- Sophie (10/5): Amazing location, this hotel is a real treat. - A hidden gem, loved everything about this hotel, looked amazing. Star gazing terrace was excellent.
Food was like fine dining. Bar closed at 9pm or when restaurant closed which felt too early as not much else to do there in the evening.
Should be 11pm.
- Tony (6/5): - The location, The nice design unit the well maintained out side The unit needs good cleaning. There was a rat in the unit that did not leave. Before we slept the rat got on top of the couch and ran around. When we moved the couch there was a lot of rat droppings. Place had not been cleaned. When we checked in, there was a power failure, the Hotel did not even provide us a Flash light. We were with our cell phone lights for about 2 hours

- Gareth (9/5): Truly an oasis in the desert - minor improvements could make it 10/10 - Location was fantastic, the room large and comfortable, view from balcony amazing, pool area very nice, nice historic building Noisy Aircon in room, entrance from road was unassuming, some construction traffic noise around the pool area, close to car park, more signs to pool needed - wandered garden trying to find the pool in 40 degree heat was a bit frustrating!!!
- Ian (10/5): Perfect - Everything Nothing
- Linda (10/5): 1000% aan te bevelen! - Prachtige locatie, kamers, tuin, zwembad.

- MinnesotaBuckeye (10/5): Serene & Green - We had such a wonderful experience staying at the Inn at Death Valley from May 7-9, 2026. Even though it was unseasonably hot for this time of year even by Death Valley standards, we knew that once we entered the grounds it truly was like entering an oasis - palm trees, bubbling little creeks, small ponds and lush greenery were such a contrast to the scorching eartht-tone desert landscape just outside. We loved eating breakfast and dinner outside on the terraces and walking the gardens and cooling off in the spring-fed pool. We had a great view from our 3rd floor balcony and it was beautiful just to sit outside and soak in the view. We will definitely return some day!
- Robert (10/5): Great stay at The Inn at Death Valley - Hard to articulate how nice this property is, the cleanliness and responsiveness of staff is way above par. I had a wonderful time at the Inn at Death Valley and Will return again. A little pricey but worth every penny
- Peter (9/5): Idyllic hotel in a beautiful location - would definitely return. - Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff in a beautiful situation. Really nice pool and good restaurant and public areas. Bedroom was on the small side and water pressure wasn't great.
- magali (10/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): Very nice - The room was nice. The mattress is very good. The view was very good. I like the patio out in front of room 109. The view was great. I would come back again. The food in the restaurant was a 7 1/2 on a scale. The Wine by the Glass list was wanting. I am a sommelier and have a clue. You can call me and I will tell you what was wrong with the wine list by Glass.
- Andrew (9/5): Great stay wished had booked longer. - Great location and the use of golf carts to get about very helpfull. Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Fab location, friendly staff, lovely pool. Food was ok, we visited the ranch one evening and there was more choice and b - Fantastic location, amazing views, a true oasis Room could have been cleaner. Flooring was grubby in the bathroom and the bedroom carpet was in need a vacuum and shampoo.
- Laurent (9/5): Superbe lieu. - Le lieu, la piscine, le jardin. La vue du balcon. Le bruit de la clim. Les oreillers.
- showar405846 (8/5): If you're an adult - don't choose the sofa bed - The property and location is absolutely breathtaking. Gorgeous and well kept grounds and amenities. Prepare for limited dining options, most are at their other property a little less than a mile down the road, but not really walkable. If you choose a casita with thoughts of adults sleeping on the sofa bed - reconsider! The mattresses are old, provide no cushioning above the coils and are extremely hard to get comfortable on. Bedding provided doees not include a mattress pad so you feel all of the hard springs.
- Fe00000 (10/5): Amazing place - This place is amazing!
The only hotel in Death Valley. The structure of hotel is very good! Has a nice restaurant, pool, gym and plenty of space to chill and relax.
Staff was very nice to us as well!
Breakfast was not included in our stay but we tried one day and it was delicious!
