- donnahnewyork (10/5): Bahamas sunshine - Had a great experience at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. I came down with 2 friends, all of us from NY seeking sunshine and the Baha Mar did not disappoint. In particular, we loved Corey Rolle at the SLS Skybar. He was so beyond great to us, chatting with us and sharing stories. He also happen to make one of the best skinny margaritas we had all week (we tried them in almost every bar). We also loved Everette at the swim up pool bar. Super nice guy, very engaging and also made great cocktails. Big shout out to Jasmeen & Antonio who helped us get our front row beach chairs each day. These guys work so hard all day in the sun and they aim to please. My only negative was the nasty bit** manager at the front desk on the afternoon of March 2nd. I kindly asked for a late checkout as we had a 5:00 pm flight and she was rude & difficult telling me they were fully booked and couldn’t accommodate me. I told her I was a World of Hyatt member and then showed her on the Hyatt app that there were DOZENS of available rooms for the next day. Literally DOZENS and she said that the app was wrong! Someone needs to fire her! She doesn’t belong in a customer service role! Took a couple of runs down the lazy River, enjoyed Marcus up top for the sunset and had great meals every night! Other than that the front desk, our experience was great! We’ll be back and hopefully the one bad seed won’t be there.

The property itself is beautiful, but what truly keeps us coming back is the level of service. In our experience, the SLS consistently delivers a far better service experience than the Grand Hyatt. One person in particular who always stands out is Christy at the concierge desk. Somehow, she remembers us every time we arrive, which is incredibly impressive and makes us feel genuinely welcomed. This trip we were actually hoping to see her earlier in our stay, but we didn’t run into her until about three days before we left. As soon as she saw us, she immediately asked how our trip had been and whether we had been well taken care of. We told her we had been having a good time, but she still went out of her way to work her magic and made some truly amazing things happen for us. That level of care and attentiveness is something you simply don’t see everywhere. Christy is exceptional at what she does. She is warm, professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about creating memorable experiences for guests. I always enjoy spending time chatting with her, and she consistently goes above and beyond in ways that make our stays special. While there were a couple of small things that didn’t go perfectly during this visit, Christy completely turned the experience around for us. She is exactly the kind of person who defines great hospitality. We absolutely adore Christy, and honestly, she is one of the biggest reasons we will continue coming back to the SLS. - G2754XOnicolew (6/5): Disappointed for the cost - I wish we had a better experience! First we went during winter break for school so it was at capacity, which definitely affected our experience. Pros: water park and pools are great, convenient to airport and overall easy for families with kids Cons: check-in they were disorganized, concierge seemed to not know as much as they should’ve and there were multiple back and forth correspondence just too book a massage, bathroom was not clean and room would use some updating for $1,500/night, we were out of our room from 8am-4pm and room was never serviced so we had to hunt for towels upon our departure the checkout agent so I’m sorry, but don’t make any other attempts. Lounge chairs are hard to come by, to get one by the kids pool we had to get up at 6am. You can reserve cabanas and loungers but none were available during our stay and we weren’t notified prior to our stay we needed to reserve ahead of time! This was our second stay at Baha Mar and just don’t know if we’ll be back!

- GOTRAVELGOGO (10/5): We had a truly epic time here on winter break perfect for adults and family - SLS over winter break and Super Bowl was a huge surprise for us for the better. We came with our two little ones and our nanny and while the hotel is great for adults they made our kids feel very welcome as well. No easy feat to cater to both worlds but they do so seamlessly and without alienating either side which I really appreciated. The service at the front is great as is front desk and all team members, genuinely hospitable and appreciative. Loved the numerous options for pools and activities right outside to try. Dinning we did perhaps best sushi rolls we’ve ever had at Katsuya and then Carne and a night over at Rosewood although SLS outlets were our preference. A thank you to the entire team for making this experience a memorable one highly recommended and we hope to be back.

Julie Johnson, just one of the incredible people we encountered, was nothing short of amazing; in fact, we nicknamed her “Wonder Woman“. Food, drinks, etc. (avocado fries YUM, Fire & Ice cocktails were perfection). If we ever find ourselves back in the Bahamas, we would return enthusiastically. 10 out of 10.

