Guest Reviews
- Oscar (10/5): A top quality treatment - Hotel Helsinki House offers all the amenities one can hope for. Above all, I want to highlight the extreme kindness and helpfulness of the people running the establishment.
- KULSHRESTHA (8/5): -
- Giu.Din (9/5): Helsinki House review - We enjoyed Mary's help in organising activities and transport, that took the load off our shoulders. His help made that stay very smooth!
The hotel is very clean and the rooms we were allocated were spacious and comfortable. Staying here was a great introduction to the local stone architecture in the style of the old havelis.
- Harman (10/5): -
- Saurabh (8/5): Fantastic property for a comfortable stay - I think this is a very good property near to the main fort area, but in a silent neighbourhood. Rooms are spacious with ample seating and storage. Restaurant service is good. The approach road is very narrow. And there are some minor issues in plumbing.
- Muzzammil (10/5): Nice and comfortable stay, would recommend for a short visit - Clean room nice view polite staff 😇 Everything was fine its a nice stay
- Aashna (10/5): Just perfect home away from home. - Overall an amazing stay. The owner, Mr. Maru himself is always present at the property. The staff is quite hospitable. They took care of my food allergies and prepared everything fresh. Rooms are quite spacious and bathrooms pretty clean.
- Diganto (4/5): When you are charging like a 5 star then provide services like a five star - The fort view from the terrace is a looker. We had to request staff a lot with reasons like medical challenges concerning room individuals to get the IN-Room dining arrangement. This was unexpected that hotel does not provides in room dining.
- Antonella (1/5): -
- K S (8/5): - Rooms and hotel aesthetics are good. Location - it's in a gully and no proper transportation.
Also it's next to a dump yard and it always smells
- Kiran (8/5): Very good hotel - Hotel staff and rooms Room need heater in winter
- Rizul (7/5): - rooms were good breakfast was not good
- YOMESH (8/5): Stay comfortable, host very courteous & hospitable, and the staff very efficient. - Very aesthetic & good decor. (1) No wardrobe in the room.
(2) No shower curtain.
(3) No soap & shower tray in the bath area.
(4) No elevator - as the restaurant is on the third floor - very difficult/impossible for senior citizens to go up & down - if the guest room is on the ground floor.
- Mahendra (10/5): Exceptional -
- HASMUKH (10/5): - nice stay.
- Pracheta (6/5): It was very average. The hotel has a lot of potential but it needs a better trained staff and better housekeeping for th - I did like the size of the rooms and the fact it has a heritage feel. We were not informed upfront that breakfast is not part of the package and we had booked thinking it’s included. The staff didn’t clarify this and were also not very professional in the way they handled our last day at the hotel.
- Ann (8/5): Very good -
- Saini (5/5): Passable - Okay ish hotels Very average room for a very high price. Not worth it
- James (8/5): - Lovely decor in this hotel on the edge of Jaisalmer. Maru, the owner, very helpful and accommodating. Food good, although restaurant just a little grubby. Rooms spacious and well appointed. Great value, and would recommend.
- Rafat (7/5): Good -
- Rinku (8/5): - Our stay was comfortable
- Craig (10/5): Helsinki house Hotel stay - Hotel location situated on the outskirts of the city. But only 10 minutes from airport. The room was very spacious and the staff were very professional and courteous

View of the fort and local area was amazing from the rooftop restaurant area
- Jain (9/5): Superb -

- Verified traveler (10/5): An Oasis in Jaisalmer - Our stay at Hotel Helsinki in Jaisalmer was pretty fantastic! From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. As we were traveling with elderly parents, comfort and accessibility are paramount to us, and this hotel exceeded our expectations.
Firstly, the staff members deserve a special mention for their attentiveness and dedication. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and they were eager to assist us with any inquiries or needs we had. Their recommendations and thoughtful gestures truly made us feel like honored guests. The sunset at their desert camp was spectacular.
Our room was an oasis, clean and tastefully decorated with a touch of Rajasthani elegance. The views from our window could be much improved by cleaning up the trash and adding landscaping with native desert plants.