- Sharon (8/5): - The food was excellent at the Inn restaurant. limited food options, confusing situation between the two properties - Inn and Ranch - was hard to distinguish what was where - especially online before booking
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): It was what it was - Very pretty Not convenient for those with walking problems
- Amit (10/5): - Truly ‘In the middle of nowhere id rather be’. it has everything you need. property is very beautiful and well maintained, peaceful and calm; and staff add essence. The pool is amazing.
- Mateusz (7/5): - Hvac system was on all the time. Not possible to turn off or reduce power. Constant noise.
- David (7/5): -

Overig personeel was overigens heel vriendelijk.

- eaglesfriarsfoxes (8/5): General Store vs. Furnace Creek Visitor Center - BEWARE of expired milk and insane food prices at the General Store at the Ranch.
Picked up a quart of milk - it was a week old. I brought it to the cashiers attention - he said he's been meaning to remove it from the refrigerator.
Also, a PB&J sandwich at the Furance Creek Visitor Center was $4.75 - at the General Store $10.00 - same exact sandwich.
Suggestion - purchase sandwiches and drinks for hiking at the Visitor Center NOT the General Store.
- Adriana (5/5): Not worth the money - The room was comfortable After a very long and exhausting drive, the last thing you expect is a confusing arrival — but that’s exactly what we experienced here. There was no clear signage indicating where to check in, and we had to drive around trying to figure it out. We only managed thanks to a staff member we happened to spot, who pointed us in the right direction. The entrance is not intuitive at all and quite impractical.
At check-in, the front desk experience was equally disappointing. Instead of showing any understanding or basic empathy for tired guests arriving in extreme heat, the staff simply said that things were this way because of construction. No acknowledgment, no effort to make the situation better — just a dismissive attitude.
The room itself is fine, nothing special. The food is also average at best.
Overall, not the level of service or hospitality you would expect, especially after a long journey.
- jm13author (10/5): Wonderful - A must stay for Death Valley. The location is perfectly situated between all the best scenic stops. The pool is big and warm with strong return jets for those achy muscles. The gym overlooks pool, has new machines and AC is freezing in a good way! The restaurant is not as good as other properties in National Parks but there are plenty of options.
- Maichi (8/5): Convenient location and pleasant surroundings. The outdoor patio and dining area were enjoyable. - Cozy accommodations. Breakfast menu and service were excellent. Good choice of healthy options. The centralized temperature control system did not allow us to turn off or manage the air conditioning and fan speed.
- michaelseanryan (8/5): Beware the parking situation - The available parking is very difficult to access from the hotel, it's a long walk on a steep hill. There were golf standing by with drivers that weren't eager to assist.
- paulnX8350AX (6/5): The outdoor grounds are amazing, but the hotel is not - This hotel seems tired, and so is the staff. It badly needs a refresh and the energy of its sister property, the Ranch, to be infused here. Musty and dusty carpets in the halls and in the rooms need to go. It's not a rustic feel, it's an old grandma house with some lipstick put on it feel. Bathrooms are great - modern and clean, but our room was just a tired place with old furniture, flickery lamp lights andcreaky floors.
Restaurant service was painfully slow - after an hour of waiting for our meals I had to search for anyone who could resolve the situation, and while the food eventually did show up, nobody from the management would. Same goes for bell desk service - same slow and confused service. While people are nice, it seems they are just as tired as the hotel.
The grounds are amazing, and so is the pool, but you don't sleep in the pool or in the pond - the facility itself needs updating. It seems the primary focus right now is flash flood water management - the construction is going full speed, but that also means the elevator is not accessible from the parking lot, so to get to the hotel entrance you walk up and down car ramps.
- Vacation01349557014 (10/5): Truly an oasis - This is truly an oasis. The hotel, grounds, room and restaurant are spectacular. Death Valley is a must see destination and this is where you should stay.
- David (9/5): -
- James (10/5): -
- TRVLtruth (10/5): Best of All National Park Accommodations! - This remote and historic hotel set in one of the most unique national parks in the US, is by far the most luxurious and well run property of all the national park hotels and lodges.