- Tour50141282280 (10/5): Treat yourself to a cabana at the Bungalow Pool with Jeffery! - We treated ourselves to a cabana at the bungalow pool one day on our trip to Baha Mar and had the best time. Our server Jeffery was on it and treated us so well. He even played football with my son for 20 minutes at the end of the day when things slowed down. The cabanas are a stylish black and white stripe with loungers raised in a deck. They were some of the nicest I saw at Baha Mar.
- Expedition709292 (10/5): First visit to SLS - recommend. - I’m a very regular guest at BahaMar but usually stay at the Grand Hyatt. However fate (and a full resort) stepped in and led me to my first stay at SLS. The SLS has a very young, hip, Miami Beach vibe - the decor is light and bright and trendy. But what made the SLS stand out for me was the amazing staff and service. Special mentions to Khadijah on the front desk who welcomed me on check in and greeted me by name like an old friend every time she saw me. A real credit to the team. Also special mentions to Andrew at the Bungalow pool who was managing the battle for the sun loungers with calm and grace. And to D (Danielle) my lovely server.

- Leopold_1673 (6/5): Definitely sub-par experience at SLS - Stayed at SLS for a week while on business / leisure trip to the Providence Island. Having been to the Miami SLS, I would say this is nowhere near. I would have expected a more adult, luxury, hip / chic experience. Rooms: the decor and state of the rooms is tired / aging (spotty floors, aging furniture, bathroom looks tired). Some wasted space, and poor design decisions for furniture placement. Housekeeping was OK, with no consistency in either the quality or timing. Service / concierge. Upon check-in, got a map, and not much else. Fortunately, had booked the dinners (as otherwise, would be impossible to get dinner). Concierge not really helpful with dinner bookings or anything (not even able to tell proper rules for pools). Overall setting: immediately walking outside of the SLS elevator, you run into the busy part of the resort: Monkey Lounge + Cleo cafe + Casino. It's a madhouse during the morning and dinner rush hour. Pool: just one dedicated SLS pool (sign says for SLS patrons only). But have definitely seen guests from other hotels there. Despite SLS having an adult / chic type of reputation, you see a lot of kids. Unclear if these folks are staying at SLS, or just "visiting" from Hyatt. I will definitely NOT stay at SLS during future visits. Maybe Rosewood, or one of the Atlantis hotels.

- Laura (8/5): Great hotel - issue with spaces to relax for adults - Location, restaurants, bars a great hotel overall - food and cocktails are outstanding. Most of the staff are nice Lots of extra charges on bills. Restaurants get too busy. But the biggest issue is the SLS pool. When we visited for the first time it was an adult only pool and I think this work perfectly because there are lots of amenities and pools that families can enjoy at the resort. The last couple years families are allowed and kids can get very loud making it not the best environment for relaxation. The only adults pool at the resort has banging music and only open on weekends. Think they should create a space for guest that don’t want to hear kids shouting or sit on a party pool.

- G7307RLmiked (4/5): SLS Baha Mar more resembles a low rent Margaritaville than an exclusive resort! - If you have refined expectations, this property will miss the mark at every turn. We made the unfortunate decision to celebrate both New Year’s Eve and my wife’s 50th birthday at SLS Baha Mar, and the experience was deeply disappointing. In short, the resort epitomizes an over-promised, under-delivered experience. The rooms feel dated and poorly appointed, service is mediocre at best, and the dining options resemble low-end chain restaurants rather than a luxury resort. Even if offered a complimentary stay, I would not return.

- roselynd185 (10/5): Best coordination for hosting a special event at SLS Cleo's Restaurant. - My special milestone birthday dinner was a memorable one thanks to the excellent service provided, and advice given by Ms. Lemicka Carroll, Special Events Manager at SLS Hotels. She was very patient with all my questions and ensured that the food sensitivities of my guests were followed exactly. The servers at Cleo's Restaurant were outstanding and very attentive to our needs. The restaurant was strategically located near the lobby for a photo taking session by the beautiful Christmas trees and Ginger house display. And with the Jon Batiste Jazz Club nearby the after-dinner event was the icing on the cake. The family-style serving of the food made the event cozy and intimate - we were not disturbed by other guests. The pre-fixed menu was value for money as we were able to sample a wide selection of the amazing menu at Cleo's Restaurant. There was something for everyone's liking! We were able to sample some of the interesting and tasty cocktails offered on the menu. Favourite cocktails were Pom Pommes and the Mistra. Ms. Carroll added, as a special touch for my guests, a keep-sake menu of the dinner, name place tags, as well as a takeaway box for the extra birthday cake.

It’s a very chick place with so many mouth watering dishes, Our waitress whose name was Melissa was wonderful. She was courteous, polite, sweet and very professional. I highly recommend Cleo! You will absolutely love it.
