Guest Reviews
- Huntor (10/5): - Great place to stay within walking distance to Old Faithful
- Xinyi (10/5): - Our cabin is small, but very neat and comfortable.
- Alfred (10/5): - Lovely, convenient location. Great dining experience. Should have stayed longer.
- Steve (8/5): - Comfy beds. Bathrooms need updating and cleanliness was mid. Overall great place.
- Debbie (8/5): - The room was a little small for the furniture put in the room (the over stuffed chair and desk took up some walking room). No microwave. A kettle instead of a coffee pot with coffee pods that had to be used like teabags. Because there was not a microwave I could not heat up my coffee when the cup cooled off.
That said, we liked the hotel, staff was helpful, and the decor is perfect for the area.
- Karla (10/5): - Great place to stay when visiting Yellowstone. Quick walk to National Park visitors center and Old Faithful.
- James (10/5): - Clean room
- Terri (10/5): - Location in Yellowstone is fabulous. Staff was extremely friendly there is plenty of parking. No TVs or air conditioning, but wifi seems to work well. Dinner reservations are recommended, but they have a casual grill with limited hours for something quick. Food at the restaurant was fine.
- Fenshya (10/5): - Loved everything!
- Dianne (10/5): - Room and decor were very nice, beds comfortable, we had in-room WiFi (which was very appreciated after a couple days off grid!). No AC - same as all accommodations inside the park - and it was a hot rainy night. Thank goodness for the electric fan, as the window was not letting in any air flow to speak of.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Loved the entire atmosphere of the lodge, it's very spacious and the rooms are impeccable. All staff members we interacted with were super friendly as well. Had a great dining experience for dinner, while it took awhile for the food to come out, it was well worth the wait, and honestly we were so busy chatting and enjoying cocktails from the bar it wasn't noticeable until our water apologized for the delay and brought it to our attention. 10 out of 10 would recommend, can't wait to stay there again
- Monica (10/5): - Had a great time, but the room was wayyy too hot.
- sandra (6/5): - The room was less clean than I would have liked - however the bed was comfy. It was quiet and convenient for our stay in the park.
- Richard (8/5): - antiquated property, no a/c, no tv..
but very friendly staff..
- julio (4/5): - Staff were great. Location good. No air conditioning. Shower didn’t work well. Food bad. Price too high for quality.
- Donna (10/5): Family Vacation - We loved the convenience and location. It was the ideal choice.
- Yanhua (2/5): - Never seen a place as dirty as here!
- Deep (10/5): - Great overall location!
- Veary (6/5): - Stayed in the park for convenience. It is convenient! But no air conditioning was rough even with the fan. The fan barely reached the window. There should be those safety locks on the door so people can prop the doors to let air circulate. We also lost power at the restaurant and hotel for about an hour. Luckily the door still worked but no air conditioning or fan at bedtime. Besides that, the room had a nice set up. We were by the lot so it was a bit loud with the window open. I also lost my jacket at the restaurant and no one returned it to lost and found.
- RICK (10/5): - Great place. Would go back.
- Anitha (10/5): - We had such a great experience here. The staff at the front desk Paul and Valicia were the best ! They went out of their way to help us out when we had an issue. The cabins were great, clean and comfortable. Very convenient location. Old faithful geyser is in walking distance. We had dinner at the Obsidian and the braised bison short ribs and the steak were cooked perfectly. Our waiters were also very friendly. All in all, we had such a great experience there that we already want to go back.
- KRUSHNA NANDA (10/5): - Great place to stay. Close to old faithful geyser.
- Jen (10/5): - Quaint little cabin close to old Faithful. Quiet and peaceful. Beds were so comfortable. Slept really well.
- Brian (6/5): - Bare bones. That building in the thumbnail is not the hotel, there’s small cabins that you stay in behind the pictured building. No AC which is fine because it gets cold at night, but that means you hear all the inconsiderate people making noise outside. WiFi barely worked.
- Erin (2/5): - The hotel has AC, the rooms don’t. Tiny windows, no ventilation, no ability to plug fan near the window, no extension cords, few outlets in room. No bathroom fan, only heat. Horrible for summer stay! Very expensive for what it is. Monopoly on location and poor quality guest experience. Food ok, not great. Few options and pricey for what you get.
