- Erin (10/5): The Perfect Resort - I stayed at the Island House for my best friends birthday trip. It was about 17 of us and the property was perfect for all aspects. We enjoyed the pool, the onsite movie theater, the restaurants and the gym. The staff: Kera, Tamara, Jarvis, Roshado were all so accommodating and wonderful. I’ll be back!!

The hotel offered a variety of restaurants for dining; my favorite was Yellowbell. I enjoyed my stay here because it provided a calm and laid back environment. I was able to rest and relax and have fun. My only concern was the description of the room, The Marina View Room, which did not offer a view of the Marina. The Manager advised this was the actual name for the 2nd floor rooms and not rooms that allow you to see the Marina.They are working on changing that description on their website because it is very misleading. However, overall I would say it is a very nice and inviting hotel where the staff is attentive to your needs. I would recommend it for your next vacation.
- R1813IQheatherc (10/5): Island House Spa Visit - Island House Spa I felt emotionally drained and had pain and limitation in my right hip when I came into see Lynn Lowe, the master therapist at the island house. She combined various techniques as she worked on me, from stretching to massage and tools she used and all were infused with her presence and passion for her work. Her work is Magic, like nothing I’ve ever experienced - really, it’s her expression of a therapeutic art that she’s clearly gifted in. I was in such need of focused self care and I left feeling lighter, happpier and my pain was gone. Needless to say, I’m grateful! I needed every bit of that extended treatment and I look forward to seeing you again!

My family and I dined at the restaurant by the pool. We enjoyed our food while relaxing at the poolside. Our server Dom in particular made the experience for us. His engagement with my family made it easy to relax and enjoy our time. The food was also amazing I highly recommend going !

The staff and management made everyone feel completely at home during a challenging time. I just returned (April 2025) and had a 90-minute massage with the incredible Lynn Lowe. It was far more than a massage—her energy was healing, spiritual, and deeply restorative. My aches and pains vanished. If you’re lucky enough to book a session with Lynn, you’ll leave wondering: Has she ever experienced the kind of magic she gives to others? I never have—this was truly one of a kind.

- y-gro-up (10/5): Ahhhh… tranquility!!! - enjoyed our stay at the island house! Especially after we spent a few days later in the week at Atlantis. Opposite ends of the spectrum. Peace and quiet, friendly service, tranquility at the island house versus loud, crowded, and rude at Atlantis. I individually reviewed the restaurants we ate at. Had a great experience at Mogano and Yellowbell, and an OK experience at Shima. Bamford spa was nice, but for that type of resort could stand to have some upgrades such as robes and showering beforehand. We did a couples massage. My wife’s was excellent. Mine was just OK. Some shout outs to staff that made a difference in our stay, gotta love Roshado, one of the bartender at yellow Bell… also Mona Lisa, our waitress atMogano. Additionally, Freddie at the beach took great care of us and the shuttle driver was excellent as well. Our server at Shima was subpar our room was wonderful, would love to go back one day and strongly recommend

- NicolaJane85 (6/5): Customer Service Unavailable - Having experienced other Caribbean islands & researched hotels in Nassau, we were thoroughly looking forward to this trip. Unfortunately, it did not get off to the best start with our room not being available and this very much being glossed over at check in. This was the theme of the holiday, where there was a complete lack of interest in the hotel guests and feeling like you had to keep asking questions to get any information (and as first timers on the island trying to find out where to go, this would have been helpful - the hotel WiFi & TikTok to the rescue!) The hotel taxi’s were not any better, struggling to even give a basic “hello” when getting in the vehicle and probably best not to get started on the cost of them - alongside everything else (be prepared to spend when you come to Nassau because nothing is “cheap!!”) The hotel is also situated under the final approach to the airport, so expect planes every 5-15 minutes. The room and particularly the bathroom were lovely and definitely experienced some great nights sleep. Shima was also a highlight. Overall, I can’t say I would recommend this hotel or that I would return to Nassau. If you want a truly Caribbean experience try some of the smaller islands and give this one a miss - your bank balance will definitely thank you!!
- Sunnyacre (6/5): The Island house, Nassau Bahamas - Disappointing. On arrival no room available in our grade so had to move the next morning and unpack. The room was spacious with very comfortable beds and a large bathroom. Planes constantly landing at Nassau airport made it very noisy from 7am until late into the evening. The highlight of the trip was a boat trip from Nassau to visit pigs on an island, turtles and snorkelling off the boat. We will not be returning!!

