Guest Reviews
- PoDavey (2/5): Only Stay Here if Every Other Hotel Is Full - Stayed here for quick trip to help my son pack out of school. Was traveling by myself and I'm pretty low need for hotel amenities. I won't stay here again. Room smelled nasty (mold & mildew). While the location is great, this place is not good.
- nancybQ2169DU (8/5): Don’t judge a book by it’s cover :) - This place is fine . Clean , hot water, Wi-fi comfortable beds, REALLY good fan/AC/heater. Quiet - did not hear neighbor’s doors shutting or other noises. Location is awesome. 11 min walk from Memorial Union. Didn’t need to rent a car for the football weekend. Like ALL lodging big price increase for football weekends- not news there. Yes outside could use a little work - but rooms themselves are somewhat updated and very safe. Would stay here again for sure !
- J8994ETroberts (2/5): Do not stay here! - Literally the worst place I've ever stayed!!!!!!! The rooms smelled! I had to go to the office to get air freshener. The smell of mold will make you sick. The outside traffic noise was a problem. Just unsafe!!!!!!!
- P9001XBtracyb (8/5): Not terrible - A busy parent's weekend stay near campus and the Campus Inn met our expectations. If you are expecting a 4 or 5 star for this price, near campus, find another place. We enjoyed the location, the parking, ice machine, the mini fridge, and A/C were in good working order. Our only complaint were the pillows. The pillows are VERY thin. We flew in, so could not bring our own. If you are driving, bring your own. We asked for 2 extra pillows at the front desk since there were 2 people in our room. They could only accommodate one extra pillow. The Starbucks is a close walk, along with a few other restaurants.
- Judy (8/5): Good value for overnight stay - An older motel but kept clean. Staff was pleasant.
- amirbW5055MB (10/5): It is very good location, Best place for Purdue students = - It is a super convenient location. Walkable to distance to Purdue. Close to many restaurants and Target for small shopping.
The room was clean, as much as I can say, has a fridge and microwave which was helpful for me. Parking is available, which is a big plus in west Lafayette. The price is great and probably one of the lowest you can get here.
I honestly cannot say internet was great, but it may be only me, and it is not the biggest issue if your phone coverage is good.
Conclusion: If you are a student, or the family of a student in Purdue, it is a great location for you. For travelers who pass Indiana, it is a well-priced place. Overall, it is a good place and the biggest advantage is the location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was mold in the bathroom, overall dirty room. No discount was offered.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and clean - Good for the price. Clean. We felt safe. But we could have used more pillows and a more comfortable mattress. We only stayed one night. Great location for visiting Purdue and close to restaurants!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - ,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, overall clean but buildings, rooms, and furnishings are starting to show age. Also can get a tad loud at night since right next to busy street but in general great location and will stay again.
- Dexter (10/5): Best Place To Stay In A Pandemic and Anytime. - The rooms were in wonderful condition. The protocol for COVID protection was better than a high cost hotel stay. We love our stay at Campus Inn. The price is great, the stay is great and the staff is awesome. We will keep coming back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very close to Purdue’s campus and was able to walk to many restaurants and bars.
- Rudolph (10/5): Smart Decision/Choice for good rest. - Quiet & clean facility close to a University Campus.
- Raymond (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable
The staff was helpful
- Dawn (10/5): - Went extra mile to help
- CHO (6/5): - Location is convenient. Room is clean. WiFi service is bad
- Dexter (8/5): Comfort of the room made up for the WiFi. - The stay was wonderful. The only problem was the WiFi. The WiFi was faulty and would not stay connected.
- Tina (10/5): - Great location and very affordable. Clean and although others have commented that it was noisy I didn’t experience that. Also within walking distance of plenty of restaurants.
- alyssaLopez (6/5): - unnecessary call to know check in time! I shouldnt be rushed to check in. was asked over phone how many adults and children. Then when checking in charged additional for children. He could have notified us then when we spoke over the phone 🙄
- MJ (10/5): - Proximity to Purdue campus and other businesses. Old building but clean and perfect price range.
- Jim (10/5): - The hotel appears to have been constructed in the 1960s or 70s, judging by the layout and construction materials. The basics are unchanged, but most materials have been upgraded/replaced with new materials, including flooring, furnishings, paint, etc. Combined with decent maintenance and very good cleanliness, the hotel provided a pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is exactly what you expect it to be, and nothing more. The people that work there are incredibly nice and the facilities are surprisingly clean. Everything is old and small but for <$100 you can't really beat it in the area on game days.