- Debra (10/5): - The cabin was clean and quiet. The location was great; everything within walking distance. The staff were helpful. Will stay again!
- Yanchen (10/5): - Good place to stay.
- Corydon loomisbaselski (4/5): - Didn't request cabin offsite
- Michael (10/5): - Great location for a Home Base.
- Lori (10/5): - Room, restaurant great. They tried to charge us $385 more at check in. (We booked through Expedia). Both couples challenged charge, were refunded
- Peter (8/5): - Internet service was basically unavailable.
That should be known up front.
- Tonya (8/5): - staff was wasn’t the friendliest but i think they were all new
- Laura (8/5): Good place if you want to stay inside Yellowstone - Very nice lodge, lacking good coffee and only one restaurant with a long wait list. Nice staff, no reliable Wi-Fi
- Cindy (10/5): - Very nice rooms (beds are firm) Great location to start ones adventures.
- Nicholas (6/5): - Basic hotel.
- Roberta (8/5): - The internet connection was spotty at best. I couldn't keep connected to the WIFI
- Luanne (10/5): - Good location for visiting the park
- Kyle (10/5): - Unique
- James (10/5): - Convenient location for viewing geysers and surrounding area. Food was average and essentially the same from one park hotel to another.
- kim (8/5): - I liked it was convenient to many excursions to travel to. The food is very expensive. Also the walls are paper thin as we tried to watch a movie on our Ipad and got turned in for it was too loud.
- Yu-Chi (4/5): - In general, the people in service are not nice , particularly to tourists with colors. The worse attitudes we faced was at the dinning room..
So we dined at the old faithful inn instead, there we were treated with respect and very friendly staffs
- Paul (10/5): - Early check in was possible
- Leslie (8/5): - We had a very nice, clean, comfortable room. The lodge is beautiful and has an on site sit down restaurant as well as a separate cafe (the grill) where you can pick up sandwiches, hamburgers hot dogs etc. they also have a snack room that has everything from cold sandwiches, chips, cookies, muffins etc to toiletries that is open 24 7. You can walk to Old Faithful (about a 5-7 minute walk). There are other geysers around this property that may be fun to watch though they do not erupt as often. The next expected eruption times for the geysers are posted in the lobby of the hotel. There are no televisions or air conditioners in the rooms. WIFI was a little spotty and would come in and out. This could be due to my phone service,T-mobile, which was non-existent in the park. This compound also has a clinic, gas station, and general store that sells everything from food items to souvenirs, and a visitor center. The lodge is in a great location for heading either way on the grand loop around the park. Pay extra attention to opening and closings of the entrances to Yellowstone we were coming from Jackson through the Grand Tetons and planned to use the south entrance to the park but missed its opening (the second Friday in May) by one day.
Old Faithful Inn is on the property as well and has a grand wooden lobby as well as a sit down restaurant. It is about a 3-5 minute walk from Old Faithful Snow Lodge
- Sahil (6/5): - Property was not clean. It is old and the faucet was leaking. There is limited wifi and I was not able to make cellular calls. Only pro is that property is located close to old faithful and is inside the park.
- Jill (4/5): - The hotel rooms are so loud. There is no noise insulation- you hear everything from the rooms above and the hallways. Every door slams shut instead of close quietly.
- Tashagaye (8/5): - The property was a 5 min convenient walk to old faithful
- Tim (6/5): - There is no reasonably priced food the the area at this time of year.
- Michael (10/5): - Great location, 3 minute walk to see old Faithful. However, it was early in the season and parking was limited due to snow. Also, dining options were limited again due to it being early in the season
- Matthew (2/5): Horrible Stay at Old Faithful Snow Lodge. - The room was way too hot; a/c didn’t work and the hotel front desk told us the other side of the hotel building didnt have heat. We got less than 2 hours of sleep. Got up to get dressed for the day and there is no hot water. I called the front desk and they said they’ve received multiple complaints about no hot water…but that they would only tell their maintenance team.
- Erin (10/5): - The potholes in the dirt road going to the cabin were horrible and almost popped my tire.
- Bruce (10/5): - Good
- Henry (8/5): - Unit was pleasant. Parking was granular and got all over the floor (even after scraping shoes on mat). Had a broom, could have used a dustpan. Toilet area tiny. Roads around the buildings...more potholes than road. I am sure it is just the season. We did enjoy our stay. The staff was great.
