But for $165/nt.....???

Karen (10/5): - All the wonderful things you read in reviews of the Mystic are spot on -- it's clean, the staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are small yet comfortable with the most important needs (comfort, safety, and cleanliness) attended to, and the overall vibe is fabulous. Plus, the breakfast is far beyond the usual continental breakfasts at most hotels. The details of the decor are well thought out and pleasing to the eye while providing comfort as well. For a woman traveling alone without a car, the neighborhood was not ideal in the later PM, especially after a 12+hour travel day, when it came to getting dinner. While there was a restaurant (with good on-line reviews) across the street, one would one would want their senses to be at most alert, since there are a lot of homeless wandering the area. Although not ordinarily a deterrent, one would want to have their full wits about them and still could use Uber Eats to have food delivered. For the one-night stay I was there, it was the perfect place in spite of this one detail. The next day, I comfortably walked from the hotel the short distance to Meow Wolf -- a must see! -- and to Kakawa Chocolate House's local site in the area (original shop still on Paseo de Peralta), which is always a yummy delight for chocolate lovers. I went twice, before and after my visit to Meow Wolf. For those with cars, it's ideally situated near major highways and close to the airport. It's also a more affordable price than downtown hotels and B&Bs

Highly recommend staying here. I will say, I did my research beforehand and realized this wasn’t going to be the nicest part of town. I was okay with that. I felt safe, and still had an amazing time. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, you should go try it out!

The rooms need more consideration for traveling couples (i.e. additional shelving to put things in bathroom), but overall had a great experience! Staff was friendly and helpful. Cleaning crew was awesome too. Just sad we missed all the activities, we only stayed mid-week so nothing going on and the restaurant/bar was closed. Will definitely be coming back!

They did have entertainment 2 of the nights we were there. Breakfast was pretty good, more than a simple continental breakfast, though they wanted $4 for a glass pod juice

We got 2 happy hour drinks (the bar was open) and were initially charged over $30 - the bartender didn’t know how to use the system to charge for drinks apparently. It took about 15 minutes to straighten it out. At least the bed was comfortable.

Even though the rooms are small which, of course, is not uncommon for an older motel, there would be enough space for a small table and two chairs. Please consider this a recommendation for an opportunity for improvement. I am sure most of your guests would appreciate this. Everything else was great! Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, hotel decoration and cleanliness, safety for guests etc. etc.

The motel area is gated and fenced, so I like having my car next to my room and a large area for walking my dog around their popular outdoor garden wedding/music venue. Excellent value.

Towels were old and ac unit was very noisy and the bed was very uncomfortable. Went to the lobby at 9am for coffee and it had not been made yet. Damian (4/5): - None of the hours were correct. It says it will charge your card on arrival or when the desk closes but we were charged an hour early. Okay, but when we tried to contact the desk there was no answer, it goes straight to voicemail without any message, just the beep. We get there in a downpour and while we have the code to the lock box there is no instructions on how to open it. The desk was locked up 15 minutes early but there was another guest pounding on the locked door with different complaints, so I stood by waiting for help. The restaurant/bar said it was open until 10, it too was already locked up at 8:45pm. It’s a nice remodel of a drafty old motel but the draft is still there. There is no coffee in the room and the hours for breakfast are listed as both 7 & 8 am depending on where you’re looking, and we had business to attend to. There is no microwave as advertised. The refrigerator buzzed loudly all night which was almost good white noise over the neighbors tv all night thru the paper thin walls. They had not emptied the trash basket. The beds are metal spring so they creaked every time we moved. The sink bowl takes up the entire counter. Otherwise, cute.

Anne (8/5): - This is a very unique property with a funky zen like quality. It has a lovely back garden area where there was live music, food truck and a bar set up on the night we arrived. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in our almost 6 week cross country trek. It included fresh assorted berries, flaky pastries, eggs,etc. Although located on a very busy street the way the hotel was situated we did not hear much traffic. The room was small and the lighting was limited but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was a nice change from chain hotels. It is located about 2 miles from downtown Santa Fe so easy to get to and from.

Numerous vagrants in the area. However the parking area was secured with a fenced in area that made us feel safe. No issues occurred. The Mystic did a great job making us feel welcome and safe. Jason (10/5): Quaint and Unassuming - Our stay was great! We arrived a bit early so our room was still being prepared but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Once checked in the room was very nice and had everything we needed while being very minimalist in design. The property is well maintained and features a huge outdoor space hidden away in the back. In the morning checkout was simple and the complementary breakfast was just what we needed for the trip back home.