- sveny5 (2/5): Do not stay here! Gross!!!!!! - This place is absolutely disgusting! Spider webs near the ceiling (with a dead bug caught in one of them), stained blankets, and to top it off a huge flying bug in the bathroom! When I called to ask for someone to get rid of the bugs and bring me clean blankets I was told that no one is here from housekeeping and I should use my shoe to kill the big flying bug in the bathroom! Are you kidding me? I then asked for a refund so that I can go to another hotel and was told that I can leave however no refund will be given to me. I will be forfeiting my money and leaving!
- Nick (6/5): - Guess in the sub-$75 price range, cannot expect a better service. The counter staff are friendly but the owner/manager is outright blunt and curt, not a great friendly customer service kind. When we asked if we could have a 30 mt late check out due to our travel plans, he said a simple “NO” and then walked off. The property was literally empty for the weekend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location and the bedroom was good for the price. It’s just an old property so things can be sort of outdated. The staff were fine, they just weren’t approachable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and well priced. Located as close to campus as you can get.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There are no minimum stuff like body lotion
Shower is horrible and overall bathroom
Location is hard to find
- paulgY4525YH (8/5): It's delightfully shady. - It's a relic from the 1950s...yes. But it's the only hotel next to campus you can get for less than $75 a night, and while it's definitely run down, the neighborhood is not scary. It looks worse from the outside than it does on the inside.
- Sp (6/5): - This is an old place, an average to below average stay place!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It wasn’t as good as normal
Think I will be finding different place to stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good location, close to campus and numerous places to eat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Walking distance to restaurants and Purdue campus.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value for money. Good communication with staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, Good Service - For an older and somewhat dated motel, it was very clean and everything worked satisfactorily. Furniture and interior updates would make it even better.
- STEVEN (8/5): - Pleasant staff. Convenient to Purdue.
- Patrick (4/5): Did the job I suppose - Really depends on what you are looking for. It is near the campus and the location can't be beat. if you are younger and just want a place to lay your head it works. However, during Purdue games, and I am sure it is the case with most hotels in town, the rates charged are exorbitant for what the quality of this place was. I was stuck in town unexpectantly and needed a place to stay so I was thankful I got it. and in the end I have no complaints. But if you are planning a trip and do not need to be near the campus, I have a feeling there are better places to stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It had a retro 70’s vibe. It was cheap and convenient, so I can’t complain.
- 895alvinc (8/5): Nice reasonable hotel and pleasant staff. - We have stayed here multiple times over the 4 years our son has attended Purdue and we have never had a bad experience. Rooms have always been clean and the service has always been very pleasant. Will continue to use hotel when we visit for sports events.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old but clean - The room was clean however it was very dated. It did look like they are working on updating with new flooring in bathroom, shower & bedding could use some modernizing along with updating the outside of building, at least a fresh coat of paint. The Campus Inn is very conveniently located to everything, we would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a very convenient place to stay at while at Purdue for few days.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was cleaned but not very well, but check in was super fast and easy. Close to everything
- Carlos (2/5): Just stay away. Ugly, smelly, dirty. - This place is a real dump. There were year-old stains in carpets and sofa. Smelled bad. Furniture not updated since the 1950's. Horrible, horrible, horrible. We ended up leaving for another nearby hotel and losing our money rather than staying here.
- CBA91cx (2/5): One tip: stay away from this place :( - I may be getting a bit pickier as I get older, maybe... but I cannot understand some of the good reviews I see on TA for this place. It is ugly, dirty, and smelled bad. The rooms are big and there is free parking near Purdue University but that is about it. The carpets were stained, the room was dark (almost no lamps and there was no translucent courtains so you either stay dark or exposed to all passer byes in this motel style place). There was a couch with years old stains on it, the rest of the furniture was from the 1970s.
In the end we decided to lose our paid night and get a place somewhere else, this motel was just not a place I could sleep in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Need some work in the shower area in room 220.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Liked the location.
- Mary (4/5): - The Campus Inn is located very close to the Purdue campus - that it's only redeeming quality! And, of course, paying only $75.00 a night is very helpful to people on a tight budget. The motel looks like it's 75 years old, peeling paint, etc. The office staff were pleasant, no problem checking in or out. The motel itself was quiet when we stayed, but River Rd. must be a truck route, it was very noisy!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - close to Purdue, but too close to the busy street , noisy.
