’d be in late, it took awhile for anyone to answer the door and no one answered the phone so it left me as a lone woman in the dark outside a motel at 1:30am. Then they questioned multiple times what type of room I booked. Why didn’t they do that when I called hours earlier instead of after I’d driven 12 hours and just wanted sleep? Then when I did get my room key, it didn’t work, and they had to get me a different one. In the morning, around 9am, housekeeping knocked on my door waking me up, to clean the room though checkout was not for another 2 hours. Thirty minutes later I get another knock on the door from a different staff member, who was walking around with her little barking dogs, waking me up again, asking me if I had a car at the hotel. What did it matter, I was checking out soon?? Clearly staff does not communicate with each other nor do they care about their customers’ experiences at the motel. The room isn’t terrible but not disgusting, but not good.

But when we needed toilet paper, there was no toilet paper in the office. She had to wait until housekeeping got here at eight clock 830 but we need toilet paper at 6:30 so that was not good at all. They should’ve had some toilet paper locked up that if you needed it, you could get one.

• Geezak007 (8/5): Saved Trip! - After what can only be described and a horrifying experience in a Liberal Kansas hotel, along comes the Rodeway Inn. Not one for the posh experience , I do like parking by my door, the privacy of the exterior rooms and the quiet of the old mom n' pop hotel. This hotel was exactly that, but they have really done a nice job as update the old with the new. Family ran they all put their best foot forward to each of their customers to make them comfortable. The place was very clean and everything was in working order. I have to say that I found the place after a very bad experience that I moved out half way through my trip. For some reason, which I have not figured out why yet, this town has an abundance of hotels. Stopping point for truckers, conventions or maybe Dorothy's House is way more popular than I realize, but there are a lot of options. So I drove around and looked for the one with the most cars, thinking there must be something to it. It worked cause the place had 1 room left which was fine with me. You would be surprised how many literally had 1 car out front and if you think about it, that was probably the guy behind the desk. So I would probably be safe to say, I'm not the only one who liked the place.

• 917cherylr (10/5): Great place - I’ve stayed here twice. The first time by accident, but it was cheap and the end of a vacation. I was shocked as it was the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. It’s not high end, but everything works, the beds are comfy and best of all clean. This week, we are on the same route two years later, so we stayed again, but unfortunately not at the trip advisor rate but again, clean, quiet and safe. No partying in the next room. Clean carpet, bathroom and sheets. Awesome place!

He said they did but he couldn’t change it on the computer and that it was $11.00 dollars to upgrade and I had to pay cash! I gave home a 20.00 and didn’t check my change right away but in the room I saw it was only 4 dollars! May not have been intentional but just left me with an icky feeling! Otherwise it was okay!

Kind of disappointed at that. Breakfast is either cereal or a mini pastry and coffee or milk. I guess for the price, that's all I could expect for breakfast though.
• Don (8/5): - Quick check-in, very nice owner/manager, comfortable bed, clean room. Old heater so I had to turn it on and off but it warmed the room. Noisy location due to truck and train traffic. My earplugs saved me. Good value but be aware of the racket since it's on US 54 in town. There are a bunch of stop lights on that street, creating stop and go for the truckers who use it as a connecting road to and from I-40 down in New Mexico.

• grannynorma (2/5): Very unclean - We went to Liberal, and booked at Roadway Inn because we had stayed with Roadway in other towns. This is the worst place ever. The wall lights didn't work, the air conditioner had the vent cover off and was nasty. the bathroom had not been cleaned in forever. Light switch had a bent cord. I talked to the manager, Ken Bhakta and his wife, Nisha Bhakta. and he said we would get a refund, but am still working on that. The pictures on the website is very deceiving. This place is nothing like the pictures. No nice reception and coffee area. Just a walking up counter, and one table and chairs. DO NOT STAY HERE. MY GRANDDAUGHTER CALLED IT A "NO TELL MOTEL"
• QuietmanTravels (10/5): Great Motel with Clean Rooms - Liberal is the stopping point when coming back from Arizona and have stayed at several places over the years. This time stayed at the Rodeway Inn. We have started staying at the motels where we can back up to the room, unload what is needed, then reload in the morning. The staff/manager is friendly, the place is clean, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Room had refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, clean and comfortable bed. Great internet and TV. This has become our back up to the room motel in Liberal for the futre.