My only issue is that I ordered beef tacos and the beef was very chewy so alerted the waiter expecting him to offer me something else, he just looked at me, surprised and turned away For such a high-end hotel was surprised that I wasn’t offered something else since I was hungry so after $75 of “bits” I left ravenous… poor first impression and cannot recommend.

Our server CJ was very attentive and went beyond to ensure we enjoyed our experience. The food, service and environment is top tier! Excellent service CJ! I would absolutely recommend this place!
- Andrew (8/5): - Convenient for the airport. Rooms were nice and facilities ( pool and gym). However, the gym air con was not on high enough and therefore too hot, there was no water in the gym in the morning, there were no towels in the pool showers and generally the service to get drinks outside was slow.
- MelisBry (10/5): Exceptional Stay - The Island House is exceptional. We had a cottage that was spacious. The patio area had a table and seating for 4 people-- a great place for breakfast. It was a few steps from their gorgeous pool and a short drive to the beach (they take you in a private car). The food was amazing and the beds were comfortable. This hotel is a tranquil retreat geared towards adults but is also child-friendly. The service is top-notch and very friendly. We ate lunch poolside and enjoyed breakfast at Yellowbell. We ate dinner at Shima and Mogano and enjoyed our meals at both establishments, although the curry dishes at Shima stood out. Perfection. You will not be disappointed.

Her mind-bodywork therapy sessions stand apart as the best, personalized extraordinarily integrative healing sessions I have had the privilege of receiving. I say this as a medical professional and specialist in longevity and regenerative medicine, as well as someone with personal experience of a wide range of healing modalities and therapists. I am particularly impressed by her personalized approach, the time she takes to listen to and assess the whole-person before the laying on of hands on them, the care and attention she brings to the session, as well extensive knowledge of a wide range of physiological, mind-body therapeutic and healing modalities she integrates into her work. Finally, she stands apart in her appreciation of the importance of education and inspiring self-empowerment of her clients. I have rarely left a therapy session with Lynn without a list of health-enhancing activities, nutritional guidance and/or exercises to do at home to continue the healing and self-improvement obtained during the session. - 320neelk (10/5): A true luxury experience. - We had a short family vacation to this wonderful hidden gem, and we were incredibly satisfied with our stay. The property itself is serene, lush, and beautiful in every way. The rooms are incredibly clean, spacious, and designed in a highly luxurious way. They spared no expense building this place and it shows. Before I get to a quick pros and cons, I want to shout out some special people who helped make our stay as enjoyable as possible, each of them showing my family and I incredible warmth, hospitality, and care: -the bellmen, D and Kaleb -the hotel pool host, Thorn -the beach hosts, Lawson and Marco -the concierge, Kera -our waiter at Shima, Kevin -the manager of the hotel, whose name unfortunately slips my mind All of the above, and others, treated us with impeccable care, warmth, and joy. We are very lucky to have met all of you. Honestly there are no cons at this place. It's all pros: the beach, the rooms, the pool, the facilities, the property itself, and most of all the people. Our favorite restaurant was Shima, but the real gem for us was the island pizza place where our family had some awesome meals of incredibly good wood-fired pizza (better than anything I've had back home) which is nestled in a lush green patio space. The weather was great while we were there. The beach has incredibly clean, manicured sand and the waves were flowing beautifully. All-in-all, a true 5-star experience. I won't go saying it is high value for the cost, but I will undoubtedly say one gets their moneys worth here. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff!

