- Keith (8/5): - A nice little family run hotel, and they are a lovely friendly family. Very central location but quiet. Antibes isn't really noisy anyway. Very reasonable continental breakfast. The room we had was basic, but should be expected for this price and location. The mattress was very hard and not very comfortable was our only issue really. But for a short stay it's okay.

- Fionnuala (10/5): Comfortable bed and p - A perfect location- You can’t beat it, it’s a few minutes walk to the beach, market and local shops with a boulangerie just opposite. The bed was very comfortable so I slept very well. The windows cut out the noise from the street when closed and when open, you can hear the bustling of the street below. There was a fan to keep cool and the shower was powerful. The owners were very friendly and helpful-they allowed me to leave my luggage which was so kind to allow me to enjoy Antibes without being laden with bags. The room and hotel itself could do with modernising as the decor is old-fashioned. It could do with a kettle and mini-fridge for beverages. However, I would definitely recommend it for a central and safe location and a restful nights’ sleep.

- DAVID (8/5): 3 nights - Nice central small hotel in the heart of Antibes. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that . No lift so might be a problem for some especially if on 3rd floor . No fridge in room , or tea/coffee facilities, so pretty basic , still enjoyed my 3 night stay .

But it is very basic (e.g. I recommend you bring or buy your own soap and shampoo) and small. But the location is great, just footsteps from the main street going through downtown, and it’s reasonably priced.
- Lynne (6/5): - An older two star hotel in the heart of old town Antibes. Small room had AC which was needed. FYI: the shower was a big step up from the bathroom floor and quite tight. Large people would have an uncomfortable experience getting into the shower.
- Christopher (6/5): - Location, location location but additional unwelcome guest .. stayed 4 night as solo traveller. location is great edge of the old town loads of restaurants, bars, shops 10 mins walk to train station for Cannes, Nice Airport etc …. Bus route to cap d Anitibes nearby for billionaires bay, beach at Antibes within 15 min walk. Called modern hotel which be true if this was still 1975 but slept well shower was good, tv worked, staff polite unfortunately there was a cockroach in my room and a baby one in the hallway, guessing due to being next to the shops but still not great. Would stay again if the bug problem was sorted

The room was quite small with no mini ftidge, but the owner broughtbip a small electric fridge to keep food cold, which was super helpful as we were there for 5 nights.Antibes old town is a lovely, busy place. We are in Nice old town now but feels so big and crowded. Tons of restaurans, shops. But difficult to find a bakery, grocery store. Antibes is way better for getting around. Both have lovely seaside boardwalks. The beach at nice is large blue stones. Vs antibes is sand , but much smaller. We are here in May, so a bit too cold to swim anyway.

There is a fridge in the office and also hot drinks but this is up and down the three flights. Overall I would recommend but not for the elderly.

Breakfast available (but I chose to meet friends and eat elsewhere). Some noise from the street but nothing that kept me awake!

- Zara (8/5): - Simple loggings very convenient for the Old Town. Good shower room cleaned everyday. Good air con. We had a twin standard room which was small and had no where to unpack your clothing other than a small rail and a shelf which housed the safe, no floor space to have your cases open, but we got by and stayed happily for one week. What we would have really liked is a small fridge and hot drink making facilities but to be fair to them we knew they were not included. Definitely worth a stay !!
- David (10/5): - Great property in the middle of Antibes. Our room overlooked the pastry shop next door, and we often had musicians playing in the street below us in the morning. Easy walking distance to the beach and marina area. Plenty of good food and drink nearby.

- 887edmundw (8/5): terrific location - clean safe budget hotel right at the centre of the action. the emphasis is on budget so you're not going to get mod cons, but if you want a clean base to explore not just an incredible town but this fabulous region, then you wont go wrong staying here.

