Guest Reviews
- Traveler36300052423 (10/5): A lovely week - We stayed in India which in my opinion is one of the best rooms - we had an indoor terrace which was nearly as big as our room. The riad is luxuriously furnished, calm and peaceful and well located for the main sites.
A highlight was the breakfast which is beautifully presented and really sets you up for the day.
The staff were friendly and polite. Youssef, who prepared and served most of our breakfasts and our dinner on the first night is exceptionally professional and was more than happy to help us with anything we needed.
I would definitely recommend and would stay again, if we return to Marrakech.
- Warren (10/5): - A hidden gem, the staff were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly, making us feel very welcome. We stayed 3 nights and had an amazing meal on our last night, the breakfast was "out of this World ". A big thanks to Joelle and her team, we highly recommend Riad Les Orangers d'Alilia for a very relaxing, accommodating stay.
- markus (10/5): - It had been a very pleasant stay at all categories. In particular we would like to emphazise the warm welcome and the friedlyness of the personal. In addition we had always a rich and wonderful breakfast.
- markus (10/5): - The was lovely and service great. It is a wonderful place to visit the medina of Fès. We can warmly recommend the place.
- todspur (10/5): Perfect base to experience Marrakesh - Sublime, chilled, oozing style and at the same time very relaxed. Everything from the attention of the staff to the comfort of the rooms and the ambience of the salon was perfect. The breakfasts are huge and you can arrange to have a meal cooked for you on the premised
- 341simong (10/5): Amazing stay at this beautiful riad - This was our first trip to Morocco and I think we chose the perfect place to stay. A traditional style Riad, but one that had been lovingly restored to a high standard. Beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout with delightful central courtyard with orange trees and water feature.
We stayed in one of the balcony bedrooms overlooking the courtyard on the first floor. Although the room wasn't huge, we had a lovely big private outer balcony with seating to relax in.
Most importantly it was the delightful staff that made our stay so wonderful. Yousef was the main host to us and was one of the nicest people you could possibly meet. He was very welcoming, friendly and super helpful, always with a smile and always polite and happy. We arrived very late our first night, yet he organised a delicious meal for us at the riad .
I'd recommend eating at the riad at least a few times during a stay. The meals are as good as many restaurants. Thank you to the chef/cook!
The rest of the staff were also lovely, so helpful and just keen to make your stay there perfect. Thank you.
- Valeria (8/5): - Great service. Yoseff was a wonderful host and always attended to our needs. The rooms are cozy with a warm welcoming style. Breakfast was delicious and the common area was a soothing retreat from the bustling streets. One of our rooms had a musty smell, it may not have been used in a while. The other room was wonderful.
- 366darrenb (10/5): Book now to avoid disappointment - This venue is a must be. 100% recommendation. From the slightly bland outside and journey to front door belies the beautiful and exquisite riad inside. It is absolutely amazing and tastefully decorated inside. Service is exceptional and a big shout out goes to Yousef. He is an asset to the owner and nothing is too small for him to sort out and do. Breakfast is amazing with a large assortment. We had evening meal there and tasted great. Rooms are lovely and a pleasure to stay in. Location is great for excursions and walk arounds.
If you want an amazing place to stay and a true Moroccan experience. Book now to avoid disappointment

- Sarah (10/5): - The staff was so helpful and the Riad very lovely. So many nice personal touches. Room design could have been a little roomier around the bed/bathroom, but quiet and comfortable. It was a 20 minute walk or so to restaurants, but nice to be away from the hustle and bustle deeper in the medina.
- P3381CRdianneb (10/5): Beautiful Riad! - Beautiful riad in a fabulous location in the Medina! Rooms were gorgeous and beds comfy. Dinner on the roof was delicious and the perfect setting for our first night in Morocco with our family! We were greated with tea and treated with such genuine kindness from the entire staff! Breakfast were a true delight and the mornings on the rooftop were peaceful and breathtaking.
- mssocialite (10/5): The best experience for my first time in Marrakech! I highly recommend! - This place was beautiful and clean. Not only that, but the entire staff is what truly made my stay even more spectacular! During my stay I interacted with Joelle(Mgr), Simo, another Simo, Youssef and the chef. (I don't remember her name, but she did the cooking class for us as well and was one of the most kind people I've probably ever met and her food was so good.) Everyone was so kind, attentive, and provided the utmost hospitality. Upon arrival, we were greeted with "welcome drinks" that consisted of traditional tea and pastries. The first morning during breakfast, Joelle and Simo surprised me with a cake and candle for my birthday! Anything I needed assistance with or had questions about, i.e., suggestions, reservations, etc., they handled for me. The location was perfect and quiet at night. Another plus for me is that, unlike some, I'm not fond of pets and this was one of the few riads I found that didn't have pets inside nor hanging around outide. I will definitely be referring this riad to anyone coming to Marrakech. I will cherish this experience forever!