The hotel's rooftop restaurant was quite good with excellent service and a variety of authentic Rajasthani dishes. With great views of the fort, we would have enjoyed more comfortable outdoor furniture, but maybe next time! The hotel's location was in walking distance to the city's iconic landmarks and bustling bazaars.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Parth (8/5): Very good - Overall its good Parking space are limited
- Never (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr. (4/5): Below average hotel experience - Helpful and courteous room service staff
Good rooftop restaurant with view of the Fort
Complimentary pick and drop was provided on request
Pretty interiors of the hotel Location of the hotel is in interiors Not on the main road with poor road Connectivity Hospitality of the staff was below average
Wrong information regarding tourist site especially desert camp was provided
Overpriced, taxi fare and tour packages
Average food preparation in breakfast
- Annie (7/5): Good -
- Gaurav (9/5): Superb! Would highly recommend. Mr. Maru and his entire staff and help including referred Autowala n camel Safari guy, e - Every thing. From location, cleanliness, staff, easy checkin n checkout. Nothing as such. Every thing was good.
- Vivek (10/5): Ultimate stay - Room Na
- Aditya (9/5): Superb -
- Marcel (9/5): Superb - Very friendly staff and good food at the restaurant
- Dhariwal (10/5): Thanq so much guys for making our trip awesome. - Everything.
Management, staff, service.
- Pandey (8/5): It was ok -
- Paras (8/5): Very good -
- Adhyaru (10/5): Exceptional - It was well furnished and cleaned Nothing, all was fantastic
- Keyur (10/5): Exceptional - They could have been better in food service. I feel that they do not have staff for food therefore service was not good.
- Nidhi (10/5): Exceptional -
- E_m_elina (9/5): Gorgeously decorated hotel - Helsinki house is a beautifully decorated hotel with incredible rooms that are not only spacious but gorgeous. It has a view of the fort and the food we ordered from the rooftop dinner was some of the best food we have had (the Thali and Palak Paneer especially). The staff was very attentive and helped us a lot, especially all the restaurant staff. The location means that it is a quiet area and you can get a good night of rest in the super comfortable bed provided. The WIFI was one of the best we have experienced in Rajasthan, which is important for us as we also had to work from the hotel. Whilst the location is quiet and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk to the fort, I would say you are far from the center and you spend money always ordering Tuk Tuks or walking back and forth.
- Anonymous (8/5): Beautiful spacious hotel with large rooms, lovely staff and service however they need to improve on solving the electric - The people and the hospitality was great. Especially Maru bhaiya and the breakfast staff were brilliant and very welcoming and understanding. The rooms were awesome and clean and well designed. The hotel looks beautiful from outside and both inside and there is a sense of peace and calmness to the place. The roof top view is beautiful. Electricity kept going in the evening and the shower pressure was weak. It can get a little cold but that’s not something which the hotel is fully responsible for. However they do have heaters to keep the room warm so sleeping isn’t a big issue in the night. Also this would depend on the time of the year you go there.
- Jayraj (2/5): - 1) There is an arrangement here that only 2 to 3 liters of water is available for bathing, in which both have to bathe.
2) There is no Elevator here and the location is not good
3) Hotel is not satisfactory for money minded
- Ravi (7/5): Great stay - Room was great and spacious, although view was not good. Maaru the owner and his brother are great guys and helped during the trip and we also booked their own Helsinki Camp , which was really great for couple and families.
We wish them all the best for the hardworking family.
The view from the terrace ia amazing , quite place and still 10 mins walk to the fort.
Jaisalmer is great city and very clean. Breakfast can be done better and staff can be more professionalism. Hygiene ia a factor and don't expect 5 star service. Double check and agree with them before booking taxis, prices, trips and events etc.
Surprisingly they don't take card and be ready with cash, shame for international travellers and bit dodgy. There was always a bad smell of sock on the corridors, which can be rectified and some music at reception would do wonders.
Their Camp was great and beautifully done, it would be good if they provide a itenery for guest's about the event and offer some trips and things to see around. Hope they implements these positive feedback to make it better.