- E4619TEjadeb (6/5): Very Clean and friendly staff but came back and found our room door open and unlocked - At first impression, we really didn't mind this hotel, the room was fine with a cute view and working air con. It was really clean and was cleaned every day of our 4 night stay. The room could do with giving you more than one pillow each but that wasn't a big issue. The problem I had was that when I came back from a day out I went to unlock the door and realised not only was it unlocked that it was ajar as well, whoever had cleaned the room had not locked the door after them. Luckily nothing was taken from our room but it was quite worrying.

- j0vellf (2/5): Worst stay - The room is dark & suffocating, no proper air circulation, there were 2 windows one in the room and the other in the toilet both opening to what they call a courtyard (which is not a courtyard at all, have attached images). This courtyard of theirs was dirty smelling and it was closed from the top, there was no renewal of air at all happening. We spent a night there and couldn't sleep at all. We complained & left the next day, we cancelled our stay issued a request for the reimbursement but the hotel completely denied our request.

My only comment would be that the pillows could be more comfortable or even just more of them. Regardless, it was a pleasant stay with friendly staff and a perfect location. We fell in love with Antibes so will definitely be back.

- Christopher (10/5): - The price you pay for this hotel with its location is worth its weight in gold. Everything you need is on your doorstep. Location is the most important thing when choosing a hotel and Modern is the best in Antibes for location. The hotel is run by really nice people. The breakfast is lovely for €7. It’s in the heart of Antibes so don’t expect a day in bed, I would save money on more expensive hotels and spend it on the delights of this beautiful part of the world. And I didn’t get a single mosquito bite!
- Lesley (10/5): Pleasant hotel in good location. - Hotel is in a good location. Room cleaned and fresh towels provided daily. Friendly staff. It is an old hotel which adds to its charm and everything was neat and tidy. One small complaint is that the pillows are too hard.
- Andrew (4/5): - It's a clean but very very old building. No elevator. Only soap for two nights was 2 X 7 ml sachets of shower gel.
- Samantha (4/5): - This hotel was really disappointing and gross. The paint on the walls were chipped. There were black stains above the air conditioner like there was mold. The air conditioner barely worked and the rooms felt constantly stuffy and muggy. The hotel lobby and hallways was dark with poor lighting. The lighting flickered and the plumbing made strange noises. Yes it was inexpensive but I wouldn’t book again. You could get a bigger cleaner room on Airbnb for the same price.
- Simon (10/5): - Great little hotel well situated for old Antibes plus train station to get you to Monaco, Cannes and Nice … all along the Cotes d’Azur. It’s a little basic but exceptionally clean and friendly people. The perfect base if you want to go exploring.

Staff was very pleasant, off a main street but within a block of bakeries, brasseries, and other charming buildings, lots of color and flowers everywhere. I would highly recommend it unless you want a charmless Holiday Inn.

- briggzilla (6/5): Good value - Stayed a night in September. Impressed with the price and was allowed to check in earlier than expected. Basic room, but had everything we needed. Noise from nearby nightlife kept us awake a bit, but it is in a great location to lots of bars and restaurants which is useful. Checked out before 8am, so left the key in the room as there was no box to drop it in when the reception desk isnt manned (there may be instructions but couldnt see it in english).

- Verified traveler (2/5): Unless every hotel in the Riviera is closed-don't - An inhospitable place, hard beds and pillows, rags for towels in the bathroom that should have been changed years ago, no lighting on the steep and winding stairs and no lift. Very possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in- clearly not one penny is ploughed back into this place that seems to be operational only whilst being run into the ground. There is a live music venue just outside on one side and on the other side it backs onto the bus station which is used as a place for the homeless to drink and hang out in. Very unpleasant experience all round. Also as a single person I was charged two person city tax!!
- Philip (10/5): Three Night Stay in july - The hotels is excellently situated near the vibrant part of Antibes. The room was clean comfortable with amenities as expected. Reception staff were friendly and helpful so would not hesitate in recommending this hotel

Nothing fancy but the price matches the comforts. So we are not complaining at all. This is a budget hotel for backpackers like us.