A special thank you to Simo (with the glasses) and was there daily. He handmade my sister and I sweet bracelets to take with us. He also came and walked us to the riad and helped with our bags when we first arrived in the medina. He even walked us to our hammam appointment around the corner, and when I had an issue with an ATM nearby, he left the riad to come meet me. His service and willingness to help was truly unmatched and appreciated.
- Nathalie (10/5): - Service et accueuil chaleureux
Meilleurs repas de tout notre séjour. La personne en cuisine maîtrise son art, nous avons été ravi s.
- perthsaint (10/5): Stunning Riad - We stayed 3 nights at this stunning Riad. Rooms are beautifully presented and very comfortable. The breakfast served on the roof terrace is exceptional and sets you up for the day. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Riad is situated in a quiet area about 15 mins walk from the square. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): January visit - Really lovely riad with fabulous staff and food and in a safe and convenient location. The staff will organise things for your convenience e.g. taxis but be warned its much more expensive. We did a day trip to the atlas mountains where we hiked up a mountain to panoramic views, would definitely recommend if wanting to escape the city.
- Jérôme (10/5): - Un très agréable lieu, personnel aux petits soins, disponible et souriant. Décoration de très bon gout, un repas excellent.
- Natacha (10/5): - Beautiful Riad with the most Amazing host and staff. When Boho meets Oriental decor this is how it looks. Spectacular decoration and every detail makes sense. Room was spacious and clean. Location was perfect close to everything yet very quiet. Breakfast on the rooftop terraces was delicious. Staying in this riad is staying in your new home. Yourself, Ghizlaine, Hassania, Hichame and Joelle will become your family members. They are all amazing humans with a big smile to greet you throughout the day. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING US FEEL LIKE HOME. I am highly recommending this place if you are looking for the real Moroccan lifestyle and people.
- Damini Jagdishbhai (10/5): - Road was very awesome and tidy, that staff was very helpful and polite, I really enjoyed my stay and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family
- Szu Ping (10/5): - The hospitality is amazing. Located a little bit away from the main action (I was at a work conference) so will need to get a cab into the centre if you don’t fancy a 30 minute walk. But peaceful and tranquil surroundings and the breakfast is DELICIOUS.
- Beverley (10/5): - This is a beautiful Riad, located in the old city, down a tiny walkway, but once you enter it's like stepping in to a tranquil oasis. The decor is very beautiful and makes you feel like home. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Yousef the night manager is outstanding and very professional but also warm and friendly. During the earthquake he looked after all the guests like family and made us all feel very safe. The food which is all freshly prepared is amazing. Breakfast was a feast every morning and dinner was a Moroccan delight. I highly recommend this Riad and will definitely be returning. Well done to Madam Joelle for creating such a wonderful environment in the midst of a very busy city.
- Nadia (10/5): Joli Riad. - Superbe Riad au coeur de la Kasbah, mention spéciale à Youssef pour son accueil chaleureux et sa gentillesse, petit déjeuner top. Nous avons passé un meirveilleux séjour.
Laititia & Nadia.
- Raquel (2/5): - The owner was very rude to us, even though the mistake with the reservation was only hers. My brother and I reserved a room with two beds and was confirmed. Once we arrived, she said that it will be complicated to give us two beds and she refused to credit us, even though “Booking “ contacted her and requested a refund. Her attitude is unpleasant and unprofessional to say the least.
- Niamh (10/5): - Our stay at the Riad was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, our every need was catered to, particularly by Youseff. He is the most dedicated and caring person we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The free breakfast was both enormous and delicious! The riad is located within the Medina, making every sight accessible by foot. Our room was perfect with daily cleaning and even had personal touches for our visit. We highly recommend anyone to visit this Riad and when we return to Marrakech in the future we will be returning!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ambiance was nice. Great Breakfast. Shower in bathroom was very dark. Communication with staff was difficult and inconsistent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful rooms, although a bit tight in the bathroom. Great rooftop deck. Wonderful breakfasts and dinners. Enthusiastic staff.
- Kevin (10/5): Best hospitality - If you stay here, you will never want to leave. Best hospitality we have ever experienced anywhere. Please have breakfast and dinner here if you can. Youssef was so sweet, he really took care of us well. We have another 7 weeks of travel ahead, and this riad has spoiled our expectation of every other place we will be staying. We will be back here without hesitation- as long as Youssef is still working.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - From the moment we arrived to a mint tea and local sweet treats welcome, the staff could not do enough for us. So friendly and helpful we felt like VIP's! The Riad was an oasis of calm, incredibly quiet, day and night though only just off the bustle of the street. Very convenient for exploring the city and the area felt safe to walk around.
