- liketoexploreCo (10/5): Fantastic experience in Estes Park and the hotel. - Easy hotel to get to right on the edge of town. The views from that hotel are some of the best in town. I asked for a room with a view and that was granted. The check in was super easy, the people that helped me, Tim and J, were so friendly and helpful. I wish I was able to stay a bit longer to check out the area more and try some of their fantastic breakfast spread. I will be back to Estes Park and will hopefully be able to stay at this hotel again.

I didn't get a chance to explore everything, but the staff was so nice, I want to go back. The room was spacious, well appointed and clean. The bed was super comfortable. Shout-out to Tim, who made sure I was taken care of with my late arrival, and the other staff that took care of me at the front desk, Javeia, Tony and Tial. They definitely run a pet friendly hotel.

- B6080QFhannahl (2/5): Absolute Worst Experience - Drove 15 hours from Texas to stay here and arrived at check-in time only to find people in hazmat suits and the building completely shut down due to a fire. At no point were we notified this had happened. In fact, we received a confirmation email the night before as if everything was completely normal. Being left without a place to stay three states away after a 15-hour drive is beyond unacceptable. The lack of communication is honestly shocking. A simple email, call, or cancellation notice could have prevented us from showing up to a closed building with nowhere to go. If a property is literally shut down, notifying your guests should be the bare minimum.

The hotel itself is old and not everything is the neatest or cleanest, but their staff is always so incredibly friendly and accommodating and they have a 24 hr game room and an indoor pool for when you’re here in the winter months, and free unique breakfast! Any of the problems we had were not enough to justify less than 4 stars, especially for the price.

Location is perfect and close to downtown and Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff are friendly and always there to lend a hand. Special shout-out to Javeia and Tim for their warm hospitality. We will definitely stay again!

The room was incredibly dirty, and the front desk didn’t bother to take my requests about cleaning seriously that I had to directly ask the housekeeper, even after which we see that the bedsheets were just refolded and not changed. The laundry is in the arcade and not in a separate room (baffling choice) and the air conditioning is terrible if you need a good night sleep because it has a strong wind at the lowest fan setting. Sometimes I see bedsheets piled up near the stairs of the corridor overnight.

The maintenance strategy in the room appeared to be: more caulk will cover or fix everything. The breakfast was very unusual. It needed more protein type items and fresh cooked waffles vs thawed out eggo waffles would really elevate it. Also if the breakfast would open earlier.

- Heather (8/5): Dog friendly, clean, and convenient - You couldn’t beat the location and the room we stayed in was updated, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We loved that we could bring our dog. Breakfast was very unique and not the typical fair we expected. There was noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway…. Just everyday noise of guests getting settled in. It wasn’t anything a white noise machine couldn’t help with though.

- Cortney (10/5): Great overall experience and nice place for two night. We have a family of 4 and we fit comfortably in our room. - This was a very nice property. The layout is a bit funky but overall not too bad. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The location was convenient as we had rented a Jeep from Backbone Adventures as the primary activity during our two days in Estes Park. Backbone is pretty much right next door, could’ve walked there for our rental pickup. We got a room with a parking lot view, the view from the balcony wasn’t the best but we enjoyed it anyway. The balcony was also slightly sloped, which made standing out there a little odd at first.

- 109madison (10/5): Welcoming environment and wonderful hosts - My brother and I recently stayed at the Expedition Lodge to take an avalanche course in the park. We had plenty of space in the room for everything we needed for the skiing and the beds and furniture were clean and comfortable for a good nights' sleep. The environment in the common areas and of the lodge as a whole was warm and welcoming - I enjoyed eating early breakfasts downstairs and chatting with the staff. Most of all, Javeia and Tim were wonderful hosts and helped accommodate everything that came up during our stay with so much kindness. This will definitely be my go-to place to stay next time I'm up in Estes Park!

We went up looking of our room - I liked the location because of how close down town was and also how many restaurants were literally right across the street from the hotel. As well as having Estes Lake right across the street was nice. I don’t like that the hotel is like a maze, maybe it was the room we got but it seemed like forever to get from our room to the pool or the receptionist.

- 945aileend (10/5): Awesome stay in Estes! - We had a great stay in Expedition Lodge, Estes! Our stay was awesome! We had fun in the play room which is 24 hours open. Just have coins ready. The kids enjoyed the pool. The rooms were clean. Mr. Tim is very friendly and accomodating. The location is accessible to the lake.The price was affordable!

The rooms are no nonsense with the necessary comforts for a day in town or hiking at the park. And a stellar breakfast until 10! Very family friendly, with a great video game room, with a pool, and board games. A great stay.

Playing in the arcade and eating the waffles were definitely highlights. Javeia and Tim are superstars! They ensured that we were comfortable, and gave amazing suggestions for things to do nearby. They bring so much value to this space. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to the next one!

- Russell (7/5): Comfortable - Our two rooms were side by side. It was easy to find. Beds were comfortable, and room was certainly adequate for two friends, with two queen beds. The staff was also open to early check in. There was really noting to dislike.

- Sean (8/5): - I liked that the property was relatively close to many restaurants and the town of Estes. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I had troubles finding where to adjust the temperature in the room.
- N9400CVlancep (10/5): Expedition in Estes by Tim & Javeia - From the time I got there to the time I left the hospitality provided by Tim and Javeia was unmatched. From their warm demeanor to their wonderful suggestions of spots to hike to good food to where watch the sun rise. Ask about the brisket grill cheese spot!!! 🤤The amenities were great as well from arcade to pool to balcony to watch the stars. I’m thankful for their care and hospitality. They even joined me on one of the spots they recommended.
- covab2025 (10/5): Outstanding service and comfort - Me and my cousin stayed overnight traveling back from Idaho after a hunting trip. Tim checked us in around midnight and he was extremely friendly and informative about the area around town. The room was clean and comfortable. We could see mule deer outside our window and had a great view in the morning. The staff is the all star though, everyone was very friendly and polite. Tim was my favorite person I met the entire trip. He’s brilliant, kind, and professional. Thank you again, and I’ll be sure to stay again when we’re in the area.

- Courtney (8/5): Would come back. - The breakfast was unique. The saltwater pool was great, kids loved it. Our room had a balcony, that was nice too! I tried to reach the front desk via phone(8 times!), could not get through. Two of those times it was like someone picked up, but there was no connection through. A few went to voicemail, but was then told this was not supported, so I couldn't leave one. We finally figured out the issue on our own (the directv wouldn't connect, husband had to get behind the unit...wasn't plugged in. Had to unplug the microwave to have an outlet for the tv) but communication needs to be improved.

- 655sandeepd (10/5): Great experience and close to National Park - It was very comfortable all modern amenities. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety. Staff was excellent and super helpful. Great place to stay and 15 min to Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. Perfect.
- Jennifer (9/5): Great/convent place to stay - The property was conveniently located near RMN park. Estes Park was a nice little town to explore. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and things to do. Laundry was a plus. The rooms were dated and could have been cleaned better. The floors had dirt on them that stuck to your feet. The bathroom sink didn’t have a stopper so the drain gunk was right there in your face. The shower was plumbed weird and it was hard to find the right water temperature.

- 915caliad (10/5): Loved this place - We decided to arrive earlier than expected for our trip, so I was thrilled to find a room for a good deal. The manager was explaining to us that Expedition Lodge is a newer brand in town - I wouldn't have known that had they not said anything though, because their passion for the area and for their guests was amazing. My family felt so welcomed and I wish we had stayed here for our entire trip! We had a great time and will definitely be back.