Roberta (10/5): - I loved the website photos and the price was right. I have had bad experiences with hotels in Santa Fe. We were surprised it was a motel. That is usually a red flag. We did have to change rooms. The first room we checked in to was very rustic and not at all updated. They gave us another room that was perfect and matched what we saw previously on the internet. This trip could hae gone either way. Had a better room not been available, we would not have enjoyed our stay. I will say though the cook at the restaurant is fabulous!!! Eat in!!!
Susan (6/5): - This could be a true hidden gem if not for their pet policy. TWO barking dogs in the room next to us was a deal breaker. Will not return.
Dawn (10/5): Cool Desert Air Vibes - Elegantly renovated vintage motor court with ample backdrops for photo ops in outdoor spaces, bar lounge and thoughtfully designed rooms. Impeccable staff, jazz band, and the most impressive complimentary breakfast bar. Safe gated parking. Lovely two day stay in a great area close to everything. An elevated experience.
Roy (8/5): - I was a little concerned when I realized this was a spruced up motel. However, it is amazing what a difference some careful thought and design can make! The beds were clean and excellent, the bathroom was pleasant, and the breakfast in the morning was surprisingly excellent. Everyone in our group was unexpectedly impressed and we would definitely return. The rooms could be better lit (windows were small and lighting was sparse). The A/C was a whisper-quiet modern unit with excessively bright lights. These two (minor) niggles were the only actual problems with an otherwise great motel. It’s also well located for Meow Wolf and some of the edgier parts of Santa Fe (despite feeling very safe).

Nashwa (8/5): - Breakfast was fantastic! And my bed was super comfy. The aesthetic is on point, so many lovely small touches throughout, and the room was quite clean (although I'm not sure how they launder the animal-skin carpet?). Front-desk staff were very kind and attentive, despite not seeming to have much knowledge of the area (if you need an ATM, turns out there's a CVS down the street that has one and will do cash back; you don't need to walk for half an hour). The room (2-Totem) doesn't get much natural light, especially if the front blinds are closed for privacy—some frosted-glass window decals could easily fix that. Overall would stay again!
Amy (10/5): - Booked a deluxe king with sofa bed. Everything - Amazing! Spacious, clean, unique design. They went above and beyond in the common spaces both indoors and outdoors to really extend the stay beyond the room. My preteen loved all the outdoor set up and enjoyed games and fire pit in the evening. Morning- complimentary breakfast is actually fantastic! The staff cares about the breakfast display, greets every customer and responds quickly. Parking is behind a gate and no parking fee!
Dennis (10/5): Great value for the money - Small room (as expected), but comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Don't expect a lot of amenities at this price point, but the breakfast is great with a variety of fresh fruit and better than usual hotel waffles. Only downside was the staff was a little slow to keep the breakfast buffet stocked. Compared to the expensive hotels in town, it was great value for the cost. And Santa Fe is small enough that it wasn't far to get to places we wanted to be.

Nancy E (8/5): - Wedding event at motel we experienced noise until 2 am. Wedding guests were allowed to park in guests spaces at the property so we could not park get to our assigned space nor to our door. The morning breakfast was delicious. The nite live music on Friday and Saturday was excellent.
Brian (8/5): Expensive, experior needs work, fine otherwise - Nice place. A little ratty on the outside but my room was quiet, comfortable, and tidy. Good breakfast but why make guests pay for orange juice? It was fine overall, tho $195 a night seemed expensive, given what it is.
Genevieve (10/5): Desert oasis - Such a lovely place to stay. Friendly staff and well-appointed rooms. Bed was super comfortable and the bar/restaurant was a fun scene. I will definitely return.

jama (2/5): - I specically asked if the had an iron and board I had to iron before a very important event If they said no I would have hone somewjet else I was told theu did When I got there they didn't but said they woulf locate one. Iwent to fimmer I called the grot desk at 8 I thougjt if they did have one I would purchase one at a store. No one answered. Iwent to desk amd they had close even though they are supposed to stay open until 9. They had s text but no one responded. Bed wal lumpy .eighbors were noisy to purchase iron and board.

Anna (10/5): - Room (snake) was super comfortable and spacious, and I love how it was decorated. Breakfast was lovely. And even though there was music in the evening and our room was nearby, it was not loud enough to prevent us from our early night sleep needs. Only complaint was the parking was very tight. The first night we fit, the second night, another guest’s huge truck was parked catty corner to the resident food truck and we were prevented from parking in our spot. It’s just a tight lot. Lovely otherwise!