- Sze Lok (6/5): - You can clearly hear your neighbours flushing the toilet and the water flow sound, luckily most of the guests sleep early but wake up also early
- Denise (8/5): - I loved the ambience of the hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I wasn’t impressed with the food. Wished there were more options.
- Julio (10/5): - Truly remarkable location. Clean rooms and quiet. THE INTERNET WAS SO BAD! The staff was very good and attentive.
- Sergio (10/5): - Potholes inner streets
- Sharmista (6/5): - Limited options to stay in the park this time of the year (April). Old faithful snow lodge is conveniently located but needs some major updating- the staff at reception (Dominque I think) was rather rude. Rooms were never cleaned. But great location, the seasonal staff in the restaurant and front desk were nice. So a necessity to stay there but lots to be desired
- Hajera (8/5): - Very cute lodge close to old faithful
Staff are very courteous and eager to help
No microwave in the rooms however
- Ann (8/5): - Beautiful place to be. The food options ( esp not able to cook a burger well) and the stiff sheets could stand to be replaced with better besides that no other complaints.
- Irmenda (10/5): - Great location
- Tomoko (8/5): - I’d like to visit after remodeling.
- Schlomo (10/5): Recommended stay in the park to save time - We were very happy to book a place to stay in the park, instead of outside the park because we were short of time and the weather was challenging. So staying in the park made it easier. The cabin room is a bit tight for 4, mainly sitting around the small table (and considering the price) but was OK for us. We used the coffee machine for tea. Staff in the park did not really know what is still open in October, so went to the post office to find it's closed after told otherwise. The shops are quite expensive, so better come prepared.
- Kris (8/5): - Beautiful location makes it so easy to visit old faithful and walk all the boardwalks in the area to the other geyser’s. Lodge was beautiful and the rooms cozy and charming. We had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant. We would definitely come back!
- Scott (8/5): - Can't beat the location.
- Kelly (10/5): - INCREDIBLE totally worth it
- Jason (6/5): - Restaurant had very limited menu. No tv at all.
- Paul Tuong (8/5): - Overall is very good
But Wifi and internet will be troublesome
- Thomas (8/5): - Close to the Yellow Stone park
- Xiaoer (10/5): - Great! Warm and clean
- Jenny (8/5): - Distance from car park to lobby was a bit of a hike with suitcases
- Christin (4/5): - The staff was obviously burnt out, short tempered, and rude.
- Ron (10/5): - Classic nice place.
- Siddharth (10/5): - Food
- Faith (6/5): Stay out of convenience, don't expect much - There was no warning of the construction occurring on site and beginning as early as 8am right beside of our room as well as within the entire property at large. Also, nobody came to clean our room/change towels during the day even though we were gone the entire day.
- Kary (4/5): - We were not informed that this property was under construction. Scaffolding surrounded it and we had workers outside our third floor window starting work at 7:30 am. Staff didn’t know the area, and the internet has not secure. We should have been informed or given a discounted rate.
- Bill (8/5): Great location & mediocre housekeeping. - Room & lobby were not warm. Heating problems in both. Soap & shampoo dispensers in bathroom were either empty or not functional. Front desk & restaurant experience were both good.
- Marie (6/5): - Was not expecting construction site.
Cabin was dirty. Old dried up contact lens on nightstand. Dust along all baseboards. No room service for clean towels. Menu at snow cabins not great.
- yuet (8/5): - Need floor upgrades! Loud walking noises above level.
- Andrew (4/5): - The cabin I stayed in was old used and abused. With the amount that they charge to stay, they should have these cabins replaced as they’re old and dingy. The only good thing about this property is that you’re very close walking distance to Old Faithful.
- Debbie (4/5): - This is for Expedia’s use—not for posting. We were booked for two nights. Our first cabin was well-worn. It appeared clean but there were huge cobwebs between the wall and the drapes. The second night’s cabin was fine. I guess because Yellowstone is so heavily used the staff doesn’t have time to keep up. Everything just seemed “tired” and worn.
- Jean (8/5): - Old Faithful Snow Lodge is getting a new roof, so it’s under construction. But the staff makes it work as well as possible. Stay here rather than the more expensive Old Faithful Inn — historic but a bit decrepit. Likewise the Inn’s restaurant — all buffet this time of year because of staffing, but really slow seating and no views. Not the National Park cool dining experience I’d hoped for.
