Guest Reviews
- James (8/5): - Nice room for the money! Not the Holliday Inn but room was clean and bed was comfortable!
Would definitely stay again for the Sturgis rally
- Tim (2/5): demand a refund! - Not the cleanist room! Missing lock on door besides doornob lock! Fridge unpluged and didnt work when plugged in! Batterys in remote died, couldnt turn channel or volume, went to talk to owner/manager and he has no batterys so i asked him to give me the ones out of lobby remote where he was and he said no and its to late to go to store and buy them 9:30pm! No controls on tv to manualy change station! Dead bugs in bathtub! No coffee cup for there little coffee maker! light buy outside window was to brite in room!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room was clean; property old and undergoing some renovation; work started early. Standard amenities missing or not working. WiFi weak. Front desk friendly. Very overpriced.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Bed was comfortable. Room could have been cleaner. Toilet leaked, fridge did not work, dead bolt on door missing. Microwave was operational. Water in bathroom was hot. Wall a/c took 2 days to cool room. Check-in and check-out quick.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Keep expectations low - My expectations were pretty low but the cleanliness of the room set the tone. There was someone else’s razor left in the shower with hair on it, hair all over the bathroom floor, and the bedsheets were certainly not changed from the last patron. Lucky I was only there for 1 night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Nothing
- Verified traveler (4/5): needs a good cleaning - Needs a good cleaning. Socks were black and dont clean behind bathroom door. No ice. Refrig and microwave did work. Lots of hot water!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No extra toilet paper, no shampoo, luck warm water for the shower
- JAMIE (2/5): - BEWARE! This place is in the top 2 of worst places I've ever stayed at. Please spend the extra $10 and stay at the Super 8 if you need to stay in Belle Fouche. First off the room smelt like mildew with a nice undertone of body odor. I have a bad back and the sink was only 3 feet off the ground. Bathroom door did not close completely so it couldn't be locked. Linoleum floor was so uneven I was afraid I was going to twist an ankle. Got the room because the place is pet friendly, took my dog for a walk and the owner seen us started petting the dog and being friendly to her. Next thing you know he hurling threats at me because I didn't tell him we had a dog. Saying he could charge us $250 extra. I told him all the other hotels I checked into that were pet friendly asked or didn't care if I had a dog. He said it was my responsibility to tell him and someone could die if they went into a room that previously had a dog and they had a severe allergy. I calmly told him OK he kept ranting it was not OK so I slowly walked away before I lost it on the jerk.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Filthy - I had to kill about 30 flys. It was absolutely disgusting. It was the only option to get some sleep. We slept in all of our clothes used our own blankets. I had to go buy bug spray to stop the flys from swarming all over your body. Hair in the bed. The nasty motel ive ever stayed at.
- Amy (10/5): Very nice accommodations - We had a quick weekend trip and really enjoyed our stay . The room was really clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owner has made some nice upgrades - new paint and flooring. There is still work being done on the outside decking. Location was perfect for our activities which were at one of the local parks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Kleenex box was empty. No coffee by coffee pot or any cups or anything. Blinds were filthy and got me all dirty, when shutting them. Flys really bad. Other the flys we slept good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bed was the best part. It was an ok room that was what we expected. We had no real complaints.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location and staff were great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was ok
- John (4/5): Avoid this motel!!! - The owner takes no pride in his motel. The bathroom counter nor the toilet had been cleaned. The pillow cases were stained. There was no coffee available in room or in lobby. Avoid this motel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Broken down cars in front of the check in office. room advertised as non smoking smelled horrible! Don't know how this place even made it on Expedia. it took four hours to get things resolved with Expedia to get refund started. they did not send me the back up email to verify the refund. used the excuse that covid caused the delay. think i will use a different travel site next time.
- Aaron (2/5): Absolutely the worse place ever. - The owner/manager was very rude. Cursed me multiple times and called me abusive names when I asked about safety of area. Place looked very dirty and nasty never made it into room before he told me to leave for asking. He threatened myself and cursed my wife. I travel all over the country and have had to stay in shady places. But this is far the worse ever. We ended up sleeping in our vehicles due to nowhere else available.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Air conditioner didn't work, sheets were dirty, no hair dryer, didn't honor quoted price and unfriendly service. Would not stay there again.
- Tammy (8/5): - Gentleman at front desk was very nice! We arrived late evening and left early morning it was quite, we got the rest we needed since we had been on the road for 20 hrs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room and easy check in. Staff pretty friendly too.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nothing in the room worked - Tv, shower, hairdryer, fridge and microwave did not work
- Samantha (6/5): - The property was decently clean, only exception was a junk pile on the property next to the staircase leading to our room. However it was not a good value for the price I paid (almost $150 for one night).
- laurie (6/5): Just so so - You get what you pay for at this place. It was the cheapest place to stay and they allow pets.
- BRANDON (10/5): Book a room at the Kings Inn - We stayed here for the motorcycle rally. It is about 30 minutes from the center of the event, but the ride is worth it if you enjoy peace and quiet. The owner was great. Very excited personality, and very helpful. The rooms are BRIGHT, but after settling in, it’s hardly noticeable. I’d definitely come back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad for business - We reserved a room in Jan for the bike rally in Aug, to celebrate our anniversary and to see ZZ Top play. I am in the healthcare field and all vacations were recently cancelled due to the virus. I contacted the hotel and the man was extremely rude and was yelling. I contacted my credit card and they asked the hotel about this issue. Hotel wrote bach so sorry , we need to survive. So we are out almost 900$. I feel he could have returned at least half. What a terrible attitude. Never again
- Paul (8/5): - Average condition
- Aaron (8/5): Good value for the money. - Nice comfortable place to stay. Good value.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property is in a fairly quiet location. The outside is nice but the inside was dirty. There was a lot of hair in the bathroom, on the floor and in the bathtub/shower unit. The overall feel on the inside was not very clean. There was only one window closure which wasn't very tight.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My first impression of the hotel was UH, OH! Quite a few old cars sitting around, green stucco, no actual sign on the building. The room however was very clean and spacious. But my biggest complaint were the people coming and going at all hours with no attempt to be quiet.