- Ashwini (6/5): Pleasant -
- Santosh (10/5): Value for money, nice and comfortable stay , family friendly. - The interior of hotel is vey beautiful. Rooms are clean and tidy . Rooms are comparable to 3 - star .
Owner of hotel is very polite and welcoming.
Food at roof top restaurant is delicious.
- Pavitra (10/5): Rajasthani hospitality at its best. - Built to mimic the old Haveli style, the rooms were big and spacious. Big windows allowed for light to filter in making the rooms look bright and airy. The rooms were also decorated very colourfully.
The staff there were very nice and courteous. Maru, the proprietor, went out of his way to ensure the comfort of the guests. We mentioned in passing that we were wanting to try Dal Pakwan. He immediately got into a call with one of the most famous dal Pakwan shops, and asked them to hold a couple of plates for us while we went. If he hadn’t done that we would have missed it, as he’d sold out by the time we reached . He also negotiated with a bike rental place nearby for the best price for day’s rental. He’s also very nice to talk to and told us about the history of the place and the uniqueness of the property’s name.
Food was also very good. Solid options in the breakfast menu, and they make it hot for you when you choose what you want. The restaurant on the rooftop allows for a nice view of the fort on one side and the vastness of the Thar on the other.
Location wise, while it’s not centrally located, its not out of the way. It’s only about a km away from the fort (which is central Jaisalmer). The hotel can arrange for autos or cabs on request. It’s also accessible by taxis on the apps.
We also booked their desert safari package, with stay at their desert camp. That was also a superlative experience, which probably needs its own review.
- Benito (9/5): Atmospheric hotel in magical Jaisalmer - The sandstone walls in the rooms. Illumination could provide a magical atmosphere It’s a bit far from the fort, but not much
- Akshat (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lucia (10/5): Exceptional - AMAZING!! We loved the location because it was a little outside the main centre but easy 5min drive in. Lovely and peaceful. Beautiful staff, especially Ram was so friendly and kind to us. Very clean and spacious room. the wifi was quite slow
- Nikhil (9/5): Superb -
- Viraj (6/5): So so - Food was very good Shower and top was very slow like droplets of water
- Nikhil (9/5): Superb -
- Gabriele (10/5): Warm place, good staff, nice restaurant. Thanks! - cleanliness, availability of nice restaurant on the rooftop
- Vinod (8/5): Very good -
- Sharma (8/5): I had comfortable stay - it was , clean, comfortable with spacious room nice clean rooms

- Utkarsh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ari (10/5): - The Hotel Helsinki was a wonderful place to stay. The decor was beautiful and the staff was very kind.
- Rishav (8/5): We had a short but sweet stay. Staff were super helpful. The room was decent and comfortable - Looked pretty and the staff were lovely. We didn’t stay for long but it seemed quite nice There was no wardrobe and the toilet we had could be upgraded (was stained) but was clean
- Bente (9/5): Superb -
- Sarabjeet (10/5): Jaisalmer's Top best hotel - Best location, very peaceful,
Mr maru was really helpful
Exceptional service.
Highly recommended. There is nothing to dislike about this place. We are taking unforgettable memories from this place
- Paola (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful rooms, with great value for money. Overall, a fantastic place to stay at. The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff exquisite. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

- Rahul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shaurya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (4/5): Disappointing except for the desert safari organized by the hotel - Breakfast Cleanliness of rooms, staff dressed shabbily, poor state of house keeping
- Lopamudra (10/5): It was alovely experience. - We did not eat breakfast there. But lunch was good. Staff was excellent. They were courteous and helpful. Mr. M. Than went to the extent of driving us to the station at 2 am.
We loved the rooftop dining hall. The only fly in the ointment was the exhaust that did not work.
- Dosvides (9/5): Superb - Huge and cozy room with all the facilities. The managers were very nice and helped us in everything we needed. Great views of Jaisalmer Fort from the terrace. This is a great hotel! A little bit far from the city Fort (15 minutes tops), but very easy to walk there or take a tuk-tuk.
- Ajay (3/5): Poor -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Although the hotel inside looks impressive but Surrounding of hotel was dirty. Not well kept surroundings.