- Dominique (8/5): - Stayed here for about 5 days…so Here’s a Honest review: Pros The STAFF amazing !!!! From the front desk staff to the wait staff. Dining experience is also 5/5! The pizza shop and Italian Restaurant amazing! Property definitely has amazing food. I’m a picky eater , very picky so if I say it was amazing it was very good. Upscale crowd. Not many kids on site. A lot of locals come in to use the facilities; which made me feel very comfortable. Small resort, a peace of mind away from the busy tourist areas. 24 hour gym Cons: No wait staff by pool at all! Very annoying. No towels, you gotta flag down someone to get service outside. Although wait staff was attentive when needed inside the Yellowbell ; very chatty in the corners ..you can tell it’s young staff. A little unprofessional. Housekeeping! Ugh 😑 there was only one housekeeper that unfortunately cleaned my room to satisfaction. The others on duty barely cleaned the front of my suite , barely made my bed or replaced towels. It was annoying. The one housekeep;young lady named Angel you could tell she was trained differently than the older staff and cared about hospitality. She would even leave jazz music playing on our tvs once she left. She was just amazing ! Room floors and carpet could be up Kept better. ( kinda raggedy for the price of the hotel) Other than that again the stay was a nice one! Will definitely return just for the staff and food alone! Thank you for a fun week at the Bahamas! 🇧🇸
- filippoc441 (4/5): Nice Looking Cinema, bad service… - Very nice cinema, the 2 person sofa is is nice and the screen and audio. Unfortunately, our experience watching Deadpool and Wolverine was ruined because the movie was cut off twice. The first time was a technical error, but none of the staff noticed and we had to go and find someone. Eventually the movie was restarted, but the staff member failed to rewind to the spot where we were cut off - loosing a small portion of the movie, however right in the middle of an intense scene. The second time the staff intentionally cut the movie halfway through the end credits. As with all Marvel movies everyone waits for the post credits scene, but I guess it was more important for the staff member to go home earlier. When we asked about why it was cut off before the end of the movie, we were simply met with a “not my problem”. We can’t be sure it was intentional, but it felt like it. An expensive ticket and nice seats are simply not worth it, if you can’t play the movie. You had one job.

Beyond the oversized rooms, treetop property and ritzy location of Lyford Cay; I appreciate the thoughtful design of open work spaces, fabulous decor and intimate, tropical garden. It’s a wonderful alternative to the area’s large resorts and casinos. Dinner at Yellowbird, TERN Contemporary Art Gallery and the authentic Italian Market are lovely and the treetop views from both restaurants, make a sleepover worthwhile.
- travelmommyny (10/5): Stay here! But don't go telling everyone... - If you're looking for peace, relaxation, attention to detail and natural beauty, this is your spot in the Bahamas. A true hidden gem. Initially we were concerned about the hotel not having direct beach access, but those worries melted away when we arrived at the property's beach after a quick 5 minute drive. The hotel provides car service to and from their private beach - they have an arrangement with Old Fort Bay Club - and we never had an issue accessing the service when we wanted. The beach is truly stunning. Some of the most beautiful sand and crystal water we've ever seen. The beach is practically empty as the only people who can access it either stay at Island House or live in the massive mansions that line the beach. Greg provided us with excellent beach service over our vacation, bringing us drinks and delicious food. The hotel itself is lovely. Our room was marketed as "marina view", but the trees at a neighboring property had grown and blocked any view of the water. The hotel wasn't at capacity and Bianca was very helpful in moving us to a deluxe room that maintained its water views. Both drinks and breakfast at Yellowbell were wonderful. The service was attentive and the atmosphere and decor were both hip and comfortable. There seemed to be a regular stream of high end local residents who have a membership at the hotel to use the pool, gym, spa and restaurants. This never created crowding, but rather added to the international feel and the daily bustle. Dinner at Mogano was excellent. The restaurant is modern and well designed and the food is delicious. The service was a bit lacking, but we weren't looking to rush through our meal. Twice we took a taxi in the evening to BahaMar for the casino and drinks. It was an easy 20 minute drive and fun to experience something so different from our home base at Island House. That said, we were thrilled to return to the sanctuary of our resort at the end of the night. Overall a relaxing, beautiful and delicious trip to celebrate our anniversary. We wouldn't hesitate to return and hope to sooner than later!

- Deborah (10/5): - The Island House is a unique property on the island. Quiet and exclusive. The property and rooms are beautiful and the staff goes above and beyond to provide great service. While it’s a very small hotel, the dining options provide great variety. We weren’t sure what to expect with the beach access, but we were driven in a private car and picked up whenever we wanted. The private beach is beautiful and quiet, with a beachfront bar and food. There is not a lot to do around the property and you will need to take a 30 minute ride into town for most excursions.

