• Carolyn (7/5): - The staff at check-in was very kind and helpful. The room had everything I needed (fridge, bed, bathroom, desk). The hotel is situated in such a beautiful area, and there is a fantastic coffee drive-thru around the corner. It was pretty dated and the furniture was a bit a worn, but it was clean enough.
• Joe (7/5): Overall, I was pleased with my stay and I would stay there again. - The breakfast was very good. Your staff was excellent, Friendly and professional. Rooms were clean. And pretty well set up. No phone number available until after I made a reservation. The upstairs room squeaked very loudly all night whenever they were walking around. The screws were coming out of my chair, I let the staff know. They said they would take care of it.You should check all your chairs at the minimum of one a time a year. It’s a lot cheaper than then a lawsuit for a broken chair.

But we still didn’t have hot water in the morning. It was finally fixed so we could shower before we left. We were also way overcharged; typo error, but it was corrected fairly quickly.

• Carolyn (2/5): Dissatisfied 100% - The location was good for our necessary layover, and thank goodness my friend could switch her room. (See additional comments). The room was filthy corner to corner. A deep clean was needed months ago or longer. The carpet was vacuumed only in pathways, and the bathroom floors needed scrubbing desperately to the point of visible grime in the vinyl floor. I My room was ADA/handicapped. I was shocked to see a standard tub without a step-in shower and, without an adjustable hand-held shower wand. *Be advised that there is no elevator* The lighting was lacking, too, and the wall sconce next to the desk didn't work. The lights over the vanity were low wattage with a warm tint, so I put my makeup on next to the window. The DNA stains in the center of the desk chair and sofa were gross, so we sat on the edge of the bed. If you have no other place you can stay, ask for a 2nd floor room (if you can manage stairs), because this old motel lacks adequate insulation between rooms and the second floor. The guests arriving in the middle of the night kept me awake from 1:30 to 3:30am with slamming doors, talking, and since I was on ground level, all their showering and flushes of the toilet was ridiculously noisy. My friend had a separate room, and while unloading the car, she called me over to smell it. It smelled like what could ONLY be described as death-like odors. Nothing else to compare in nature or aerosol. After she wrote her review this week, however, Corporate HQ sent her an email with an excuse ... saying the company is *experimenting with fragrances*! Fragrances!?There wasn't any. Oh. My. Goodness. Clearly, they don't give a damn.

There was nothing at all I could say to get a king and I still paid over $200 for a dirty small bed. I paid the king price and got a queen. The receptionist was not helpful.

• brian (7/5): For a night stay just to rest it would be ok.. breakfast was ok! - The staff were extremely friendly from the hotel clerk to the cleaning staff and the matenience man...they all greeted us with a smile and friendly hellos every day we were there! The room had a awful smell so we had to leave our window open wide day and night the whole time we were there. We couldn't watch our TV as it had lines running through some channels and others were snowy so we were not happy about that! Rug was dirty in areas needed to be vacuumed!

Flat- screen TV The staff is delightful and professional. breakfast available. Pool. Free parking. Bicycle rental. Free wifi. Dog friendly. Air conditioning. Refrigerator. Microwave. Mountain view. This hotel is a fifteen minute drive (9.7 miles) to the well- regarded MaryHill Art Museum which is housed in a Beaux Arts Mansion and overlooks the Columbia River Gorge with beautiful views and lovely grounds, Stonehenge Memorial (7.3 miles), Goldendale Observatory State Park with telescopes available to the public. Reservations required. Goldendale Reindeer Farm, MaryHill Winery, Multnomah Falls, other wineries, the National Neon Sign Museum and many other things to do and see.... The price is a bit high for budget lodging.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel staff who checked us in seemed a bit unfriendly. She seemed annoyed or must have had long day. Then, as soon as we walked into our non-smoking room, we knew instantly it was an issue. The room was overly perfumed,something to cover the smell of a pet or something. Then to my disgust, I found some hair inside the mini fridge and some pop corn kernels on the carpet. The bed and linens were cleaned and comfortable so that was positive.