The boutique-size hotel is plus, beautifully decorated, and has a fantastic staff! The cusiine in the welcming dining room is on pointe and delicious - with a special call out to craetive desserts and homebaked breads that change daily.
The rooms are charming, well-appoitned, historical quarters that are well mainteained, and have great lighting in the small, but beautifully tiled bathrooms. There are also plenty of thoughtful amenities. Out deluxe kind had a stunning balcony conencting out three rooms wiht a grove of swawing palms just outside.
The pool is spring-fed and HUGE. I only wish the pool side cafe/snack bar was open during our stay. There is a massage room, sauna and gym and a sense of history well maintained - but not stuffy.
We had no idea what to expect, and were prepared for anthing, given the mixed bag of other national park lodges - but left completly in love with The Inn at Death Valley, the stellar staff, and incredible cusine and perfect guest room. It feels like a Rosewood property, and that is a very good thing.
- Lindsay (10/5): -
- mcswite (6/5): Hard times - The Inn is not what it used to be. Deteriorating and needs maintenance and cleaning. Housekeeping was awful.
A sad state of affairs at a beautiful property.

- andycinmd1 (6/5): Great but cleanliness issues - The Inn is strategically located in an ideal part of Death Valley. Easy drives to prime attractions. It is truly an oasis in the park. While I appreciate the Inn exists we had some issues. I do not mean to bash this place, but this was our experience. When we arrived, there was a strong odor in the room. Musty, disinfectant, stale, persistent. Not sure the cause but it was strong and off-putting. Our toilet had urine all around the bowl, Obviously, it had not been cleaned, We always carry Lysol or Clorox wipes so we cleaned it ourselves. Additionally, there was a used hand towel on the floor by the sink, and the toilet seat would not stay up. An issue for most men. We reported theses issues to the reception desk, and while they were very apologetic and even offered to move us to another room, the issues were seemingly not addressed as the towel remained on the floor, the seat still did not stay up and well, we cleaned the toilet. Why did we stay? Frankly, we were tired and this was the end of a long trip. It was easier to deal with these issues then unpack, and relocate to a different room with potentially similar issues.
On the plus side, the room was nice enough. Considering where the Inn is located, they had adequate staff who were all pleasant, The restaurant was surprisingly good. We have stayed at other National Park lodging and this is definitely a cut above. However, it is expensive, and given the cost I would not have expected anything less regarding service and amenities. I do expect a clean room, regardless of the location,
We would stay there again, should we decide to go back to Death Valley. The property is very nice. There are a lot of steps to navigate. The front is under construction to alleviate flooding issues - yes, it sometimes rains there. Parking is somewhat limited, but they usually had some golf carts to carry luggage to reception. That was helpful, but not always available.
Staff were all good, and if it hadn't been for the cleanliness and strong odor in the room, it would have been spectacular.
- William (10/5): Can’t wait to go back! - Great hotel and amenities. Good food. Nothing
- JEAN MICHEL (9/5): -
- William (6/5): Overall ok but pricey - Air conditioning inadequate. Set to 70 degrees unit 78 or higher no feeling of active A/C. Reported 3 times not corrected Inadequate staffing pool snack store closed
- 605aprily (2/5): Raw sewage stench. Extremely disappointing! - My room & bathroom wreaked of raw sewerage. The smell was so overwhelming, I couldn’t sleep. I went to the front desk & they sent someone from housekeeping to “clean” it. They arrived & sprayed scented something or other all over the floor & left. Obviously this didn’t help. I called the front desk nicely asking for a new room. They declined. I asked for a refund. They offered me a 15% discount. I am extremely disappointed with our experience.
I would also just give you a heads up about the food. The buffet is subpar for lunch & dinner. I would suggest trying one of the other hotel options.
- Paul (7/5): Very nice hotel. Helpful staff. Unfortunately the smell is not great. - Location. Swimming pool. Unpleasant sewage smell.
- nancymZ7496QP (10/5): Beautiful oasis in Death Valley - Charming historic inn with beautiful grounds. We loved our visit here. The food at the Inn was delicious, the rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable.