- lindawN4634VL (10/5): Boutique hotel. - Stylish hotel. Extremely comfortable stay in every way. We returned after 2 years and still couldn’t fault anything. Staff are so friendly and helpful , some recognising us from our last stay . Someone always around to help . Rooms are restful. Air conditioning not intrusive . Several swing top bottles of fresh water are replaced daily . We drank this all the time , no need for plastic bottles . Being 2 ladies we enjoyed the huge bathroom with the very private shower which meant the two of us could be in there without necessarily hanging around for one to get out if there was hair washing to be done ! We used both Shima and Mogano restaurants and they didn’t disappoint. Celebrities and locals eat here too so a further recommendation. As ladies we were invited to share our plates in Shima as the portions are a good size . A wise decision as it turned out . There is also a pizza restaurant just outside the security gates where you can eat or collect or have the pizza delivered to the hotel . There is a large table outside reception,overlooking the gardens , where guests could be seen enjoying their pizzas and drinking wine . Tapas bites in the evening are available from Yellowbell and we enjoyed those whilst listening to jazz on Thurs evening. Yellowbell is where you breakfast and enjoy cocktails . Locals come up for both brunch and cocktails . The food is good. Good selection of pool bites are available for lunch and these can be ordered to take to the beach . There is a shop a short walk down the drive . You can find salads and snacks that you might want for lunch , a good selection of wines too and a corkscrew in the room . No refrigerator though. Our one disappointment was lack of access to The Old Fort Bay club on the beach which they have now denied access to for The Island hotel guests . We enjoyed it very much on our last visit using the complimentary London Taxi drive given to us by the hotel. Not the hotels fault admittedly and they have provided an alternative service to a private beach with a bar but it is very basic in comparison. We very much look forward to our next visit .

The spa, pool, movie theatre, gym are all first class! This hotel offers you an escape from the daily grind and will transport you to a tranquil space for rest and relaxation. I’m glad I chose this hotel as I felt like it was perfect for a female solo traveling looking for peace, quietness and tranquility. The grounds of this property were so beautiful and well kept. I felt there was enough entertainment on the property to keep me satisfied on the days that I did not leave the area. If you are planning to leave the area I would suggest renting a car because this location is far from downtown and the taxis can really add up. The airport is rly close however. The one downside was the shuttle for the beach as when I took the shuttle I didn’t not receive prompt service getting back to the property which felt rly uneasy being left. I would suggest a better shuttle schedule just for the beach. Besides that the staff were amazing and helpful at all times. Top notch customer service. I would absolutely stay again

Everything is designed to perfection- the weight of the coffee cups at Yellowbell restaurant, the lounge chairs by the olympic sized pool, the quality of the towels, everything was chosen with beauty and function in mind. If you read a bad review about TIH, the reviewer is the issue, not the TIH. Things to know: many restaurants on site, beach shuttle to a private beach club that also has amazing food. The place is quiet, calm and peaceful. If you want little Vegas, go to elsewhere. If you want perfection, come here and be cool.

TIH was EXACTLY what my tired mind, body, and spirit needed. The property is clean, the staff are professional, and the rooms are excellent. But what I found most valuable was how quiet and peaceful the property is. Calming but not boring light music in the background, calming and grounding modern color scheme, and generally quiet staff. If you are a traveler looking for a place where you can read by the pool, no social media dominated space, and no upselling, then I highly recommend TIH! I will definitely be back...and soon!

- mariana (10/5): Beautifully designed and managed hotel! - Our stay at The Island House was even better than what we expected. The hotel staff especially in the reception were very friendly. The rooms were exceptionally clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel’s architecture and interior design are of very good taste. The pool area is beautiful and was always tidy. The gym and yoga room are amazing as well. They have special classes going on every now and then in the movement studio. I got to attend a sound healing class in the movement yoga room during my stay. The food in the restaurants was always very good (although somewhat pricey). I personally liked the hospitality, staff and menu in Yellowbell the most. Although there is no “room service” per se, there is a small gourmet market on the hotel property and a pizza place with a nice menu where you can pre-order, if you want to have lunch or dinner in your room. Make sure to ask where these are located. Even though locals and members can visit the restaurants, our experience was generally pretty chill. The hotel is just a 12 minute ride to the airport. And 5 minute ride to the beach. The beach area belongs to a private club and your daily membership is included when you stay. Even though we went in July and it is considered peak season, it was pretty chill and not packed at all which was great.

