Lisa (7/5): Great place to stay but make sure you get the room that you want - Breakfast was perfect. Location was perfect. The sitting room was beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful. I booked a room with a twin bed and private bath. I would not book this room again. It was exceedingly small and the twin bed was against a wall and I kept hitting my arm. I left a day early even though I paid for three nights' stay because the room was just not comfortable.
Mary (10/5): - Everything was excellent; because of the festival that weekend, could have used another coffee table for guests who sat on a couch with no table to place their dish or their cup. Also, one of our friends was gluten free, and there were no gluten free items to toast (most places keep some available in their freezer). Thank you. ps. Front desk, drivers, and luggage handlers were exceptionally kind and helpful!

We will be back next year. The only problem was when we collected our luggage which was being held for us until we left the island, my friend's sweater and my hoodie (which was given to me by my daughter) were missing. We didn't realize it until 15 minutes after we left. We went back to the hotel and they couldn't find either item. The only problem was my friend's white sweater and my charcoal gray hoodie were no where to be found 15 minutes after we left the property.

S (9/5): Jared Coffin house is a well run hotel with caring helpful staff, clean facilities and comfortable s - The facilities and location are superb. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The bikes could be a bit better as two we were given needed repairs. Breakfast was very nice and adequate. Overall a terifiic time. Near so many shops and restaurants.
Adri (1/5): Do not go there - Within walking distance to the ferry Room was advertised as spacious, with a king size bed. The bed cramped the room not even an extra chair to sit and relax. One chair similar to a dining chair was provided. The walls were so thin you could hear the neighbors TV and conversations. The wi-fi did not work and when I enquirer about it, I was treated as an idiot by your front desk staff.

The breakfast that is provided was continental and had such a variety of foods and drinks. The staff was exceptional and was so willing to make my stay wonderful. The location is fabulous, and the restaurant next door was excellent. The Coffin House was a sea Captains home. It has been kept in wonderful condition. NOTHING

Room was very hot with no way to regulate. No way to block windows for privacy. Just one chair, so one person had to sit on the bed. Third floor with no elevator and steep stairs.

Lissa (7/5): We will stay at Jared Coffin house again. - It is very close to the ferry and downtown Our room was roomy with waters and a fridge. There is a cute reading area upstairs with an extra water closet. The breakfast was lacking. Would have liked eggs, granola or other pastries not just yogurt, bagels and cereal. We did get a ride from the ferry by the White Elephant van driver which was nice since my friend was wearing a boot on her hurt foot.

You step out into history - the preservation of the town and the hotel are second to none and the people who live here are the real deal. I would encourage everyone to make the trip - It's not easy to get here but well worth it. Great restaurants and shopping, not a franchise in site!

Great staff and amenities (beach chairs and towels at the front desk!...and continental breakfast each day! And the location can not be beat! Right in downtown and fast walking access to everything as well as all the bus routes.

L22P4 (10/5): Great experience - My husband and I chose the Jared Coffin House for our 30th wedding anniversary and could not be happier with that decision. Our great experience started a couple of weeks before our arrival when the concierge, Antonique, contacted us asking if we had any questions or if we needed a car to pick us up upon arrival. She helped with recommendations for places to eat, made reservations after we looked into the restaurants she recommended, and had a car waiting for us when we got off the ferry! Our driver was very kind. Check in was quick. Our bags were brought to our room. We stayed in the Anna Gardener suite. It was beautiful! It smelled fresh and clean as soon as we walked in. We were so surprised by a bottle of wine and a lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary! The room was well appointed and even had a record player with a great selection of vinyls to listen to. The bed was very comfortable. We took full advantage of the beach chairs and beach umbrella during our stay. We were going to use the bikes but after watching people ride on the cobblestone streets we thought better of it!! Nantucket is very walkable but when our restaurants were farther out Antonique secured us a ride to and from. For breakfast we grabbed coffee and pastries and enjoyed them as we walked around town in the morning. The area for breakfast is small but not a problem, as we prefer to be outside. Everyone who works there went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The location could not be better. We will definitely be back.

The inn was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating. Also, we really enjoyed the ACK Tap Room and lots of local restaurants. Highly recommend!
Stephen (10/5): - Loved the historic aspect of this hotel. Built in 1845 by a sea captain for his home and family, you feel like you are part of history as a guest. The hotel staff was so responsive to our needs as 'veteran' travelers. We can't say enough about them. The hotel in located conveniently in the downtown and right down the street from the Whaling Museum. It is a super hotel to stay in on the beautiful island of Nantucket.

Paul (3/5): Noisy, annoying and poorly set up with restaurant food collection stands right outside room windows - Restaurant noise outside room. Basically sounded like you were in the kitchen from 11-3 and from 5:00 - 11:00. Banging and scraping food off plates. Dish collection right outside 1st floor room window. I never write a bad review, except this one. Just the chance of getting this or nearby rooms will stop me coming here.