- Urska (10/5): -
- Natalia (9/5): - The property was beautiful and in a convenient location for sight seeing within the park. The spa services offered were wonderful as well! The walls were a little thin, not ideal for a light sleeper if you don't have ear plugs packed with you
Could have had more shaded seating at the pool given the intense heat from the sun
- Nancy (8/5): -
- TrailBlazer278836 (8/5): Pretty & Unique Setting - The setting is stunning, the landscaping is beautiful and the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed the pool - it was so pretty and the water temperature was perfect. However, the Pool Cafe was closed and there was no water station at the pool, which was surprising given the air temperature in later March. (There was just a drinking fountain by the bathroom.) The rooms were nice overall but the a/c was loud and there was no a/c vent in the bathroom, so it got warm in there. The power also went out on our last day and the room warmed up very quickly. One thing I wasn’t prepared for is the food options and bar close pretty early, even elsewhere at the Oasis at Death Valley. I would recommend having dinner reservations somewhere every night during peak season. Also, make sure to visit the ice cream parlor - it was a fun place and the staff there were excellent. I believe the bar at the Inn also closed at around 9 pm on Saturday night. I would recommend staying here as it is a unique and pretty place, but make sure to prepare your dining options in advance.
- kb147 (10/5): Magical Place - Staying here was a magical experience especially in light of the "superbloom" occurring this year in Death Valley. We were only able to book one night on short notice but truly enjoyed it.
- Kathy (6/5): -
- Yu-Che (9/5): - The location, which is in the heart of the national park.
- M8073TVpeterl (10/5): Great time...even with 108 degree temps! - We stayed the week of March 17 for 4 nights. The temps reached 108 while we were there. That's not what we had planned but the weather is unpredictable. The resort was outstanding. We stayed in a Casita which was very comfortable, but it's expensive. Look for discounts that are often on Xanterra site. Pros: Location is amazing to get to many of the great things in the park. Pool is great (but there's not a ton of shade so go later in the day ..we went at 4 or 5 to get an umbrella or cabana). The food was decent...not great, not horrible. Jack was our server a few nights and he was great. The grounds are magnificent and the staff went above an beyond to make our stay comfortable. We had great hikes and drives and managed around the temps. Cons: There are not too many selections for food in the area. The stargazing deck was good but we found the entire stargazing experience in the park to be very average. The lights from Vegas impact the clarity. We were expecting the darkest skies we ever saw but we've seen much darker where the milky way just stood out so much better. We even went to one of the recommended viewing areas (Borax Works). We loved the park and the Oasis.
- Cung (9/5): Very enjoyable stay. Will be back in the future. - Ideal location to explore the park. Very well maintained property.
- FranticMom (6/5): The only game in town - Literally! - If you want to stay in a hotel in this part of Death Valley, your only choice is the Oasis Inn or Ranch. We stayed at the Inn at close to $500 a night. Not a good value. Our room was adequate and almost clean. (didn't say anything about that cause I believe the housekeeping staff is probably the bottom rung and has enough trouble).
The pool is beautiful and quite a haul from the main building. Yet, the poolside cafe was 'closed for the season'. Cannot even get a water. We were just there - mid March - if that's not season when is??
We were warned that the parking lot was being overhauled but not that half the golf course was also under renovation (could've mentioned that when we made a tee time!)
Some of the front desk people were cluless andsometimes MIA.
They do have a perfect set up for stargazing.
We opted for the Inn as the Ranch was advertised for families. However, if you're gonna go, stay at the Ranch.
- tarzan99 (10/5): The hotel alone can be the destination - We've stopped her several times as an overnight on a long road trip. A little out of the way, but the Inn is such a pleasure to stay in. Beautiful rooms, beautiful public spaces, views of the valley, lovely grounds and gorgeous pool. The staff is wonderful and welcoming, especially the bartender. He is terrific. It is one of our favorite hotels anywhere.
- ericfO1285BB (8/5): Oasis Inn at Death Valley - Great location for sightseeing in the National Park. Swiming pool is excellent, as is the rooftop deck for stargaving at night. Be aware that dining room reservations fill early and the pathways to the pool and garden have uneven pavers and steps making it diffult to access if you have an unsteady gait. There also is a senior discount, you have to ask for it at the time of making reservations.