- Gonzalo (8/5): Affordable hotel near Purdue Campus - The building is kind of old, but very clean and well maintained. It is very conveniently located near the Purdue Campus.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location at Wabash landing. Walking distance to movies, restaurants, campus and downtown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place food nearby easy parking would highly recomend this place
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked that the hotel was walking distance to some restaurants and a movie theater. Getting onto the hotel property was confusing for me and there was construction near the hotel that I could hear all night. Also, the sound on the tv in my room was cutting in and out. I liked the early 2:00 pm check in and 11: am check out times. The room was clean and the pillows in my room were fluffy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect if you just need a place to sleep close to campus. Not in the best condition but for its price and location, I stay here every time I’m in Purdue
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It’s a cheap motel. It’s a bed for the night, nothing more. All of our beds were different. Our shower was not comfortable. There’s just not a lot of effort going into the rooms. The tv is old school. I mean, it’s “fine” if you’re a group of guys hanging out. It’s no good for families or kids. It’s the bare minimum.
- Wade (8/5): - A little older, but you can’t beat it for location and price.
- JAD (8/5): - Receptionist was very friendly upon check-in and departure. Room was clean albeit not new. My only criticism was that on cold winter nights, the room was too chilly without the window unit turned on but when the heat WAS on, I roasted even with the heat turned to the very lowest level. The place is not the Taj Mahal, but it's not priced like that either. I'd stay again, but hopefully not in the same room at the same time of year.
- Dexter (8/5): A Modern Classic Hotel - It was refreshing to step back to a time of simple hotel stay. Aside from the modern Wifi, I enjoyed my stay. I had a very pleasant time. The only thing that would have made my stay better would be a microwave in the room. Had a great night sleep in my bed and fresh pillow. I look forward to another stay in the future when I travel that way. The scenery in the area was very pleasant.
- S (10/5): - Great location in downtown area where a lot of restaurants, bus stops and shops are easily accessible in minutes. They have ample parking. Rooms are comfortably big. When I visited, the rooms were clean with no reason to complain. The walls are thin and you can hear the next room people if they are little loud. The break fast is average with bread, bagel, mini muffins, juice and filtered coffee and tea bags with hot water. They have a policy of not to charge until you check in. I would definitely recommend this if you want to get a feel of university life of students
- Miranda (8/5): - You can't beat this location! If you don't require fancy accommodations, this place is for you. It's simple but clean and comfortable. It's easy to walk from. The staff was pleasant.
- Shannon (10/5): - This was the best hotel deal I've ever had in the Lafayette area. The room was spotless, had plenty of towels, a comfortable bed, a decent breakfast, and a wonderful owner/host. Walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants was helpful. Everything was in order and I will stay here again next time we visit our Purdue daughter.
- Mina (10/5): - Was clean and suited my needs. The wifi was a bit choppy, but overall was a pleasant stay.
- Don (8/5): Minimalism - Housekeeping was very good; the rest was good but minimal. No bottom-sheets, they used two tom-sheets. ...?
- marilyn (6/5): - Hotel staff members were very pleasant.
Hotel was near many restaurants, easy to access, near the event we were attending.
Refrigerator didn't work.
Didn't advertise that there was no bath tub, just a shower.
Second story steps were not level which threw me off balance.
For the price and convenience, was good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Convenient, safe, friendly.
Old rooms, freeze or fry air conditioning, pretty basic. Nothing in Purdue is cheap and this is probably best value.
- Daniel R (8/5): Pleasant Surprise at a Reasonable cost. - We in town on an emergency and were happy to find a clean, quiet room close to town. The air conditioning worked great which made a huge difference in the 90 + degree heat. We had all the amenities we wanted. A fridge, coffee maker, and clean comfortable beds. We were not looking for anything fancy we were not going to use and that's what we found in this hotel. Continental breakfast was fine for those in a hurry and the coffee was good. The room did not have a shower which was fine since we rarely use hotel tubs. We were close to everything, we caught a movie and ate dinner (not fast food) at locations less than or only a block away. The location gave us time to relax a little instead of spending our precious time driving back and forth to the Purdue veterinary hospital and the hotel. Fortunately our dog is recovering from his injury. Despite the challenging circumstances we enjoyed our stay and intend to go back.