We chose The Island House because we don't like the high-rise elevator type resorts. We were not disappointed. The Island House is a perfect boutique resort, ALL the staff are friendly and efficient, the grounds are immaculate and the rooms are awesome. All rooms are the same layout (which is huge and with amazing bathroom) they just have different locations on the property - but with 30 rooms none are far away from the gorgeous pool and common areas. No running down early to throw a book on a lounge chair, no fighting other guests for amenities. We chose The Island House because the room price was extremely reasonable compared to some outrageous prices we saw at the 2 big resort locations (you know who they are). We were thrilled to death that we chose The Island House - it's super classy and we will definitely stay again. Their 2 main restaurants are excellent too. PS: on our last 2 days there, John Malkovich and his lady checked in for a few days...if it's good enough for someone who could stay anywhere - it should be good enough for you!
- REX KEVIN (10/5): - This visit was one of the best vacations we have been on. We appreciated the limited number of guest and the ease of accessing Old Fort Bay Beach. It was virtually empty and we could walk and enjoy it at our leisure. The staff was attentive and worked as a unit to insure our comfort. Finally, the ability to relax existed throughout the property with well placed loungers at the pool, in the reception area, the library, and outside of the dining area.

- Jay (2/5): - I booked a 5 day stay at the Island House for the first week of August. While there were no issues during my stay I would like to make future guests aware of dishonest business practices. I booked my stay through Expedia and paid extra for free booking cancellation/modification. For personal reasons I needed to amend my booking to arrive a day later than originally planned. I called Expedia within the free cancellation period and was given confirmation by the customer service agent that my booking would be amended with no fees. Upon arriving at Island House on the new arrival date, I was subsequently made aware by management that my cancellation request was denied and I would be charged for the night that I was not there. I was not given a valid reason why the amendment was not made, despite Expedia confirming it had been. Whether the blame is to be held with Expedia or Island House is of no significance. To be charged nearly C$1000 for a night that I was not at the hotel, and having made the amendment within the free cancellation period and accordance with their policy, is not only entirely unjust but is an instance of two companies acting dishonestly. This not what I would expect from businesses that each core competency is guest experience. I would not recommend using Expedia or Island House to future guests.

The staff were fantastic, very kind and attentive. The facilities were top notch- high end treadmills, pool was quiet and great for doing laps or relaxing. Never had to worry about getting a place to sit by the pool in the shade. Don’t miss the Market which has packaged food and drinks (on the property but hidden a bit!). Highly recommend and we will go back.

- Yasenia (2/5): - I was super excited to stay at The Island House with four of my friends, but when we got there we were told that all five of us weren’t allowed to stay in the double queen room that we booked due to “housekeeping” reasons and that we were required to purchase an additional room for a charge of $1700 on top of the $1800 we already paid for our room. After a bunch of back & forth we were told that a maximum of 4 people are allowed to a room due to safety reasons. It was disappointing that we could not be better accommodated because we were not aware, especially since I had spoken to Antonique, one of the employees a week prior to our arrival to set up transportation and she was aware that there were a total of five people under 1 reservation and one room. Had it been mentioned then we would have found somewhere else to stay. We were only staying 3 nights & pleaded with them for some type of accommodation since we came all this way and had nowhere else to go even if we could just stay for one night until we figured it out, but that wasn’t possible without being charged for the entire weekend. The bigger disappointment was the manager James who could care less that we were essentially stranded and said that we should’ve read the policy. He was very cold & rude. We wasted an entire day going back & forth. They pretended as if there was going to be some type of resolve but kept coming back with the same exact answer. Overall just a very bad experience.
- kara (8/5): - Beautiful stay…the only issues we had were that there was no fridge in the room which is absolutely insane for what you pay, they don’t take cash which we had planned to use, we felt that staff members were talking about us behind the scene which made us very uncomfortable- also we were told things such as our room was ready and our taxi was here…just to find that our room was NOT ready and took another 30-45 mins after having waiting already an hour, and our taxi driver took off once already having arrived to go get gas so we had to wait even longer. Everything was extremely overpriced, would probably not return.