- m_j_s_23563 (4/5): Great location, but nowhere near worth the price - We stayed at The Inn at Death Valley for two nights and paid about $1,500 including tax. At that level, this hotel is pricing itself as a luxury property, but in our experience it did not deliver a luxury stay.
The biggest positive is the location. There are only a couple of main places to stay in Death Valley, and being based here is undeniably convenient. The grounds are pleasant enough, but I would not describe them as beautiful or particularly impressive.
The room itself was perfectly fine, but that was the problem: it was only fine. The A/C rattled, there were no robes, and nothing about the room felt remotely in line with the price. Overall, it felt much more like a $300-per-night room than a genuinely high-end hotel. I understand the property is historic, and that may place some limits on what can be done physically, but even allowing for that, the overall experience simply did not feel luxurious.
Service also fell short of what the rates imply. At breakfast in the main restaurant, some guests had been waiting over an hour for food, yet the maitre d’ did not seem aware there was a problem. There was nowhere reliable to buy snacks or drinks on site, and the small shop by the pool was not functioning during our stay. A light by our staircase was not working. When we called to ask for the sauna to be turned on, we were just told to do it ourselves, which again might be acceptable at a cheaper hotel, but not one charging these kinds of prices.
What makes the poor value even more frustrating is that the same company also operates the cheaper property down the road, so there is very limited real competition in this part of Death Valley. That makes the pricing feel harder to justify.
In the end, this is a convenient place to stay if you want to be in Death Valley itself, but it is massively overpriced for what you actually get. We expected a luxury experience and did not come close to receiving one.
- Kathy (9/5): Fantastic setting, in the heart of Death Valley. - Spectacular setting, beautiful swimming pool. Small rooms for King size bed. Very slow service in the restaurant, marginal food
- julie (5/5): Confusion re: construction, parking, lobby, stairs with and without railings, and pool access. - It is located in the main hub of Death Valley on a small hill with a view of the valley. The pool was large, 85 degrees and not too busy. Check in was rough because they were working on parking lot elevator and signs were confusing as to what to do with luggage, etc. The entire National Park had to turn the electricity off on check-out day from 8 - 4:00 PM. We had plenty of texts to warn and remind us but they never sent info or shared about how they would help us clients or even compensate us. No lights, coffee maker, A/C, ice maker, refrigerator, phone to call the bell desk or elevator. Catapillars everywhere - especially in the pool.
- Kathy (10/5): Beautiful location and excellent hotel - Beautiful resort, grounds are incredible. Great location in the park. There was some construction going on that made it challenging to get in and out. But it was necessary for future improvements
- Patricia (8/5): It’s a beautiful property and the room was very comfortable. The arrival experience was a bit of a disappointment- not j - Location and the architecture. Room was well sized. Reception staff need to be trained.
- Gregory (4/5): Great location inside Death Valley, but if you’re expecting five star hotel hospitality, stay in Las Vegas. - Exceptional location and views of the valley. Charming historic structure with nostalgic appeal. The property is in poor repair. Inconvenient and inadequate parking in dirt lots. Ongoing construction makes navigating the property difficult, especially with inadequate and unlit signage at night. The staff were extremely unfriendly and inhospitable, obviously overworked and underpaid.
- Todd (9/5): - Great place to stay in an amazing part of the world

- Tara (8/5): Best place to stay in Death Valley but set your expectations that it IS a national park. - Location is excellent. Inn restaurant was the best in the park. Room quality was poor and issues with one of our two rooms were not resolved

- Lundquist (9/5): - Beautiful resort oasis setting in amazing Death Valley National Park. Dining options. Remote location makes limited options very pricey!
- Nicole (6/5): We paid a lot of money for 2 nights for a sub par experience. - Beautiful landscaping Rock hard mattress. No robes provided in room as stated. Hard to find your way around the premises. Elevator is rickety. Food was overpriced and burned.