The Riad itself is beautiful, light and airey with lots of shady sitting areas and a lovely roof terrace if you want the sun.
Room was small but perfect with a delightful private sitting area as well as a bedroom and bathroom.
We will definitely stay here again in the future.
- lois (10/5): HIghly recommend! - This riad is in the medina so that was fun! As busy as the medina is, the riad is really beautiful inside and relaxing and has a wonderful rooftop terrace. The host was very welcoming and the breakfast was amazing. I would have stayed longer if I had known how nice it would be.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A lovely, beautifully realized oasis in Marrakech. Quiet, refined, and comfortable, it's small size adds to the sense of well being in a rather tumultuous city.
- Alice (10/5): Idyllic & tranquil Riad amongst Marrakech’s bustle - My partner and I had a lovely 4 night stay at Riad Les Orangers d’Alilia - a tranquil space offering respite from the hustle and bustle of Marrkech.
We stayed in the Sofia room, which was perfect, comfortable, very tastefully decorated with a French/ Moroccan feel.
We were spoilt at breakfast daily, with a beautiful & different spread each morning - orange juice fresh from their own orange trees, mint tea, fruit, homemade cakes, breads and treats.
Located within the Medina, but a short walk from the main square, we found it to be the perfect balance, a little quieter but still in the heart of the city. I particularly enjoyed the walk into the centre which led you through Kasbah and a revealed a less touristic Marrkech, with traditional food stalls, the smoke of bouriats come the evening and the odd donkey drawn cart.
Staff were very attentive throughout, making for an fantastic stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Vibes/Sheek Hotel - It was a pleasant stay. As soon as we arrived to the hotel, we were welcomed with Moroccan tea. The atmosphere and ambiance was super nice. We enjoyed our stay and breakfast was good too. Thanks for having us stay at your place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location in the Médina. Personalised experience loved it
- Clint (10/5): Great stay for a couple - Small, boutique Riad with lovely staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful, calm, well run Riad on the edge of the Medina. Lovely staff who try to offer high star service. Perfect balance between proper, yrafitional hotel near the heart of things and a peaceful oadis to return to after the chaos of the city.
- James (10/5): Beautiful Riad with Wonderful Owner and Staff - My girlfriend and I stayed at Riad Les Orangers d'Alilia for a long weekend. The experience was fantastic from start to end. The owner, Joelle, was very welcoming and helpful throughout, as were all other members of staff. Everyone made our stay feel very special.
The Riad itself is beautifully decorated, with a great roof terrace on which we were served a delicious assortment of fruits, beads and cereals for breakfast - a real highlight!
All-in-all we would definitely recommend.
- Harrison (10/5): Beautiful Riad - great location - We stayed here for two nights and it was exceptional. Incredibly beautiful and our room was stunning - they looked after us so well and made us feel right at home, would thoroughly recommend. Oh, and the food was fantastic - make room for breakfast as it’s enormous!
- Camila (10/5): AMAZING! - The hotel is absolutely wonderful! Recommend 100%
- Verified traveler (10/5): Flawless stay, again - Comfortable, quiet, soothing. And CLEAN. Exceptional food and service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A lovely Riad in the Kasbah area. In 44 degree heat, it did feel quite far from the souks, but it was nice to be out of the mad scrabble of the Main Square.
Rooms really comfortable, and have air conditioning. The little pool (only big enough for a dip!) in the courtyard was a life saver in the heat, and the rooftop loungers and hot tub were a real treat.
The breakfast is really adequate- although quite bread / pastry heavy. Fatima was kind enough to prepare us a packed lunch breakfast too, for when we wanted to go the Jardin Majorelle in the early morning.
- Ananda (10/5): Beautiful oasis in Marrakech! - The riad itself amazing! The decor is so lovely and the pool was heaven! Breakfast was tasty and there was banana bread!! My only minor complaint was in no way the riad's fault. There was a heatwave during our stay (115 degrees high!) and our a/c was just not up to the job.
- casey (6/5): Nice hotel close to the old town - I was very disappointed that the owner does not speak English since she was not there and her father in law was helping instead who does not speak English. And the guest was not allowed to bring in any food or drink from outside. Has to buy from the hotel.
- Georgina (10/5): Comfortable and friendly riad in the medina - Stayed for one night and was very well looked after by Jacques who was managing the riad in the absence of the owner Joelle. We ate dinner at the riad and had a lovely fish based tangine which was so tasty that we used all the bread to soak up the sauce. The riad itself is small but has a lot of chic personality from all the classic white furnishings. Loved the roof top terrace especially for sunset. only a 15 mins walk to the main square but far enough out of the hustle and bustle to give you a good night sleep.
