- lisa (5/5): Will not stay there again - Close to where i needed to be room was spacious , beds were comfortable Looked clean , smelled clean until i dropped something under bed , there were food and water bugs, bug bait containers , bottle of pills i threw in trash . Did you make sure your maids clean under the beds and under things it look clean until you start looking under things it was pretty nasty. Lots of water bugs.

I really appreciate his help and generosity he truly has amazing customer service Rooms were not up to par. We had found dirty Qtips, floors were not vacuumed all the way, and the fan and curtains had a thick amount of dust on them.

- Jessica (1/5): - N/A This reservation was made for my 70 yo mother who was traveling alone for a dr. appointment. She arrived to the hotel late at night after a long day of traveling. She was given her hotel key and when she walked in the room, she noticed that the room had not been cleaned. She mentioned that the bed was unmade, there was trash in the waste bins and that there was an odor in the room. She was so disgusted with the room that she refused to stay there. She spoke with the attendant and mentioned that she would not be staying at this hotel for the night because of the dirty room. She returned the keys and left. She ended up leaving and having to look for another hotel to stay at. Even though she didn't stay in the room, it was still charged as if she had stayed there.

- Leah (1/5): Terrible - Only location I booked this property through a third party booking agency due to its close proximity to the outlet mall in San Marcos. I was offered two separate rooms at the location. Both had extensive water damage in the bathrooms. You could smell the mold and mildew upon entering the rooms. The bathrooms had visible water damage with mildew and black mold. I am immune compromised and both my son and I have severe asthma; staying in either of the two rooms offered was out of the question for our personal health and safety. I had to seek accommodations at another hotel in the San Marcos area for the evening. Now I am dealing with the booking company and a property manager who is unresponsive, and I trying desperately to get my night’s stay reimbursed. I would not stay at this property until extensive repairs are made.

The wallpaper was coming off, only one light worked, and there was mold in the bathroom. There was even a bag over the fire alarm. The staff is lovely, but the building needs serious maintenance

The pool heater was not working, and they didn't give any indication they were trying to fix it, so the water was too cold to use. The gym was out of service, the lobby bathroom paper towel dispenser batteries were dead the whole time, the lobby hand sanitizer was empty the whole time. - Inspire691520 (2/5): Just Dont Go There - I've been staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites in San Marcos for the past five Thursdays, and I have one more overnight stay next Thursday. Overall, it has been a pleasant experience for me except for the following minor issues, 1) For some reason, during my first stay, they put me in the Handicapped Room on the first floor. I'm not handicapped, but Ok. However, this room was right next to the parking lot, where 5-6 construction workers decided it would be a good place to have a tailgate get-together until about 10:00 p.m. I don't blame them for getting together outside before calling it a night, but it was outside my room. Traveling as a solo female, it creeped me out to even want to get undressed, and they were literally right outside my window. Could there be an alternative place for them to hang out, further away from the windows? Also included in the rental rate was a nice hot breakfast at 6:00 a.m. However, by the time I left for my shift at the hospital at 6:15 a.m., there was no warm breakfast. 2) The second night's stay was uneventful, except for having to walk past the 5-6 construction workers who were once again seated outside near the hotel's floor windows. I ensured I was provided a room not on the first floor. 3) The third night's stay was uneventful, except for having to walk past the 5-6 construction workers who were once again seated outside near the hotel's floor windows. I ensured I was provided a room not on the first floor. 4) My room was very nice but lacked four light bulbs, making it look like a dungeon. I had to call the front desk to ask for some light bulbs, and I was informed that they had run out of light bulbs, but she would check. She found three, so I put one in the bathroom (one of the two lights in that room), one in the sitting area (the only lamp), and one next to my bed. The lamp on the other side of the bed didn't even work. 5) These all seem like minor incidents; however, they become an issue when they accumulate. That being said, my last stay on day 5 was unacceptable. a) They put me in room 411. As soon as I walked in, I could tell there were going to be issues, and I was right. Three of the five lights/lamps were not working, nor was the ceiling fan. I called the front desk, and she was hard-pressed to find an available room with the King-sized bed I had paid for. b) Eventually, she did and put me in room #315. She asked me several times if I had stayed in that room before, to which I could not recall, but she asked me several times as if she wanted to see my take on that room (or if someone died in there, she assured me that was not the case). I was just ready to call it a night and had already spent 30 minutes trying to get a new room. Room 315 had all the lights/lamps working, except one of the bedside tables didn't even have a lamp on it. The ceiling fan was working, so I was happy. I then went into the bathroom to get ready for bed, and it was then that I discovered the toilet seat WASN'T ATTACHED! I could not believe my eyes. I had already overlooked the broken toilet paper dispenser, which was minor, but the only way to use the toilet was to "hover"! I wanted to let the front desk know this was an issue (I didn't want another room at this point, as I was tired and just wanted to go to bed). Upon picking up the bedside phone, I realized there was no dial tone, which was odd, so I pressed it again, and then I wanted to make sure it was plugged in. Guess what? Not only was it NOT plugged in, there was NO CORD to attach one to the wall. That said, I called it a night and reported these issues to the front desk in the morning. I am pretty sure he didn't make a report. To top things off, it was 6:00 am, and NO HOT breakfast was waiting for me again. The person in charge scrambled into the breakfast area at 6:05 and began preparing the eggs and a sausage. By 6:15, a hot breakfast was ready, and I wolfed down my food in 5 minutes and left the hotel at 6:20 am. I have videos of the non-functioning toilet seat, the broken toilet paper dispenser, and the phone without a cord. If you would like to see them, I would be happy to share them. Just so you know, for some reason, EVERY SINGLE bathroom sink is missing the drain stopper. Why?