- Ron (8/5): Clean Room, Right Price, Accommodating Owner - The King's Inn is an affordably priced motel. Our room was modern, updated and clean, and worth the savings compared to nearby motels. For this price, you are not going to get a luxury hotel room, but again, it was clean, nice and comfortable. The owner is very friendly and personable. Our refrigerator did not work and when I told him about this upon checkout (it was not a big deal to us to have a fridge), he said I should have said something earlier, as he would have replaced it for us immediately. Friday night when we returned from our excursions in the Black Hills, I could not find a parking space - the motel is next to a bowling alley and bar/restaurant - so I parked in the only open spot, which was an emergency lane whose markings were not clear to me. The next morning, the owner suggested I ought not to have parked there because I would have been towed. I explained I could not find a spot and he said I could have woken him up. The next night, Saturday, there were plenty of spots, and Sunday as well. Upon check-in, the room had quite a few flies, but I assumed this was because the door was left open during its cleaning, and flies from outside came in. After killing the flies with brochures from the lobby, we had no other problems with bugs during our stay. The bed was clean and comfortable. The shower was clean and had very good water pressure. There was in-room coffee and a microwave. Again, worth the savings compared to other nearby motels.
- Robert (2/5): No good news here - On a scale of 1 to 5 , I would give it a 1. The amenities were minimal , to say the least. The upstairs leaked water into the room. Slow draining of toilet, sink and shower. The only thing that worked well was the air conditioner, but it was cold and raining at that time . TP dispenser was not even installed correctly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible. Had to wake up the front desk and he was mad we woke him up.
Tv didn’t work, toilet paper holder hanging from wall. 2 large Spiders in the room as well. One had a small
Web on the wall. Worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Woke up early to leave
- Verified traveler (4/5): - with the facility condition, it is overpriced. there is no ice maker provided.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worse motel ever. - Room was filthy, the towels were brown and floor was sticky, the bathroom didn’t look like it was cleaned in years. The bedding was dirty I have stayed in a lot of motels but this one was by far the worst.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - the heat-air conditioning grill has not been cleaned for a long time. the bathroom door sticks and no rug on the floor to catch the gravel and sand and water that got tracked through the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good room for a fair price - Clean room, good linen, the owner is great and attentive to his guests.
- georgeklassen (6/5): - had to leave 2 days early.family matter.didnt get a refund.absolutely not.
- Brad (8/5): Bikers galore - Great trip to the Sturgis area.
- Mel (2/5): - Small crowded parking lot and rude front desk attendant
- Sandra (8/5): Just okay, everything else was full! - This place is a bit older, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Check in was prompt. The rooms need black-out curtains so the light from outside isn't blaring through the blinds! Cups weren't individually wrapped and the shower nozzle was like being hit by a pressure washer...lol
- Kathleen (2/5): Worse motel ever in all my travels. - This is the first motel that I have ever stayed at that did not offer ice. It was too expensive to offer ice. We had to buy our ice from the nearby store. The website said"restaurant and terrace , etc. as amenities". The proprietor said the restaurant was next door. Not on his property. We were charged more than the booking on the web stated. He informed us that the web site did not include "taxes," and we should take up the matter with the web site. He also stated that his price was lower than the Super 8 across the street. That was incorrect. Bottom line, please check Amenities on website and call hotels before booking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was ok. Probably won’t stay again. The room was ok for an old motel. They need to update the towels and bedding. Sheets were clean but quite worn. No ice machine but a store next door.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible customer service. - No shampoo in the rooms. Manager told me to shut up 2 times.
- Sheila (4/5): Disgusting room. - The floor was like walking on the beach. Sand was everywhere. Manager claimed it was from not wiping feet. The floor had sand on it when we stepped into the room. We had no sand on our feet. The bathroom had a empty toilet paper roll on the floor. Who cleaned the room. Must have been a 3 year old.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Every thing was good except the foor was dirty
- Vicki (4/5): Don't waste your time. - Apparently it was off season or something. There was NO toilet paper, only 6 tissues, small small bars of soap and no shampoo or anything else. No carpet, only laminate flooring which apparently has not been swept became it was gritty with dirt. The pillows were so soft they were nonexsistent. The heater didn't work properly, ran all night on high and it was still cold. The guy at the desk was nice enough but young and very quiet. Didnt give us a receipt, just gave us the key card with no envelope and told us our room number. The restaurant next door was amazing tho.
- Marianne B. (6/5): Good value. - Average room at a good price. No ice, no breakfast, no WiFi but clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cheap and okay for a quick stay - The owner was really nice and the inn was pet friendly (make sure to let them know bc only certain rooms are). The dog friendly room had none carpet flooring which was great. The bedding was a little questionable on smell but it was fine for a nights sleep. The bathroom could have been cleaner there were little groups of bugs in all the corners could be easily taken care of by a proper cleaning. All in all it was perfect and cheap for staying a nigh or two.