- Patrick (6/5): Fix your Wifi! - This is a very basic, no frills motel. The bed was too soft, but not terrible. The room has a fridge, but not a microwave. The Wifi was almost un-useable. It worked once in a while, then I would lose connection. That was my only true complaint. When I checked out, the attendant did not ask about my stay.
- vij (8/5): - nice motel at this price, nearest to purdue university -a walking distance to all the restaurant and shopping
- tobyc530 (8/5): Clean, comfortable and perfectly placed - In many ways this is a 5*establishment-it functions perfectly as a place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and the bed was comfortable.
Sure some of the furniture has seen better days but that doesn’t detract from the overall quality. I would thoroughly recommend-it’s an easy walk to campus and to the large array of good restaurants in town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great, considering how close it is to Purdue. Just a little old, that's all.
- Kristin (8/5): Budget friendly room - Great location for my needs. Staff were very polite. Room was clean, nothing fancy but everything I needed. Bed was very firm, I'd have preferred different pillows, they were quite dense, but they were fine for one night.
- Dordaneh (8/5): Actually very good, considering the price - It was very good and I will definitely consider it for next time. The staff were friendly and responsive and I felt good, for the price I had paid of course :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): For the price, it was a deal - If you rate this place based on the price, it's a great value. Its mom and pop owned, we were allowed an early check in without issue. The room was old, but clean, mattress was firmed. Our AC was not working, but was fixed right away. It's was a quick layover, it met our needs!
- Bryant (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. The mattresses are hard and hotel is old but was a great value. All we needed was a place to sleep and close access to Purdue. This hotel fit the bill.
- Joanna (6/5): Great - except for very bad insulation - The only problem with this motel, and it's a big one, is the lack of insulation and room thermostat. So either the loud heater is on and it's too hot and noisy to sleep, or it's much too cold. It's a shame, as otherwise the motel is great value - spacious rooms, good wifi, access to fridge/microwave/coffee maker, adequate breakfast and friendly staff.
- lisa (6/5): - Convenient to Purdue. Fine if all your doing is sleeping there.
- Kelly (10/5): Happy I took the chance - I don't require much but hate a filthy room. I took a chance to save money and thus time it really paid off. Hotel is older but my room is in great condition. Roomy and very clear as is the bathroom and bed. Check in staff is very friendly as well. Couldn't be happier
- Erich505 (6/5): Not fancy, but clean and comfortable: a fine value - Last year my wife didn't travel with me on my annual trip to visit my family, so I thought I'd save a good bit of money over the nearby Hilton and try out the Campus Inn. Why not, I'm not fancy.
Well, I liked the Campus Inn just fine, and I mentioned it to my wife. When she came along on this year's visit, she suggested we give it a try. She was perfectly happy that we did (and she IS fancy, but is able to recognize a value when she sees it).
As I found last year, the Campus Inn property remains secure and the rooms cozy, clean and comfortable. The Campus Inn doesn't provide a fancy experience, but certainly gives a visitor everything he needs. WiFi works fine, the hot water is hot, the heater works, the room, sheets and bathroom are clean, a microwave, fridge and continental breakfast (muffins, packaged pastries, bagels, cream cheese, coffee and teas) and provided, the location is tough to beat, and the price is _very_ reasonable.
It's not fancy, but it may be just what you are after.
- Erich505 (6/5): In no way fancy, but clean and comfortable: a fine value - Last year my wife didn't travel with me on my annual trip to visit my family, so I thought I'd save a good bit of money over the nearby Hilton and try out the Campus Inn. Why not, I'm not fancy.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean but old - Nice staff, good location for Campus visit would stay again.
- Sophie (10/5): on par w/ a 5-star hotel, but better - continental breakfast second to none: smoked salmon, italian sofas, hot meats. very accomodating female staff. great location. huge curved-screen 4th gen TV. the best hotel ever.
- YHeRu (6/5): Dive in right location. - College family weekends are hugely difficult for lodging options, as you know. If all you want is a clean bed and a warm shower in the right location, this works. However, you will find yourself dying to get out of there by night two. Seventies feel, awful lighting in bathroom, no breakfast or workout room. But you DO get a parking spot walking distance for likely wherever you need to go.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Well located old hotel - Hotel is conveniently located, near to good restaurants and Purdue campus.