- Melissa (10/5): - We stayed for TXST Family Weekend. We really appreciated the cleanliness and safety of the hotel. The front desk personnel were so friendly and accommodating. Beds were comfortable and clean. We definitely will stay again!

- Dea Anne (2/5): - AC wasn’t working, no lights in light fixtures, dirty microwave, no fridge, dirty bathroom, dirty coverlet on bed, mattress pad that was so torn up it was bunched up under the sheet. When problems reported to the front desk, the AC was patched and then stopped working again. Told the front desk of the problem at 5:30 pm and maintenance didn’t show up until 9:30 pm. He had a horrible attitude and was disrespectful. Never again trusting a Comfort Inn for an overnight stay.
- Kasey (4/5): 1 night was too much. - When we arrived they had no more king rooms which is what we’d booked ahead of time and paid for in full. We were given a double bed room and it was NOT clean. The bed skirt had old food stuck to it. There was hair in the tub, the chair in the room looked as though it had never been cleaned. There was stuff stuck to the walls. Overall the hotel is disgusting and outdated to say the least.
- sharonbU958DX (2/5): Make sure you see what you're getting before you pay. - Don't stay here. I booked with the hotel. That was my first mistake. If you book that way you have to deal with the hotel itself rather than Choice Hotels to get your money back. When my daughter and I entered the room there was no light. Lamps were the only source of light and not one was plugged in. After searching in the dark to plug in lamps we finally had enough light to see all the dirt to say nothing of the moldy smell. We complained about it and were shown another room where there was a roach crawling on the bathroom wall. We said we wanted a refund and was told by a girl at the front desk the manager okayed the refund . I asked for a receipt but was told she had no way to provide one. I asked for the clerk to put that it in writing and include her managers name which she did. I was given only the managers email address and was told that was the only way to contact her. I have sent two emails and have received no replies. I guess that's how they make their money. You pay up front for a dirty room and they don't refund your money when you won't stay there.

- Laura (4/5): - The room was hot and very stuffy, the AC did not work. The receptionist came to reset, but still didn’t work. The my husband work up with a bug in his bed. It was warm in the room. You could see that the carpet had not been vacuumed.
- mica (2/5): Extremely filthy and roach infested - I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Upon arrival, the room was filthy—the carpets were stained and there was a terrible odor coming from the air conditioning unit. I requested a room change immediately, but unfortunately, the second room was no better. On the second night, I encountered a large cockroach, which was the final straw. I checked out early and moved to another hotel, but the staff refused to refund me for the remaining three nights of my reservation. I would not recommend staying here.

- Barrie (4/5): Overall my stay was just ok. - Easy checkin/out. Honored my request for a ground floor room. Room temperature was good but I couldn't adjust the air stream up or down. It just blew straight out to the middle of the room. Would be nice if could direct the air flow up. The first night I killed a roach in the bathroom that was between the toilet and the shower. The next morning there was a dead roach on the floor under the coffee bar. There was black mold on the shower walls above where the sliding glass doors are attached and there was black mold in the two lower corners of the picture that was hanging above the toilet. I was pleased to see a ceiling fan in the room. It was off. Good thing I looked at it before I turned it on because the fan blades were THICK with dust... very dirty. I was afraid if I tuned it on I would have dust all over the bed. There were several nicks and gouges in the walls. It was annoying having to open the cabinet to get to the fridge each time. It would be more efficient if it was maybe located under the coffee bar.
- MIKE (4/5): - Internet did not reach the room. Had to go to the lobby for connection. Both queen beds squeaked with any movement. Upstairs guests' footsteps sounded like clomping. Desk employee said she would contact them. No improvement AM and PM. We had to kill 4 small roaches in bathroom. AC unit very loud. Furniture needed repairs. We assume bad management and construction.

The lady who checked us in was more worried about her phone than actually telling us anything about breakfast, room number or check out time definitely felt like we were an inconvenience to her. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all.

Asked staff to clean it they said no we have to ask for room service before 11am only, we got room service they only took out the trash, dead roach was still there. Later that night my wife stepped on another roach alive crawling thru the room. Absolutely disgusting.

Personal Shampoo and conditioner bottles were 1/2 full, used. Front desk help agreed to provide refund, and manager denied to Expedia. Called several times to clear up confusion, no response. No refund, lost my money, booked this because it was 7 stars. Awful experience!!!!!!