• bobhud (6/5): Just a one night stay - Travelling through to New Mexico made reservations on AAA. Had no problem checking in. The property appears to be from the 50's or 60's, and looks to be maintained, meaning it is not run down. The gentleman at the desk was friendly. We discussed making sure the room was a non-smoking room and he ensured me it was. The room was just average, but clean. There was a slight odor in the room, which appeared to me as cigerette residue. After about 20 mins. it was not noticeable. The bed was comfortable and I had a desent night sleep. Soap and shampoo was provided for the morning shower. There was a coffee maker for coffee drinker and a refrigerator. Check out was easy.

It had a micro wave, refrigerator/freezer, and a coffee pot, which was nice for us. Television was new with good reception. Table and chairs and dresser was older, but nice. Bathroom tub area was really small and needed an upgrade. overall, we would stay there again

The shower was a little slick, but it was very clean. It was hot outside but the air conditioner worked great. Would look at staying here again.

This was my last night in liberal. don't get me wrong, the place was clean and the biggest complaint was the wifi service. As the place filled up and more people got on line, dial-up woulda been faster. I got up at 2:30am and it worked great. Lack of bandwidth is what i believe it's called. The room seemed small for the price paid! I don't have anything against the place; just that it seems someplace has to be better. we stayed at a quality inn, the next nite, $20 cheaper and 1000 times better!

Easy check-in, polite front desk girl, nicely cleaned and clean smelling room, clean bathroom, great WiFi, good AM hot coffee, quiet sleep and easy quick check-out... Not a big breakfast, (cold cereal, milk, orange juice, toast, prepackaged danish), available, however much cheaper than one with a large one; and close to breakfast restaurants. I would stay again without hesitation...

Old furnishings, shoddy repair jobs, and bare necessities. I got what I paid for, but would probably spring for a nicer place in Liberal the next time through. This property didn't seem up to the standards of other Rodeway properties.
• Chief00001 (2/5): Wrong from word go - Walked into office to check in and young girl perhaps 11 to 14 yrs old is behind counter. Okay no problem just odd. She is helpful and trying to get things done. Midway her father walks in and starts changing the room. Young girl keeps telling him "they paid for and reserved two queen size beds" he responds I don't care change to this room. This exchange goes on twice right in front of me. I elect to wait to see what is going on. Getting the keys we went to the room. Wow was I surprised (not) full size beds. Going back to the office I inquired as to what was going on? I was informed he elected to change rooms as the "furniture was better" in the new room. After some words I was able to get a room with queen beds. The hotel is in need of repair, furniture is in-fact old but we didn't use it anyway. Commode seat all but fell off. Room was very musty and not very clean. On the plus side internet work very good and tv was good. Recommendation: don't use this hotel. There are plenty to choose from in town right down the street. Unfortunately most are not on this site so I booked on line, don't make the same mistake I did.
• H7356EVnancyd (8/5): Super clean, great staff - Late arrival with no reservations. I tried reserving online, but had no service. They gave me a room with a parking space where I could back up to the door. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and quiet. There were lots of plugins available on the bedside table for my CPAP and chargers. Everything worked as expected, and I rested.

The heat system was old and a little difficult to get the right temperature, but it worked very well. I will definitely stay at this place if I find myself needing a room in Liberal again.

• larryfwi (8/5): Can't be beat! - If you are looking for a reasonable nights sleep in Liberal this is the place for you. Park in front of your door. Inside find a clean room with new beds that are still very comfortable. The owner was johnny on the spot when the lights over the bed didn't work. Had in a new room within minutes. Everything you could want for quick nights rest.
• Verified traveler (8/5): So so. - It wasn't HORRIBLE but it wasn't GREAT. The man who worked the front desk was nice considering that we woke up him up at 1am. The rooms need to be updated big time. I couldn't give much details about the shower because I didn't bother. The bathroom/bathtub was extremely small. Overall. I would stay here again for a place to crash.
• Timothy (4/5): Far less than I paid for and very dissappointing - I paid extra on line for a room with two queens- non smoking. I get to the property and they do not have the room I paid for. I had to take either a smoking room ( which was reserved for someone else) or a room with two doubles. The "continental breakfast" was without doubt the cheapest and worst I have ever seen laid out. They offered a choice of corn flakes or cheerios. There was a gallon of milk and apple punch. There was bread to make toast and extremely cheap, small and old sweetrolls whose frosting had long ago melted. That was the entire breakfast. Upon arrival I asked if they had a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste. He replied "No" and indicated that only they Hyatt would offer such amenities. I will never recommend this property to anyone and I will go out of my way to never stay there again.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Excessive charge for amenities - They have heating/cooling units that do not have thermostats, so you have to guess where to dial the temperature you want. I woke up dying of heat in the middle of the night. I didn't guess right. I went through hotels.com and was charged an additional $9 tax after I confirmed my reservation. So the posted rate did not include tax.