- Sonia & Paul (8/5): Marrakech in 4 days - This was our first time in Marrakech and we chose a Riad instead of a larger hotel. Le Riad Les Orangers d'Alilia seemed to fit the bill - the photos on the web site are exactly as we found it. Initially, it was quite disconcerting to be walking down a narrow street with more than enough suitcases but our wonderful cab driver Abdou led the way. Our host Joelle greeted us warmly and a few steps later we were in an enchanting patio with orange trees. Outside our pretty Riad Marrakech was exciting, noisy, dangerous (traffic in narrow streets), colourful and mesmerizing.
- KM (10/5): A wonderful riad - This was an excellentlchoice for my stay in Marrakech
Jouelle and her caring staff could not be surpassed.Good location for visiting the sights of the Medina
- B (10/5): Wonderful hotel experience - The hotel is a little oasis of calm from the bustling streets of Marrakech. Nothing was too much effort for the friendly warm staff. The breakfasts on the rooftop terrace were one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco. The hotel is well located: a short walk to the main square but far enough away that it felt like an escape from the busy souks. The owner, Joelle, takes pride in stylish finishing touches and the riad is a credit to the effort she puts in to making it a beautiful restful place to stay.
- BETHANY (10/5): Really convenient and nice, slightly loud - The service was amazing, and the property was gorgeous. It was quite loud, though, as there didn't seem to be any noise blocking between rooms, the hallway, or even the front door. We could hear every knock on the door as people asked to get let in. The location was perfect, though. Most tourist attractions were walkable. And the breakfast was delightful!
- Carl (10/5): Good price, beautiful Riad, exceptional service! - Beautiful Riad close to the main sites but far enough away for peace and quiet if you want it. The service and food here were exceptional and the Riad was reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.
- Tom (10/5): Tranquil riad - We had an excellent stay with Joelle and team. The riad is beautiful and provides a relaxing sanctuary amongst the activity within the Medina. The team do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable and Joelle provides excellent advice on getting the most out of the city. We would definitely stay again.
- L&R (8/5): A little Oasis in a big City - Had a very lovely stay at this delightful little riad. Great location. Quiet and easy to get to and from to Medina and outside Medina. Close to lovely cafes. Very generous breakfast. Lovely helpful owner and staff.
- Catherine (10/5): - This was the most wonderful and homely experience we could expect from Marrakech. Joelle and staff were so hospitable to our every need, the room and hotel itself was stunningly peaceful (esp in comparison to how chaotic the city is ten mins away). This was such a good find, the breakfast varies every day and is plentiful - you wake up to the serene scene of the comfortable rooftop and delivered tray after tray of fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, yogurt and various dishes. This is pure serenity, and we were sat down upon arrival and treated to hot tea, biscuits and various advice on the cities.
I'd recommend organising a pick-up/dropoff with Joelle, and definitely having at least a night getting a tagine cooked for you at the riad. The lamb tagine was DIVINE and could not be beat! We'll definitely be going back!
- Sarah (8/5): Beautiful Riad far from Medina - If you're looking for a beautiful, well-run riad in Marrakech that's outside the madness of the Medina, this is for you. Charming, pretty and an oasis from the crowds, though it is a 30-40minute walk from the square through very busy streets (think mopeds everywhere!!)
The best thing about our stay here was the breakfast - Fatiha puts on a spread that would put a 5* hotel to shame.
Overall - beautiful, peaceful, friendly but it's a trek through traffic to get anywhere.
- leanne (8/5): Beautiful Riad - Lovely riad. Friendly owner and staff, very helpful. Beautiful breakfast with different variety each day. Excellent location for old town feel but not loud, easy to reach most places by foot
- Penny (10/5): Beautiful, tranquil riad in the heart of the Medin - We had a really relaxing few days at this lovely riad. Fabulous breakfasts and really helpful and charming staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
Excellent Riad - Les Orangers came up to what i had hoped for. It has well deserved good reviews and was a haven. The staff and joelle were charming and helpful the riad very nicely decorated and exceptional value. I would recomend having dinner
there.
- ian (10/5): Absolutely delightful riad in a good location - We only stayed one night but we will definitely go back ! Truly beautiful riad, stylish and very comfortable. Everything about it was first class, the decor, furnishings, the lovely sense of peace, the cleanliness, the warm welcome. The room we stayed in was spacious and luxurious, excellent bed with top quality bed linen, stylish modern bathroom. This really is an honest review, It is cetainly the nicest place we have ever stayed !