- damienp889 (2/5): Awful attitude - Stay there last autumn. Very basic but central. Now just Tried to book over the phone. Was given a price by the owner on the phone to which I agreed. He even said it is better to book with us directly rather than via Booking.com. I then received an email with a different price. When I called to ask, I was told I was mistaken and the price was given by the nightwatch. I called at 11.45 am. Jean Marie responded in a very sarcastic way telling me he will fire the person and that as a customer I was stingy and that the person mistook the high season with low season (as if it was my fault) In meantime I have communicated the given rate to the other parties. This morning I got call to be told that I misheard the price. I'm bilingual and I did repeat the price on the phone to be sure it was the same for single or double rooms. To which he said yes. Well then again we are in France, customer service has always been awful and Hotel Modern is far from being modern with no customer service at all and Hotel Modern has just proved it once again.

- Travel_addict13_10 (8/5): Budget but good value - Hotels in Antibes are expensive. If you want to foregoing the luxury and spend the savings in the restaurants, Modern Hotel is a good choice. Don’t expect luxury or interesting decor. However, everything works. We had a double room and had just enough room for our big bags. The room is quite small with a shelf, two stools, and cupboard and queen bed. The bathroom fittings are reasonably modern. The room was clean, their was plenty of hot water in the shower, the air conditioner was quiet and effective. The windows are modern and sound proof and the older shutters can be closed to make the room dark. The sound proofing is good because we were not disturbed by noise at night from within the hotel or out. There is a mirror in the bedroom as well as the bathroom and adequate power points. The wifi is free and effective. There is a safe. We were on the second floor and our friends on the third and you need to be able to take your bags up the flights of stairs. The management are very obliging and helpful. They readily gave us extra pillows on request and an extra wifi code for a third device. Breakfast is simple but is only 7 Euro.- croissant, bread, spreads, orange juice and coffee/ tea. The quality of the croissants was excellent. The coffee was good. The hotel is in an ideal position in the pedestrian area of the older town but not far from the road if you are being dropped in an Uber/ taxi. The restaurants of the old town are all around. The main square is about 200 metres as is the Gare Routiere. The sea front is about a 7 minute walk as is the train station. If you can forego the luxuries and want simple, basic but clean accommodation at a good price in a good area, this should be a good choice. The price was very good and the management pleasant.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the beach and in the centre of Antibes. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are slightly dated, but they are clean and comfortable with TV, air conditioning and a safe included in the price. The room was cleaned every day. The only slight downfall was that the towels have clearly had a lot of use and are a bit thin. However, for the overall price it was a great stay and I would happily go again.

- Gian Andrea Dante (8/5): Antibes last minute vacation - It was a good vacation in Antibes, the room was great value. We stayed six nights. The hotel is right at the beginning of the downtown area. It's quite comfortable. There are three floors and the third floor rooms may not be perfect for old people as there's no elevator and steep stairs, but we're still kinda young so it was ok. One minor problem might be noise from the street on Friday and Saturday nights, but I've seen worse (after midnight it gets silent).

Aircon good and room comfortable, clean hotel position is ideal for centre of town shops and short walk to local beach. Only criticism this is staff did not engage with us at all no good morning no good evening no hello no welcome Shane could be improved on that but you get what you pay for.

- Peter (10/5): Excellent value for money hotel. - We have stayed at this hotel on 3 occasions as it is in a great location for restaurants, bars etc and the owner and staff cannot do enough for you. They are very welcoming and friendly. Excellent value for money and very clean throughout.
- 394henrikg (8/5): Nice little hotel. - No elevator, Room at the top floor. Had only small luggage so it was no problem. English speaking personell. Good aircondition,wich helped a lot. It was 31 celsius. Walking distance to everything that you need.

(nut I think not all the room are like this)

There were 58 steps to the third floor so I recommend asking for a lower floor. The location was excellent! I got lucky with parking since it is in a pedestrian area so you have to walk there from the car. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. A/C worked great which was very important. A great value.