- Corynne (4/5): - The lobby was enjoyable after the construction stopped for the day. The room was very small and HOT ! The windows were nailed shut due to the construction so they could not be opened to let the cool outside air in. The website indicated that there was some construction but it did not impact the rooms. WRONG! Every aspect of the hotel is impacted by the construction. Would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone else.
- Deb (10/5): - Under construction so a bit tough to park
- Lloyd (2/5): - We maybe should have paid a Super 8 rate or less for this lodge. Terrible!!!
- Natalie (4/5): - There was Extensive remodeling going in and outside of the hotel which we were not made aware of we would have never stayed there because no air conditioning could not open windows because of the construction. It really was not
Ow
- Mark (8/5): - There is construction going on currently but it did not affect our stay. The lodge is nice, clean and comfortable beds.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Horrible. No AC and very outdated and dirty. They should let people know before booking theres no AC. Plus the place had construction everywhere. Wouldnt recommend and go back.
- Bernhard (2/5): Extremely unsatisfactory - No ac, useable wifi, television. No bedside reading light, too dark to read. Guests above very noisy, hotel unable to deal with this. This was a very uncomfortable and unpleasant stay and I couldn’t wait to leave.
- Jessica (2/5): - Was hot, not clean, see through toilet paper. Awful restaurant, rude and snooty.
- Saad (2/5): - Terrible experience at the property. Front desk staff is rude and do not understand what it is to provide a service.
The cabin was dirty and had insects inside. There is no air conditioning and the cabin was very very hot. Checked out after 30 minutes as the place was unhabitable. Had to drive 50 minutes to find another hotel so my children could sleep. Avoid at all costs.
- SYDNEY (6/5): - Property under construction—understandable but nonetheless not professional. Elevators didn’t work either.
- Dennis (6/5): - Cabin was very old but comfortable. Needs some updates
- Fredrick (10/5): - Staff was great and the cabin was nice and clean.
- Brenda (10/5): - Very nice room, only issue was 2 queen beds, no kings. Lovely setting. Much better value than the Old Faithful Inn. Not historic, but you can walk to the Inn and experience the history that way. Super close to Old Faithful Geyser, and the great Visitor Center. Not a large selection of eating places, but the Obsidian Dining room was great for breakfast and dinner!
- Annia (4/5): - Floor wasn’t dust I had to sweep the floor for my kids to walk on it, not much Toilet paper, also I thought breakfast was included and it wasn’t, I had requested extra towels and blankets for our arrival and none of that was delivered until 9pm when were ready for bed. I wouldn’t no be staying here again.
- Douglas (4/5): - The Old Faithful Snow Lodge is beautiful and its' walking distance to Old Faithful and the numerous surrounding geysers make it a prime destination location.
However, that all falls away due to the poorly trained staff and workers at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge. We had interrupted our exploration of Yellowstone to be at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge at 4PM for check-in. Upon arrival, we were told our room was not ready (no cause for alarm, that happens) and after talking with the cleaning crew, the front desk staff informed us our room would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes.
Not enough time to go do anything more than visit the gift shop - we came back about 30 minutes later and now waited behind multiple other people checking-in, only to be told our room was STILL not ready. We were told that our room would absolutely be ready in another 30 minutes. We had wanted to take a shower and change out of our stinky clothes before dinner (had been out hiking the majority of the day) and the on-site restaurants do not take reservations and with the amount of people already waiting to be seated, we were looking at not being able to eat dinner on-site and taking the hour and a half (one way) trip to West Yellowstone for dinner - so we attended dinner at the Obsidian restaurant as is. Skip forward - our room was still not available FOLLOWING dinner. Our room was not available until AFTER 7PM (more than 3 HOURS after the check-in time)
Dinner was even more awful. Untrained waitstaff...
- Jonathan (6/5): - Great lodge like setting very convenient to Old Faithful and some nice trails.
- Venkatswamy (6/5): - Too far from lobby .
- Marietta (10/5): - This hotel is right near Old Faithful. A very nice facility, clean and comfortable. The staff was great- friendly and helpful.
- Jonathan (4/5): - The bathroom was not clean, hair all over the tub, drain plug damaged preventing my wife from taking a bath, and the children running around down the hall and in the room above us until 11:30 pm prevented us from getting any sleep.