Room was comfortable and spacey. But the mattress was too soft not suitable to my body and back.
The breakfast kitchen was not clean and some sand particles in the paranthas (appeared filling was not thoroughly cleaned).
Found a mouse in the room on the second night and this was a very disappointing part of my experience.
I want to be honest so that people like me take proper care before Making bookings.
- Kiran (10/5): - Maru and his team in Helsinki are wonderful hosts. We choose deluxe rooms and it was massive and we were lucky to get a wonderful view from our balcony especially sunrise. Although it was end of season and due to covid many guests were not coming, we did not find any issues related to service. It’s very close to Jaisalmer station and we were extremely surprised that maru picked us from railway station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel with great service and good food. Good views of the fort from the rooftop restaurant.
- Vinit (6/5): - The room was not ready when we arrived even though we had called ahead of time and the fact that we came late in the day after a long road trip so already was not happy. They maid us wait in the front for 15min because the manager was having lunch. When he came he didn’t seem happy or welcoming to see us and was a bit snappy to his staff and to us. When we first made reservation we asked if there is accommodation provided for our driver they said yes. But when we arrived the manager was a bit rude and said we Don’t provide accusations for drivers, that there is a guest house nearby where he can stay etc... room was good except we had booked 3 rooms and we were provided rooms in different floors. Additionally the mattress in our room was let’s just say overused by a few years. Terrible mattress. Roof top restaurant is probably not safe for foreigners very basic therefore chances of trying GI infection is high. I wouldn’t rush it.
- jesbindar (10/5): 5 out of 5 - It was an amazing stay. Everyone on the premises were very hospitable. Highly recommend this premises.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A decent place to stay - A decent place to stay. The rooms are basic, but sufficient and generally clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and made for a pleasant stay. It is just outside the town, and so offers good views of the countryside, and is still only a 20 minute walk from the Fort etc. in town.
- James (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Only issue being the smell from the toilet/air conditioning. Overall we had a very nice stay and the food was really good.
- Kirti (10/5): Great hotel, welcoming staff ! - Hotel is lovely and the staff are very attentive - the location is nice and quiet away from the busy town area but near enough to enjoy all it has to offer. All the food in the restaurant is freshly prepared to order and tastes amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Jaisalmer !
- Richard (8/5): - The staff here are great. The hotel itself is ok, it's got a pretty classic feel to it. I was on the ground floor, it was 42°c, the a/c didn't work very well, so the room was really warm.As with most hotels in India, the tv and the cable selection was nothing to brag about.
I had a very memorable camel desert safari scheduled through the hotel. To get to Jaisalmer Fort will take you about 15 to 20 mins walking, so the location is quite convenient. It was nice that they have their own vehicle to drop you off at the airport or train station. I had an evening flight, so they allowed me to keep the room for a late check out.
I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. My main complaint was that the room was uncomfortably warm, but I did travel during their hottest time of year.
- Samanth (10/5): - The rich architecture of Jaisalmer is very much present in this hotel and so is the hospitality. The rooms are absolutely spectacular, specially the deluxe rooms and the restaurant at the top of the hotel has some really good stuff.
The manager of the hotel was very kind and helped us plan our trip the right way. Not only that, we had a late train to Jaipur. He also allowed us to stay in the hotel and dropped us off to the railway station. I'd highly recommend the hotel to everyone travelling to Jaisalmer.
- AshokSharma (10/5): - Awesome service, delicious food and very helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wow, what an absolute Gem - Wow, what an absolute Gem. It is situated literally on the edge of the city so wonderful views of the sun coming up and of Jaisalmer Fort from the rooftop which is also the restaurant. The food is good and very reasonably priced, local and International food available. The WIFI is great. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. It would be a pleasure to return.
- DIPANKAR (8/5): Haveli staying in the desert... - Wonderful hotel with wonderful hospitality...good view from the room and from the rooftop restaurant...
- Srinivas (8/5): Nice hotel but Jaisalmar is dirty - Jaisalmar is very dirty, the hotel is situated in a average area, though inside the hotel and rooms are nice.