Suzanne (10/5): I would love to stay here again. - The breakfast had some plain yogurt and I'm watching my sugar. Most of the rest was carbs. Coffee was good. The location and atmosphere were 11, not 10. Staff was WONDERFUL. Loved the bikes. I liked everything about the hotel. I just wish it had been a bit more affordable.

Ana (6/5): - This is an old property that has been remodeled. I booked a room for a single person which was awful. The HVAC was so loud that I couldn’t sleep all night. Several light switches didn’t work. Space was minimal, as well as bath, which I didn’t care much. I told reception the next morning and they immediately switched the room for another with same space but has been updated, with less noisy HVAC, fresh painting and bigger bath. Staff was very cordial, but I was upset because both rooms were available at my arrival and they gave me one which is clearly not acceptable to use. They KNOW that, proof is that they changed me immediately for a room across the hall. Please do not book if they give you room 409.

Charles (8/5): - It’s a beautifully maintained, historic property over 150 years old. Located within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping choices. The free continental breakfast was nice, with nice food options. My room was very small. King size body pillows on a twin bed were a bit difficult though deal with. Bathroom was very tiny as well. But for a 1 night stay it was fine.

Joseph (8/5): - The accommodations were nice, but old. It's wonderful to get that colonial experience, but we prefer the updated 2020 something version of that, which is not here. That's ok, great for others, just not us. Also, for those driving this place is great with ample parking. One thing that again- for us- missed the mark is the front desk and staff are not overly friendly or trained in high end customer service. If you asked a question or asked for something, they responded, but they didn't offer any information if not asked. From the time we checked in, where you would expect that they would tell you about the accommodations, the services like free continental breakfast, beach chairs, bicycles, etc, all they could tell us was that our room was not ready and their obligation is to have it ready by 3pm, that was it. Again, we expect more of a friendly greeting, all the amenities that are available to us, and what suggestions they may have for things to do while we waited. We have been to Nantucket before, so we were fine, but to us this we expect way more. We stayed just down the street last year at a much friendlier, much more updated boutique hotel and favored that quite a bit more. This was just 'OK'.

Patrick (10/5): Great except for problem with room location next to the patio restaurant. - The staff was fantastic. The room was large and comfortable. The room was located right next to the service station for the patio restaurant. Constantly hearing servers talking and depositing dirty dishes and utensils. Felt like they were in the room with us. Should be moved, considering the price of the room. It was extremely disruptive and irritating.

normadY7768EK (6/5): Basic to fair - Location great. Main building seems nice enough. Our room was in the iut house not part of the main building. The room was dated, bathroom sink big crack in it. A terrible showe bath area one of those cheap tutted bathroom showers that are plastic. Our bedroom faced on to the walkway between a restaurant. The bins for clearing up the plates were directly outside our windows so the clattering of plates being cleaned started around lunch time and went on to around 10.30pm. We had to have our bedroom and bathroom blinds closed all the time as waitress staff co ata fly walked by our windows. It’s not a cheap place to stay. We stayed four nights and it cost $3,000 - which I understand is par for the course in Nantucket in August. But this hotels has many flaws and we happened to be in a room with more than its fair share of them. On the plus side the staff are friendly. And location is good. Also love that bikes were available, plus beach chairs and umberella. All part of the coat of staying here. Finally breakfast is a light continental - which was totally fine although by if a cramble to get it as it’s served in a small space with not enough seating.

Thomas (10/5): - Outstanding experience overall. Beautiful, well-maintained property and a helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast is thorough continental but freshly baked on the premises (at least the muffins are, and they're terrific). Free bikes rentals, which is important because there's a lot to explore in Nantucket that's not exactly within walking distance.
Diane (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at the Jared Coffin House. The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. The pre-arrival concierge arranged a ride for us from the Hy-Line ferry terminal which was much appreciated. The room was different than I expected, but it was large, comfortable and had a recently renovated bathroom. Bikes (and helmets) were available free of charge for guests, which was another nice perk. The only negative was that the outdoor courtyard area was only for the restaurant patrons and unless you wanted lunch or dinner you were out of luck. We tried to request a table to have drinks and appetizers but were turned away by a rather snooty hostess. Although the hotel was nice and the location was great, I think on our next trip I'll look for a hotel with a balcony or outdoor courtyard in which we can relax and enjoy.

Erin (4/5): - Have stayed on island many many times. First time at Jared Coffin, the staff was amazing and incredibly kind. The room itself was dirty, the shower was dingy, dust in the corners, the rug had visible first spots all over. Could definitely use a facelift. Blew the fuse with just a hair dryer. So if you’re looking for an updated place look elsewhere. Very outdated for the price. With that said- the staff was beyond kind and amazing