Room was neat and clean, but it's old and dated. That should not be an issue if the price would be right.
Perhaps due to the fact that it was a game weekend the rate was too high for what the hotel is.
- Easir (8/5): Close to campus, free breakfast - Good staying experience. Cheap. Compared to price it's good. Good location. Close to campus
- Kurtis (8/5): Get what you pay for - You get what you pay for. It was cheap and for work confortable. I wouldn’t want to hang out there but for sleeping it’s fine
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean and Functional - Campus Inn is my go to hotel at Purdue. It is clean, safe, and functional. Walking distance to campus. Decor is outdated and its not flashy but it does the job.
- SC (6/5): Close to Purdue and restaurants - A convenient location for visiting Purdue, it is cheap and the conditions are OK for a short stay
- Jay (8/5): Close to Purdue Campus, close to lots of eateries. - Pleasant, quick, cheap, and close to lots of easy to reach areas.
- Mary S (6/5): Clean but old n worn - It was clean. It had a great location close to amenities and Purdue. The breakfast in the morning was slim pickings but at least he low price, what do u expect? The coffee was HORRIFIC.
- Keith (4/5): Campus Inn - I've stayed here a few times in the past and the condition of this motel seems to be getting worse and worse. I don't think the owner cares because the location for Purdue parents/guests is ideal. $80.00 plus tax a night........never again!
- Kevin (8/5): Three and a half stars - Nice stay. I didn't stay in the motel very long, partly due to the motel's proximity to campus. Relatively inexpensive, but then I was there during the summer. Three and a half stars.
- Karen (8/5): Convenient to Purdue Campus - Economical - Wouldn't hurt for them to change out the toilet paper holders. No big deal, but rusted, and detracts.
- Keith (6/5): Cheap and clean - No frills but it was clean. If you want cheap and clean then this is the place for you. If you are looking high class then go elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): old but good value - It's a bit run down; the furniture is probably decades old. But the sheets are only a few years old, and the bathroom has old but clean tile. Reminds me of college. A/C worked well. Great bang for the buck. I would probably not pay $100 more for the fancy Hilton a few blocks away unless I had to spend a lot of time at the hotel. And then I might call the Purdue Memorial Union (unlisted).
- Taylor (8/5): Affordable hotel very close to Purdue University - Pros: Very close to Purdue University. Quiet place. Clean linen and towels. Regular housekeeping.
Cons: Air conditioner wasn't properly working.
- annie (6/5): Get what you pay for - The air conditioning was very loud and kept kicking on and off. The bed and pillows were not particularly comfortable. But there was a mini fridge and all of the usual amenities. The office worker was extremely nice! The free breakfast was bagels and muffins from a bag. It was good for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic and clean - Arrived @ 10:30pm and just slept one night. Nothing is special but convenient location for college visit. Front desk helped me how to get to school. I will stay again.
- Nadia (4/5): Extremely disappointing - I have stayed at basic motels all over the country before, and know what to expect. This was one of my more disappointing stays. Everything was old, the room was musty, the heating didn't work, and it was noisy. The hotel was almost empty, so I can only imagine that it would be a lot noisier if there were more customers.
The free breakfast, again, was among the worst, most frugal breakfasts I've ever seen at any motel. I can't tell if it was good or not, as it all looked so unappealing that I did not touch anything.
I had a two night reservation, I left first thing in the morning after one night, without wanting to step in the shower, and ended up staying at another hotel for my second night.
- W (6/5): ok for overnight stay - Not a luxury hotel but ok for an overnight stay. Close to Purdue University.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location close to purdue. Notbing special. Refrigerator kept making noise. Really old crt tv.
- jennygrizz (8/5): Great affordable find - We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a concert at Purdue University. The check in guy was very helpful, suggesting places to eat and things to do, directions etc. The check out lady was also very amenable. The room itself, whilst basic, had everything we needed and was clean and well maintained. The hotel is in a very good location, with many bars and restaurants within a short walk. In fact our room backed onto a very busy and excellent Irish bar and we couldn't hear it at all from the room. We didn't have any issues at all with our stay and will certainly stay here again.
- Steve (6/5): Fairly priced, fair stay - At this price it was not bad at all. Very helpful front desk. Very convenient for Perdue visits
